MOVED: haswell board support for samsung 830

This topic has been moved to Intel Core-iX boards.
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=171306.0

the Z87 boards have problems with drives using older controllers (especially Sandforce ones) as a result they are highly problematic to try one!
the problem is on Intels side as the controller for the SATA III (6GBp/s) is embedded in the CPU and intel have made it so it can't use them properly so there is very little that any maker can do to fix it apart from make new boards with a ADD-ON SATA controller that can see those drives but it would cause a huge performance hit as the aftermarket controllers are very slow and would bottleneck the drives!
unless MSI or another Board Manufacturer can fix the problem somehow then there is nothing that can be done!

  • Request: AHCI Support for Samsung 830 SSD on gx660r

    Hi Svet,
i have bought a Samsung 830 SSD for my gx660r notebook, but i realized that it is not recognized in the BIOS in AHCI mode.
The MSIHQ Flashing Tool says the following about my BIOS:
    Mainboard:  MS-16F1
PCB Version:  To be filled by O.E.M.
    BIOS Version: E16F1IMS VER3.0J
    BIOS Date:  28.03.2011
    EC-FW Version:
Could you provide me with a BIOS that works with my Samsung SSD?
    I already donated some bucks.
And can you give me a hint how i can rescue my system in case the update fails?
As far as i know, my notebook does not have m-flash (at least i've seen no reference to m-flash), is there another way to restore the backup bios in case something goes wrong?
BTW: Im using the latest version of the flashing tool, but it does not offer the mode 2 (where i can point to a single bios file). Can you provide the modded bios as a zip/rar file so i can use it with mode1?
    Many thanks,
    Sascha

Nope, in a case of bad flash there is no recovery.
Else if everything goes fine, you can restore original BIOS if you want to do this for some reason.

To prevent using the wrong flasher[which can kill the notebook],
Tool automatically Disable Mode2 when notebook is detected.

  • Email profile support for Samsung Android (KNOX) devices in integrated environment of SCCM 2012 R2 and Microsoft Intune

    Hi,
I could see that lot of TechNet articles are being updated recently with the information on Samsung Knox.
Tried to check the email profile configurations in the SCCM console, could not find Android platform in the supported platforms.
I could see this option available when I login to the admin portal of Intune. Can any one confirm if the extension for enabling email profile support for Samsung Kiosk devices id released or planned to be released.
    Regards
    Leela

Configuring email profiles on Andriod devices is not yet supported via ConfigMgr integrated with Intune, see also:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn554226.aspx
It probably will be in the future, but there are no dates available yet.

  • Premiere Elements 8 & native support for Samsung AVCHD MP4 video?

I'm excited about the release of version 8 of PSE and PE, but my big unanswered question is stated in the subject line: will Premiere Elements 8 natively support the MP4 files produced by my Samsung HMX-H104 ?
I've been entirely unsuccessful with this file format and PE7.
I've read throught the product descriptions and FAQ and Adobe makes reference to cameras from flash-drive camcorders, but doesn't offer any specifics. Native support looks like a crapshoot. Anybody with some insight to contribute?

Thanks for pointing that out -- yeah, I see my error. I just did a little bit of web searching and it's not AVCHD. This seems to pretty well summarize it:
    http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Samsung-SC-HMX10-Camcorder-Review-34476/Format.htm
"The Samsung ... outputs video in the H.264/MPEG-4 format (the file extension is .MP4). This highly-compressed video codec should not be confused with the competing AVCHD format. AVCHD is a type of H.264/MPEG-4 codec, but the version Samsung employs is different, with both benefits and drawbacks.
"...the MPEG-4 video ... is adequate. ... this type of MPEG-4 is space efficient and less processor-intensive to edit than AVCHD."
    ...and...
    http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Samsung-HMX-H105-First-Impressions-Camcorder-Review-3 6130/Compression-amp-Media.htm
"The Samsung HMX-H105 records video in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, the same as models from the previous years. MPEG-4 has clearly been adopted as the format of choice for HD camcorders, split into two camps. Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and most recently JVC, all use AVCHD, which is a subset of AVC/H.264. AVCHD experienced some serious stumbling blocks in its first few years, as existing hardware and software choked on the heavy data loads. It has, however, gotten much better in the past year. AVC/H.264 is also data-heavy, at least compared to old standard definition camcorders, but the format is easier to read. QuickTime can work perfectly with the files, and has the benefit of being free and dual-platform."
I know this aspect has all been covered to death on these forums in the past, with respect to PE7 (which chokes on any Samsung .MP4 file I throw at it). While I've bookmarked the workaround posted by you in this thread (thanks!), I was hoping to avoid the extra steps à la native compatability with PE8.

  • LR 3 support for Samsung TL350 (WB2000)?

    Hi all,
does the LR3 update that now supports the RAW files of the Samsung TL500 (EX1) also support the RAW files of the Samsung TL350 (WB2000)? If not, I would be grateful if this camera could be added to the list in another update! Thanks to the Adobe team in advance!
    Cheers,

    Hi Jazzy!
    Have the same problem!
How do you deal with it now?
Is there a possibility yet to use .srw from the wb2000?
    (instead of the samsung software)
    If you have time...
please write your request (that adobe puts those cams into "bridge" or "lightroom") into the request area of Bridge.

  • RAW Support for Samsung GX-1L

    Hi,
I have a Samsung GX-1L which is basically a rebadged Pentax SLR
The problem is the iPhoto 6.0.4 running on OSX 10.4.7 does not regognise the file format (PEF).
OS X 10.4.7 is supposed to support the Pentax *ist DL RAW file format, so I would have assumed it would have had no problem with the Samsung?

    Hi there,
iPhoto does not recognize every RAW image but it does surprise me that it won't see PEF's. I use Graphic Converter - it's a great almost 'free' App, check it out and it will open almost any RAW image including PEF's... Good luck, Rick
    iMac G5 iSight 20" - 30G iPOD in Slimming Black -   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   - HP Pav 15" WS and Toshiba Sat 17" WS LP's - Canon 20D & A620

  • Still no support for Samsung EX1 (TL500)

Isn't this quite strange? The latest Compatibility Update includes cameras that were released much later than the Samsung EX1 (TL500).

Still stranger: the iPad supports raw pictures and shows them and still very strange: When the SD Card is inserted in the slot, Aperture opens and shows the raw pictures - but maybe Aperture just shows some thumbnails...

  • Mac mini support for Samsung Syncmaster 244T

I recently purchased a Mac mini 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 and wanted to connect it to a Samnsung Syncmaster 244T monitor. I connected it using the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter but it would not display. I also attempted to use the HDMI to DVI adapter included with the Mac but to no avail. Any recommendations?

Try resetting the Mac Mini's > NVRAM and PRAM
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.

  • LabVIEW RT driver support for CEI-620?

    Hi All,
I am using PXI-8106 to run heavy-duty communication and one chasis holds the CEI-620 card (third party ARINC429 card from GE, formerly Condor Engineering).  Currently  on the PXI controller only runs LabVIEW RT (Pharlap) since I did not want to install Windows OS to slow the performance.  Now here it is the problem, GE does not provide LabVIEW RT driver support for CEI-620 (they do have LabVIEW RT support for CEI-830 though, but that card is PMC interface). Basically right now MAX can not recognize the CEI-620 card on the host side, and I can not deploy my ARINC429 application VI to the target PXI controller. I am wondering anybody here has encountered the same problem and develop the LabVIEW RT driver for CEI-620 on his own?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Unfortunately I don't have much more information to offer.  I would suggest checking to make sure you have all the correct device information whe you create the ini file.  I think you should still be able to develop a driver for a poll based device.  It should be easier to generate an ini file if you do not require interrupt information.  Make sure you have the correct identification information and try using the VISA Driver Development Wizard again.

  • Does intel latest  mother boareds support for the Solaries 10 OS

Hello Friends this is Mr.MA.Prakash from India. I want to know intel latest mother boards not supporting solaries 10. i tried installing on some intel mother board numbers.
please suggest, which intel latest mother board support for the solaries 10 operating system.
    thanking u.
    ma.prakash.

I've had a fun time last week setting up an Intel MFSYS25 blade server and MF5000SI quad-core Xeon blades with Solaris 10.
I only had Solaris 10u4 (8/07) on hand, and it only worked in 32-bit mode (boot with kernel/unix explicitly specified, as in Safe mode descriptor).
However adding patches (back from Jan 2008) helped, and the system works fine in 64-bit mode.
I believe it should work with Solaris 10u5 since it includes these patches and newer ones, but haven't checked.

  • BIOS support for DTR Cpu's

Just wondering if anyone knew if MSI was working on better support for DTR and mobile Cpu's with it's next bios revision?
It's neat that I can get my CPU to run 1.5v and 10x multi through clockgen, but It'd be really nice if I could just set it and forget it in bios...

I realy hope so, as i can only run it at proper mutlipliers with 1 memory stick in slot 1, not sure if this is because of the corsair memory, or the boards support for dtr's (i think it is the later).

  • Request for Samsung NX10 support

I didn't see any threads on this yet so I'd like to make a request for Adobe to add support for the new Samsung NX10 RAW format in Lightroom.

I second this request. NX10 support in Lightroom 3, please.

  • HT203088 Support for RAW for format in Samsung NX30

Have just acquired Samsung NX30 Smart camera. Have Aperture 3.6. Upload RAW files?
    Have Yosemite 10.10.3

Larry, thx for the clarity. I didn't realize asking about future directions was a no-no here.
I since found an Apple document indicating support for the Leica D-LUX 3 and RAW format in an OS 10.4.10(?) release. I think I'll have to drag my Mac to the camera store, take a few pics with the D-LUX 3, attempt to sync and see if/how the RAW images come over, and then advise here on if it worked with OS 10.5.2 and iPhoto '08.
