Thanks for the help but unfortunately I couldn't revert the BIOS using the file you supplied.
I am getting the same error as with a manual update: Current ROM version is not compatible with something something.
I've used both the manual way and the MSIHQ USB Bootable Tool and BIOS Helper to no avail...

  • P67a-C43 Overclock Issues after BIOS Update

    Hello,
After updating the BIOS to 5.1 (2012-06-12) I can't get a stable CPU OC. In the past I was able to OC to 4.5 with 1.3v CPU Core Voltage and it was stable and now even with 1.35v (max voltage) the system BSODs all the time. Further more, I can't downgrade the BIOS as the latest one updated some firmware that aren't compatible with the older ones. Even if I use the default settings for OC (OC Genie) the system is not stable (4.2 GHZ @ 1.35v - default).
    Any ideas? Thank you !
EDIT: I've just seen some other members requesting "custom files" that allow them to restore a older BIOS version (1.I), if someone could make such a file for my p67a-c43, that would be great !
    CPU: i5 2500k
    MB: MSI P67A-C43
    RAM: 2x2GB Kingston 1600MHZ DDR3
    PSU: Corsair 750TX2
    GPU: HD6970

Thanks for the help but unfortunately I couldn't revert the BIOS using the file you supplied.

  • P67a-c43 boot loop after bios update

Last night, I attempted to update the bios on my P67A-C43 (B3) board using the version 5.1 bios. After the BIOS installed, it restarted and came up with the "all settings were reset to default values. press f1 to run setup. press f2 to continue" I hit f2 and my system keeps resetting in an infinite boot loop. I was able to reset the BIOS using the reset button on the back of the board to get back to the bios prompt, but pressing either f1 or f2 puts it back into the boot loop. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
The blue screens started after a clean Bios flash to the 18b10 bios then eventually it stopped working complety (just doing the start up cycle over and over)
I had tried reseting cmos and it doesnt make a difference, the motherboard will not post , boot , start up at all so default settings cant be set (although reseting cmos would set to default anyway)
Each time the board goes through the start up cycle (i.e. upon pressing start button the board will start up with fans spinning for a second then shut down, start up again with fans spinning for a second then shut down, continuasly repeating until main power is removed) I have used a multimeter to measure the voltage read points on the board and they show that there is no vcore being suplied to the cpu but all other points show the voltage is being supplied to those componants, so imo that is where the problem lies and I would sugest that the other ppl who are having this issue to also try  measuring the voltage read points and see if the same thing is happening on thier boards .
If others are getting the same results (no vcore) then the msi techs should be informed of this issue..(imo)
1.8b10 still is a beta bios. I got random bluescreens with that one also at some point a blinking bios led. So I flashed back from secondary bios (using the first option (change disable in enable)in "security" in the EFI shell to allow flashing from secondary bios), blinking bios led now stopped, Then I flashed with 1.7, no issues sofar cpu now running stable at 4.5Ghz (already 2 days).

  • P67A-gd65 boot problem after BIOS update

I'm not optimistic about this, but...
My P67A-GD65 was delivered with BIOS 1.5. (However, the stickers on both chips read 1.4.) I updated the BIOS to 1.7 using a DOS formatted USB flash drive. (The EM was updated as well.) Things seemed to be running OK.
I foolishly experimented with the 1.8A beta BIOS. I flashed from DOS again. After rebooting, I went into the settings to reconfigure the machine as it had been. The EFI screen hung, so I powered the machine down (from the button, not the PSU).
I've been unable to boot since. No display appears on the monitor. If it is powered down, the power comes back on for an instant, goes off again, and comes up again with nothing on the display. The USB keyboard and mouse never become active, as far as I can tell. I tried a PS/2 keyboard; no difference.
If this board has dual BIOS indicator LEDs, neither illuminates, which indicates that all is serene.
I have cleared the CMOS several times, using the jumper or the button at the rear I/O panel.
Any advice? Is there any way to force the use of the second BIOS? (I've read the MSI dual BIOS FAQ posted elsewhere, but didn't spot anything of use.)
    RMA time?

  • Boot issues after bios update (U430 touch)

    Hi all,
I've been having some problems after updating my BIOS on my Ideapad U430 touch. After updating 7CCN34WW to 7CCN35WW, Windows 7 would not boot. It shows the usual 4 colors swirling to the center and then it stalls. Interestingly enough, at the top of the screen, white dotted lines appear (about 1 cm thick). These dotted lines alternate, turning off and on irregularely. I've waiting at least a half an hour, nothing happens.
Now I figured out how to solve this, which is by changing the boot settings in the bios to Legacy instead of UEFI. After changing it back to UEFI everything works again. But every other day or so it still hangs during UEFI and I have to change the bios settings back and forth to get into Windows. Can anyone enlighten me on this issue? It would seem the bios update is faulty? What's going on? Can I downgrade the bios?
In addition, the following topics are related but not quite the same as they don't describe the exact problem I have.

    hi gannixon,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Yes it is possible that a UEFI / Secureboot check fails something in the  OS UEFI boot after the update.
The system does not support a backflash feature, Reflashing the BIOS might need to be done in Lenovo Service Depot,
If you don't have much data on the unit, I can suggest performing a one key Recovery while on a UEFI mode.
Downside will be Deletion of current files and documents and back up will be required.
    Regards

  • MOVED: Comp won't start after BIOS Update

This topic has been moved to BIOS.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=118639.0

    Hello all
I just updated my X301 (2776LEG) with the 3.12-1.05 bios. Now my laptop won't start up when running on battery, it powers on for a short while and powers off again. This cycling keeps on going (after 30min I switched it off!) but as soon as i connect the power adapter it boots fine. Seems like this bios update f****ed up the battery power part of the computer....
I tried the bios battery trick but it only worked on the first boot and after that the same problem is present.
I have added 2gigs extra memory and a ultrabay battery and it has been working 100% for about a year now. This error started right after the bios update...
Thought that a reflash of the bios would solve the problem but i cannot reflash the bios with the same bios version...
    Any ideas ?
    Kind regards
    Tommy

  • Hp 630 issue after bios update f.33

    Hello,
i have an hp 630 linux (suse) version.
I have buy now a windows 7 cd, and want to switch to that os.
Before bios update (f.16) the installation was correclty done on the internal HD.
after the 1st install, i choose to update all and re-install the os (with dual boot)
now, seems that windows7 installation block saying (italian msg translated, so can be different)
'impossible to install on that hard disk, check installation log)
i have already try to do this in a lot of different way (using a live cd to partitioning the hd)
    1. empty partitioning
    2. ntfs partitioning (done on win7 installation)
    3. standard os partitioning (done on win7 installation)
    4. ntfs part on ubuntu livecd
    5. empty partitionind (fdisk on ubuntu live cd)
the issue standing to internet forum is ahci impl on the notebook, i read that i have to turn it on, but bios doesn't have this option (actually this bios doesn't have a lot of option in any case, that is quite strange, maybe i miss something on how to configure a bios on hp)
    Any help about that?

does anyone know a way to contact direclty hp via email?

  • Qosmio F50 issues after Bios update 1.50

    Hello,
I updated Bios with version 1.50.
I'm working with audio software and I noticed performance issue (about 15% -20% drop in performance!!!).
Front Operational panel is also acting strange.
Now I can't turn the lights off or start Media center or anything else.
How can i downgrade the Bios on version 1.30?
Winphlash won't let me do this.
    Please help!
    Thank you

Actually, it is possible for a BIOS update to break the OS depending on what it changes (both under the hood and the visible choices).
The bios is essentially sitting between the OS and the hardware during boot, so if it suddenly changes the way it reports things the OS might not be able to cope properly. This is especially true in laptops where most of the hardware is integrated on the motherboard.
So if possible try to do a software restore as during the install the OS will rescan the hardware...
BTW, number one rule of BIOS updates is: Never do one unless it fixes something you have a problem with. Although, AFAIR toshiba almost never releases a changelog, so the rule does can not aply here.

  • Msi P67A-GD65 keep restarting after bios update

    Hello
I  have a Msi P67A-GD65 B2 motherboard, I tried today to upgrade bios to version 4.2,after update pc start up showing marvel controller then MSI logo and then computer restart over and over,if I try to enter BIOS will show 'entering setup', and restart again.Dual BIOS led does not light up and is not blinking. What can I do in this situation? How to switch the motherboard BIOS to boot from the other one?

    Quote
Can you verify that, I don't think they make a B2.
Not sure why the hijack in this thread with different hardware involved, but a B2 is a defective mainboard from the beginning, and should have been replaced at the time of the replacement offers over a year or so ago.

I understood that there was a backup BIOS so I felt confident to be able to fall back in some way. Can you help me using that backup?
The Ivy udpate flashes the secondary chip as well on the GD65, so it would do no good to have access to it unless you could get into the UEFI/BIOS somehow to 'enable' the Dual BIOS Auto Update setting to restore the corrupted primary.

  • Z68A-GD55 Overclock Issues after Bios 25.8

    Hi all,
I have a PC I built 2 years ago for my son, which was essentially a Z68a-GD55 motherboard, with a Core i5 2500k CPU and a pair of GTX460s in SLI.  It's been lovely for 2 years, until my son opted to upgrade the graphics cards to a single GTX770.
The system would not boot with the card installed, so I removed it, booted using the internal graphics capabilities and after a google showing similar symptoms as mine but with a GTX680 decided the Bios needed a flash to the latest version.  I can't recall, but I think I was on N70 or something (I declined to take note of what it was - sorry).  Anyway, I successfully flashed to 25.8 which seems to be the latest version (aside, the only thing I ever really did on the machine was occasional run Live Update and update the NVIDIA drivers etc - Live Update insisted I was already on the latest BIOS, and I had to hit the MSI site directly to note there was a newer version - odd).
Anyway, the update was successful, although it did seem to utterly wipe my (modest) overclock settings and store profiles.  I don't recall exactly what I had, but essentially it was something like a 45/46 multiplier with XMP enabled and no fiddling of any voltage or timing settings.  It worked fine.  But since upgrading, I have been unable to replicate it in the same way.  Whilst I have managed to get a stable overclock of x44 and XMP, it is not reading right in the OS.
The problem I am having is that the clock settings/multiplier/turbo boost/whatever is not behaving as it was before.  Before, it would happily drop down to 16x multiplier without load, and associated temps/voltages/fan speeds etc would correspondently  drop.  But now I cannot make heads or tails of what it is doing with regards to power saving.  if I run CPU-Z (latest version as of today) it shows the CPU with a clock speed or 16-44, and the current speed as either 16, or 44, with nothing in between.  The Intel Turbo Boost Monitor tool shows it dropping to the bottom, then turbo boosting to 4200, 4300, or 4400, then back down again when I introduce load.  The Control Center utility (which is the only way I know of to view individual core clock speeds) typically shows them running at 44x, although occasionally one or more will drop down into the high 30s etc.  The worrying thing is that they *NEVER* agree with each other, and even when CPU-Z is showing 16x, Control Center is showing all cores at 44x etc.  In addition, after benchmarking the system with 3DMark11, it is now reporting my CPU with a "stock clock speed" of 4.4Ghz, rather than the proper 3.3Ghz that all my old results presented.
I have tried some messing in the Bios, I turned off "Enhanced Turbo" which was never there on the previous Bios version, but I note that the Turbo Boost values are still showing at 37/36/35/34 for 1/2/3/4 cores respectively, which is seems to be ignoring.
The question is, how can I restore a modest overclock on this machine, that utilises proper power saving, and correctly reports CPU usage and capabilities?
    Many thanks

Well the OC is working, in fact after some further fiddling I have a base OC of 44x that Turbo Boost reports as being 16-63, and single core boosts have now gone up to 4.9 occasionally, so the speed is there, I am more worried about whether is actually is essentially running at either 16x or 44x constantly, and if not, which monitoring tool is wrong?  What's the definitive way of showing per core clock speeds in real time?  As it stands it seems as though when gaming the CPU is going to be clocked at 44x permanently, rather than fluctuate properly with load (i.e. the slightest bit of CPU activity bumps it from 16 to 44 when seen in CPU-Z, Control Center has then barely ever shifting off 44x at all, but the intel Turbo Boost Monitor does seem to show the sort of behaviour power wise that I want, albeit as a simplistic bar graph without labelled axis...
If it's stepping up and down properly and just reporting it wrong, I'm happy.  If it's genuinely running at full clock speeds essentially all the time I'm not.
I would happily go back to the latest Sandy Bridge Bios (I don't understand what the ME firmware is, but I updated my ME drivers in Live Update from 7x to 9x to no avail) if someone can provide me with the file and instructions.
    Many thanks again.

  • Is there a fix for the wifi connectivity issue after ios6 update?

Is there a fix for the wifi connectivity issue after ios6 update?
Cannot connect to any wifi since update to 6.0.1
How do I get update to 6.0.2?
    Will that even help?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

My Qosmio F10 is dead after BIOS update ... it doesn't work anymore .. i update the bios from 1.10 to 1.20

what can i do to make it work again ? or return the 1.10 version?

    Hi
You can check many postings in this forum about the BIOS upgrade procedure.
Mostly the users damage the notebook because of wrong BIOS or wrong BIOS procedure.
If the notebook is dead after this procedure so it could be a damage motherboard.
In this case only the Toshiba service partner can solve this issue. ;(

  • I can't activate windows 8.1 pre-installed on my Toshiba E45-B4200 after BIOS Update

I bought Toshiba laptop Model E45-B4200, at first time I could activate windows 8.1 like a charm.
Few months later Windows 8.1 has crashed, so I did clean install of pre-installed windows, no problem so far. Toshiba Application installer app has downloaded BIOS update, so I ran it.
I tried to activate windows after BIOS update, but it didn`t work. No error message, but Change PC settings window just got minimized every time that I tried to click on Activate Windows option. I thought that I did some mistake, so I repeated windows reinstallation, and same problem occurred again.
Now I can`t update Windows, Office 2013, and so on.
I`ve tried SLUI 4 command to force activation by phone, but it didn`t work as well.
I read on MS blogs that windows 8.1 stores product key on MSDM table, windows should be activated normally. Now I got no options now, can you help me?

It shouldn't need to be activated it. Everything should be automatic. Because it's asking you, that's already indicative of a problem. You might want to call customer support.
