Moved house, no phone, no call from BT

I moved house 2 weeks ago and had BT booked for the 29th of May. No engineer came, no contact was made by BT to inform me of any problems. I called BT and was informed there was a fault on the line, I gave a mobile number that I could be contacted on and was told that someone would call me, no call was received. I made another call 2 days later to be told that there was a fault at the exchange and that it would be fixed on the 7th of June. I have yet to receive a phone call or any other communication regarding this. This is the second day off work I've taken to be home for the engineer. Extremely poor service from a company I had thought cared about customers.

I recommend checking your  prompts and alerts to turn this feature off. This may be you "Call Connect" or "Readout" alerts. Listed below are steps to update this feature.
With the flip open, press the Voice Command Key (on the left side of the phone). The Voice Commands feature has several settings which allow you to customize how you want to use it. Access Voice Commands, then press the Right Soft Key[Settings]. Your choices are below:
-Confirm Choices--- Automatic/Always Confirm/ Never Confirm
-Sensitivity--- Control the sensitivity as More Sensitive/ Automatic/Less Sensitive
-Adapt Voice ---If the phone often asks you to repeat voice command, train the phone to recognize your voice patterns.Train Words/ Train Digits
    Prompts ---Mode/ Audio Playback/Timeout
    * For Mode, set Prompts/ Readout+ Alerts/ Readout/ Tones Only.
    * For Audio Playback, set Speakerphone or Earpiece.
    * For Timeout, set 5 seconds or 10seconds.

  • Moved house and no outgoing calls. Going round in ...

We moved house last Friday, and moved to BT from TalkTalk for phone and BT broadband package. Cancelled TalkTalk 24 hours before move as instructed. Moved in and had 2 days of landline working before it told us that on every outgoing call we are not authorised for that service, calll the service provider. We still get incoming calls. Called BT. Checked line, all seems ok, send an engineer. Engineer checks external/internal/exchange equipment. Finds no fault. We call BT. They send another engineer who blames TalkTalk. TalkTalk categorically claim that we would have had no calls at all if they hadn't given line back to BT. Call BT. Wait for another engineer. Any ideas?
None of this properly describes the frustration at time wasted over the past week on our mobiles to an Indian call centre where they seem to be reading from a script and unable to take on board what is now simply going round in circles. There clearly is a problem yet noone seemes to be able to figure out what...in a telecommunications company. Disgusted by service.

Since 2nd July we have been unable to make calls from our hub phone...we have a dial tone but when we dial a number we get an automated message telling us we cannot make calls (including emergency calls) from this phone and to hang up and use another phone. We can receive calls on the hub phone.  We reported this fault on July 2nd, the problem was referred to 2nd level of support - not fixed, then referred to product specialist team - still not fixed.  Am on phone to BT yet again at the mo - have been put on hold several times, being passed from pillar to post....INFURIATING!  Any ideas anyone?  :-(

  • Home Hub Phones & blocking calls from a particular...

I have a BT Home Hub 1.5 and the Hub Phone. Is it possible to block, or blacklist one phone number, so as it cannot call my hub phone?
I tried saving it in the phone book & allocating a ring tone of "None" but it still rings. I have also looked under Advanced in the web interface for the home hub, but cannot see anything there either.

    Hi KeithAFrench,
If you take a look at the link Choose to Refuse, you will find some information on calling feature and this could help you to block calls from that number. Let me know if you still have any question regarding this service.
    Cheers

Hello, I have just moved house ( 2 weeks ago) I use to get BT infinity so I was expecting a big drop but nothing like this. When I orderd my new BT package I was told to estimate speed of 12mb.
My internet cuts out regularly - 5 to 10 times aday and most of the time when I get incoming and out going calls.
-I was getting 11.1mb the first two days I moved in.
     - Currently plugged into test socket and did the 17070 and 2 and getting some static sound but did this with a wireless phone standing next to the receiver.
-Just got brand new ADSL filters from BT.
Any help would be fantastic due to this is damaging my work with clients - Thank you!

Already talked to BT about BT business two years ago and was told I did not need to "upgrade"
I have contacted a BT enginer who is coming out next week.

  • Moved house - phone number still not transferred a...

We moved house on 23rd March.
Having previously been with talktalk, I wanted to stay with them but they told me they couldn't keep my phone number and advised me to move to BT.
I called BT on 18th March and ordered the phone line and broadband and was told this would take until 30th March to activate, which I reluctantly accepted.
The broadband and phone line were indeed activated on 30th March, but the phone number assigned was a new one.  I called to report this on 30th March and was advised that the problem would be corrected within 24 hours.
On 1st April, I called again as the problem had not been corrected (although the phone number had been changed to another diffrent one).  I was advised that talktalk had not released the number and that this would be corrected by midnight on 5th April.
Today is 6th April and the problem still persists - i.e. I still do not have my old phone number.  Apparently the number portability team has encountered a problem and there is now a cooling off period such that we will not have our phone number until 20th April!
I have been credited a month's line rental which was nice of BT, but frankly, this is an absolute shambles and I want to be released from the 18-month contract and placed on a month-to-month basis until I find out whether BT is worth staying with.  At this time, I have to say I am not sure.
This really angers me - in this day and age there is no excuse for being repeatedly promised one thing only to have the promise repeatedly broken.  I'm sure it is simply a case of moving a couple of plugs in the telephone exchange...

    Hi Icrule,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. I am sorry to hear about the problems you have had in getting your old number back. There are a lot of things that can stop an number being transferred from one address to another, the most common of which would be is if that number is tied to another exchange.
I would like to take a look at this for you to see if there is anything I can do to help you get your number back. If you can a look at my profile you will find a link to a "contact us" form.
Please fill in your details making sure to include a link to this post.
    Thanks

  • Text messages and phone calls from March 2012 to date are missing after activating iphone5

text messages and phone calls from March 2012 to date are missing after activating iphone5. I backed up my 4 before activating my 5. Can i retrieve them somehow?

i would not want to bet on nokia ever releasing a patch or update in the software to allow this function on this particular phone.
if you look at nokia phones over the years, they have added functionality like this across a wide range all at once, take for example timed profiles on symbian phones. these have only just been phased in.
i do not think it is a development cop out, more along the lines that nokia is a huge company and as such would have a huge effor in market research. if they didnt pick this out through their market researc, why spend the money adding it?
the comment on annoyance is entirely personal to me, as it is important to you - you may want to consider moving to a symbian (series 60) based handset as these give you a lot of expansion for this sort of need.

  • Moving house can't keep phone number

So I'll be moving house soon and I'm trying to organise moving my phone, tv and broadband to the new place.
The trouble I'm having is that when filling in the online form it says that not only will I need a new line installed and can't keep my phone number but I won't get all the channels I get just now (standard Vision package).
The new place has had a BT line and is only up the road a bit from where I am just now.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? From what it says before I start filling in the form I should be able to move everything without charge as long as the new place doesn't need a line installed. Which the new place shouldn't need as it was a BT line before.

Have you checked the line in the new property works? If not it'll need to be connected which is normally chargeable.

  • My iphone4s suddenly not receive or call from my house.

I have iphone 4s and 5. Suddenly I cannot make or receive calls with iphone 4s from inside of my house. ( iphone 5 is working very well and no problem.)
I tried resetting network, turn on and off, update software to IOS 7.1.2, *228, and restore.. nothing is working.
Funny thing is if I go outside of my house, my phone is working..
Does any body has same issue?

I'm really sorry to hear about the problems you've encountered, akim73. Let's see what we can do to find a solution. What happens when you attempt to make a call? Can you please provide me with your zip code? I look forward to hearing back from you.

The following quotation is from Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
There is more information in the link, including supported hardware and that you must have Settings > FaceTime > iPhone Cellular Calls set to on on the iPhone.
    Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
    Make a call
To make a phone call on your Mac, iPad or iPod touch tap or click a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, or Safari.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem clean charging port again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

  • When I receive a phone call from a new number, how do I save that number to my contacts?

When I receieve a phone call from a new number, is it possible to save that number from the incoming calls screen? Can I create a contact from the number itself without having to go to the contact list and write the number in manually?

Thank you so much. I feel like an idiot for not figuring that out on my own, it is so simple.  But I really, really appreciate this. Thank you!!!

  • Wifi calls from a phone that is not mine

We have two iPhones at home. Everyone has its own phone number and iCloud account.
I set up "family sharing" when updated to iOs8. Now, when the other one gets a facetime call, I also receive that call even if I don't know who is calling!
Is it a sharing family "feature" or an issue?

i Have checked that and we have it differently. Now comes the weird part: my father came home today and he called via facetme to each phone and it worked perfect.
So I thought I might be getting crazy.
Later tonight  we were on the subway going to eat dinner and the other phone got a facetime call and both our phones were called at the same time.
So it seems it only happens when she receives facetime calls from a specific number, the others work well!
I called Apple support and they told me to disable handoff in both phones as the final solution. But I want handoff to work. So not only they hsve no clue about what's happening but they are not going to investigate it. By the way, I have Applecare in both phones....
    Any idea?
