Moved homes, took X1 box with us X1 WIPED all recordings, scheduled and favorites!

We have had X1 for about a year, had everything set up the way we wanted, all of our favorite shows scheduled, etc. We signed up to move using the Xfinity mover's edge program, since you don't really have an option. We moved and the technician showed up. He plugged in the X1, it updated the guide and it was fine. He actually had a problem with the internet because we had a modem that they didn't have any record of, so he swapped out the modem for a new one. We (stupidly) didn't think to check for our recordings since we assumed they'd be downloaded via the cloud. 
Today we went to watch a program we had recorded and it wasn't there. Nothing was. All of our saved shows were gone. We went to scheduled recordings, same deal. Nothing. Same for favorites. It's as if the entire system got wiped. I tried Powercycling, syncing, contacting customer service. They tried rebooting it, powercycling, syncing. Nothing. 
What the heck is the point of a system with a cloud unless it retains your info? A year's worth of settings, preferences, scheduled shows and favorites is gone. 
They're calling me tomorrow to try to figure out, but I'm not optimistic....

Comcast and X1 use the cloud in most cities, but not for back up purposes. However if you kept the same X1 DVR the recordings should still be there. My guess is something is wrong at the account level.
If it were me, I would call the X1 help line 877-896-8678 and have them do a DVR refresh in my account.
Have you UNPLUGGED and rebooted ALL of your X1 devices? Plug the DVR back in first.

    the problem started when my computer screen broke from something falling on it, the screen was replaced but the people that fixed it for me told me there may be some hard disk issues when a problem like this happens, they ran their own checks and found nothing and i was given my laptop back, then when i tried to use it, i found this problem. everything else works fine.

    there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

    Sometimes when FF is closing, not all of it shuts down properly.
    On Windows, start the '''Task Manager''' (Other systems may have
    different names and / or commands). Select '''Processes'''.
    Look down the list for Firefox. Right click and select '''End Task'''.

    I'm sorry that you're having issues with Firefox and Farmville. My first suggestion is to ensure that your plugins are up to date. For instance, Farmville relies on the Flash plugin, and I've noticed that your version is slightly out of date.     Also, some add-ons, like CoolIris, require a fair amount of system resources to operate. i love add-ons and wouldn't surf the web without them, but sometimes it's easier to disable all of them and just turn on the ones you use to determine if any of them are the culprit.
    Another way to determine whether or not the problem is with Firefox or your installed add-ons is to create a fresh profile. You can create a new profile alongside your existing one that doesn't have any of your add-ons or bookmarks installed. Don't worry, it doesn't delete any of your existing data and switching between profiles is easy.

  • Moving the position of box with rollover

    I have a flash file that slides the position of a movieclip to 4 different positions with 4 buttons which works great.  I also want to add 2 buttons that when you roll over them, I would like the position of the movie clip to keep sliding to the left and right until you roll off of the button(and stop when it gets to either end of the movieclip.  The code below slides the movie clip when you click them...if that helps.

    no worries.....I really like the way my file works now.  i have another file with really nice easing to it that contains the code below. what I'm trying to figure out is if I can add that easing into the file you helped me with or would it be easier to modify the code below into a horizontal scroller like I need.
    either way, i'm looking for suggestions on a starting point so I can work on getting this figured out.

  • Combo box with multiple variables pre populating multiple fields and max value validation script help

    I am creating a pdf form that will be used as a calculator, and my javascript knowledge is pretty rudimentary. I can do the simple things, some of what I need to do is over my head.
    1. I believe I need to use a combo box to pre populate certain fields. I have 13 variables in the dropdown to choose from, and whatever the client chooses will pre populate three other fields (and each of the 13 variables will populate those three fields differently). I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this. Is it custom keystroke script or does it require a document script? Also, I'm guessing that whatever script will be a series of if/then statements, correct?
    2. Once all the fields have been populated (be it pre population or filled in by the customer), I need to calculate the answer which is not my main problem—I already have the proper calculations in place and they work. The problem is that the answer has a maximum value even if the actual value goes over that max number. So, the actual answer is 14 but the max value can only be 12. How do I get the calculation to replace that actual number (14) with the max number (12)? Is that in the validation tab or should that go elsewhere?
    I feel like I know just enough to be dangerous but not terribly effective. Any help is appreciated.

  • HT1766 Where is my old backup stored? Because of auto backup, I can't see any of my older ones and with new ios erased all my data and it kept backing up the "new" setting

    I plugged in my iphone and then itunes says my iOS was old and need update. Hence I update it to 7 where it erased all my data to start with, and it was actually backed up before it was erased.
    After the new iOS was installed, it just couldn't restore the old data and instead it kept auto back up the new setting.  I called apple help line and the guy said whatever is on the itunes list is all there is. But because of the auto backup, the whole list is full of new backups without my old stuff. Is there anyone who can tell me whether these files are overridden or instead just not showing on itunes, and where can I find it?

    When you restore a device, a new backup is created and the old backup has a date added to the backup name.
    Look in iTunes prefs > Devices.
    The current backup will not have a date in the name. It will show the date on right side.

    No, they won't transfer over, however, there are third party PC/Mac programs which will transfer the content of your iPod to your computer. Just do a Google search on this topic and you will find them (e.g. senuti)

Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

  • Why did updating software with PC Companion wipe all my settings and newly bought apps?

    I have just connected my new ExperiaX10 mini to the computer and I dutifully tried to install the new software available following all the instructions.  The final step (as far as I got anyway) was to disconnect it from the computer and switch it off and on again, but when I switched it on it only got as far as the Sony Ericcson start up screen.  Not knowing if this was supposed to happen I reconnected it to the computer as instructed, but nothing happened.  I had to force a couple of restarts to get anything else to happen and when it did eventually come back on it had went back to factory settings and I lost the applicaions that I bought a week ago.  Is the update faulty and is there any way that I can get back my apps without having to pay again?  I have no intention in trying to update it again.  It was an expensive waste of a couple of hours.

    On the apps, I think you should be able to go to the Android Market on your phone, go to downloads, and click on each one.  You should get them back for no extra charge.
    Not sure about anything you downloaded from elsewhere though...

    I am a BT customer , and I am moving home, from Bermondsey to Tooting (both London postcodes).
    I used the on-line "moving home" link to proceed with the trasnfer, but at some point I had a warning:
    "We can supply phone service at your new address We need to install a new line at your new address. An engineer will need to visit, you can pick a date for the visit before you complete your order.
    We are unable to transfer your existing number to your new address"
    If possible I would like to have more details.
    1. I would like why BT cannot transfer my number to the new address. Is this a technical issue or is it because I changed zone and the numbers in my new place have a different area code?
    2. Is it possible to know if there is a contract active with another operator at the new address? I mean, apart form guessing or opening the previous tennant's post, which I don't want to do?
    I do not want to disclose my new address, but my secret hope is that a BT customer service operator is lurking this forum and will be able to check these details using my cusomer number

    1. BT can only transfer numbers within the same exchange.  If you are moving to a different exchange, you'll get a new number.  Be aware that several different exchanges can share the same STD code, so you need to know the name of the actual exchange.
    2. It's not easy.  Do you know if there's a line there already?  If there is, you may be able to get some useful information by plugging a phone in.  if the line's live, try dialling 17070 and see if you get a recorded message.

    Please share the screen shot of the PDF you are experiencing issue with so that we can analyze at our end and update you with an appropriate solution .
    If you are on windows please try repairing the Acrobat once and see if that helps you .

    Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    Also, sometimes restoring the iPod helps.
