MOVED: Extremely Low Performance - nvidia gtx 860m - MSI GE60 2PE-489XPL

Have you tried the official graphic drivers (both Intel & NVIDIA) from MSI?
http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GE60-2PE-Apache-Pro.html#down-driver
Select your OS and proceed to download them.
Usually Intel & NVIDIA drivers are generic and they won't support some OEM machines which were equipped with some specialized graphic cards quite well. Sometimes workarounds and fixes are missed or not patched in generic drivers after some periods so they may cause some problems.

    Hi,
I've got problem with my graphic card. I have tried to upgrade my video drivers(to most recent one) with nvidia experience, and it showed me a critical error (I dont know if bad performance is becouse this error, or error was an effect of something else). Then all games became laggy, I cannot get more than 10 fps in games like dragon age or farcry 3 (before it worked just fine), when I'm doing 3dmark test it shows me:
    3DMark 11 - 850 pts (700 from graphic performance, 4000 from physics);
3DMark Vantage - 17000 pts (so quite good, as it should be)
I have tried doing 3DMark 11 tests on different battery mode, with or without a/c connected, and after changing the drivers, always the same. I have reinstalled all the drivers and everything what is connected with graphic card (I coudnt reinstall directX 11), I have changed global settings of nvidia drivers for high performance (I set 860m as my main graphic card). Ive made clean install of drivers. What should I do next? What can I do next? I've bought witcher 3 and I can only look at it
    My laptop: i5-4210H (2.9 GHz, 3.5 GHz Turbo, 3 MB Cache), 8gb DDR3 (1600 MHz), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 2gb, Intel HD 4600, Windows 7

  • FPS / Stuttering Issues (Overheat , Speedstep Issues ? ) MSI GE60 2PE APACHE PRO

    **EDIT**
Unable to post direct image links , please ad HTTP:// before links
Good evening Fellow Gamers and Adepts.
I come to you tonight with a serious doubt , which has rattled me for a while , and after some intense troubleshooting i have came up blank.
    Here's the deal , as stated , i have a MSI GE60 2PE apache Pro
Now , playing cs go has been the bane of my existence, i am aware there are heating issues with this laptop , but those have been fixed by a Thermal repaste, a cooling pad and the backplate removed.
Now i have no more throttling of CPU , and GPU appears to handle fine aswell; the thing is i keep having MASSIVE lag spikes in CS:GO , and apparently they are being cause by CPU issues.
    Image for clarification .
(Standart situation , notice the relative low fps for a old game)
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80
After a few seconds the following occurs
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#1
Notice the fps drop and the CPU frequency percent alert in game
another shot of this in console so you can see the several occurrences
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#2
now keep in mind that these are the lowest game settings, in Fullscreen windowed mode , if i even CONSIDER putting it on standart fullscreen i get unplayable jitterness and fps that range from 10 to 80 , all in a second.
Now , as i have stated i have fooled around and disabled speedstep in the bios , meaning that the cpu is always at 100%, seeing i have removed the backplate , throttling is not an issue as IXT (Intel extreme tuning) can attest.
note aswell the "active core count" spikes to 4/3 in the exact moments of the stutters, meaning that both problems should , in theory , be connected .

can ANYONE give me an ideia of whats going on ? i rather enjoy playing with games with friends , but this is driving me up the wall..
Lastest NVIDIA / Laptop drivers installed ; Bios Updated and EC firmware aswell.
Thank you for your time guys x)

Not every seller can allow you to remove the bottom cover.

  • Overcharging on msi ge60 2pe

Is it okay if overcharging my laptop that is msi ge60 2pe?

    https://shop.msicomputer.com/app/storefront/ProductDetail.aspx?ID=1461

  • Msi GE60 2PE 's dragon shield protector

    hello there,
a few days ago, i bought an msi GE60 2PE, and it was great
however, me and people in my class room accidentaly scratched the dragoonarmy shield (on the laptop's back) and the protector sticker kinda peeled off abit.
    1. will the dragon shield be safe without that protective sticker?
    2. is there anywhere where i can buy more of those stickers?
    thanks :D

well it depends i think it's made out of plastic so i think it can be scratched easly but if you take good care of it making sure it's in a cover and so whole laptop it should be fine without being scratched
is the quality above, same, or below the shiny apple logo on the back of macbooks? (for comparison)

have you tried disabling creative cinema software? and see if issue remains? since i noticed that could be cause of mine doing no noise some times in windows and such.

  • X4500 with xf86-xorg-intel, extreme low performance

    Hi there!
I got a T400 with intel x4500 onboard and installed the xorg intel module from testing. Everything is fine so far, got decent Kwin performance, desktop cube rotates smooh. But when I try to play warosw, or quake3 i get around 5 fps. I think q2 and q3 should be easily playable on that graphics card. Any ideas how to improve graphics power?
    I already use INTEL_BATCH=1
    thx
    issue

    Vamp898 wrote:
INTEL_BATCH=1 does improve my performence about a double
what the hell does INTEL_BATCH do?
This is most puzzling. First off, this does not work for me on  i915. Nor should it. Essentially, INTEL_BATCH=1 should do nothing, since the code for this has been removed:
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg … comments/7
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … comments/8
I also did not find a mention of it on bugs.freedesktop.org or intel-gfx mailing list. If anything, this is an obsolete hack.
How did you measure performence? Please try for example openarena (http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/Benchmarking).

  • Re: MSI GE60 2PE doesn't start up anymore

For MSI, Computex is always a highlight of June, with tons of international media and other visitors swarming the Nangang Exhibition Hall. We’ve already touched on one of our biggest eye-catchers of 2015, the Tobii eye-tracking equipped GT72, but apart...

Hi and thank you for your answer.
I contacted the german support and need now to contact UPS for the delivery.
I have however one question before that : I have installed two SSD in RAID 0 and my operating system is installed on it. Can I take them out ...

  • MSI GE60 2PE Overheating

If had this piece of  for 10 days after paying 1350€/1700$ already on the first day it turned out having a worse wifi card than my 5 year old budget asus. Little did I know it also has heating problems and the the little struggling fan is making jet noises.
Right this moment Im doing nothing else than writing this and its on a steady 65c temperature, while playing dota2 its gone up to 97c so far but keeps a steady 80c. The "cooler boost" button on my computer is useless since as soon as I start up the a game the fan goes nuts trying to make the computer not melt.
Please help me guys Im so angry that I bought this piece of  its eating me alive, I messaged the msi support and like I expected I got just bounch of stupid  like "flash EC" "pres the cooler button".
I dont know what to do, msi and the store that sold me this junk has me so hard I dont know what my name is

When the CPU/GPU is running under full loading and is reasonable that the fan should be running full speed in order to dissipate heat.
The EC update is necessary since it has the fan control table which might be adjusted on the latest EC.
From the temperature you provided, I didn't see any abnormal degrees of the temperature.
If you think is not normal, then please provide more details of your system environment, BIOS, EC version, graphics driver version etc.
This is the only way that we can give our advice.
Lastly, please try not to put your aggressive words in your post.
It's not going to help much and here is the place for people to give help not to make commands for attacking MSI brand.
