Yeah, yeah! I'm happy now with the case solved.
Yeah, yeah!  We have a mainboard here probably blown to pieces for reasons still unknown. MSI Technical Support was never contacted.  Nobody was given a chance to fix this.  The general rule for overclocking: Don't cry if you blow stuff up, was utterly ignored.

I know that you have nothing to do with this situation.
I have not the slightest thing to do with your situation.  It is not my mainboard, I did not overclock it, I did not produce it, I did not break it and it is not my job do provide end-user support for it.  Please keep me out of your equation.  Thank you.

You'll rant too, you know you would...
I have a boxing bag in my attic.  When I get mad about a problem I am experiencing I go up there and hit the bag until the anger is gone.  When it is gone, I go back downstairs and look at the problem in a strictly rational and systematic manner.  I do not need to login into a forum and rant about it.

About the temps getting higher, I was talking about the cpu (Realtemp was running).
How are you cooling your system?  How many fans have you installed and how are they blowing?
What kind of CPU Cooler did you have installed?
Please check the CPU Voltage Regulators and PWM Phase ICs for damage.  Also, inspect the socket pins and look for any kind of damage that may be the result of overheating/overcurrents.

  • I have just bought a brand new iMac plugged it in and nothing, black screen any suggestion, not a great start to my first mac experience

I just bought a new iMac, plugged it in and nothing, black screen any suggestions and the apple support function is no help, real glad I bought the apple care plan and you can only use that if your machine turns on!

If you bought the computer at an Apple Store return it. Let them know you aren't happy about your start in the Mac world. If you bought the computer online and have an Apple Store nearby you can take it there even though you didn't buy it there. Note: if going to an Apple store go online and make an appt with the Genius. Stores tend to be busy so this will give you a time to know you can walk in and pretty quickly get attention. Just walking in with a dead computer you may have to wait a while.
No Apple store nearby? No problem, call AppleCare and they'll take care of you. Ask for expedited return & shipment and again, let the technician know you are new to the Apple world and not happy. The last time I brought home a dead computer I not only got a replacement right away but I got an Apple gift card for my inconvenience.

  • X230 Win 8.1 Pro Fingerprint single swipe power on and login black screen

When i try to log on using the single swipe power on and login feature sometimes the screen will go to the login screen, the finger print scanner will flash, and then i get a black screen. I can see the mouse cursor, but nothing else. If I swipe my finger again, I will see the login screen again briefly, before it returns to a blank screen again. There is no way to get past this, aside from forcing the machine to power down (Hold down power key for 10 seconds).
Does anyone have a solution for this. Powering on the device and logging in with a single swipe is a really great feature, but I need it to not brick logging in.
Thanks for any help or advice.

I apologize I didn't already provide these answers initially.
Questions:1.  Does this happen 100% of the time, or is it intermittent?
I have only noticed this intermittently.
    2.  Does it happen starting from full shutdown (press and hold SHIFT key while you shutdown the computer normally, then swipe to power on and log in).
I have only had this problem when resuming from a state of hibernation.
    3.  Does it happen starting from sleep (swipe to resume the system from sleep and log in)
I rarely sleep the system, but I recall it hanging once or twice when coming back from sleep as well.
    4.  Can you check "View all problem reports" screen in Action Center to see if any crash happens at the same time the problem occurs?
the only problem reports that corresponds with the times this has happened today refer to an problem with the Anti malware Service Executable with the summary being MpTelemetry.
    5.  Can you export registry at these locations:
        a.  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Provider Filters]
        b.  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Providers]
I have this, but unfortunately do not see how I can attach it this post.
Edit: Here is a link to download it directly. Once you respond I'll disable this.
    Link removed
It should also be noted that I do not have a problem when single swipe is disabled. (So I need to swipe twice. One to power on, and the other to log in.)

  • When I power up my 2008 Mac Pro I get the "welcome", chime, fan goes on, a light goes on on my Apple monitor and then nothing - black screen.  Whats going on?

When I power up my 2008 Mac Pro I get the "welcome chime", fan comes on, a light comes on on my Apple moniter and then nothing - black screen. What,s going on?

what you describe as the "welcome chime" is the indicator that your Mac has passed the Power-On Self test, and if a suitable source of software can be found, booting is likely.
If the screen stays dark, the most likely explanation is a graphics card failure. But it could also be caused by a backlight failure in the LCD, so be sure you try shining a bright light at the screen to be check whether the picture is there, but just not illuminated.
Graphics card failure will end the boot-up process in some cases, and not have an impact in others. Two external indications you can use when your display is not working are: The Caps Lock key, which is under the control of Mac OS X, and the Control-Eject dialog box shown below. Note that the default is Shutdown, so a Mac that shuts down in response to Control-Eject followed by Return is working fine.

  • MSI P55-CD53 Shut down and failing to POST

    Hi,
I have (had) a build using a P55-CD53 mother board and an i7-860 and two 2gb sticks of RAM. Everything has been working fine for the last 8 months then today while playing flight simulator the computer just shut down and rebooted.
Now it won't POST at all or show anything on the monitor
All fans running, never hung or rebooted that would suggest a heating issue. This has me completely confused and I am not sure where to start.
I tried removing the ram and re installing one stick at a time.
    I've never done any overclocking
and not sure it is any help but i am only seeing one cpu phase LED whereas in the manual it says i should be seeing 2, 3 or 4 lights.
Any help would be really appreciated.

I'm thinking because it happened during a game it could easily be the power supply that has failed, since the computer will draw most power during this time. If this is the case, you really need to test another power supply to properly diagnose this.
It could easily otherwise be a faulty motherboard or CPU. Testing another CPU in the motherboard (or your CPU in someone elses motherboard) would give an indication of whether the CPU is at fault. If still no life then it's looking more likely the motherboard is dead.
I see what you mean about the phase LEDs. I'm not sure what it means to have just 1 lit up, because as you say, the manual shows 2, 3 or 4 LEDs but not just 1. Perhaps MSI can answer that for you: >>How to contact MSI<<.
Do you have a speaker connected to hear the beep codes? It may help to know if it beeps at all.

  • My macbook Pro Retina is 5 months old. I have nothing but a cursor and a black screen. What gives???

I have nothing but a cursor and a black screen. It's only 5 months old! What gives here? This is my first Mac and I'll tell you, they aren't impressing me.

Did you get it fixed at the store? I have this same problem my macbook pro that I bought at the end of December. I am not impressed and very unhappy that I now need to drive to some store to fix it. I tried to get it fixed through the phone but alas it still does not work.
After spending as much money as I did for this thing that I've only had for less than three months and used maybe less than 10 times, I'm slightly upset. I need to have this working by Saturday.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have a Macbook buyed in New York, Central Park store in january/2009. The screen in start show double screen and then nothing, black screen. I checked the system and is OK, the diagnostic is the screen. Have apple a spare screen???

I have a Macbook buyed in january/2009 in New York in Apple Central Park Store.
When I start the computer appears a double scren, then a few of background and then black screen, ilumitated but black screen.
Perhaps that is a screen fail. Could you please tell me if Apple have spare screen? Can I get a screen, perhaps with some program to assit to customer from Apple?
    Thank you
    Ivan Betancourt

    Ivan,
This may not be a failure of the screen.
Try a SMC reset, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Please post back if this does not help. Are you located close to an Apple Store?

  • MSI GE70 botting and then black screen :(

    Hello!
I recently got my laptop back from service repair, because it had Hard drive problems, and HDD was changed with new one.
But today, when I was playing a game, the PC froze, so i turned it off and now, I get to windows bootup sequence, and then black screen :(.
Is there anything that could be done, or I would need to send it back to service repair and wait anohter month to get it back?
    Kind regards.

Same problem here. The update killed my video. Tried rebooting three times. The audio is fine. I hear the reboot audio. I hear clicks when I press buttons on the remote. But, there's a blank screen.
