MOVED: Neo2 Platinum - Nforce 3 - Vista 64bit Driver Problems

This topic has been moved to Vista problems.
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=108696.0

Hi Paul,
I think that there will be no problems - if you include a good PSU in the set up.
I would recommend to see what BIOS there is coming with the board - 1.9 or higher will recognise the X2 CPUs. If not strictly necessary, I would advice against flashing the BIOS of this board, unless - of course - you encounter specific problems. In that case I would flash an official BIOS (1.B) and not a beta, or modded BIOS.
At present the 4800 X2 is still quite expensive; the 4400 X2 is much better from a price/performance point-of-view ...
As far as RAM is concerned: why would you want to run 4GB of RAM? For normal programs/games, 1GB is more than sufficient and only with some of the newest games a noticeable increase in performance can be seen when 2GB is used in stead of 1GB. It is hard to imagine that adding 2 GB more will lead to an increase in performance. Instead it must be expected that you will loose performance (because of dropping to 333MHz, looser timings, etc.). I therefore recommend to go for 2GB of good quality RAM.
Hope this helps,
Hans

• PC60G-F Vista 64bit driver

Is there any driver for the PC60G-F for Vista 64bit? cause the msi site says that it is vista compatable but no such drivers are avaliable. The driver which vista installs is an Atheros one (the same chipset as the on board LAN) and no turbo G is avaliable.

Try this one: >>Ralink 256x en 266x series<<
That one is direct from Ralink, else check the chip on the card to verify the chip used.
utility installed correctly but it reports that the card does not exist :(

• Xboard 61 and Vista x64 driver problems

I cannot install the driver for my Xboard 61 without this happening. I've done the following:
-run as administrator
-changed the integrity setting to "ON" using BCDEDIT
-run driver setup in an unpacked driver application folder
-checked to see that emuumidi.sys is installed in system32 folder
-re-checked to see that the same Xboard works on my extant XP x32 system (and it does)
I'm at a loss for what to do. Emu has email support now and its hasn't provided any answers.
Here is a copy of what happens to my system. Any suggestions are welcome.

Do you have vista service pack 1 installed? That will do it, I think. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C21C3978-3B7D-4D64-873B-3C9D26982D7A&displa...
If the link doesn't work, search the microsoft site for update KB936330 (x64 version).
I had many driver problems with all kinds of hardware on my computer with vista x32. I downloaded SP1 (but for x32 version) and all those problems were solved.

• K8N Neo2 Platinum - Is the MSI IDE Driver required to run SATA RAID

I am using Windows XP and am booting from an IDE Disk.
I then added 2 x SATA Disks for RAID.
I changed the BIOS, Configured the Striping RAID Set and booted from the IDE Disk.
The PC detected the RAID Controller and I loaded the Driver.
Whatever I do the PC will only recognise the two SATA Drives as single drives not a RAID Set.
I did not load the MSI IDE Driver because I had read some threads that suggested there were problems with this.
I think the thread was related to problems with the errors in the Event Log related to the RAID driver.
Thanks
Richard

• Looking for T1 T2 memory command ?(K8N NEO2 Platinum NFORCE ULTRA)

Is there a way to access the T1 T2 memory command on my board? its not in the bios..... THX

Live update using a floppy....this is my 3rd MSI board and ive done the same on all with never a problem to date...I just thought the 1.80 was new enough to have all the changes...excect the usb 2.0 update...
SanDiego 3700 is fully supported from 1.B , thats why 1T/2T isn't coming up as a choice if using an older one (2T is set as default) .
Other than that the 3700 runs fine with 180 .
Edit:
Btw 1C bios isn't offered via liveupdate (only 1B).
If you wan't 1C based BIOS you have to get it manually and flash manually with your own made boot bios disk of winflash 1.76 .

So I recently jumped ship from XP Home to Vista x64 to XP pro x64 and I am having issues updating my drivers I downloaded the MCP55_64_9.17_MW31006 at this site http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1415
NVIDIA nForce 550/570/570/590 SLI System Drivers
When I run the install though nothing happens Nvidia splash then nothing and the files are not recognized by the device manager.
Any idea what the issue could be? sadly need the ethernet update so I can connect to the internet lol also the 2 discs have no effect neither work vista or the xp (tried vista since the x64 drives actually worked on it)

Vista x64 ultimate. I wanted to try X64 XP but I ran into problems thus the original post ^-^
Vista is nice I could live with it for Dx10 but man UAC sucks every attempt to disable = vista freak out and repair the file ^-^
ATM I use XP Home with the DX10 crack (I own vista so I don't see a issue) but yet to install any games on it. I will load up and check it out Still the fact I get medium with x8 aa is good imo. Game looks fantastic and with luck the FC2 engine won't be such a resource whore like crysis. I recall the Sandune (think thats the name) for FC1 even on low settings things still looked fantastic.

• Satellite A300D PSAKCE - Win 7 64bit driver problems

Sorry for my english - google translated
When toshiba plans to release drivers for Windows 7 64bit? I can not use properly my operating system, not to mention that "Toshiba recommends Windows 7", but offers no drivers for it.
The laptop is A300D PSAKCE. every month i go to service because it gives numerous defects.
Before that I was disappointed that the sound card on my new laptop has just Mic recording, no Line in, no Stereo Mix, and had to buy foreign.
What I can tell you is that you need to tighten not a little, much!

Hi
To be honest I also don’t know when Toshiba will release Windows 7 drivers for this notebook but I noticed that every day more and more drivers will be released. I can understand you that you want Windows 7 drivers as fast as possible but for some models it takes longer I think. I’m also waiting for some drivers…
I recommend checking the Toshiba page from time to time. Maybe they will be released in next days. Who knows? ?:|
By the way: Have you tried the Vista drivers? The most of them work on Windows 7 too. I can say this from my own experience.

• Installing windows vista load driver problem

I am trying to load Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 32. I follow the bootcamp assistant instructions. I select "Disk 0 Partition 3 BOOTCAMP" as instructed but the "Next" button will not function. I can tab or select between drives, Refresh and Load Driver but cannot get to Next. The Bootcamp instructions say to load drivers after Windows is installed but I can't get Windows installed?? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Bill

Found my own problem. Had to click on drive options advanced and format. That still didn't work because the disk was too small. Increased disk size and successfully completed install.

• Windows Vista Bootcamp Driver Problems

Hello,
I have installed Windows Vista 32bit through Bootcamp, and the installation went through fine. I inserted my iMac "Mac OS X Install DVD" that came with my imac i bought in august. I tryed to run the program, but it said it was only availible for Windows 7. I could not acsess the internet through Wifi on Windows.
Could anyone give me instructions on how i can get the Windows Vista Drivers without the disk? the drivers, that bootcamp prompts me to install onto a usb, are also for windows 7 only. (ive already tryed this)
Thanks!

The hatter,
While running Vista, I navigate to Bootcamp setup.exe (my 10.6.6 disc is in the drive), it quits mid-launch and tells me Windows 7 is required. But Bootcamp user's manual says Vista is ok.
I'm using an 21.5" iMac with 10.6.8. I installed Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit via bootcamp assistant. Vista is running fine but i can't surf the net. Error msgs say "network adaptor not found." Other forums lead me to believe it is a matter of bootcamp installing the proper drivers so vista can recognize my network hardware. But I can't even run bootcamp in Vista from my snow leopard CD b/c it quits and requires Windows 7.
My firmware is up to date as I checked it manually. According to my boot rom version, I need firmware update 1.9. After downloading and launching, msg tells me it is not compatible with my system. Please advise.

• ThinkPad T60 8741-4SU + windows vista 64bit // temperature problems

ThinkPad T60 8741-4SU - High temperatures
Hi i recently upgraded my pc, bought set of 4gb ram (2x2gb of kingston ram), at that time i was running on windows xp prof sp2 and everything was fine, temperature was ok, idle at ~45C, burn ~70C.. Since i changed my os to windows vista ultimate 64 bit, temperatures are extremely high, idle is around ~60C and if i try to run some stability test that uses both cores at 100%, the temperature gets to ~95C and then i rather quickly stop it, because i dont want it to raise more and do some serious damage..
I dont have any lenovo software installed, i rather use the default stuff in windows - seems more user friendly so far.. So far i downloaded tpfancontrol to see if the fan is working properly and it seems it is, if i manually set it to max RPM, i can hear it, but the temperature is still about the same..
The other thing i am worried about it is that my intel t7400 is supposed to have max voltage at 1.3V, but i often see in Everest monitoring software, 1.36, CPUID shows 1.363, which is more than is supposed to be there, i was trying to see, if something is messed up in BIOS, but there is nothing about voltage - nothing that i can found..
My bios version is 1.03, windows vista ultimate 64bit - fully updated, outside temperature - the same, maybe even lower, laptop is sitting on the wodden desk.. Power setting at windows is set to Balanced, if i set the power saver- system is slow and with high performance the temperatures are running very high in the iddle.. I have the laptop for like 8months..
Other temperatures - idle
1 cpu 58°C (0x78)
2 aps 46°C (0x79)
3 crd 42°C (0x7a)
4 gpu 61°C (0x7b)
5 no5 50°C (0x7c)
7 bat 36°C (0x7e)
9 bus 44°C (0xc0)
10 pci 54°C (0xc1)
11 pwr 54°C (0xc2)
I think i havent forgotten anything, please and thanks for help and helpfull comments!

make sure your ventilation ducts are clean from dirt, Vista put lot more strain on every component of your laptop, so the temperature increase should be normal. Xp is lot less demanding on computer compoents, however it does sound like your heat ventilation fan and fins are clogged with dusts. So open up the laptop to clean away any dusts that maybe there.

• Windows Vista Audio Driver Problem

My Windows Vista Drivers that I got for my MacBook Pro from the installation disk have bad audio drivers. The sound on the speakers is too low, and the microphone won't even work. When I talk into the microphone while under Sound Properties in the Recording tab, it shows that the microphone is picking up sound. However, in Ventrilo, and Windows Sound Recorder, there is no sound from my microphone.
I'm using Bootcamp 2.1. When will this problem be fixed? Will Apple release a new bootcamp version to fix this problem?? This is very important to me.
If anyone has fixed this problem, please tell me how you did it.
BTW, the audio device is called "Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB75)"

Welcome. Make yourself at home.

• MSI KN8 Neo2 platinum & win-xp 64 bit

Now I know this might be in wrong section so dont be coming back with comments...
I got an issue and was wondering if anyone here would know how to solve it.
I tried installing win 64 on a KN8 Neo2 platinum mobo with 2 sata drives in a mirror array...
The install went OK but when I got to desktop it freezed... I rebooted and then nothing.
I know I was using bios 1.4 so I was wondering if that would cause any probs and if I should flash bios to say 1.8...
I used the 64 bit drivers for the NVRAID setup and as far as I can see I got all the relevant nvidia nforce 3 drivers for win 64..
I had to perform a bios recovery for some reason aswell...
I would really appreciate any advice you guys have to offer..
thanx

WHICH 64-bit driver package did you use? nVidia shows 6.25 Beta as the last, while MSI shows a version 6.39. There are also people saying that the nForce4 64-bit drivers work OK for them. It seems that nVidia has gotten a lot of flack from their response that there would be no nForce3 64-bit driver update past 6.25Beta and are still talking about a "future" driver package... for ~6 months now. Did you make a driver disk from the "chosen" package to install the NVRAID drivers during WinXP/64 installation??
For the moment you may have to mix 'n' match from different packages to get a working system but I'd certainly upgrade your BIOS to 1.8 and maybe 1.B or Syar's 1.C. I know that 1.8 has worked for me for a while now with WinXP 32-bit and I've no real reason to upgrade - it certainly works better than the previous version I had which had strange pauses in the BIOS Setup screens. IIRC BIOS 1.4 had an old version of the NVRAID firmware so that could be part of your problem.
