MOVED: Looking for a board that supports IOMMU and has integrated graphics

This topic has been moved to Linux/Unix.
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=163832.0

I'm not sure how far the fsb goes but I know that I can set mine to 500 in the bios!!!  Usually run it at 200, and have gone as high as 245, but 300???? you'll never get there without extreme overvolting and liquid nitrogen cooling!
Dynamic overclocking does not increase voltage, you must set it before if you have to.  And dynamic overclocking is also limited to a 15% increase of the fsb (AFAIK).
About wanting a board that supports the 300 fsb, you might want to wait a few years for that LOL.  No current processor can hit that high anyways.
Other specs for my board, cant adjust the Vcore because I have a Prescott so I don't know how high it can go, Vdimm goes as high as 3.0 volts, and agp volts can go to 1.8.
Thats about it.  Hope it helps you find what you want.
EDIT:  Oh, and I don't know about the MS-DOS stuff, and the mem should not be a problem unless it has a cas of 2.  And the agp/pci does not say that its locked, but I have checked the speeds with Clockgen and it does not vary at all.

  • Looking for e-mail that supports Safari and OSX Mail client.

I've noticed that some email applications don't support Safari so a lot of the nice features are not available, even on paid subscriptions such as Yahoo! plus which is $20 per year. Is there one that does support Sarari that doesn't limit the features?

Never got an answer so I contacted my Satellite provider to use their e-mail set up for my Mac Mail client. I guess that provider is as good as any.

  • Looking for an App that supports Text Searching in PDF (more complex finding text))

I try to explain it clearly since my English not good
when I using Ipad to search with some app like PDF expert. I can search words if I only type one single words or I type more than one words but these words are continuous in one sentence. Example like this
In this case. I type "and for the", and I got the result, because these three words are contiunuous in one sentence
But if I type words that not continuous but seperated in the file like this one. I don't get any result.
So, I'm looking for an app that read pdf and can search multiple words at same time. Like what preview does in the mac
See in the mac preview, we can search different words at same time and still get all the results.
So, Is there any similar PDF app that offer same function on IPad?
    THanks so much

Yes, PDFPen for the Mac does do multiple word searching.  I just tried it using this example:
I searched the iPad User Guide for "switch control".  It only found those two words together.
Next, I searched for "switch".  It found additional occurrences.
I did find, however, that I was required to place the two words "switch control" inside double quotes to find the two words together (and only that string).
UPDATE:  Oops, sorry, the above statemant about the double quotes being required is false.  Sorry, I used Preview by accident when I wrote that.
Indeed, PDFPen works just as you seem to want ... searching for "switch control" (without quotes in the search string) finds only those two words together.
UPDATE 2:  Oops ... it sounds like this is just exactly the opposite of what you want.  You are looking for something that, when searching for "switch control", finds all occurrences of "switch" and all occurrences of "control".  If that is right, PDFPen won't help you.

  • Looking for a soundmax that supports my computer hardware...

Like the title says, I turned on my computer this morning and a message popped out that my Soundmax didn't load properly and needed to reinstall it. So I go to unistall a program in control panel and in my lack of knowledge in computers made me uninstall it(I should have rolled it back in device manager maybe...). Then after restarting, I don't have the soundmax installer in unistall a program and I have been desperately looking for a working one but all I got was errors saying it doesn't support my computer hardware even though it was made for my computer though. Anyone know how to get back Soundmax? And no I don't have a recovery partition...
I'm using HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor Windows Vista Business 32-bit
    This question was solved.

  • Looking for a mobo that supports PIII 1400 pentium or celeron

idoes anybody now of a MSI socket 370 motherboard that supports a PIII 1400 petium or celeron cpu. just aquired one of each through a little buying and saling. with some horse trading to. just found out my Pro266 Master doesn't support them.

Quote from: Richard on 13-December-06, 08:13:06
    k,
Just use the CPU as a keychain and get a new Socket 939 nForce4 Mobo.
The price for an Athlon64 is minimal and will give you greater performance.
    Take Care,
    Richard
well if that were the case you should take your own advise and go out and get a new Intel core duo extreme put your Athlon64 on a keychain  and use your nforce mobo as a tire block.
but really I've already got a MSI K8T Neo-FSR FIS2R althon64 socket 754 it may not be the newest or the fastest but it works. I also have almost everything from a couple of functioning 486's, but torn down, on up. a couple of still running socket 7's, acouple of slot A's  a possible dead slot 1 on the way back burner to see if its possible to revive. a few socket 370's that I just replaced a bunch of caps on a bingo they booted right into the bios,(and the guy said they were totally dead for parts only)(horse trading stock now after a few more runs o make sure they stay stable ). might keep they Pro266 master though as it supports ddr mem surprised it didn't take the PIII 1400  but it booted with a 1100 celeron but I think its a coppermine cpu and not a tualatin model kind of a big bummer for such a nice board. the MSI cpu support web page list no support for tualatins at bios version 1.3 I think. I've also got several socket A's and three P4 rigs one needs a new bios chipthen becomes horse trading stock might keep one of the other two.
amazing how much you can collect over the years in search of a faster gaming machine and doing repairs, bios flashes, mods for people. and horse trading. after a while you just got to slow down and wait a while. now I could run out and buy a new mobo cpu duel core version ect. but wait directX 10 coming out now or after christmas right might have to get that card too. but wait quad cores are coming out too  might have to get one of thoughs or Intels cheater version now two duel cores put together. it all adds up real fast and at the rate computors are changing now every six mounth or less you'd be buying a new one or even a slightly used one just to keep up. naw not me anymore I'll keep playing on what I got tell it won't play very well anymore. heck I was still playing medal of honor breakthrough on a 900 mhz slot A while other were using socket A Athlon XP's. I was competitive at it too may not have been the greatest player or lowest ping, but I was their playing and keeping up with the big boys and their new rigs.

  • I am looking for a webcam that will plugin and work on my new MacBook Pro running Yosemite?

Just got my new MacBook pro and wanted to plug in my external Logitec Pro 4000 webcam...but it does not appear on any options to use.
So I guess its time to upgrade it... but I can't find ANYWHERE what webcams will plug and play on the MacBook Pro (3/2015 model) running the latest version of Yosemite (10.10.2)
I would LOVE to not have to buy a new camera...but i can't seem to find any other solution.  So ideas?
    Gary

It should plug into one of your USB ports.
If you want a newer external camera, some compatible ones are listed in http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/

  • [SOLVED] Tiling wm that supports keychains and good mouse support

I hope I'm not bringing up old questions but I couldn't really find anything useful using the search
Basically I'm searching for a new tiling wm that supports a few things, namely:
Keychains, absolutely necessary, dwm and i3 didn't seem to have this feature or I overlooked it
good mouse support, hard to say when mouse support is good but configurable menus would be nice
config files that aren't written in lua, ruby or whatnot wouldn't hurt either
I'm using pekwm at the moment (screw the *boxes), an excellent wm, but it's no tiler...
    looking forward to useful answers
Last edited by vanvalium (2011-04-02 00:23:34)

I doubt that you're going to have much success finding a tiling manager with all of that baked in; most twms are made by minimalists and seem to eschew extra programs, unlike gnome and KDE.
yeah I know, but pekwm is also pretty minimal and supports keychains
Also, you may want to check this out: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ison_table
That was one of the pages I looked at before opening this thread here. Useful, but not in this case
hbekel wrote:Take a look at xchainkeys. It's a standalone program to create chained keybindings independent of wm. Works best with a wm that has good scripting support, e.g. musca. I wrote because I was in the same situation as you are, looking for a tiler that supports proper keychaining.
    Thanks, I'll look into that
You might be able to use xbindkeys to set up keychains, but it won't be trivial since you'll have to write a guile scheme config file and implement the keychaining logic on your own.
I'm pretty sure I won't have enough time and skills to do that

  • Looking for some assurances that I haven't made a mistake switching to Mac.

Bought an intel-powered IMac 9 days ago and love everything about it's look, functionality, etc.. Only problem: I've had a bout of "Application has closed unexpectedly" occcurrances while using Safari (while at AOL.com deleting emails from aol account) and while editing pics in iPhoto. As this happened time and again, I got a sad, sinking feeling that I'm headed for the same frustrations that I've had w/ every Windows machine I've ever owned. Ugh!..I switched to Apple for the specific purpose of avoiding crashes!!! Apple support walked me through steps to fix (removed/updated Quicktime, and check a few other things..). They were very helpful, but... I absolutely detest having to do this. Other than Office:Mac, i've added nothing to this machine! I'm really stressed about this. I paid far more for this than I would have for a Windows machine simply because I had heard that Apple machines don't do this sort of thing!!
Please tell me that this is normal and expected with a new machine and not a harbinger of more complicated problems to come!! I'm hoping that once resolved, I won't much more of this.. On the other hand, if many of you feel that this issue is a bad omen, I'll take the machine back while I still can. ..What a pity though, it's truly been a joy to use so far.

Hi syd123! And Welcome to Discussions!
No you haven't made a mistake! You will love your Mac!
Deleting AOL Mail, crashes Safari (Consolidation)
It seems the most recent Safari, and or 10.4.4, update has created this problem.
Apple & AOL are both aware of this, but, as far as I know, no correction has been implemented.
Here are some of the work arounds, that I have been able to discern from the various posts regarding this issue.
    Use the FIREFOX BROWSER.
    Use your AOL Mail program.
Use this utility AOL SERVICES ASSISTANT, to set up Apple Mail, to access AOL Mail.
Access the AOL Mail thru Classic AOL Webmail.
And here are links, to the various threads, discussing this issue.

Looking for an app that works with Mac and iPhone that will set calendar reminders of birthdays in contacts.

    Hi ron1098,
Try my application Dates to iCal. it runs on the Mac, but you can sync the calendar to your iOS device.
See more about Dates to iCal here. It is £4 shareware with a 2 week demo.

  • Looking for an app that combines an equalizer with video out.

I'm looking for an app that has video out (like "Upsize" or the iPod built-in photo slideshow) with an equalizer (preferably like "Denon Audio" or "EQ Pro" so that I can listen to equalized music through my TV. Upsize is close, as it allows for album art to be displayed on my TV while the music plays however, it does not control volume and you must use the iTunes equalizer before you start the app. My TV is the type that will not play audio without an accompanying video signal when using a component cable to connect my iPod to the TV inputs.

  • I am looking for a device that will answer phone calls on my Mac. I have had a Phonevalet, and it is great, but it is no longer made.

I am looking for a device that will answer a landline phone. I have a Phonevalet, which answers, takes messages, has call block and is pluged into my Address Book, but it was discontinued, and I would like to add another line. Ovalabs made a similar device, but it also is gone. Is ther a way to use an Apple Modem to take calls? Any other product? The best part of the PhoneValet for me was it would announce the caller ID over my stereo (pluged into my Mac) and I could hear who was calling in my workshop and decide if I wanted to interupt the call.

I know I'm talking about expensive apps, but having been in prepress for about 30 years now, I really don't look at anything other than Quark XPress or InDesign for page layout apps. Your printing vendor will also be much happier with you when you use these products. Some areas of the U.S. tend to be mostly Quark oriented; others, InDesign. Ask your vendor what they would prefer, and if there are any free or cheap alternative apps they'll accept documents from.
Apple's Pages app (part of iWork) is a decent page layout program, but hasn't been updated in four years. It also doesn't support CMYK. If you place a CMYK image in the app, it will export out an RGB version of it. Not good! You can work with RGB images if you prefer, but your CMYK translations will be left to the skill of the print shop you use to do the conversions.
Don't even think about using Word. It has what it calls a page layout option, and does pretty much work like one, but there's no good way to import it into a real layout app such as InDesign. You end up paying the printer for their time to rebuild your entire project in either XPress or InDesign so they can actually do something with it.

I guess duffymo you can say what you want in a forum, but usually answering a question with a question isn't very helpful nor appreciated.
