    Hi
I buy this Motherboard: MSI 760GA-P43 and have some problems.
    Motherboard problems:
    Computer won't start when i press a keyboard/mouse button
No power on USB /PS2 slots when pc is shutdown.
I try S3 and S1 configuration but still nothing.

    see this guide: https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/wake-on-lan

  • Msi 760ga-p43 crashes on wake from S3 sleep

    Hello,
I have the msi 760GA-P43 motherboard with Windows 8.1 installed on a 250gb Samsung 840 Evo SSD, and I'm unable to get the computer to wake up from sleep in S3 mode without Windows crashing a few seconds after wakeup. I also can't wake up from keyboard or USB mouse (can only wake from power button). When it does wake up and crash, the system restarts itself and then returns to Windows as if waking from hibernated state - i.e. all programs still running.
Sleep works in S1 mode, but in S1 mode the fans don't stop so this seems kind of pointless. I have played around with various power settings within Windows but nothing makes a difference. Tried setting 'boot from PS/2' and 'boot from USB device' to Enabled in BIOS, no success.
I have a Phenom II X6 1055T CPU @125W, 8gb of 1333MHz RAM. Any advice very welcome, thanks in advance.

    A couple more details:
I have hybrid sleep disabled in Windows.
I get the same result whether the Wakeup Event (in BIOS) is set to BIOS or OS.
BIOS is updated to most recent, ver 1.2

  • MSI 760GA-P43 (FX) supports windows 8.1?

    Hello,
I am building desktop pc with a msi 760GA-P43 (FX) and an amd fx-4300.
My os is going to be a windows 8.1.This os is going to be a problem in my setup? In the drivers, the bios, the hardware(hdd, sdd, gpu) or anything else?

I would recommend W7 as the only W8.1/8 drivers MSI has for that MB is for ASMEDIA SATA and no others. Personaly I would not use W8.1/8 for anything.

  • FX8320 with MSI 760GA-P43 (FX) MS-7699 drop speed on high load

I had an FX8320 with watercooling on this MS-7699 motherboard, when with high load the CPU (all 8 cores) drop to 1.4Ghz then come back to the normal frequency within a few seconds, is there anyway to maintain the cpu speed at all time with high load?

No there isn't. The board is not able to cope with the power draw of an FX83xx cpu. Sadly MSI for some time listed FX 8-core cpus supported on all 760G product sites despite these are only able to run 95W TDP cpus at the very maximum. The behavior you are experiencing is a cheap trick to make the cpu seem supported while the only way to keep the board from burning up is to throttle the cpu under load. To run the cpu at full performance you need a new board meant for supporting 125w+ cpus.

  • Msi 760ga-p43 fx

    Good afternoon.
Recently bought a ssd drive, Plextor m5 pro.
Included in the 6gb port, but the rate has not risen above 200.
In normal sata II, speed 260/220.
Drivers are installed on Asmedia, how to get out of the situation?
How do I get sata III ports?
I beg your help, thank you

    Hi
You cant get more speed probably due to the Northbridge/ southbridge PCIe link speed limitation, its linked at 1xPCIe v1.1 250MB/s.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_700_chipset_series#760G
I think that's the case and its common but, i done some testing with my own system and the results are like that but only limited to PCIe v2.0 500MB/s.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=170128.msg1242754#msg1242754
Anyway you should ask to MSI technical support just to be sure.
Edit: What bios version have the motherboard?
Now there is Bios v 1.1 that upgrades PCIEx (4 slot) to PCIe Gen2, the Asmedia controller most probably be exclusive but if its shared with PCIe 4 slot you should get better speeds with the Bios update.

  • Does 760ga-p43 (fx) supports port multiplier for sata?

    1) I have a 760ga-p43 (fx) and I couldn`t find anywhere if it supports port multiplier for sata.
    Does someone have any idea?
    2) I tried a delock 70146 and I couldn`t make it see also the sata on motherboards and the sata on the pci card. For lack of information on that msi "user guide" I tried any combination on AHCI, ide and sata, but it was a blind trying. It would be great a little help on what to look for.
    Thanks,

  • What type RAM chips for my motherboard MSI X58 Pro-E

    Hello,
I have a motherboard MSI X58 Pro-E Processor I7 960, I would like to buy 16 GB of memory, I just do not understand anything type of memory.
Can you tell me what kind of memory is compatible with my motherboard
I need some Extremely fast memory
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/X58-Pro-E.html#?div=Manual
Excuse me if I speak wrong, because I'm French.
    Thank you in advance, cordially.

The memory controller is inside the processor and natively suppoert DDR3-800 and DDR3-1066 memory modules (non(!)-ECC).  Anything faster than DDR3-1066 may work but there is a chance that you will be running into stability problems, especially with four modules installed.

  • [Motherboard] MSI Motherboard supported NVMe device. 3X Faster

[Motherboard] MSI Motherboard supported NVMe device. Comes Testing of X99S GAMING 7 and Intel P3700
Here is third party news, please check PVEVA review as below
    ------------------------resource:http://bbs.pceva.com.cn/thread-113902-1-1.html------
I heard that MSI has updated BOIS recently. From now on, all the 9 Series motherboards support NVMe device. As a result, I borrowed a NVMe SSD Intel DC P3700 400GB from MSI and tested it
Intel DC P3700 have equipped with PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, capacity from 400GB to 2TB,what I borrowed is 400GB version just looks like normal PCIe SSD.
    Why the SSD uses PCIe?
SATA 6Gb/s is fulfilled with traditional Hard Disk, but the speed is far from the SSD. With the PCIe, it helps to increase and extend the connection function. And help to improve the performance.。
    AHCI compare to NVMe
While Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) interface has the benefit of legacy software compatibility, it does not deliver optimal performance when a SSD is connected via PCI Express bus. NVMe has been designed from the ground up, capitalizing on the low latency and parallelism of PCI Express SSDs, and fulfilling the parallelism of contemporary CPUs, platforms and applications. NVMe brings various performance improvements is the reason why it was burned
The NVM Express, Inc. is directed by a thirteen-member board of directors selected by the promoter group, which includes Avago Technologies, Cisco, Dell, EMC, Intel, NetApp, Oracle etc. and develop by around eighty companies.
NVM Express, NVMe, or Non-Volatile Memory Host Controller Interface Specification (NVMHCI), is a specification for accessing solid-state drives (SSDs) attached through the PCI Express (PCIe) bus.
The biggest advantage of NVMe is the lowest latency. Because of streamlined storage stack method, NVMe can command without registers. However, each command of AHCI needs four unbuffered registers and it will cause 2.5 μs data latency.
The other important revolution of NVMe is supporting more queues and this technology can enhance Muti-Core of CPU’s performance; the IOPS will not be influenced by single-core of CPU.
Enterprise market will be huge benefits from NVMe. NVMe technology could reduce the HD loading and extend the battery life indirectly.
In conclusion, PCIe hardware interface brings a high-bandwidth (sustained R/W performance), thank for native PCIe controller, it reduces latency controller (R/W performance under low QD upgrade, if it is directly connected to the CPU PCIe lanes , the performance is more obvious when the CPU overclocked). Also, NVMe software interface software is reduced latency of software.(random R/W performance of multi-core CPU under high QD)
Let’s comes to the actual testing. To avoid decrease the Link Speed of graphic card, we put P3700 at second PCIe slot.X99S Gaming 7 supported the NVMe from the BIOS version 17.6 last year.
    Test basic:
    CPU:Intel Core i7-5960X
    Motherboard:MSI X99S GAMING 7
    Memory:Avexir DDR4-2400 4GBx4
    Graphics card:MSI GTX 660 TwinFrozr
    HD:
    Plextor PX-128M2P(system)
    Intel DC P3700 400GB(Test 1)
    Plextor PX-G512M6e(Test 2)
    Power supply:SilverStone SX-600G
    Cooler:Noctua NH-D14
    OS:Windows 8.1 Update 3
The driver from intel official website is much more compatibility than the NVMe driver original from Win 8.1.
    Download link : https://downloadcenter.intel.com ... =3810&DwnldID=23929
During the testing, we need to do security eraser several times, therefore; we need to download the Intel Data Center.
    Download link : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23931
Device manager of P3700 NVMe device in Windows 8.1
SMART information should be checked from Intel Data Center. CrystalDiskInfo can’t read
    Wear Leveling:
The following is benchmark test. ASSSD Benchmark and CrystalDiskMark software cannot push SSD performance to extreme level, so we use TxBench to test the performance of 32GB data transmission. TxBench in Win8.1 with native driver, sequential read is up to 1375MB/s and write is 1072MB/s. In 4K single QD test, there is not big difference between SATA3.0 and PCIe. In other side, the performance of 4K QD32 test, SATA3.0 is 50% better than PCIe.
After installing NVMe driver, the performance of sequential R/W is dramatically improvement. Especially in read function, the performance is directly double to 2800MB/s, achieving the highest level we never saw. It’s the real performance of this SSD.
As I mentioned before, native PCIe controller could decrease the latency of SDD. The R/W performance increase after CPU overclock to 4G as well.
Compare to PCIE 2.0 x2 AHCI by Plextor PX-G512M6e
    overall review:
    Conclusion:
I just introduce the overview of VVMe technology and the Intel P7300 basic performance. We found out that the advantages of NVMe comparing to the AHCI, it will be more and more common in the future.
MSI 9 series motherboards supported NVMe device. Although NVMe is not popular, MSI keep the scalability of the motherboards. In the next article, we will test P3700 under business environment to see the performance and advantage.
