My MSI K8NGM2-NBP is giving problems with the red in the video,first was intermitent and later died, only green and blue are working, so I decide to upgrade with an PCI-E video card to solve the problem then I bought an MSI geforce 7300 gs and it didn't work,,no video at all, thinkiing that the msi card came damage I changed for as MSi 8400 gs and the same problem no video at all,,only the onboard video had video.
I verify that the bios was the PCI-E the primary as it was, then I went to my father house which have an ASUS A8N with the same nforce 6150 to see if my mobo was the problem and it didn't work either with the bios set to PCI-E as primary so is not a problem of bios setting, is a problem of compatibility, it looks this first generation of PCI-E motherboards only works with old first generation PCI-E cards.
I'm frustrated thinking the need of change mobo, ram and procesor because I cant find any information about my motherboard PCI-E compatibilities.

not sure on that one but you can set a border around the edge of the screen so that you can access the right click menu.

New question...I added gDeskCal for a simple calendar application, and it works great. However, it shows up on pypanel across all 4 desktops. Any way i could remove it from the panel all together or specify it should only be on pypanel on a certain desktop, etc.? I dug through pypanels config and info and the config for gDeskCal to no avail...far from a deal breaker but it would be cool to change haha.

Your problem is you have iDVD 4 or earlier. Such versions ONLY supported internal SuperDrives.

Slow moving item question

Hi,
I have the following requirement.
"Show all customers who have no sales in any given time period"
I have implemented as per the following link

I have used 0CUSTOMER as the infoprovider and ZBILL as the cube. The condition is basically COUNT(Net Sales) <> 1 . 0INFOPROV is restricted to 0CUSTOMER and both "Constant selection" & "Display values not posted" are selected on 0INFOPROV.
This works fine when no time filter is applied. I get all the customers who have never made any purchases in the entire cube ( 2 years worth)
However when I create a filter using 0CALMONTH , the query breaks down and also displays customers who HAVE made a sale.
As per the above help page, this should not happen
As anyone encountered the above situation ?

Restrict the keyfigures you are using with 0CALMONTH rather than placing it in the filter.

K8NGM2 Questions

I'm thinking of buying this board - but when I checked the manuals, it said that Dual-Channel memory is needed. Since I have two sticks of RAM which have different CAS latency, can I make the board to go only Single-Channel? The book said that if I use different pair of sticks the system will be unstable. Or I can switch off the option in BIOS? Please advise. :D

Single channel or dual channel is determined by which slots you place the memory in. There is no bios adjustment.
If you run your memory in the green slots (slot 1 & slot 3) You might be able to get them to work in single channel. Run memtest86 through 4 or 5 passes to check if they will work that way. Make certain that you place the stick with the highest CAS rating in the slot next to the cpu as this stick will be the one that the bios uses to adjust the memory settings for both sticks. This is just a general rule of thumb that I use when trying to use mismatched memory. Using mismatched memory is a hit or miss situation that normally ends up as a miss.
The best advice that I can give is to purchase a good dual channel kit of memory from a major manufacturer, Crucial, OCZ, Corsair, Mushkin, Geil or GSkill.

[CLOSED + MOVED]Activate lvm2 on ext3 root partition

Hello guys,
I want to move to lvm2 on my arch installation, I haven't used any lvm before. So here's what I did so far:
1. shrink root partition using gparted to 7 gigabytes
2. created an lvm partition with size 8 gigabytes
3. migrated all files from the root partition to the lvm partition (in single user mode: # rsync -axSX / /newpartition)
4. added lvm2 hook before the filesystems hook in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf according to http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Con … #Using_lvm
5. regenerated the initramfs image using # sudo mkinitcpio -g /boot/kernel26.img
5a. added a grub entry with root=/dev/vg/root (I have no idea what the difference is between that and /dev/mapper/vg-root)
5b. edited /etc/fstab to use /dev/vg/root (again, no idea if /dev/mapper/vg-root would have been more appropriate) as root mountpoint "/"
6. Rebooted
7. Unfortunately, I cannot copy-paste the output, but upon reboot, the initramfs loads fine, it seems to recognize to lvm2 volume, but then says "trying to open console - not found" or something like that and then kernel panics on me.
Any ideas?

I used reiserfs for many years, many partitions, many distros and had no problems. Every now and then I'd use ext3 but there were a few issues. I got a new laptop in January and decided to take the plunge: shrunk vista, small ext2 /boot and the rest set up as an encrypted partition with LVM2, all logical volumes set up as ext4 (except swap!). I've been very impressed with ext4 stability.
Oh, and step (5) edit fstab to reflect the new file systems, make sure /etc/mtab doesn't exist.

CPU Processing Distribution Question. Will 4 core VM use all physical cores on physical processor(s)?

Sorry if the title is vague, I am unsure how to properly word my question down to a single line. Anyways, on to my question, if I have two 16 core processors in a server, but I have 1 virtual machine that is setup with 4 cores, will the vmware only use 4 of the physical cores, or will the processing be distributed among all the cores? If searched the documentation but was unable to find much information about this specific situation. The reason I have it set to 4 cores instead of more is because the application I am trying to run only uses up to 4 core and if I can use vSphere to distribute out that processing it would greatly improve the performance. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Community - a VCPU can only run on a single core at a time - so your 4 VCPU vm will run only 4 of the 32 cores that are available in you ESXi host but each - the ESXi host is also smart enough not let the any of the 4 VCPUs share core either. By default the VM's VCPUs can be scheduled on any of the 332 physical cores

PS Elements 10 question

I just purchased photoshop elements 10 and I am really struggling trying to figure out how to use it. I owned PS elements 4.0 for years and I was quite savvy using it. I have read through the manual and searched the internet but I cannot find answers to my questions. My toolbar is basically useless.
As you can see it has only 8 tools. The type tool is not even on there and I can't seem to find it. So .... question 1 - what happened to the toolbar, how do i get it back?
Secondly the program will not let me do anything with layers to my photos that I have on there. No duplicating, adding, removing, or merging layers. Why wont it let me? Please help, I would really appreciate it!
