MOVED: 「Display driver has stopped working and recovered successfully」

Does this happen when you run the game by using dGPU(NVIDIA graphics) or iGPU(Intel graphics)?
(Check the color of your power button light, it lights red when dGPU is running and blue when iGPU is running)
Does this happen on all games you play or just one single game?
Tell your current graphics driver version(both NVIDIA and Intel graphics driver).
If you're running the game with NVIDIA graphics, check your vbios version in NVIDIA control panel(Right click on the desktop> NVIDIA Control Panel> System Information>Video BIOS). There is version 80.04.EF.00.22 released on the MSI website, and if you have a different one, I'd suggested to update the VBIOS and see if the problem still remains.

  • 「Display driver has stopped working and recovered successfully」

    I have a MSI GS60 2PC GHOST laptop.
Graphic Driver: Intel HD Graphics 4600
When I was playing a game on my laptop, it suddenly lagged or the game screen turned black, then recover, turned black then recover... multiple times and each time I get a message saying that the "display driver has stopped working and recovered successfully" on the bottom right.
I have tried updating the graphic driver and it worked for about an hour or so, and the problem came back.
Need help in solving this problem!

  • "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding And Recovered". I still have it after repair.

After some amount of email trouble shooting I sent the PC to bench repair.  It came back with the declaration
Repaired (the problem was duplicated during full diagnostics).
It isn't clear what they did to repair it. One box is checked-
    Bios
    Update/driver
    Update
The problem reappeared after a day of operation.  I don't think it is related to any apps on this computer because it occurs most frequently while using Firefox- most of the PC useage and Excel.
It occured two times as I have been on the HP support forum.
I have been away from the computer for a few days.  Tomorrow I think I should ask HP for a new computer.
Actually I am starting to wish  I hadn't bought HP.
I know at least one or two others who have had a similar problem.  I suspect more people have.  Is this likely a systemic problem with the motherboard or video board this PC uses?  Or a monitor problem?
As I have said previously the monitor will freeze for a second or two, black out briefly and come back to life with the error message.

  • Satellite P300: Display Driver has stopped working using external monitor

I have a number of these Satellite P300 PSPCCA-OC201Y and recently bought external monitors for them.
Since then we seem to be getting "Display Driver has stopped working and has recovered" messages, then after about 5 of these, it crashes.
Starting with one machine, I have updated display drivers, bios was current, all to no avail.
I then did a complete system restore back to original. Has not solved the problem.
    Any ideas?

    hi Keven Dickenson,
as you said you restored the system and still there is no way to get things work it may be a hardware issue...
i my opinion you should consult a servicepartner to check this out...
is there any of the machines working with the external monitor at all?
if none of them is able to connect to ext. display maybe your installation has a problem or the monitor is faulty...
try it with another monitor and recover one system to factory installation....

  • Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered - Intel HD (Satelite P75-A7200)

I am trying to play minecraft on my Toshiba Satelite P75-A7200 running Windows 10 preview build 10130 . The game starts up ok and I can start playing it but then, anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes later the Minecraft window locks up. It shows a "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error in the lower right of my laptop screen. The Java Platform SE binary process shows as not responding when I open task manager. I have tried updating drivers direct from Intel, The latest would not install onto Windows 10 (Not a valid OS), Changing the Windows TDR timeout in the registry to 8 (no effect), and simply deleting the display devices and file associated with them and allowing the system to add them back. I am out of ideas at this point. Please help.

When I first got my P750, right out of the box I was having the same type of issue you are describing here. Only mine had to do with playing a dvd in the Toshiba DVD player. Regardless, after many attempts to fix the issue, the following shows a method of how I was able to fix it. It may or may not work for you, all I can say is it worked for me.http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Video-Display/Display-driver-error/m-p/299816 My solution is down near the bottom of page 2 and basically it had to do with Nvidia and Intel driver compatibility. I hope this helps.

  • Ever seen the error "ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally"?

Have a user who hasn't used E-test in about a year. He has version 8.01.0249 with IE 7.0 and is getting an error running a script: "Windows display driver stopped responding. The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally . . . .".
On a different machine with E-test 7.0 with IE 7.0, the same script works fine.
Should I have him upgrade to version 8.20.0526? Also, assuming I upgrade his version, why does the same script work with E-test 7.0?
    THANKS!

    Hi,
It would be better to upgrade to version 8.20.0526. Prior to eTest Suite 8.20.x there was no support for IE 7. There were some cases where eTest Suite would work with IE 7, but it was not consistent since the product did not has IE 7 contemplated in the design. That can explain why it works with e-Test Suite 7.0.
Additionally in 8.20.526 there are several additional features that makes the tasks easier, and there are several bug corrections that can save you time when troubleshooting scripts.
If you are planning to use eTester for Load testing scripts I would recommend moving to 8.20.0569, which has additional bug fixes that can save you a call to support.
You may want to contact your Empirix Sales Rep in order to know if your license would work with the latest version of e-Test Suite or just install it and try the license.
Once you install e-Test Suite 8.20 make a quick test to see if it works with your web application, then, consider the alternative of upgrading all the other computers that will have eTest Suite. It's better to work in a consistent environment where everybody has the same version because you will ensure compatibility of scripts and configuration settings, it will be easier to maintain your environment, and it will be easier to troubleshoot computer problems since you should all have the same configuration.
e-Test Suite 7.0 may not be supported since it's older than two releases than the current one, even if the script work with e-Test Suite 7.0 I would look for the upgrade.

  • Intel display driver has stopped working properly, distributed by Lenovo

Toshiba Satellite L355-S7915 with Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 32-bit:  Keep getting "Intel display driver has stopped working properly and has recovered" when turn on computer or log on with new user.  Driver version is 7.15.10.1829.  This is more of an annoyance, which I can enter through and continue, but I would like to get the messages to stop.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Me too, only I am using a desktop through e machines with an Intel 82945G Express Chiplet Family.  And my pc just crashes and it is getting very annoying! for the longest time Vista couldn't provide a solution and today is sent my to Lenovo.  I may be out of touch with the tech world but to my understanding I don't have anything "Lenovo" unless thats the new fancy name for Intel.  But I can't seem to find a solution for this problem and am sick of it!  Any advice? thanks and happy holidays!

  • HD 5770 HAWK: ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally

I keep crashing to desktop with an error dialog "ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally" while playing Trackmania United. The crash is into a 640x480 4-bit color desktop from 1920x1080 32-bit.  I updated to latest drivers for the video card and bios, and I am not maxing out my card when playing this game, it is fairly average.  I don't get this error playing other games on higher settings.  This behavior is fairly consistent.  Additionally in TMU I keep having saturation and contrast flactuations: saturation loops between highly saturated to barely saturated and then repeates over about 30sec-1min.  The looping is very smooth.  Any help in resolving this issue is appreciated.  Thanks

Well, any window I have open on the desktop, iTunes, Firefox, IE, etc when I move that window around, or if I resize it, the content inside that application window is repainted very sluggishly.  I would say it takes about 1/8 to 1/4 of a second to redraw.  With iTunes I can see the repaint take maybe 1/2 second from top to bottom.
This happens at any time I am in the desktop.
That sounds like there's something not right with the graphics drivers.
Also, check your monitor refresh rate is set right.
How about testing with some older drivers to see if there's any change. Either use the ones from the CD that came with the graphics card or use the ones in this >>link.<<
A useful utility to remove old parts of drivers is Driver Cleaner Pro. You might want to give it a go if you choose to try other drivers. Available >>here.<<

  • My iTunes has stopped working out of nowhere. When iTunes is opened it displays "iTunes has stopped working" and windoes automatically closes it saying it will look for a soluton. What do I do? I have un-installed it and re-installed multiple times.

My itunes has stopped working out of nowhere. When I open iTunes a message appears stating "iTunes has stopped working." and windows closes iTunes sayng it will look for a solution. I have Windows 8.1 64-Bit and have been using iTunes 11.1 (or the newest one out there). I have un-installed and re-installed multiple times. The same message continues to pop up.

    Hi biazonmg,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  If iTunes is unexpectedly quitting when you open it, this article has steps to isolate and troubleshoot that:

  • My disk drive has stopped working and just ejects everything.

My disk drive has stopped dworking. I was just trying to import a CD to iTunes and it just spins it around and rejects it. I've tried with other CDs also and this does the same thing. Please help!

You may have a dirty disk drive or you may need a replacement. First try a disk lens cleaner.

  • Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered. bsod if I use mercury hardware acceleration

Hi, I bought a cheap NVIDIA card to go alongside my GTX285 to allow me to use a third monitor for timeline playback. I've done this before with an ati card with no issues but needed to change to a single height card to get the extra slot back.
It installed it's drivers and then whenever I opened premiere CS6 it would immediately hang and blue screen. I removed the card and rolled back to old drivers but no change. NVIDIA support gave me beta drivers but no change either. They suggested that my card or motherboard was faulty. (Motherboard is a EVGA Sr2) Eventually I found I can edit normally if I turn off hardware acceleration for the mercury playback engine and leave it as software only. Not much use when my GPU supports CUDA.
Even now the display driver keeps giving me the "stopped responding" message with or without premiere open so I'm thinking there is some hardware issue somewhere. The Blue screen only occurs when I use mercury hardware acceleration.
    I have ordered a GTX470 because I can't afford to spend hundreds on a 690 etc.
The current driver version is 306.97, error occurs in CS5 and CS6
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Michael.

The reason the ATI card worked was because that is completely 2 separate drivers. That makes it easier for the OS to sort out the device ID's although that can cause issues with some applications and the ram shadowing done by Win 7 compositing mode. However when you use 2 Nvidia GPU's, the drivers are essentially the same as far as what the OS see's but they have completely different support for things like Direct X. This often can cause major issues with drawing out on the screen. The other issue is the 2 cards may not have resource charts that are far enough apart to avoid resource issues. If you cant return the 470 card then you may want to try a 1GB 620 card for the 2nd video card and see if that will work. That will minimize the resource shadowing and hopefully run the 600 series card in the Direct X version the 400 series card will run.

  • GT 660 Display Driver has stopped responding and has now recovered

    Hello,
The above is a rough interpretation of the message I got.
Things seemed normal and then the screen would go blank until I moved the mouse (at which point I would get the message). This happened twice and I headed over to this forum when it started happening again and again till I got the BSOD. I am using driver version 270.61 and am now downloading the latest drivers. Prior to this The laptop would freeze or give a red screen occasionally until I forced restart. I was told it could be a dusty GC, but is the display driver not responding problem related to the dusty GC? I haven't cleaned it because I simply don't have the time these days.
    Thank you.

Meaning? If it's what I think it is: Screen turns red in total?
Then it looks to me your videocard is going bad or overheating.

  • Equium A100: DVD/CD drive has stopped working code 22

Toshiba Equium A100 on Vista operating.
DVD/CD drive has stopped working and is showing as disabled. Have tried to re-enable but error code 22 returned. Can anyone help?

    Hi
The Microsoft page provides these details about error code 22
*This device is disabled. (Code 22)*
    _Recommended resolution_
+Enable the device by using Device Manager.+
+In Device Manager, click Action, and then click Enable Device. This starts the Enable Device wizard. Follow the instructions.+
It looks like you have already tired this. Well, in your case I would recommend removing the CD/DVD drive from the device list in the device manager. Just simply mark the device an press delete.
Then restart the notebook and check what happens.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
If nVidia and Firefox won't play nice I'm going to have to drop Firefox.
I believe the problem actually is with nVidia, because installing GeForce 275.33 Driver and earlier WHQL drivers eliminates the problem.
But changing video cards costs money, whereas changing web browsers is free.
Hence my statement, "If nVidia and Firefox won't play nice I'm going to have to drop Firefox."
It is not fair, but it is reality.
nVidia is ignoring the issue, because it knows we can cheaply bypass their bugs by switching browsers. (With other people they've pointed fingers at power supplies, mother boards, you name it, anything to pass the buck.)
I am not interested in bypasses. I am only interested in actual fixes.
In other words no jumping through hoops with manual procedures, driver sweeper, unplugging to stop windows update, or stupid actions like deleting all my Windows Restore Checkpoints, etc. Except for deleting all my Windows Restore Checkpoints I've done all that.
That nVidia suggest this suggests to me that the bug is actually in their install or uninstall scripts. The problem with their bypass is it introduces race conditions so it does not work on my system or many other nVidia 400 and 500 series graphics cards.
I've tried all the WHQL nVidia drivers since 275.33 and they all have this problem. So does the latest beta (I seldom ever do betas any more, but I made an exception).
Do a vanilla clean install using the standard install script included with the old 275.33 nVidia drivers and the problem does not occur.
If this is not going to be fixed, if we're going to be left with just bypasses, my bypass will be to change web browsers.
+++ So, can Mozilla somehow please light a fire under nVidia's feet? +++
I really do not want to change browsers, but it is the cheapest solution by far.

There are some open bug reports on Nvidia's drivers. We can open a new bug (if you want to go that route, let me know the bug number and I will triage it), but all that Firefox can [usually] do is blacklist the driver so that HWA isn't run on that driver.
Your best bet (for now) is to disable HWA yourself and that should resolve the crashes

  • "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has since recovered"

I own a Satellite A205-S5000, and this morning it starts throwing fits. The screen turns black for a second or two, and then it displays an error message in the bottom right-hand corner reading, “display driver igfx stopped responding and has since recovered”. I’ve searched both Microsoft and Toshiba for an answer, and have yet to turn up a decent solution. The solutions I found said to update my drivers (the most recent driver updates on the Toshiba website that I didn’t recognize were for Windows 7, which I don’t have), or to change some of my graphic settings (which I don’t understand why a computer purchased in 2008 would be having a problem with now and not before). I also read somewhere that it could be from remnants of a virus, but I’ve ran Norton and not picked anything up, and I doubt Malware will either. So, is this something serious? Is it something I need to worry about? Any kind of solution would be appreciated.

Oddly, I ran Malware (and still didn't come up with anything), shut it down for the night and voilà! I haven't had it pop back up since. Still don't know what caused it to start in the first place, though. :<
