  • Is MSI R9 270 Gaming 2G BF4 UEFI/GOP compatible?

Hello together, i am searching for a new Card that has UEFI/GOP compatible to let my new bild W8.1 PC boot faster. Is this card compatible?

As said before it's the same with all cards of all manufacturers. Most won't deliver any cards (except high-end ones with two bios chips) with GOP compliant vbios out of the box as it prevents the card from posting in a UEFI mainboard without GOP support (what applies to most "older" socket 1155/2011 boards until bios updated). Updating the vbios is better than being stuck with a black screen (and customer eventually returning the "broken" vga).

thanks for the answer. yes i know it's great that i recieved this version
Edit: It hast the standard clock speeds, so is it reference design, which a normal gtx 480 watercooler would fit?
you have to check compatibility with cooler makers.
also installing 3th party cooler will void your warranty

  • MSI twin frozr 4 GTX 670

    Hello
Having a slight problem with my gpu, maybe it is not a problem though.
My MSI twin frozr 4 GTX 670 is idling at a great temp of 28 Celsius.
When I play battlefield 3 or future soldier my card temps hit 80 degrees, I also hit 82 degrees in fur mark.
Is this high temps for this card
    thanks

Well I guess your card is a GTX 670 Power Edition because that uses Twin Frozr 4. 80 or 82°C is by far no problem especially not in Furmark. Besides the Twin Frozr 4 has more potential and gets my (much overclocked) GTX 680 Lightning to stay at 60°C under load but I have a very decent ventilation in my bigtower case. So with better airflow you'd have better temps but none the less the current temps are still far from problematic.

  • 660Ti UEFI/GOP & legacy bios request.

    Hi.
Preparing myself for the Haswell upgrade.
Can I please have the latest UEFI/GOP & legacy BIOS(es) for the following card?
    Card: MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC 2GB.
    Serial#: 602-V284-050B1211045023.
    Original Vbios: 80.04.4B.00.16 (P2004-0001).
    Vbios image dump: (*https://www.dropbox.com/s/y6crdr9y1ti5t6u/MSI%20N660Ti%20PE%202GD5-OC%202GB%20GK104%20original%20bios.rar *)
    Thanks.
    PS.
Which ver. of nvflash should I use for flashing?

    Thanks for the file.
I upgraded just for the sake of being up-to-date,
but I solved the problem earlier otherwise
So, I can't really comment if the newer/provided VBIOS solves the black screen problem or not.
In my case the problem was from Nvidia driver 320.18.
There is a supposedly acknowledged problem with Win 8 which silently installs  on the background
an earlier Nvidia driver (311.06) from windows update,
and *not* informing the user about the background install/need for reboot.
If the user installs another/later driver without rebooting 1st it becomes a driver binary mess.
In my case, when using 320.18 with Win 8 (even from a clean install and not messing with any previous driver),
caused the monitor going to sleep after POST and when MB UEFI handed-off control to OS in 80% of the cases.
A situation I could exit from only with a hard shutdown.
So, for any other poor soul having similar problems,
it might be a good idea to try an earlier Nvidia driver.

  • MSI Twin Frozr Gaming Geforce GTX 770

    Dear MSI,
Recently I bought myself an ASUS PG278Q Gaming Monitor with 144hz & 2K Resolution.
Now my game no longer plays smooth and nice. & my FPS is between 70 & 100 and drops to 30/50 in teamfights..
1.5 year ago I purchased the MSI Geforce GTX 770 Twin Frozr & I really expected this card to be strong enough for the monitor.
( I play League of Legends, soon hoping competitively. Also I got to know from some people that this card would be strong enough for the monitor. )
All my drivers are up to date in the Nvidia Geforce Expierence. Can someone help me & How to solve this?
    Kind Regards,
    Rory

  • Need UEFI/GOP Bios MSI R9 280x Gaming Bios1/2 no Gop

    Hi Hallo!
Please UEFI/GOP Bios for MSI R9 280x Gaming (Ultrafast Boot Win 8.1)
    serial number:  602-V277-19SB 130 90 97 395
    Bios: 015.039.000.001.003331 (113-C3865000-G77)
Bios1 and 2 - no gop bios - Ultrafast Boot do not work
    thanks

    There you go: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=173931.0;attach=12208
Eventually that is not even needed. it should be possible to switch between two versions with a hardware switch and one should be GOP compliant.

  • MSI Z97-G45 Gaming can not POST or enter BIOS but has display

    Hi
First post here and sadly a technical one. I just bought the following hardware:
    - MSI Z97-G45 GAMING MoBo (no idea on BIOS since I cannot enter it at all)
    - Intel Core i5 4690K s1150
    - 16GB (2x8GB) Patriot Viper 3 Black Mamba 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Dual/Quad Channel Kit [PV316G160C9K]
    - Corsair CX750M PSU
and installed the hardware with the following old hardware that I am carrying over:
    - 2 X Hitachi 1TB Sata HDD
    - 2 X GTX 275 SLI
To begin with, my existing drives were setup as RAID 0 and has a installed Windows 7 64-bit on there already. I unregistered the Product key before taking it all apart with the idea of registering it again once the new hardware was all together.
So basically, when I received all the new parts yesterday and put them all in. Upon powering on, I see the MSI Dragon logo fullscreen with the option to press DEL or F11. I let it continue without pressing any key to see how it goes. After the dergaon logo, all I get is "Missing Operating System" at the top which did not really worry me and I assumed it would be realted to the Raid not setup (right?)
So I rebooted the PC and decided to press DEL to enter BIOS. However, every time I want to enter the BIOS the screen turns black! The display is still functional though from what I can tell (the display does not lose signal).
Following that, I reset the CMOS from behind by pressing the button with a pen tip. Starting the PC again now gives me a display of all my hardware that it detected (correct CPU, Correct amount of ram, correct HDD etc...). It also gives me two options... F1 to Enter setup or F2 to Continue. Pressing F1 displays the text "Entering Setup..." at the bottom but again it fails to enter the BIOS (it freezes on the above screen - does not turn black this time) and choosing F2 to Continue freezes as well.
I have tried to boot up with the following changes:
    - No GPU and use on board VGA only
    - One stick of ram in multiple slots
    - No HDDs connected at all
    - I've checked the CPU to make sure no bent pins
    - Reconnected the PSU cables into the motherboard
I should also mention that when I test it on the bare minimum (CPU, PSU, 1 stick of ram) I get A9 in the lower corner before the dragon logo appears.
Right now I am out of ideas and any suggestions would be helpful or at least some insight in what problems I described may indicate. Thanks!

Can you post your board's serial number. This contains the manufacture date. From that one could deduce the BIOS version on that board.
As for the windows installation from your previous system, you would be very lucky if you were able to boot with that. Perhaps force safe mode if and when you are able to boot, and then try installing the new drivers. The problem is that with the old drivers still in the boot menu, you are probably heading down a slippery slope trying to re-use it. A clean installation would be advised.
Whatever is on the HDD now should however not prevent you from getting into the BIOS.
The fact that your CPU is recognised by its make doesn't mean that its supported. The CPU ID is probably read by the BIOS, but the microcode of the CPU may be missing in the BIOS support. I am trying to think of possible reasons here, and these are just some of my current ideas as to why you may not be able to get into the BIOS.
Have you tried your MB outside the case yet, i.e. on a non conductive surface, i.e. wood or cardboard to eliminate any chances of a potential short?
Also, you may want to check your CPU seating again and carefully inspect the CPU socket pins to ensure that none were bent or are not making proper contact
Yep here is the serial number: 601-7821-050B1405415963
Yeah I didn't really expect to have too much luck with the original windows 7 installation but I had no choice since my last computer failed to power on (faulty PSU I suspected).
However, as you also mentioned, I do not think it would prevent me from reaching the BIOS setup.
Hopefully the above serial can make some sense for you but I do recall some sort of date after a CMOS reset at the top... I think it was 21 April or May 2014 or so. This was next to the following: E7821IMS v2.0.
Once I get home, I will try a few things like you suggested but trying to get as much info as I can before I get home so I have a few things to try.
    Thanks again!
EDIT - as a side note, I also contacted the Online Retailer I got it from and the first response from them was that the DEBUG "A9" code meant it was the RAM not fully inserted. That is another thing I have to be 100% sure of but I am fairly sure it was fully clicked in on both sides... but you never know!

  • MOVED: MSI R9 270X Gaming 2G Graphics Glitches VBIOS?

    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=183819.0

Hi, hope I'm ok replying to this after it's been a a while but seemed to make sense to have the history.
Unfortunately the glitches were not gone for long. I used your method for removing the current drivers and installing the MSI ones and it seemed ok for a little while but a few days after my last reply they were back. It's taken me so long to get back to you as I decided I would wait until I could do a clean install of my OS with the MSI drivers. I did this over the Christmas break and it's the same. It doesn't seem to be heat related as the glitching can happen at random times, it's happened as soon as the desktop appears after the PC has been off overnight a few times. It can pretty much start at any point from instantly to 3 or 4 hours usage. From running games to just running a web browser.
I only really play an old online game so it shouldn't be causing the card any stresses. I think i'm looking at a faulty card unfortunately, but happy to try any other suggestions. I managed to find someone else who had a suitable PSU in their machine and who didn't mind trying it out for me. After about 30-40 minutes we started noticing the glitches appearing while just browsing the web and a music player running.

ust passed 3D Mark, no artifacts during the whole test - full load was around 96-98%, highest gpu temperature 85°C with fan running at 2400 rpm max (70%) - according to the GPU-Z/HWinfo.
But after this test has passed, graphic artifacts appeared on the screen in "2d" (in windows, low core/memory speed and temeperature but small squares were everywhere flickering like crazy).
