hello all. thnx in advance for help. desperate here. was having an issue. formatted. was doing alright. installed XP Pro. rebooted. installed a few things. rebooted a few times. this last time i rebooted, the bios does not see my WD Raptor 36GB HD. does not see it on SATA 1 thru 4. but will see it on SATA 5 and 6. tries to boot, but restarts and then tries again. last thing i did before this problem started was install nTune and was running one of the things it has. it stalled. hot booted and now here i am. i have everything else unplugged but the A drive, raptor hd and the dvdrw. i just flased the bios and still nothing. here are my components:
K8N Neo4 Platinum SLi
MSI GEForce 6600GT 128 SLi vid card
1 X WD Raptor 36GB HD
3 X 200GB WD 8MB
1 x LiteOn DVDRW

I can no longer see my tabs on my browser. I have checked the settings and have it set to show them but I still do not see them anywhere. Help plz?

When I have numerous tabs open I used to be able to see them along my browser border. My daughter pounded on my keyboard and now I can no longer see my tabs but I know they are there because when I go to close the browser it warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs. Anyone know any tricks to make them reappear?

Try to delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

G5 Dual 2.0 will not see sata dirve, but boots to ide on the cdrom cable

I have a G5 dual 2.0 and it will not see the sata drive. I have a 320 wd and a 80 wd.
At one point last night I was able to partition the hd using firewire and a mac mini. But no longer can see the drive.
I pulled the drive from my g4 with panter and plugged it into the cdrom cable and it boots fine.
How do I get the sata back working?
In info, it show the ide and then says k2 sata root twice below that.
I am running 512 pc3200 ram

Hi, This is a power mac mini 1.42 with tiger
I tried with my macbook and it would not see it, and the macbook was asking to do some crazy thing to be able to use it as storage, just left macbook alone.
When I formated I zero'd all data, then just used whatever was default.
Messing around now, I can see the 80 gig. Panther just installed with much difficulty LOL, so my machine is fine, just need to figure out the drive now
The 320, I will put in a HP machine and use gparted again. Should I leave it unformatted or try a different file system? I think when I wiped the windows from it I left it unformatted the first time.
After I did partition, I made 3 partitions on the 320 and drug my os9 folder onto the second partition, Maybe that did it. This is the first I am really messing around with a g5, so much to learn.
I think zapping pram frequently is what is working so far. Going after the 320 now

P55A-GD65 Can not see Sata III drive

I can not get the bios to see my 250gig sata III. I have it connected to sata#7 white connector.
I tried to first see it, no go. I am trying to fresh install w7 hp upgrade 64bit to my new sata III drive. I can not find the drive. I do not know if it is bad or what?
I set Integrated peripherals- sata 6g/s controller mode to ahci, and in on-chip ata devices raid mode set it to ahci. I tried to install w7 from disc. It just Says I have made a hardware change. Try to do a repair start or start as normal. Then said my boot sector was messed up. I pressed reset and got into bios and set it all back to ide mode.
It would not start normal. But from page it says try w7 disc etc. I told it to start windows normally it did, I have rebooted So I guess it fixed the boot sector..
I am not sure what to do. I can not find the drive, and no place in my bios can I find the sata 7-8 connectors. they are listed as 1-6 and 9.. everything skips 7-8. I am in w7 now. I could do the reg tweak. I want to fresh install w7 upgrade on my new sata III drive. then nuke this sata II and make it a storage drive..
Maybe I need to press a key with w7 disc in during restart. I can not figure out how to make Let me reinstall w7. I did press F6 but I did not know what to do. Upgrading from xp was pretty easy. This sata III and mobo and w7 is a head ake. It is no simple instructions no place to make this stuff work right. Ha ha the manual is no help either.
I do not know if maybe the drive is bad or not. I never had to do this stuff in bios just to install a drive, and then controllers 7-8 show no place. I do not know what to do..

My cam batteries are acting up. Sorry not better photo'. The second photo. I changed out my speakers set up etc, and its photo was with our cam corder, it has no flash.. The top 5.25 bay filter is a test. I need better materials to make a better 1, but it works well, not so pretty tho. If I relax the pantyhose, It looks a lot better, is black. You can not see through it, but less air flow...
The blower box mod I made from a gutted opt drive, uses the rest of the 5.25 bay cage as the lower sides of the box. The top side, the actual gutted opt drive, I used my zig saw, cut along the sides from the top and back end. So it was free to bend down. You can not see from the photo, but it is down just above the top of the mobo tray, and extends out past the back side of the 5.25 cage. With both downward blowing air and is more compressed or moves faster because the top is bent down etc. I cut off the access on the side so not to go past the 5.25 cage. Made a face plate to mount the fan [can crank 103 cfm] to the other end of the gutted opti. It is easy in out, uses my normal case mounting gear, and is flush with the front of the case. The filter and or front cover are separate. I need to make a better filter frame. But it works. I like it for now.. My twin p160 case has the same set up, but using a 80mm face plate and fan, and being a normal 5.25 opti drive as it base, they can go case to case, most all cases have a 5.25 cage, so. I could use this on the lian li case below and just mount a normal fan filter right to the face plate..>>
Build #2, my buds rig, was a snap to build. Not 1 fault in the entire build from- view reliability history. The large case was nice to work in.. Both systems running great and with AHCI support.

I have recently bought a Seagate Goflex satellite mobile wireless hard drive. I have converted some of my AVI movies to mp4 and transferred them to the hard drive, but when I play them through my iPad 2 I can hear the sound but not see the movie. Help???

Unfortunately, the drive is pretty much restricted without hacking it. That is, you can't stream its content via standardized protocols like UPnP, SMB, FTP and the like. This makes you won't be able to access its content from any third-party apps otherwise capable of playing back AVI files from UPnP / SMB / FTP / WebDAV etc. sources.
While this is certainly not a recommendation (I can in no way be held responsible if anything goes wrong): you may want to consider extending the capabilities of the drive by installing the hack: http://www.hackseagatesatellite.com/wordpress/welcome/
It'll "open" the drive for third-party, AVI-capable multimedia apps like GoodPlayer, It's Playing etc. to directly play the files over the network.

SATA ,PATA setup help plz.

i need help with configuring the setup for my system ....and not with promise controller (it gives me trouble) intels controller ...and i want to install XP on my first PATA , and use the rest for storage ... i have tried it .. first time it found the drive .. but as a standard drive (the SATA hd)

i got strange trouble with promise controller .somethings messes things up so partitions dissapear in other drives , cant move files (cant read files CRC failure)
and such things, the name on the SATA drive also messes up when i use the promise controller (some conflicts maby?)

MSI K8T Neo-V Not Seeing SATA HD

i just completed building a new system:
MSI K8T Neo-V motherboard
amd 3200
160 SATA HD
im trying to setup to use just the one hard drive but bios will not recognize it. it does see the dvdrw but not the hard drive. i made sure the sata cable and power were plugged in. i even tried installing xp then f6 to load the raid driver but still no luck. please any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey thanks for your reply. yes i made sure everything was enabled and i just fixed my own problem. just for the heck on it i called msi tech support [talked to a real smart fella] and he told me that sometimes you need to jumper the drive when your using a single hard drive. i played with it a few minutes and it worked. its installing xp right now. i guess you learn something new everyday.

When you post code, wrap it in [code] tags so we can read it.
Also indent it sanely.
If you can't compile, post the compiler error messages.
If it runs but throws an exception, post the stack trace.
If if runs without throwing an exception but you've foolishly written your code to silently catch exceptions, fix your code by actually printing the stack trace in the catch blocks, then rerun.

Since my case is almost entirely see-through,
i like to hide every cable
But i read through my manual,and there was this
little chapter that said : "please do not
fold the sata cable in a 90-degree angle"
(or something like that)
sorry if this sounds stupid,
but are you really not allowed to bend the cables ?
I can't imagine you're forced to
let them just run through your case
in a straight line..

You may actualy fold it a bit, as long as it is not 90 degrees.
The problem is that folding the cables very sharply causes data loss or corruption, it is like in audio equipment.
When you wrap everything together you will likely end up with a humming sound.
Just be carefull not to exagerate.
I do in fact like a few cables running around, it looks more "interesting".
But my concerns are not if it is a pretty sight, but mainly because I don't want to obstruct the airflow in the case and more important, I hate it when cables are running close to fans, they might get stuck in the fans.

N73 - quick help plz

i have a serious problem. i tryed to change housing on my n73 me,and all of the sudden my keypad stops working properly (menu,`c`,`0`,pads wont work!).i have another n73 and i treyd to swap keypads,and that one works on other one.so,both of them work fine.I came to the conclusion that software is making problem. i wanted to format n73 me,but i was disabled to do that.as i was saying,`0` pad doesnt work,so i cant type *#7370#. i tryed `*`,`3`,green key,but it just restarted.my last option is to use pc suit.i updated software version,just now as i wrote,and nothing. it wont work againa! i know that hard reset will do the trick,but i dont know how to preform it! some one plz help!

There is no message as no lock code needs to be inputted and fact that you get choose region screen is message of success. Are you saying that all data has not been erased as device should be in "Out of box" state now?

Yosemite not seeing firewire interface. Help

Just upgraded from Maverick to Yosemite. Opened up a Logic Pro X session and now my machine isn't recognizing my firewire (thru a firewire to Thunderbolt adapter... worked with Maverick) audio interface. System report sees the device on the FireWire Bus, and sees the the Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter. Preferences within Logic don't see it.
Any suggestions?

What is the interface? Model and manufacturer.
Just because your device worked under Mavericks does not automatically mean that it will work under Yosemite. Have you checked the audio device manufacturers website for Yosemite drivers or Yosemite compatible information?

Use iPhone Backup Extractor tool, if you have a locally created backup this should to the job for you! And check out how to import the contacts back to your iPhone using Outlook. You could try exporting the contacts to CSV or vCards (.vcf), this can be done by clicking on the "Extract" option near the top left of the app. Then choosing "Contacts as CSV" or "Contacts as vCard" . When you open these files, you will see all your contacts and numbers. CSV files generally import into any contact manager (Outlook, MobileMe) slightly better, specially Outlook.
You can try using GMail as well (see GMail Contact section), it is very easy to import any of our files into Gmail then sync the contacts to your iPhone.
Alternatively you can actually just email a vcard to your iPhone link email account (extract as vCard not vCards). Click on the attached and the iPhone will open the AddressBook app and display various options.
As for the "freaky deaky" it reminds me of the Austin Powers movie with his freaky deaky dutch.

ITunes not recognizing my ipod need help plz

when i hook my ipod into my computer, the computer recognizes that my ipod is there. it makes the ding sound that windows makes when u add or remove hardware and the ipod shows up in my computer. When i go to update it with itunes 7 though, itunes does not seem to know that my ipod is there. it shows no signs of recognizing my ipod. what can i do to fix this?
