Moved back to entourage.....standard edition....

Hi,
i have discovered that sending attachments on Exchange using the web services does not work with files above 5mb (while my company goes up to 20mb). Both Mail and Entourage web service edition won't work. I reverted back to std Entourage and that works at least.
Any experience?

i find the resolution here...seems like the std EWS setting is 5mb.

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  On the guess that you're running the latest iPhoto, 9.4.2, Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the thumnails, Option #2.
2 - It may take 2-3 attempts so don't give up after only one attempt.

  • Problem Moving From the Standard Edition to the Enterprise Edition

    Hi !
I am trying to move from Oracle 10g R2 10.2.0.1 Standard Edition to Oracle 10g R2 10.2.0.1 Enterprise Edition.
Platform is MS Windows XP PRO SP2
I follow all steps described in "Oracle® Database Upgrade Guide 10g Release 2 (10.2)" - section Moving From the Standard Edition to the Enterprise Edition.
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14238/intro.htm#sthref10
The problem is that after update from St. edition to Ent. edition when I run:
    select * from v$version - I see :
    Connected to:
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
while I expect to see something like .....
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining Scoring Engine options
Am I wrong ? Why information in view v$version does not update after this ?

In your document you refer to the upgrade guide, this upgrade guide applies when you are upgrading from previous Oracle releases to 10g, not SE->EE.
If you want a procedure to upgrade the SE to EE, then follow this metalink note:
"How to Upgrade from Standard to Enterprise Edition ?
    Doc ID:      Note:117048.1"
If you performed this specific upgrade and you still see this error, then probably you are facing a bug, similar to the one described in "5844095", where the version is changed form SE->EE after 10.2.0.3 patchset application.
In your case it should be enough to apply 10.2.0.3 patchset to show it properly.

  • Focus issue with CardLayout (Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0_01)

I am having an issue with focus and CardLayout with Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0_01. I have created a small sample application to illustrate my problem. In general, I am trying to create a "Wizard" that the user will enter information and then press a "Next" button to proceed to the next step.
When the first card is displayed, the focus is on the first text field as expected.
When I go to the next card by clicking "Next", the focus is not on the text field that has requested it (through the requestFocusInWindow method). The focus is on the "Cancel" button, which is the next component to receive focus after the "Next" button on that panel. I do notice that if I use my mouse to bring focus to the window the text field will gain focus.
Similarly, when I proceed to the last card, the focus is not on the "Finish" button until the mouse moves over the window.
Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a bug with focus and CardLayout?
One other problem I have noticed is that the buttons no longer respond to the "Enter" key press and instead respond to the space bar. Any suggestions as to why this is the case?
    Thanks,

    Manfred,
Thanks for your reply. I tried requestFocus() and it gives the same results. Also Sun's 1.4.0 API (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/) mentions the following with respect to the requestFocus() method in the JComponent class:
Because the focus behavior of this method is platform-dependent, developers are strongly encouraged to use requestFocusInWindow when possible.
That is why I used requestFocusInWindow.

  • Lync 2010 Standard Edition Front-End and Edge Cerificate Renewal issue

    Hi Experts,
I have a client with Single Standard Edition FE server and 1 Edge server and both are using PUBLIC certificates. It also has a reverse-proxy server (F5 HLB) with wildcard certificate installed. The FE and Edge certificates are about to expire and the client
    now wants the ff.
    1. Internal Certificate from Internal CA server for FE
    2. External Certificate from Public CA for Edge
    What I did was,
    A. For Internal Cert - I generated a CSR from MMC cert manager using custom request from the FE server and have it signed by the Internal CA. Reason I did that was, everytime I requested the CSR from Lync Certificate Wizard, it is getting the certificate
template not supported by the Internal CA.
    B. For External Cert - I requested the Edge external CSR thru Lync Certicate Wizard and submitted to the client for public CA renewal.
When I installed both certificates, internal lync works fine but anything external (i.e. external lync access, mobile, federation) do not work anymore.
So I decided to roll back the certificates and everything went back to normal?
Question is, what steps or process did i miss or gone wrong? Hope for your response. Thank you in advance.

    Hi DaxZilla,
You also need to request a certificate to internal interface of Edge Server from internal enterprise certificate authority.
The certificate for the external edge interface should contain SANs as below:
    SAN=Access Edge service FQDN
    SAN=Web conference service FQDN
    SAN=SIP domain FQDN
Mobile client goes through reverse proxy server to sign in. It is not related with Edge Server. Check the certificate on reverse proxy is not expired.

  • Migration of Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard Edition to new hardware

    Hi
I have a Windows SBS 2011 Standard Edition installation, of which, the windows component is very buggy.  Everything on the server is working i.e. AD, Email.  I am unable to shutdown the server gracefully, i am unable to open the system manager.
Backups also are not running, so i don't have a proper backup that i can use.
I want to migrate my Windows SBS installation to some standby equipment which i have, then reinstall the old server with Windows SBS 2011 and migrate back from the standby equipment to the original hardware.
I know this is possible, and i know that Windows SBS 2011 gives a 21 days grace period to complete the migration.
Is the path i have mentioned above seems to be viable for me to try and get back to my original hardware, with a fresh installation of Windows SBS, keeping AD and Microsoft Exchange intact.
    Regards

Will not work as you have outlined it.  The installation of a new server installs a new SID and you cannot add SBS to SBS domains.  The only chance you have at this is to install a new non-SBS DC in the domain, export the mail assuming you are
using Exchange, move the shares to the new DC or some other system, pull out the SBS from the domain, move all the FSMO roles and have a stand alone Server Domain without SBS.  Then, add SBS back to the domain in the documented manner.
I suggest you contact www.sbsmigration.com for a documented and supported method to accomplish this migration.

  • Standard edition

Firstly please excuse me if I am talking rubbish as I am not the best at using nor understanding oracle.
I have been using MySQL an SQL Server for the last 3 years and only starting using oracle at work a few months back.
So I want a personal version on my pc, so downloaded the Enterprise/Standard/Personal edition for XP last night (1.30gb of it :) )
I am now installing it and selected the standard edition, but am confused on why I am able to select Enterprise or Standard? Is this evaluation software? If not surely people will download oracle for free and have enterprise on their servers for their website for nothing?!?!?
I would have installed personal edition but didnt because I am not running IIS on the same PC as I work from at home.
I have a 1.4ghz PC that I use for my server, and I currently have SQL Server and MySQL on there, so I am now installing oracle with it.
But if I was to install Personal edition I would be guessing that it wouldn't allow me to make any connections cos according to oracle I would not be localhost, is this correct?
So I didnt go for enterprise and went for standard, will that run ok? Could I make connections?
Hopefully I made sense and someone can help me out here :)
    Thanks
    Steve M

Well it doesn't really matter now as I have installed it and everything seems to connect fine from both machines and I have a connection with Cold Fusion also, cool :)
But I still want to know about this being the full version? Is the version I downloaded evaluation? If you know please tell me!!!!
    Thanks

  • Moving back to Arch, but got a few things I'm kinda 'scared' about :(

It'll be probably a week as I wanna wait for my new monitor to arrive, but I'm thinking about moving back to Arch.  I've used Arch before for a few months off and on, but I could never stay here, I don't know why but I just couldn't.  Anyone have any advice on what I should give a shot at this time?  I've only really used Openbox the last few times and I'm trying to stay away from KDE and Gnome.  What should I give a try and what's the learning curve for it like?  Also, if I were to add hard drives in at a later time, would they auto-recognize or would I have to mount them in /etc/fstab myself?  If so, how would I find the name of it (/dev/sdb4, etc)?
Is Arch even for me though?  I mainly do web dev, music, some games (which I think should work in wine), and graphics editing.  Now, I've bought the Adobe suite so would that run perfectly normal in wine or should I dual boot for that?  Or would a virtual box of Vista be enough for it?  Yes, I know it's Vista, but it's what I've bought (I must of been high when I did it to).  I'm not worried about RAM and CPU requirements for the Virtualbox, so would that be a better route than a dual boot.  Because every time I try and dual-boot I end up screwing something up and have to re-format anyways, so what would you suggest?
When I am ready, I still need to find some applications that would be useful for me in Arch, etc.  But how would this partition scheme work for something like this on a 750gb drive?
    /boot - 100mb
    / - 20gb
    /var - 200gb
    /home - rest of drive
Also, any applications you could recommend I give a shot for the last and hopefully good experience here.

E17 is a nice bit of fun, or you could try a straight up Compiz desktop. Personally I use Openbox, but i have been thinking about making a second user to try out a Compiz desktop without all of the Gnome or KDE clutter.
I'll recommend a VM over duel boot if you have the memory and CPU horsepower to back it up. (if it's less than 2 years old you're probably pretty good) The VM allows more flexible switching between the systems, you can set it to a specific desktop so all you have to do is switch between them with a keystroke, and it will run everything for Windows flawlessly, unlike Wine. (Not knocking wine but it's not perfect yet.)
    Welcome back!
    For apps:
web dev: you could try bluefish. I am not sure how it compares to others, but I rather like it. (Only used it for a class for about two weeks)
Music: depends on your style to be honest. if you really wanted to, you could use VLC to play music. There are more music players in Linux than any other type of app. At least from what I have found so far.
Graphics editing: Well there is always GIMP. It has a sharp learning curve, but it is just as functional as Photoshop. I think there is a Gimpshop that makes it more like Photoshop. Icescape is another one, and again high learning curve. (That might just be because I am still not exactly sure what Icescape is supposed to be used for...) There are others, but they generally are not on the technical level of Photoshop/GIMP.
Games...   Well there is a games repo that has a few nice things in it. If your games play in Wine, cool! If not, look for the VM that virtualizes the GPU so you get a little better gaming. If your really serious about the games, dual booting is the only way to go. (Hint for dual boots... install Windows first, then shrink it to to left side in Gparted, which is the beginning of the disk in English, before making partitions. Gparted does make it a little easier to do in my opinion.)
Edit: Ok...  minimalistic as possible...   hmm ...         Awesome  Ratpoison and perhaps Musica all seem to be the minimal types. dvtm with screen is another that just came to mind...

  • Implementing replication in Oracle 10&11 Standard Edition

I am implementing an oracle based application which will run under Linux/Oracle 10gr2 standard edition and which will soon be upgraded to Oracle 11g standard edition.
One of the requirements of the application is that a hot standby must be provided. To provide the hot standby, I must implement some sort of replication mechanism, but the nice replication features (data guard, streams, advanced replication, basic replication) are only available with Oracle enterprise edition.
    Two questions:
    1. It appears that I will be building a home-made replication mechanisms. I am planning on using insert/update/delete triggers and dblinks to trap database updates and propogate them to the standby server. (alternatively, may write them to files as SQL statements and have the second server load the files). Is their a better way to implement replication in Oracle SE. (esp. a feature of Oracle SE that I could be using to do this?).
    2. Oracle Advanced and Basic Replication are not shown in the Oracle 11 Editions Description web page which lists the availability of features across the various oracle versions. I assume it is still supported in Oracle 11, but is Oracle Streams now the "best practice" for implementing replication (i.e. instead of advanced replication?)
    Thanks in advance,
    Werner

    1) Having database triggers that use a database link is an exceptionally poor way of implementing a hot standby. If the database link goes down, or if the remote database is unavailable, the trigger will generate an exception and the parent transaction will be rolled back. Which means that the system is available only if both databases are available and the network between them is available, which is exactly the opposite of what a hot standby would be expected to provide.
    2) You most likely want to set up a manual DataGuard-like setup. Clone the database from one machine to another, keep the standby database in managed recovery mode, and copy archived log files from the primary to the standby periodically. You'll have to script that, of course, but that shouldn't be insurmountable.
    3) Basic replication (one-way materialized views) are available in the standard edition, but probably aren't the sort of thing you'd want to use to build a hot standby.

  • Log File Issue In SQL server 2005 standard Edition

We have database of size 375GB .The data file has 80 GB free space within .When trying to rebuild the index we had 450 GB free space on the disk where Log file is residing. The rebuild index activity failed due to space issue.added more space and got the
    job done successfully
The Log file has grow up to 611GB to complete the rebuild index.
version :SQL server 2005 Standard Edition .Is ther a way to estimate the space required for rebuild index in this version.
I am aware we notmaly allocate 1.5 times of data file. But in this case It was totaly wrong.
Any suggestion with examples would be appreciated.
    Raghu

OK, there's a few things here.
Can you outline for everybody the recovery model you are using, the frequency with which you take full, differential and transaction log backups.
Are you selectively rebuilding your indexes or are you rebuilding everything?
How often are you doing this? Do you need to?
There are some great resources on automated index maintenance, check out
    this post by Kendra Little.
Depending on your recovery point objectives I would expect a production database to be in the full recovery mode and as part of this you need to be taking regular log backups otherwise your log file will just continue to grow. By taking a log backup it will
clear out information from inactive VLF's and therefore allow SQL Server to write back to those VLF's rather than having to grow the log file. This is a simplified version of events, there are caveats.
A VLF will be marked as active if it still has an open transaction in it or there is a HA option that still requires that data to be available as that data has not been copied to another node yet.
Most customers that I see take transaction log backups every 15 - 30 minutes, but this really does depend upon how much data your company can afford to lose. That's another discussion for another day.
Make sure that you take a transaction log backup prior to your job that does your index rebuilds (hopefully a smart job not a sledge hammer job).
As mentioned previously swapping to bulk logged can help to reduce the size of the amount of information logged during index rebuilds. If you do this make sure to swap back into the full recovery model straight after and perform a full backup. There are
problems with the ability to do point in time restores whilst in the bulk logged recovery model, so you need to reduce the amount of time you use it.
Really you also need to look at how your indexes are created does the design of them lead to them being fragmented on a regular basis? Are they being used? Are there better indexes out there that can help performance?
Hopefully that should put you on the right track.
If you find this helpful, please mark the post as helpful,
If you think this solves the problem, please propose or mark it an an answer.
Please provide details on your SQL Server environment such as version and edition, also DDL statements for tables when posting T-SQL issues

  • Failover in 10g Standard Edition tips

    Hi guys,
We have an Oracle 10.2.0.5 Standard Edition Database in a Windows Server 2008 x64, and we were looking for a Failover solution. The idea is when the primary server could have a problem, automatically open in read/write mode the standby DB, and after repairing the primary DB, propagate the changes from the standby to the primary.
After researching, we had decided to create a Manual Physical Standby Database in another server, following this guide
We are now testing it and seems to work with no problems, but we like to know some tips or advices for that solution, or if it exists one better option for Failover in Standard Edition, from some experienced dbas from this forums. Can somebody help us with that?
    Thanks in advance!

How to programatically partition table in 10G standard Edition ?I had no idea (reading this thread) that 7.3's partition views were still supported. At the time (back in the mid 90's), we were explicitly told not to use this option for a large OPS data warehouse, by Oracle experts that assisted us in building and tuning the system. So never really used this option and thought it deprecated ifo proper partitioning introduced with v8.
I currently roll a my own partition-like feature on 10g SE - using dynamic SQL where a function is used to determine the table name. As all access to the tables are done via PL/SQL, this works fine (and bind variables are used all the way). On the client reporting side, we use APEX. APEX has the option of using a function (supplying the SQL) for reporting region, instead of coding the actual SQL. Again, PL/SQL is used to construct the source SQL (for the appropriate table) and given to APEX to parse and bind and execute as a report.
Of course, this is not nearly as flexible as the Enterprise partitioning feature, but it works fine for the (limited) job required.

  • Huge size scheme export in standard edition

    Hi,
    Source:-
Oracle 10.2.0.3 standard edition on Linux.
    Destination:-
    Oracle 11gR2 - enterprise edition.
I have to export a scheme of size 250+ gb, it taking long time to export as we do not have parallelism too in STD edition.
Is there any way? Where I can perform export & import faster?
Constraint is expdp of schema taking 30+ hours, so If transportable tablespaces, then is there any compatibility problem with source and destination versions and editions?
    An what is the procedure?
    Thanks.

Can i use 11gR2 binaries to perform TTS of 10g Std edition database?
You could concurrently run multiple export sessions with table lists --- but you wouldn't get data consistency if the tables are being updated. Thanks for your information.
This question is now out of TTS, talking in general expdp/impdp.
I have posted this question in Export/import division of Database, But no quick responses so i moved my question to Database-General.
Solomon Yakobson mentioned we can use 11gR2 binaries to perform export schema of 10g database, from below link.

Hope this will work. any more suggestions on this?
