  • MSI TV@Anywhere PLUS remote control shut down problem

    Hi!
I have a MSI TV@Anywhere PLUS card working fine. I use the remote control without problem. Except that, when i want  to shut down my PC with it. I push "POWER", the app closes, and after that i push "RESET" and I get this: "Press "Power" to shut down your computer, or any other key to cancel" . But whatever I try to push on the remote, nothing happens...but by the mouse, the OK or Cancel buttons work.
Can somebody help , what is going on?
    thanks much!

    Hi All,
I solved my problem with some trying, this msi remote is really funny....
Okey, so It appears that, when the above mentioned "shut down or cancel" window comes up pushing the "RESET" on my remote, the remote app. stops receiving commands/stops working. If i close this window, I am able to use again my remote controller. phhhh....
All right, lets use the built-in mouse/pointer controller to click (5) on OK in the window, when it is asking for shut down... NOT working either, because as i mentioned above, when the window appears, the remote stops working... jejeje :D
So, I made a shutdown.exe command icon on the desktop, and I can click on it with my remote...solved...
(the remote controller cannot navigate the cursor above the windows taskbar i do not no why..., besides this, it is ridiculous how difficult to move the cursor with he controller, pushing like crazy :D )

  • MSI TV anywhere plus capturing problem

I just installed MSI TV anywhere plus card, location Canada NTSC-M to copy VHS tapes and burn onto DVD's. I can see and hear the VHS tape running on the computer now, but when I click 'capture' I get 'internal encoder error' and then the program gets hung up and I can't do anything. I am unable to end program, it won't respond. I can't shut down or restart, I must unplug computer. My error report is szappname - MSITVR.exe, szappver - 2.0.2.2, szmodname - hungapp, szmodver offset - all zeros. Please help!
I hope this is all the computer info you need!!

Did some more checking.  I go from vcr to computer on the rca cables, then I use composite with yuy2 input and avi capture. The program still gets hung up and anything that I capture I am unable to open with either the TV plus program or Windows Media. If I try to capture in mpeg format I get the internal encoder error. Either way as soon as I hit capture, I can see it's recording and its saving data but the program freezes. I can hit 'stop' but its completely hung up.
I have the latest drivers downloaded for TV plus. Got any ideas??

  • MSI TV@Anywhere PLUS and Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 (build 7600) and I try to install drivers and PVR for this TV Tuner. Everything was working just fine.
Than I was scaning for channels and in the backgound I saw picture and sound of programs. So when it scan all chanells I click OK and than nothing.
Channels  are in, sound is working but there are no PICTURE of a channel. It is all grey.
    System:
    cpu: E6600
    MB: Foxconn MARS
    RAM: 4x1GB DDR2 800
    GPU: HD 4770 (CCC 9.6)
    OS: Windows 7 b7600 x86

Something I found and so simple it's disgusting, right click on the black screen and open the 'Setup' window and click on the 'Video' tab and change the settings, click OK at the bottom when done. This is after simply installing the Vista drivers from MSI and doing nothing else.
    Brightness = 110
    Contrast = 59
    Hue = 0
    Saturation = 59
    Sharpness = 0
Here's a picture of what settings I'm referring to.
Fine tune adjustments to suit your monitor and eyeballs!
I have started and stopped TV@+ several times and it's still working just fine after setting as above.
Edit: I did install the codecs yesterday in Svet's 'Reply #10' above just in case, I remember needing to do such a thing when I 1st got the card a few years ago.

  • MSI TV@Anywhere Plus NO SOUND!!

    Hi guys,
I have a problem, I have setup my card (PCI) and installed all the drivers.  I have perfect picture quality but no sound, the way my system is setup is i plug my speakers into my base unit and from the base unit i have a 3.5mm jack cable going from there into my computer.  Its a green colored lead which slots into my the line in on my sound card. (the green hole)
My audio device is Realtek AC97, there is nothing wrong with the way i have my audio setup becuase i can here sound from other programs like WMP and itunes.
When tunning in my TV card in i have selected Line In for the TV live sound option but nothing is happening NO SOUND!!
What do i have to do to get this working?
    Please help
    Cheers guys
    Ben

    XSI,
i see you have read the sticky topic already, so i presume you have already connected the 3.5mm jack plug from the multi-AV lead on the TV@nywhere Plus to the Line-In on your motherboard's audio jacks
now, maybe you will tell us what motherboard you have, because when i had my MSI K8N Neo Platinum, for some reason, the Line-In jack was linked to the Aux channel in the Realtek/Nvidia audio control panel, instead of the Line_in channel...

  • READ this: MSI TV @nywhere Plus + Dscaler

My Pinnacle pctv pro has gone ( I suspect overheating).
Used Dscaler for tv (ecxelent picture, ultra fast channel switchig) and VDub for recording (Huffyuv lossless codec).
It was super card. On differnt forums I read:this card is good, this card is peace of  ....., but I think that every card is good as long it has good software.
Dscaler pulls maximum of the card out. For me is one of the best programs ewer written. :biggthumbsup:for the author !!
So I decided to buy something cheap. I bought MSI TV @nywhere Plus about 4 monthes ago.
Installation go smooth, MSI TVR works without problems, but TV picture was, like I ecxpected,  not even close Dscalers.
After many ours, managed to work it with Dscaler 4.1.15.
    Settings:  Card   Asus 7131D
                  Tuner  Philips TDA8275
For each channel choose right Format ( for me Pal-B) and frequency.
Picture is on channels with good reception like watching DVD, but channel switch is a little bit slow ( the card is not directly supported).
Note - Dscaler is just for watching, for recording is original Msi Tvr more than good.
I had problem to use Dscaler and Msi tvr together ( Msi tvr reports error - list index out of bounds), but i solved it -
send shortcut C:\Program Files\MSI\TV@Anywhere Plus\TVR\MSITVR.exe to desktop and run it from there.
Remember - dont ecxpect miracles with MSI TV @nywhere Plus but for this money ( 3 x cheaper then was my pctv pro), must say that MSI TV @nywhere Plus  is ecxellent card.
Hope, that I helped anyone with this.

glad you're enjoying it! i don't use my TV@nywhere Plus much, apart from to use it to play my Nintendo GameCube, but i think its an all round better solution than the TV@nywhere Master it replaced (as well as being much cheaper too). however, once you go down the Digital TV route, you'll never go back to analogue TV again

    You mean 'RCA' (phono) cables?
What software are you using? Have you set capture settings correctly? (should be composite-in)
That correct RCA cable, I'm using TV@Anywhere Plus software, it has 6 icons and red for a background. I can't find the capture settings. My options are Convert DC to AVI, FM, Watch and Record TV Programs, Edit MPG/DVD files, Burn to DVD, Video (which only ask for video source and sound source), Photo. I try to choose the camcorder but I don't see it in the system. It's hook up via RCA cables so I don't know.

install drivers from MSI web instead:
    http://www.msi.com/support/mb/X99S-SLI-PLUS.html#down-driver&Win8.1 64
which are the most recent one, USB 3.0 2014-11-28   Version   V4.90A
I have version 6.1.7600.4903, I'm not sure where MSI is pulling that v4.90A version number, but the .inf for the VIA USB 3.0 controller / hub is reporting a different version number.
Regardless of that, the driver provided from the website has already been installed. Before I swapped USB ports on my webcam I put that driver in. I am still having weird issues with my USB devices (specifically putting USB 2 devices in USB 3 ports I think).

    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=141925.0

If the IT guys dont have an idea why this happens, I guess this will not be easy to resolve.
Fact is that Tecra M11 was preinstalled with Win7 32BIT PROFESSIONAL system.
The CPU Intel Core i5-430M processor which is built in the notebook supports 64bit too. Therefore it should not be a problem to install, run and use the 64bit version.
    I recommend you trying this:
Go to BIOS, set it to default (F9), additionally change to AHCI mode.
    Save the changes.
No search on Intel page for Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) driver.
Add this driver during the Win 7 installation setup (F6)
But if this would not be possible, I guess there is something wrong with your Win 7 disk
As last option could be the installation on Win 7 using USB port.
You would need to create an bootable USB flash memory stick containing Win 7.
Check some step by step instructions in the net

  • Build question about the MOBO msi x99s sli Plus

I just started to build a new computer for the first time.  I have two questions (at this point, anyway) which I hope someone can answer.
    1.  When I attached the mobo to my new case (Corsair 760T) with the screws that came with the case, I noticed the middle riser is not like the other preinstalled risers.  It's more like a centering post.  I watched tutorials that said as much, but what I'd like to know is: Does that center post just stay as is?  Because unlike the other 8 risers, there's nothing for a screw to go into for the center post.  The mobo seems to be positioned correctly, but I'd like to know if that center post just stays as is.
    2.  My other question has to do with installing my new Kraken X-61  cooler over the cpu.  In several tutorials I've watched, it was stated to remove the back plate on the mobo behind the cpu and replace it with the plastic backplate that comes with the Kraken X61. cooler.  But when I look at the backplate behind the cpu on the MSI X99S SLI Plus mobo, there isn't any bolts to remove.  I also  noticed that the plastic backplate that came with the Kraken X-61 when adjusted to its widest dimensions, lines up with the socket on the top side of the MOBO where the Kraken X-61 heatsink gets connected with thumb screws iinto the socket on the MOBO.  Can I use the socket that's already on the MOBO?  If no, how do I take off the back plate on the bottom of the MOBO?
Hopefully you will understand what I am asking.

Thanks for responding.  I used the wrong term for the backplate in one sentence, calling it a bracket.  I meant plastic backplate.  But no matter, I got it installed.  You gave me a lot of relief, because there is no step-by-step directions with parts from four different manufacturers, so for a first-time builder with practically no technical know-how, it's not easy to know what to do.  Once done, I realized how simple it was, though.  The bracket on the Kraken x61 was already set and attached to the pump.  I just slipped it over the posts I installed for my socket type, and affixed it with the thumb screws.
    Thanks again

Just to recap. 1 ram stick is working in dimm 1. 2 sticks are working in dimm 1 and dimm 5 together. When i put the other two sticks in dimm 5 and dimm 7 i get no POST. I observe the cpu pins. Everything seems good. My friend as the exact same motherboard, processor and ram kit and the ram works. He has a Thermaltake power supply 875watts. So can the power supply we not enough ?
How did you manage to put 2 sticks in slot 5?
We already know one stick in slot 1 works.
We also know 2 sticks in slots 1 and 5 work.
And we even know that all 4 sticks in slots 1 3 5 and 7 do not work.
    Now try to focus.
    Take out all memory sticks.
Put one known good stick (that works in slot 1 or 5) and put it in slot 3. Does this work?
Now move the memory stick from slot 3 to slot 7. Does this work?

  • What MSI should do to fix MSI TV Anywhere Master !

able Of Content for below email:
    1) context
    2) essentials on how-to definitively fix MSI TV Anyhwere Master while  natively recovering your customers long-term trusting in MSI logo.
    - - - - - -DETAILS:
    1) My neighbors have recently bought 2 pieces MSI - TV Anywhere Master tuner cards by following my latest advices.
They both are students engaged by few media tasks in our campus to provide internal training by video samples and news broadcasts in local areas.
One of them told me his intention to even start some anti-MSI virtual campaigns through world-wide forums against your product as a reasoned revenge for huge effort with no results during lot of time-loossing trials to setup, stabilize and properly use your MSI proprietary software and drivers (MSIPVS-WinDVR) delivered by with this product's original package.
Now they claim as many others found on alike forums, all  money back and tens hours stress compensations from proximate shopping center cause these MSI tuner cards not working as they thought while comparing MSI product with other's alike.  It seems that MSI duped its long-term customers.
They tested on both licensed and updated Windows 98 SE and latest Windows XP Pro (latest service packs included) but received undesirable results that we will compact them as below to suggest you what and how to fix it.
    2) Best ways to fix it :
    I. redesign all its drivers to include that MSI "secret" proprietary strings-keys requested to keep full activated your TV Anywhere Master card (CX23881-19 chipset) anytime for any other tuner/capture application (other 3rd party software like ChrisTV Pro, DScaler, PowerVCR, Virtual VCR /freeware!!!)
Currently, all these better featured applications can setup and recognize most of your competitors alike cards (based on new 10-bit CX2388x chipset) but not yours MSI Anywhere !
It is worst way to freeze by default your customers expectations and usage development!
So, unlock your card by new drivers really compatible with Microsoft OSs so, nobody will complain anymore against MSI hurried & unfinished or less-featured products due to any software related issues!
Remind that you are one of greatest HARDWARE producer not SOFTWARE, so, better provide what you are to provide!   Let others much more trained for software purposes to do it and to compete among themselves while getting much more freely alternatives to promote your cards to an wider range of users with different skills and interests.
II. redesign MSIPVS-WinDVR's setup panel to recognize and include any codec previously installed in the system during its launching, like your competitors' above software already done it successfully !  Mostly focus on DivX for video and MP3 for sound and alike codecs which are mostly used and available today everywhere (>70%!) both licensed and freeware releases, comparing with those obsolete MPEG files!  There is no need to train yourself by own software cause you better ask people like Chris(TV Pro) to do it for you much better and cheaper!  Forgot about MPEG2 and MPEG4(yours!) cause are for nothing !  Your MPEG4 not works on others PCs while MPEG2 is no use for most customers due to large resources requirement with even lower performances than an very well-settled DivX, which needs ten times lower space!!
Go DivX 5x and MP3 for any software based encoding purposes is the only target for your recording settings panel!
Also for Win Producer /Win Coder which can not not administer DivX and MP3 correctly.  (ask VirtualDub to replace it cause it is working infinitely better!)
III. channel settings and scanning must be also redesigned to get more stable and transparent to the user: add a new column with its channel frequency and a real working stable control to FINE tuning and SAVE.
Finally, BEST is to setup a dedicated text file to save and launch all configurations within.  Anytime when push APPLY or SAVE, to write something in that file and then to read from there instead of use usually unstable system registry dynamic records.  In the same way, customer who want to fix something or really save their settings to preserve your cards and applications for unexpected failures, development etc, will be able to adjust on his own risk some settings which were not correctly settled by the application etc.
This is to provide much more reliability to this card usage and to compensate potential bugs in future releases.
IV. Provide an interface like above (III) to the enduser who  mostly demands to reconfigure remote control unit which is now too poor and not include essential controls like start/stop recording etc.  All remote controls to be written in a text file at also enduser disposal to modify shortcuts in order to reallocate remote control buttons to another panel controls etc.
    V. MSI-Radio tuner must have channel name (retrieved from FM table settings) displayed under the frequency and much more selectivity and real correct scanner (not use that "less stations" control).  It could be very demanded a wider range scanning from 30 MHz up to 110 MHz for many other locations.
Both for TV channels (see MSI-PVS to provide full tuning all frequencies including manually settings each channel!)
If it is hard to do it for Windows 98 release, provide them for XP at least but inside a better structured website than now.  In the present there are still many confusings and no stable procedure (that provided on the original CD has lot of bugs and missings risking to freeze the system!) regarding from where to download updates (too many different addresses to discover inside MSI-support site).  MSI TV Anywhere Master must have its own unique sub-site with all updates downloads included in the same page, both for drivers and for applications!   Also is a must to include WDM MS-8606 drivers instead of current ones to not receive anymore that error "nVIDIA WDM universal Capture" not found.
Please email me and my neighbor marcellino
([email protected]) when demands described above will get fixed !
Thank you in advance and wishing MSI good lock for better results!
    Regards,
    TekSam & marcellino
    ([email protected])

    Exactly my thoughts.
Probably they're even too affraid to give us some answers about how, what and where.
I had a previous descussion about an MSI mb that wouldn't accept a 40GB Maxtor hd. My asus mb didn't have a problem with detecting it.
Their reply was to flash to the latest bios version, which I already wrote that I did that in my e-mail to them.
A friend of mine had the same MSI mb, guess what???   same problem. His Dell pc, no problem.
Wrote back to MSI, waiting for 3 years now , never received an e-mail. (wrote a couple of reminders).
I now bought this tv nowhere card and I have the same problem as many people have....     alot of sh*t ....   and not working. No refund, 0 support, users must help other users to solve certain issues, --->  10 clean versions of winXP and hours and hours of stress
This will be the last MSI product that I will EVER buy.

  • MSI x99 SLI Plus Unstable

I just finished building my new PC with the following specs:
    MSI x99 SLI Plus
    I7-5820K
    16GB Corsair LPX 2666-15 Ram
    Evga GTX 980 SC
    Evga G2 SN 850W
I have been experiencing system instability. I updated the bios to the  latest 1.3 firmware. XMP Profile 1 enabled.
My PC randomly freezes unable to recognize keyboard or mouse inputs. I must hard reset at which time it reboots normally.
I ran Memtest86+ & it returned 8 errors during the first pass on test 6. Memtest86+ would also freeze during testing. I subsequently ran Windows Memory Test for 10 passes with no errors or freezes. I ran Memtest86 with all 12 logical cores in parallel for 25 passes with no errors or freezes. I reran Memtest86+ and have not been able to replicate the errors or freezing.
Today the PC froze & rebooted on its own. It was as if the power was being tripped as it would die turn on die turn on and then finally booted to a blank screen. The strangest part was that the on-board motherboard reset wouldn't work. I pressed the switch and nothing happened. I was able to reset the PC via the front panel switch. When the PC rebooted it displayed an error message about an overclock instability. I HAVE NEVER OVERCLOCKED the CPU! The only change to the bios was enabling XMP. The problem is very random and intermittent. Is it the Motherboard or RAM?

I upgraded my PC  a month ago with this bundle
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-023-OG&groupid=2833&catid=2512
which has the same MB/CPU combo and have been experiencing similar problems regarding stability. I've updated the BIOS to 1.3 and have run the Windows memory test without error.
I've tried several OC methods - the Overclockers UK setting, OC Genie and my own modest OC which involved just changing the CPU ratio to 38.
The Overclockers OC has never run successfully while the other two seem to run for one session OK but when I switch off then restart I get the 'Overclock instability' message.
It seems to run OK at the default setting though booting up can sometimes be problematic with it freezing intermittently at the MSI Logo page or at the Windows screen just before the animated logo starts.
Resetting then either solves the problem or produces the Windows error screen and selecting  'Start Windows normally' solves the problem.
BIOS B which I have never updated seems to run without issue.
I'm reaching the conclusion that this MB is inherently unstable at anything other than default settings.
