Moved from CS3 to CS5 Production Premium, where are Ultra Sets?

Hi all,
Used many of the pre-built sets in Ultra in CS3
I see Ultra keying is now built into Premiere Pro CS5, are all the sets gone?
Can I load the old stand alone Ultra CS3 along with all the CS5 apps?
Thanks,
Chuck

Thanks for all the input.
I decided to try and install Ultra (after taking an image of my system just in case)
It installed fine and runs without issue, did not ask for any keys.
Suppose now I  wait 30 days to see if it changes to a trail version.
Since I have all the programs of CS 5 Production Premium installed I don't know I could install from CS3 that would not risk messing up CS5
Thanks again,
Chuck

  • Photographer moving from CS3 to CS5.5 looking for discussion of new features

    Hi,
I'm a photographer (not retoucher or designer). Just moved over to CS5.5 from CS3 due to the price changes that will happen in the next upgrade. I'm finding the changes quite difficult to navigate. I know there's lots of info out there, but really, there's too much! I'm looking for a good discussion, video, print, whatever, of the main changes in workflow between the versions. I'm pretty old school in my PS use. I use Curves a lot, set skin tones with CMYK numbers etc. My work flow is probably closest to that used by many beauty retouchers. One of the big changes thats throwing, me for instance, is that I can no longer simply cmd click on a eyedropper target on skin then cmd 1, 2, 3 on the RGB curves layers to set points to adjust colour.
Links, suggestions of video's etc much appreciated.

One of the big changes thats throwing, me for instance, is that I can no longer simply cmd click on a eyedropper target on skin then cmd 1, 2, 3 on the RGB curves layers to set points to adjust colour.
In the Adjustments Panel it’s alt-2 (composite) and alt-3 (red), alt-4 (green), alt-5 (blue) to select the individual channels now.
And command-shift-click to set the points on the R-, G- and B-curves.
You may want to consider setting the Adjustments Panel to »Auto Select Targeted Adjustment Tool«.
One can still trigger the old modal dialog via a Script, but it might be better to just get accustomed to the Adjustments Panel.
You may be able to download the Help as pdf for CS4 and CS5, their respective »What’s new?«-sections should provide an overview of the accumulated new features.

  • Moving from CS3 to CS5 - old hardware

I think I know the answer to this question but wanted to ask anyway. I've been running CS3 on the following system
    Windows XP
    Pentium D 830
    Nvidia Quadro  FX 1400
    80GB Raptor
    500GB Raid 0
    2GB DDR2 RAM
I'd like to upgrade to CS5/Windows 7. Can I use my old hardware or do I need a new system? If the answer is new system, can I salvage any of the old components or is it just not worth the effort? Thanks for your help. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

    Hello,
This is my first post in these forums although I have been lurking around for some time.
To answer your question, I echo Harm (for the most part). Premiere Pro CS5 cannot run at all on Windows XP; it requires a 64-bit operating system to run. And all retail and most OEM versions of XP are strictly 32-bit.
Second, that Pentium D is below Adobe's minimum CPU requirements (CPU performance wise).
Third, although you can carry over that "80GB" Raptor, I wouldn't recommend it: At only about 70 MB/s, its maximum sequential speed is only about half what a current-model 7200 rpm hard drive can achieve.
The RAID 0 can be carried over.
Finally, 2GB is the absolute minimum required by Adobe for CS5, but I would recommend a lot more than that. Moreover, adding more DDR2 RAM is now no longer worth the price, especially if you have to also replace the CPU and motherboard just to even run CS5. And nearly all new motherboards these days use DDR3 RAM.
    Hope this helps,
    Randall

  • Moving from PSE12 to LR...where are my keyword tags?

I was a heavy user of keyword tags in PSE...including nested tags and setting up my own categories.   When I "upgraded" my PSE catalog to LR, many of the PSE tags didn't show up in LR.  Also, for some of the tags that did show up they pointed to only a few of the images that the tag pointed to in PSE.
Any ideas?  Help will be appreciated.

    OK..here's where we are----
    File>New Catalog
navigated to drive where I want the catalog
set u new folder  "New LR Catalog"
    highlighted is
    clicked on OPEN
    "nothing matches your search
    closed that dialog
    File>Upgrade
correctly pointing to PSE catalog location
pressed CHANGE on LR catalog destination (which of course was pointed to
    previous cat)
navigated to folder set up above
    highlighted it
    OPEN.....said no matches for search
    SAVE....ditto
LR cat location still on original location
    ..........thanks for your help!!!!!

  • Where can I find the install page for CS5 Production Premium?

I need to reinstall my copy of CS5 Production Premium. Where can I find the install page for that?

Check your Adobe account online to see if there is a link to download from there.
Alternately, you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Where can I download the template libraries for CS5 Production Premium

I have recently downloaded CS5 Production Premium but noticed that there are no default template libraries for things like Menu presets in Encore etc.
Can anyone tell me where I can download this file from, as when I asked Adobe telephone support they couldn't give me a specific address or file name.

I think you'll get much better answers asking in the particlar forum for the application that you're wanting templates for.  To get to the forum home page where you can choose them look at the "breadcrumbs" near the top of this page.

  • Installing cs3 master collection and cs5 production premium on windows 7 machine

I have a windows 7 ultimate machine that I would like to install CS3 Master Collection on. I would then like to upgrade the Production Premium programs to CS5.
I have the install discs for both. Any suggestions for how to go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Tahseen,
    Thanks for the quick reply!
Both CS3 Master Collection and CS5 Production Premium are full installs, neither is an upgrade. I have serial numbers for both.
Machine previously had CS4 Production Premium installed on it, that has been uninstalled.
Should I install CS3 Master Collection then install CS5 Production Premium? If so, do I need to remove the CS3 versions of programs included in Production Premium before installing CS5 Production Premium?
    Thanks again!

  • Upgrading from CS3 to CS5.5 Design Premium??

Hi there, I work for a small print company and we are in the process of upgrading from CS3 to CS5.5 Design premium, the company has purchased a new Mac (runs Lion 10.7), our old Mac is on 10.4 and it has run CS2 upgrade, and a few years back we installed the CS3 upgrade. We have not installed any of the creative suite onto the new Mac and I am wondering can I just buy the CS5.5 upgrade and use the CS3 upgrade serial number when installing? Will this be enough?
Or do I need to go back to the initial Creative Suite that the company brought from scratch and enter that serial number?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Just have the serial number from CS3 handy when you install.
More good news for you. Starting today if you buy CS5.5 you get a free upgrade to CS6 when it ships.

  • Can you upgrade from CS5 Production Premium to CS6 Master Collection?

I have the student edition of CS5 Production Premium suite and Adobe Acrobat X Pro for Windows and I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade it to the CS6 Master Collection. If there is, how much would it cost? I would like to get InDesign and Dreamweaver. Or would it be easier to try to buy the two programs separate?

I saw that before, but I wasn't sure if it was an upgrade from the CS5 Master Collection or just anything CS5. Shouldn't the upgrade price vary depending on what collection of programs you have? Like shouldn't upgrading from the CS5 Master Collection be cheaper than upgrading from CS5 Production Premium? Will it change if I try to order it?

  • CS5 Production Premium causing problems with CS4 Production Premium

I have been using CS5 Production Premium alongside CS4 Production Premium for a while now.  After Effects, PhotoShop & Illustrator work alright together (both CS4 & CS5 versions).  My job actually necessitates me keeping both versions on my machine.
I had need to use both Premiere Pro CS4 and Encore CS4, and neither of the applications would initialize.  The following is the error message from clicking the Premiere Pro CS4 application file.
I am uncertain what the application event log is or where it is located.
Over on Creative Cow's site, I posted a similar message in the forums, in which a user stated that I should not have CS4 and CS5 on the same partition of my drive.
I do have a secondary internal hard drive on which I could install one of the suites, however, I want to make sure that it is done properly and efficiently.  I have seen some issues with uninstalling CS4 after installing CS5, so I wanted to ask for help before I simply begin to rip software off my PC (since After Effects and PhotoShop - which work - actually comprise 95% of my Adobe workload).
Any suggestions or guidance is appreciated.  Also, which version (CS4 or CS5) would be better suited on the secondary drive?
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

    Adobe Production Premium CS5/CS4/CS3

I am running CS4 Design Premium and Lion without any real issues. I can't guarantee it will be the same for you, but my experience has been good.

  • Can't find this info anywhere... Can I upgrade from CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5?

After using Adobe products for years and years, it's not only my opinion but the opinion of many of my colleagues that CS upgrades are only worth it about every other upgrade. That might be a subjective opinion, but it does lead in to my question: Does anyone know if I can upgrade from CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5?? I can't find that info anywhere on Adobe's site.
    Thanks!

Does anyone know if I can upgrade from CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5??
The Adobe Buying Guide clearly states that the answer for CS3 to CS5.5 is yes.
Design Premium example (other Creative Suites are the same):
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/design/buying-guide.displayTab2.html
You won't be able to buy CS5 from Adobe (not that you'd have any reason to).

  • 64 bit version download for CS5 Production Premium

I am moving my applications from a 4-core PC to a 6-core PC for increased speed.  In so doing, the 6-core will become my second computer with CS5.
Are the 64 bit versions of CS5 Production Premium not on the CS5 discs and were downloaded automatically later still available?

I am organizing all the information I need for a transfer of files and programs from my 4-core PC to my 6-core PC so I apologize if my questions sound trivial.   I could tell the 64 bit version from the 32 bit version because the file included (64 bit) at the end of the name.  If this is the case with the download program then that is simple.
I also have an additional concern regarding download time.  When I tried to download CS5 Production Premium twice on the first 4-core PC, the download quit after a period of time.  This can be a problem with Telco Internet.  I had to order the discs as a result.  I may be lucky with a new Airport Extreme router, due 28th of this month, and the 6-core PC combination.  Do you have transfer using FTP or what do I do if I experience the same problem with my 6-core.  Single programs such as Photoshop would not be a problem.  That is why I asked my original question regarding the download of 64 bit versions that were missing on the discs and sent by download afterwards.

  • PC build for CS5 Production Premium

Hello everyone. Ron here from Toronto Canada.
I'm a serious hobbyist leaning more towards video and flash production, attempting to put together a PC for CS5 Production Premium.
I've gone through this forum recently (a few times, actually - great info - thanks guys) and have put together what I think I want, as I'm not a hardware techie.
I'm looking to see if I'm going on overkill, or if there are any finer details I may have missed in putting together these hardware components.
Ex: Motherboard fits in case; CPU Cooler doesn't block RAM slots; GPU good enough - SuperClocked worth the price; Overclocking issues; Good Blu-Ray burner; Hardware alternatives; etc...
Your thoughts and suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks Harm. Phew!! What a relief.
My next step is to order my list through a local computer store rather than online, and have them build it for me for the cost of shipping and me trying to build it myself.
    >> I wonder where you can find the F3 Trident 4 G sticks though. A great choice but hard to get I think. I have been looking at that memory as well to upgrade to 24 G.
I got the idea from: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2968126
    Which led me to: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231381
This led me to another question. In the reviews section ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16820231359 ) there's mention of the price for the 6x4 sticks being a marketing trick, where its cheaper to buy 2x (3x4) sticks. Yet one reply to that, mentions the price difference is because the 6x4 sticks are all made to work together. I also read somewhere that its better to get the 6 pack because they're all manufactured on the same line. Any thoughts?
    >> If anything critical, consider more disks and a separate hardware controller for the RE4's. Not absolutely necessary, but desirable.
I thought about this already from previous discussions. Thanks for mentioning it, however. Greatly appreciated. In my case, this will be a future consideration.
Thanks for the fast response, Harm.
And many thanks to the other contributors for your time and wealth of information.

  • CS5 Production Premium Install missing some components

I purchased CS5 Production Premium, downloaded it today and just installed it. However, after installing Production Premium I don’t seem to have the following products installed: Photoshop® CS5 Extended, Illustrator® CS5, Flash® Catalyst™ CS5, Flash Professional CS5, and Soundbooth® CS5.
From the download files I was provided I don’t see any way to install these items.  I’m sure I’m missing something; but have read the installation FAQs and just don’t see how to install these additional components.   Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks! - Wolf

    Bob,
I meant to post a reply earlier and just realize I never did.  Your remarks about the folders lead me on a path to realize they were physically never installed and that something happened during the original install. Based on this I ran the install again, and sure enough, this time there was a window where I could select all the "missing" applications and have them installed.  Thanks for the help!!

  • Adobe CS5 production premium "doesn't" qualify for new Adobe cc membership discount, WHY?

    Hi All,
I have tried to qualify for the Adobe CC membership discount using my CS5 production premium serial number and the website is telling me that I do not qualify.
However on reading the terms and conditions it stipulates anyone from CS3 and above can get the discount. Not only that the adobe live chat is only for paid memberships so I cant talk to anyone until I pay... frustration.
Can anyone clarify this situation at all?
    Thank you in advance

Hi, thanky ou for your response,
I have the retail version with physical discs. It is not the educational version so I paid full price.
