Can't stop motherboard from overclocking on start up
Just put together a new computer for recording studio using parts from several old computers.
I used a MSI P35 Platinum mobo (not because i want to overclock, just thought it might be a great mobo)
on start up it stops and starts 4x and then says it's overclocked, then displays the CMOS,
I don't even have to change any of the settings, I can even select exit CMOS w/out saving changes and then it starts up. Can't figure out why this happens, Once up and going it runs great and doesn't overclock while running.
Whats causing this and how do I fix it ??

How can I stop iTunes from trying to start in another open user account?
When I run iTunes, it often tries to open in another open User account, causing distracting Windows warning tones. How can I stop it from trying to automatically open in the other account?
Close iTunes before switching profiles or disable fast user switching.

Can't stop IPhoto from opening at start-up
When I start-up IPhoto overrides everything, and becomes the defacto start-up application. Any ideas on what I can do to stop it?
Many months ago when I was using Leopard I had the same problem and found that the issue was in Image Capture. Since then I upgraded to Snow Leopard however here is what I think I did to resolve the issue:
1. Command Spacebar, then type Image Capture to launch the app
2. At the lower you will see the an upside triangle inside a box, click on that. If you see iPhoto chosen as a start up item then delete it and that should resolve the problem.
NOTE: I just tried to replicate this in SL however I see the box indicated in step 2 is now gone.

How can I stop Firefox from opening (to "File Not Found") when opening my Opera browser?
Ever since I installed Opera 10.61 on my new computer (Windows 7 Ultimate operating system), whenever I open Opera, Firefox opens one second later with the following error message:

This happens EVERY TIME I OPEN THE OPERA BROWSER. How can I stop this from happening? I'm stumped.

I had Opera set as my default browser since this began happening. I changed my default browser back to Firefox mainly because having Firefox open one or two seconds every time I open Opera was/is such a nuisance.
I believe this problem began because I attempted to manually transfer the files from my old computer to the new one (via the backed up files in my external drive). I was unfamiliar with Windows 7 when I did this. Microsoft changed the file set up from what I had been used to in Windows XP. I used XP for six years before being exposed to Windows 7 (I never had Vista).
I'm almost sure this problem has something to do with where I placed the application data when I was trying to reestablish the program set up on the new computer. -
How can I STOP iTunes from automatically trying to add podcasts to my iPod when I plug it in and sync it, so I can manage the files? I have already unchecked "Sync Podcasts" and "Automatically include,"yet EVERY time I sync it,it still transfers podcasts as the last step, and at other times randomly, when trying to just add some MP3's to a playlist, for example. I can't seem to find any other option to uncheck, and can't find an answer from my so-far internet searching.
erict, you blew me away with that suggestion! It was something so simple I couldnt believe I hadnt thought of it! But in the end it didn't work, which I was really surprised about. On Windows anytime anything was moved itunes was hoplessly lost, but on this mac it still kept up with everything. I tried renaming folders, moving folders, and even renaming moved folders but it still kept trying to import.
I even went as far as deleting EVERYTHING i had moved to the Mac, which didnt really work. It still kept trying to import what wasnt there which made it continue to freeze up. However, after doing this it, the freezing was not nearly as bad. It gave me enough of a break to cancel it through the itunes dialog box at the top of the app. So in the end, thats all I really needed to do, only before I had deleted everything the freezing would not allow me to do it.
So now Im reimporting everything again, only slowly, and only a few Artists at a time. -
HT204379 Why does my screen saver "zoom" in on photos from my iPhoto? Can I stop it from doing this?
I've recently moved up to Mtn Lion on a new MacBook Pro.
I finally figure out how to connect my iPhoto images with my screen saver (the way I alswyas did on previous Macs).
But the weird thing is that the Screen Saver zooms in on the photos! Sometime choosing a very uninteresting part of the photo to suddenly enlarge on my screen!
What gives with that? Can I stop it from doing this? It's like cropping my originals - many of which I have already cropped ...
Appreciate any help that you can give on this.The only fix here is to find a third-party screen saver that supports the behavior you want. Apple has adjusted its screen saver options over the years, and the latest ones are what you see in the system preferences.
The only way to change these behaviors is to hack the screen savers. The effects descriptions and some of the behaviors have settings in this folder:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Slideshows.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Cont ent
There may be a way to modify one of those settings to prevent the zooming for the given set of screen savers (or at least one of them), but I would not recommend modifying these files arbitrarily as you might break something (or at least make sure you have a full and restorable backup you can access before doing so). There are a couple of known modifications to them that can adjust some behaviors, but image zooming isnt one I know of. -

How can I stop iTunes from transferring purchased apps from iPad to my computer? I don't want them taking up space on my computer. iPad backups and apps on the cloud are enough to ensure my apps are backed up, so I don't understand why they need to be on iTunes too. I'm running Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.5 and iOS 7.0.6.

As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

How can I stop Firefox from automatically upgrading? My on-line college is not compatible with the upgraded version. I have to keep uninstalling the new one and reinstalling the old one.
It's not a good idea to allow websites to redirect to another site until you know for sure the original site is trustworthy.
But if you still want to do it (again not a good idea).
Tools>Options>Advanced>General - In Accessibility, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect..." option. -

You can share the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: here
But for all other Apple services like:
FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc, one of you should use a different Apple ID. -

Yes, under the Settings for the store, you can turn off the auto download for purchases, that way if you purchase an app on another device it will not automatically download on that device. You would need to do this on both your iPad and iPhone.

iPhoto has detected faces of people I dont know, in my 'iPhoto faces' whenever I click the cross in the corner of the face (when sorting faces) the face temporarily disappears, but once I have uploaded a fresh batch of photos (and want to identify new faces) it automatically re-identifies the old photos that I don't want to have to sort again. How can I stop iPhoto from reidentifying faces I have already 'crossed', while still being able to identify and sort new faces.

As given, removing from the library causes the songs to be removed during sync. So the space taken up is neccessary... What would you do if your iPhone where lost, stolen, damaged or needed to be restored?
If you ned more room for storage buy a bigger drive. In fact buy two, one to use as a backup for your library and all your other important files.
