  • Msi video card n240gt and n9800gt problems with output HDMI

    Hello to all
I have a problem I just bought a new Video card because I needed HDMI output. The previous card I have is a BFG Ge Force 8800GT 512 DDR2 running @ 1920x1080p 60Hz which works perfectly the only downside is it does not have HDMI out with 5.1. Now i installed the n240GT 512 DDR5 and tried watching BD ripped to the HDD and playing them back  all i get now it jerking lagging bad also and have horizontal red and green lines scattered across the screen.Which i did not have with my 8800GT card thinking  its  a bad card so i bought another card from another dealer this time its a MSI  N9800GT 1gig DDR3 and still the same problem.I Checked the resolution and its set to 1920x1080P refresh at 60Hz,i also changed the  Hz to 24Hz and it cleaned up the lines but not all and picture still  jerky picture. I have a MSI K9N NEO V3 Motherboard and all drivers updated current Bios. l used a DVI cable 40ft long with my Ge Force 8800GT and every thing worked fine, once I installed the new MSI Video cards N240gt and N9800GT I have the above problems and using a 50FT HDMI cable. I have a Samsung PN50A550 with 3 HDMI inputs 1 has my BluRay player hooked up with HDMI running at 1920x1080P at 60Hz and crystal clear picture no problems, input 2 has my HD Bell receiver running at same specs as input 1 no problems I tried the other HDMI inputs from the Samsung TV  from the HDMI out from the card same thing. It has to be the cards that can`t support the TV what else can it be if not the MSI cards. Please respond ASAP Thanks Thumpalong

You may want to borrow and test with another PSU.
We always recommend Corsair and Seasonic
I can't find anything on Topower other than that opinion piece of linked... getting frustrated. Most of the time I can find detailed info on most psu's not this time, so best to borrow and test.
Assuming of course that the older VGA's worked fine.

  • The best msi video card?

what is the best video card from MSI and because it is the best?

Personally, I would lean to two different cards.
The first one is the N460GTX Hawk. An insanely powerful card in the performance segment which really set several standards seen in other MSI graphics cards down the line.
on the AMD side, it's the R6950 Twin Frozr II. silent, extremely cool but most of all, unlockable and overclockable! Price performance wise it simply can't be beat.
If you talk about pure class, the first R5870 Lightning really set a precedent for overclocking graphics cards and the N480GTX Lightning made a GPU that wasn't known for its good power consumption and heat into an insane monster! Not only is it simply one the best MSI graphics cards ever made (85% of the top-30 in 3DMark Vantage for the 480 is with the Lightning!) it also introduced low temperatures and lower power consumption to the GTX 480, something no one else achieved.

  • Beeping MSI Video Card n9800GT

    Hey everyone!
I have been having issues with my MSI graphics card. Recently, I had to fix my computer and replace the motherboard, and while I was at it I decided to get a new cpu and graphics card. I had purchased a MSI n9800 GT Graphics Card, which has 512 MB and DDR 3 memory.
We installed the hardware today, but as we got to the end I had to buy a new power supply unit for the 9800, for I didn't have enough plugs, nor the type of plug. When we installed everything well, it all worked perfectly except the Graphics Card.
What occurs is that the cpu, and all of the hardware works well, but when we got the power cable, and we plugged it in it started beeping! Now it beeps in a continous and monotonous rythm every 1 second. Thus, we tried taking out the internal power cable, and it didn't beep. It was only when we put the power into the Graphics Card it did beep.
The new PSU is a 430 Watt Thermaltake, the older one which was about a year old is a 450 Watt Power Supply unit.
Also, when we turn the computer on and its hooked up onto a monitor, no display neither occurs on the monitor when using the convertor to a normal monitor cord.
We did not install the SDITI setting that is deemed optional. We placed in the Graphics card into the appropriate slot, and we then later inserted the power.
Any help upon this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Vladimir.

The 6 pin power cable that comes with the psu which you plug into a n9800 graphics card to provide it extra power. The PSU cables, which come with different sockets; 6 pin, 4 pin, 3 pin, etc. When we plugged the 6 pin power cable (that comes from the PSU into the GPU MSI n9800GT), and started the system (by plugging it with power), the computer starts beeping, most likely the motherboard! BUT, when we do not put the 6 pin power cable into the GPU, and again start the system as I have said above, the computer DOES NOT beep!
I have no other machine to put it in that is compatible with that graphics card.. We have also been told by some technicians, they say that the power supply might not be good enough and they're talking about 500 Watt PSU  , but it says on the specifications that it is good enough with a 400 Watt power supply. That comes back to your suggestion, that a more powerful PSU like isn't 400 good enough if it asks for it? I have a 430 PSU and now going to replace it with a 450 which was my old one. I bought the 430 because I didn't have the connector. The people we asked also say that maybe we should take the graphics card out and put it back in to see if its in properly and we are trying to do that, or that the graphics card might be defective.
But I have expressed the problem as much as I could, and added my computers specifications to my signature as described in the sticky in the VGA products section. I am going to take it to a computer shop tomorrow, for I tried to take out the graphics card but it seems to be stuck in good.

The watts means not much. You should look for amperes at +12V line, to be single rail and quality PSU.

msi will take board back and alter it for mx but as thats just a pumped up gf2 and you loose it for a month its not worth it
but you need a good psu gives over 200 watts combined 3.3 and 5 v
most 300 watt generic are 150 watt
antec over 400 watts a safe bet

  • MSI MB/Video Card conflict

    ** Purchased Bundle **
    MB: MSI 760GM-P34 (FX)
    CPU: AMD FX 4130 - 4 Core - 3.8 GHz
    Memory: Kingston 8GB DDR3 - 1600
    Video: MSI R4350-MD1GD3H/LP - PCIe
    ** To go with **
    PSU: 450 Watt
    HD: 500 GB
    OS: Vista 32 Bit
    Rebuild was a breeze.
Booted and installed motherboard drivers, no problems.
Rebooted and tried to install graphics card drivers.
The MSI motherboard does not recognize the MSI video card. So the proper drivers will not install.
    Device Manager shows:
    Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor
    Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks, but, I have the driver disk that came with the card. It just won't install properly.
Driver installation from the disk fails (No supported device found).
Driver update in Device Manager says (Driver is up to date). Yes, for a standard vga graphics adaptor. Not what I need.
I presume Device Manager is suppose to display the name of the Video Adaptor, but it doesn't.
This leads me to believe that the motherboard does not recognize the video card for some reason.

  • Will the Corsair CX430 Handle the MSI N560GTX-Ti Video Card

The Corsair +12V rail is rated at 28A and 336 Watts.
If this won't handle it, what do I need for the N560GTX-Ti twin frozr II?
What will be the system signs if it cannot handle it?

I upgraded the power supply to a Corsair TX750 with 62 Amps and 744 Watts on the +12V rail, but am still having problems with the video card.  Here are the symptoms:
With the computer turned off through windows there is still a voltage trickle that causes the blue LEDs on the DRAM fans to stay on.  The blue LEDs on the CPU fan also stay on and there is a slight jerk in the fan blades twice every second.  Again the computer is off and this is happening.
If I unplug the power cord then everything goes off.  But if I plug the power cord back in and the computer is still turned off, I get the trickle and same symptoms.
This happens even if I turn the power supply off at its switch on the back of the power suppply.
If I take the MSI video card out the symptoms go away.
This symptom appeared before I ever switched the computer on with the MSI video card.
Also, If I take the MSI video card out and install a PCI-E 16 Radeon video card, there are no symptoms, so the problem does not seem to be in the PCI-E bus or the motherboard.
The video card seems to be functioning otherwise.
    Any Suggestions?

  • Video Card Compatibility

    Hi,
I am trying to add a new MSI video card to my Envy H8-1414 desktop. This is the card:
    http://us.msi.com/product/vga/N660_Gaming_2GD5OC.html#overview
When I add the card with the OEM PSU, I get 6 long beeps. I added a 550 W PSU and the beeps go away but I get no video. I contacted MSI and they say that the power is enough but that I need to check with HP to make sure the BIOS can support the card. I checked the HP support site and I don't see any BIOS updates for this machine.
The card is PCI Express x16 3.0 and HP motherboard only says 2.0 so I'm wondering if it's just not compatible.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • SLI - Can I use two different video card versions for SLI?

    Hello,
Can I use two different generations of MSI video cards that implement the same GPU for SLI?
    The two video cards are:
    MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv2 GeForce GTX 260 896MB <-- What I currently have
    MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv3 GeForce GTX 260 896MB
    MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OCv4 GeForce GTX 260 896MB
The main difference between these three seems to be that the OCv3 has two fans and a different heatsink than the OCv2.  The OCv4 has one fan like the OCv2 and but it is located in a different location and some weird spikey heatsink thing going on.  I already have the OCv2 but I am looking to get another card for SLI and newegg doesn't sell the OCv2 anymore.  The important thing is that I am looking for is stability and it seems that the most ideal setup would be to get identical cards.
By the way, why are there so many versions (updates?) to this card?  Have there been issues related to the card that necessitate a revision?
    Thanks

Different coolers(HS and fans) and possibly different makers of vRAM.  But, you should be able to run SLI without issues regardless of the versions.

  • Is the FX5200-T128 video card compatible with an Athlon 64 CPU and a K8N mobo?

I am building a new computer based on the Athlon 64 3000 processor and the mobo MSI K8N Neo-FSR.
I intended to use MSI MS-8907 GeForce FX5200-T128 as the video card.
However I have been told that this video card might not be compatible either with the Athlon 64 processors or with the mobo MSI K8N Neo-FSR.
    Is it compatible or not?
If it's not compatible, what is the cheapest MSI video card compatible with the Athlon 64 and the K8N?
Thank you in advance for your help.

If it's there, it means they at least inserted the card, booted, and installed drivers, as far as what they do from that point is anyones guess. You will see the far right column shows 4x or 8x.
I agree, it is minimal info at best and not my idea of what should be included in a test report.
I don't see any reason why that card would not work, the market is saturated with that type of card.
