oki, that's some very early bios release even below 1st one, and its beta version
make me wonder if your board is some kind of engineer sample
can you tell S/N of your board?

  • Mainboard that supports Hardware Virtualization?

If I am correct the AMD AM2 x2 6000+ CPU supports Hardware Virtualization.
Is there any MSI MB that also support VT?
The information is very vague and I do not really want to go to Gigabyte for this.
       Thanks, Tom

Tough nut to crack, the info. is not always revealed but hidden in BIOS and stuff, but here is something:

You do mean the Intel system for hardware virtualization? Please be aware that not all motherboards can handle the 125 Watt processor.

  • [Motherboard] MSI Motherboard supported NVMe device. 3X Faster

[Motherboard] MSI Motherboard supported NVMe device. Comes Testing of X99S GAMING 7 and Intel P3700
Here is third party news, please check PVEVA review as below
    ------------------------resource:http://bbs.pceva.com.cn/thread-113902-1-1.html------
I heard that MSI has updated BOIS recently. From now on, all the 9 Series motherboards support NVMe device. As a result, I borrowed a NVMe SSD Intel DC P3700 400GB from MSI and tested it
Intel DC P3700 have equipped with PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, capacity from 400GB to 2TB,what I borrowed is 400GB version just looks like normal PCIe SSD.
    Why the SSD uses PCIe?
SATA 6Gb/s is fulfilled with traditional Hard Disk, but the speed is far from the SSD. With the PCIe, it helps to increase and extend the connection function. And help to improve the performance.。
    AHCI compare to NVMe
While Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) interface has the benefit of legacy software compatibility, it does not deliver optimal performance when a SSD is connected via PCI Express bus. NVMe has been designed from the ground up, capitalizing on the low latency and parallelism of PCI Express SSDs, and fulfilling the parallelism of contemporary CPUs, platforms and applications. NVMe brings various performance improvements is the reason why it was burned
The NVM Express, Inc. is directed by a thirteen-member board of directors selected by the promoter group, which includes Avago Technologies, Cisco, Dell, EMC, Intel, NetApp, Oracle etc. and develop by around eighty companies.
NVM Express, NVMe, or Non-Volatile Memory Host Controller Interface Specification (NVMHCI), is a specification for accessing solid-state drives (SSDs) attached through the PCI Express (PCIe) bus.
The biggest advantage of NVMe is the lowest latency. Because of streamlined storage stack method, NVMe can command without registers. However, each command of AHCI needs four unbuffered registers and it will cause 2.5 μs data latency.
The other important revolution of NVMe is supporting more queues and this technology can enhance Muti-Core of CPU’s performance; the IOPS will not be influenced by single-core of CPU.
Enterprise market will be huge benefits from NVMe. NVMe technology could reduce the HD loading and extend the battery life indirectly.
In conclusion, PCIe hardware interface brings a high-bandwidth (sustained R/W performance), thank for native PCIe controller, it reduces latency controller (R/W performance under low QD upgrade, if it is directly connected to the CPU PCIe lanes , the performance is more obvious when the CPU overclocked). Also, NVMe software interface software is reduced latency of software.(random R/W performance of multi-core CPU under high QD)
Let’s comes to the actual testing. To avoid decrease the Link Speed of graphic card, we put P3700 at second PCIe slot.X99S Gaming 7 supported the NVMe from the BIOS version 17.6 last year.
    Test basic:
    CPU:Intel Core i7-5960X
    Motherboard:MSI X99S GAMING 7
    Memory:Avexir DDR4-2400 4GBx4
    Graphics card:MSI GTX 660 TwinFrozr
    HD:
    Plextor PX-128M2P(system)
    Intel DC P3700 400GB(Test 1)
    Plextor PX-G512M6e(Test 2)
    Power supply:SilverStone SX-600G
    Cooler:Noctua NH-D14
    OS:Windows 8.1 Update 3
The driver from intel official website is much more compatibility than the NVMe driver original from Win 8.1.
    Download link : https://downloadcenter.intel.com ... =3810&DwnldID=23929
During the testing, we need to do security eraser several times, therefore; we need to download the Intel Data Center.
    Download link : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23931
Device manager of P3700 NVMe device in Windows 8.1
SMART information should be checked from Intel Data Center. CrystalDiskInfo can’t read
    Wear Leveling:
The following is benchmark test. ASSSD Benchmark and CrystalDiskMark software cannot push SSD performance to extreme level, so we use TxBench to test the performance of 32GB data transmission. TxBench in Win8.1 with native driver, sequential read is up to 1375MB/s and write is 1072MB/s. In 4K single QD test, there is not big difference between SATA3.0 and PCIe. In other side, the performance of 4K QD32 test, SATA3.0 is 50% better than PCIe.
After installing NVMe driver, the performance of sequential R/W is dramatically improvement. Especially in read function, the performance is directly double to 2800MB/s, achieving the highest level we never saw. It’s the real performance of this SSD.
As I mentioned before, native PCIe controller could decrease the latency of SDD. The R/W performance increase after CPU overclock to 4G as well.
Compare to PCIE 2.0 x2 AHCI by Plextor PX-G512M6e
    overall review:
    Conclusion:
I just introduce the overview of VVMe technology and the Intel P7300 basic performance. We found out that the advantages of NVMe comparing to the AHCI, it will be more and more common in the future.
MSI 9 series motherboards supported NVMe device. Although NVMe is not popular, MSI keep the scalability of the motherboards. In the next article, we will test P3700 under business environment to see the performance and advantage.

  • Does MSI P67A-C45 supports the latest Sandy bridge Celeron (G530,540 etc)

    Hello all,
Firstly, I'm the new user here, and I found this forum when I'm in the process of 'googleing' for my new system problems...
Okay, I'm the 'proud' user of MSI P67A-C45 motherboard and due to some sort of fund problems, I just bought this mobo and use the lowest end Sandy Bridge line processor, which is Celeron G540 processor. After getting the enough money somewhere around March next year, I will straightly change my processor to Core i5-2500K (which I assume it will be more cheaper than now)... After installing everything on my new rig, suddenly there are no BIOS shown up at all. The power is available, all of the LED's as well as my heat sink fan are running finely. I'm suspecting that this kind of mobo does not support Celeron G540 processor... So how? Anyone here can help me to resolve this problems... It really ruined my day and now I'm typing this on my netbook which irritating.... Some of my friends said that it must be BIOS related problems... because Celeron is just launched recently and perhaps the BIOS bundled with my motherboard are the older one..... Below is my full rig specification...
Processor : Intel Celeron G540 Processor
    Motherboard : MSI P67A-C45 (B3)
RAM : Corsair Value RAM 8GB DDR3 1333MHz (two sticks of 4GB RAM each)
    GPU : Sapphire HD6750
    Power SUpply : Xigmatek NRP-PC502  500W
    Casing : CM Elite 431
    HDD : Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
    SSD : Mushkin 60GB SATA-III SSD
** Planning to replace send back the celeron to the seller and change it to Core i3-2100, Core i3 is usable or not with this mobo?
Thanks guys and I really apologize for my bad English... It's not my mother-tongue language actually

You have BIOS 1.9 which should support all of the CPU's you mentioned.
Have you plugged in the 4 pin CPU power (JPWR2) on MB & 6 pin to video card PCIe power plugs?
Yes, I already connected 4-pin cpu power as well as 6-pin PCIe power connector both to my motherboard and graphic card, but the system still refuse to shown up the POST screen... :(  BTW, I already change the processor from Celeron G540 to Core i3 2100... Waiting for the stock available from the seller...

  • Does nvidia chipset drivers have trim support?

Specific motherboard NF980-G65, and SSD Drives in question are Plextor M3 Series PX-128M3 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-249-014&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2 and My older one ADATA S596 Turbo AS596TB-64GM-C 2.5" 64GB USB 2.0 & SATAII Internal / External Solid State Drive (SSD) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211479. I heard that using the Microsoft Drivers was better then using the Nforce Drivers from this post http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/61869-ahci-enable-windows-7-vista.html?ltr=A. My ADATA SSD drive Sata port died somehow and Plextor drive is the new one ima get soon so doing some research the MB only suport Sata II  but the Plextor is Sata III and I think backwards compatable why I might not get full speed out of the drive I wana optimise it as best I can as the main Boot up drive as I have 2 matching 1 Terrybyte WesternDigital Sata drives for storage/other games installed on. So Leave Nforce drivers after I install them or use Microsoft's tryign not to install the Nforce's or do a update driver after and switchign back to Microsoft's I know both drives support Trim as via there decription and as of now on this backup Sata Drive trim command via dos promt shows trim is enabled in windows but does the motherboard/nforce drivers support it? (I will be back to check on this post for idea's sugestions and responces to any more info that is needed)

ahh okie what about AHCI for the single SSD drive not in any raid array or anything? as I was reading on another page > AHCI and SSDs
Typically, many hardware review sites, as well as SSD manufacturers are recommending that AHCI mode is used with SSD drives. However, we have run our own tests here in the forum, and we believe this is misleading, only where SSD drives are used independently (ie not in a RAID array). from the MSI HQ User-to-User FAQ Hm now that I think about it I think I ment AHCI Not Trim. Must edit the other post.

  • Motherboard MSI MS-6380 ATX (Via K7T266A Pro2)

In the user manual of my motherboard (MSI MS-6380 ATX (Via K7T266A Pro2)), I can read that supports socket-A (socket-462) AMD processor from 800Mhz up to 1800+ Mhz processor. I would like to upgrade my processor. Does anyone have an idea if this Motherboard will support the CPU AMD Sempron 2400+. This processor has a FSB of 266Mhz (what is supported by the motherboard) and the same socket (socket-462) ? Maybe a upgrade of the bios will make that possible ?
    Thanks in advance,

The Sempron CPU's are 333FSB, and cannot be used on that board. There is an Athlon XP2400+ that uses a 266FSB, and these can be used on some versions of the K7T266Pro by doing a modifaction. See here
Without the modifaction, a Palamino core CPU is the highest supported CPU (Athlon XP 1800+ and lower)

  • Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?

    Hi,
I tried to install the Cisco_MOC_RCC_Plug-in.msi on a Windows 7, 64 bits. (CUPS is 7.0.8, the plug-in is coming from the CUPS server)
I use the command line, I receive the installation windows, do a complete install. But, after I don't see the Cisco Phone Selection tab in the MOC.
The same steps works properly on Windows XP, 32 bits.
I verified the Cisco document but they never mention the OS supported by the RCC plug-in.
Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually, it is mentioned on the CUPS server itself on the page of the plug-in download (CUPS Server admininstration > Applications > Plugins > ..).
    Here is a copy/paste from CUPS 8.0.4.x -
"The Cisco Unified Presence Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) 2007  Remote Call Control plugin allows MOC users to select which phone line  they wish MOC to control. When installed, the plugin will expose a CUP  web page within the MOC application where users can change their current  MOC phone line of control. This version is supported on Microsoft  Windows XP/Vista"
Although it doesn't mention windows 7 (32/64) (meaning dev team haven't tested it to certify), please feel free to give it a try.
    Thanks

OK first never put the Bios on pins 2/3 and start the machine. That is a clear Bios signal and shorts the battery to clear the Bios. Put the jumper back on 1/2 and shut the machine down with the switch on the back of the power supply. Then switch the jumper to pins 2/3 for a few seconds and put it back on 1/2. Then you can power up again.

There is no other bios. Furthermore your notebook is not verified to be update-able for Windows 8: http://event.msi.com/2012/know_win8/upgrade.html
MSI won't support a Win 8 upgrade for this notebook in any way. Therefor there won't be drivers nor bios versions updated for Win8. If it works is up to your trying.
