Moved overseas - does the £30 cessation charge app...

Question

I cancelled BT phone / Broadband when I recently left the UK. I got my final Bill and shows the Broadband cease charge of £30.
I emailed BT saying that I moved overseas and challenged this charge, and got a reply that the charge is correct because I had not used a MAC:
"This charge is applicable when customers simply cease Broadband service altogether or move to a different service provider or cancel the account without using the MAC code. [...]  I would like to clarify that the Broadband cease charge on your current BT bill is correct and unfortunately, as per the system we are not in a position to arrange a refund for these charges."
Is this the case??  Are BT correct??
As far as I can tell from the BT T&C: 
 "" When won't the charge be raised? This charge will not be raised should you :-
Move home and you re-connect to BT Total Broadband via the homemover process.
Move home and we are unable to provide the service at your new address.
You are ceasing service due to bereavement or severe illness.
This suggests that moving OVERSEAS falls under 2.
Are there any more recent T&C's?? Am I missing something?  Any ideas how best to proceed, and what to respond to the BT lady to sort this out??

Using number 2 of the T&C you list could be argued by BT that it means only if you move house within the UK that being said it does not specifically say that.
I would suggest calling them if you can as its eaiser for you to argue the point by phone.

If you would rather contact them by e-mail I would suggest escalating your query to a supervisor or a manger.
