thats what it sounds like ! contact msi and get a RMA # to return the board,as they can reflash the bios.  good luck
How do I do that? It looks like MSIs site is clinically clean of any way to actually contact them...

  • Problem after Flashing BIOS on my B490

I have Lenovo IdeaPad b490 I boughted yesterday.

I have downloaded the latest BIOS update from This Page, but it just downgrade My BIOS version to an earlier version. Before I try to update, the version is 2013. But after update, It show the UEFI version of 2012.
Can I revert The BIOS to the version of 2013?
It also encounter the problem with my Switchable Graphics. The Device Manager told that Geforce GT 720M as my Graphics while I know that my Graphics is Geforce 705M. I also can't use my Nvidia GPU.

  • GE70 2OE stays in BIOS after flashing BIOS -- RESOLVED

I flashed the BIOS on my GE70 2OE-017US tonight. The previous version was E1757IMS.51B, the new version is E1757IMS.51C (http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GE70-2OE.html#down-bios&Win8 64). The flash process was successful. However, it cannot launch the Windows 8 login screen. It enters the BIOS automatically.
I am sure that I downloaded the proper version of the new BIOS file and flashed the BIOS correctly (I flashed to the 51B version from 517 version successfully in June.)
I tried the following, but neither works.
    1. Downloaded the 51C BIOS file and flashed the BIOS again.
    2. Turned off the laptop, removed the power cord & the battery, then installed the battery and connected to the cord, and turned on the laptop again.
The bad thing is that I do not keep the previous 51B version file after the last flash, or I could try to flash back to the old version.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

    The ISSUE has been resolved!!
After checking the BIOS setup thoroughly, I figured out that the following Boot Option WAS DISABLED!
Boot tab -> UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities -> Boot Options #1
The laptop functions again after setting Windows Boot Manager in the above configuration.
I conservatively guess it was introduced by the new BIOS file. Anyway, the laptop works again.
I posted it here in case anyone happens to have the same problem after flashing BIOS.

  • Problems after upgrade bios to v4.3 - P67A-GD65

    Hi to everybody,
I was having a problems after upgrade bios to v4.3 of my mainboard P67A-GD65.
After upgraded bios version (FW) its interface was changed and seemed better. also some specifiactions upgraded that i am now able to follow information of bios in my windows. with Control Center.
    1) first of all after bios upgrade XMP memory section can only be enable şf ş choose OC geniue on. but with this my cpu warm till 98C degree. because i have only stock cpu cooler of intel.
in normal mode xmp can not be activated so that my memory that corsair vengeance dd3 1600mhz works at 1333mhz only.
Also there was information about what is new in this version of bios fw as:
    - Enhanced PCI-E display card performance.
    - Improved memory compatibility.
    2) second problem that i have i wanted to turn cpu leds which were located above cpu slot blue leds. once i turn them off and it is ok. but when shutdown computer and restart it turn on itself.
so may be there have benn occured a problem that mb can not save edited settings correctly?
    3) For last i could not find Winki 3 OS/linuz anywhere is there a link to it to integrate to my mb?
Thanks for your replies from now on.
    Greetings.

And use and install on USB key MSI Forum HQ USB flashing tool from here : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=108079.msg800577#msg800577
    Flash using method 1.
And tell us if that works.

  • BSOD after flashing BIOS

    Hello everyone,
I have encountered a problem after flashing my mobo with a new BIOS (either "official" 3.3 or 3.36 or 3.41 beta which I have received from MSI tech support because of famous >219 HTT problem).
Flashing goes okay, and after reboot, just before the Windows XP loading logo should appear, I get a qiuck BSOD and then restart. It's too fast to read anything, and running Windows in safe mode doesn't help. Returning to the original BIOS 3.1 solves the problem.
But as I've read few people tried both BIOSes and it worked... so where could be the problem?
I'm very sorry for my english...
    My configuration:
    A64 3000+ (Winchester CBBID)
    MSI K8N SLI Platinum
2x 512 MB RAM (Hynix D43) dual mode.

  • System dead after flashing BIOS

I posted the note about my system hanging in the post screen for a few minutes before windows kicks in. It was in relation to hooking up a USB keyboard.  Anyway a simple problem turned into a nightmare.    After doing and checking some of the things some of the guys recomended, I decided to check my version of BIOS through live update. Low and behold a newer version 1.9 was availible, I had 1.5.
The new version also had some USB fixes including....Great just what I was looking for.    Well, everything went fine until it was time to reboot....then my system never came back. The screen was blank and black. I can't even get the recovery floppy to work?    Any suggestions as it was late last night and Im at work now.   Is my BIOS chip fubar?   Is it time to replace this motherboard already?
                                                                                                                                               Mike Dykas

Well gentlemen, I had to laugh when I read the troubleshooting sticky.  It seems the windows booting delay problem with the saitek usb keyboard hooked up  was caused by USB support being enabled instead of disabled.   I will always read the sticky's first from now on.  Sooooo !
Here I am with this beautiful  looking paper weight with lights !
After flashing BIOS from live update  (  I know  now )   my system never came back to me.   I reset CMOS with the button, and I also removed the battery and put it back in.  No help !                                   I made the Bios recovery floppy, for the award bios recovery, but when I power up the floppy never kicks in .    I 'll try and pick up a new CMOS battery tomorrow.  Interesting though that the D bracket lights to  "  initializing Video Interface "  and there she stays.     I'm wondering now If I should just get me a new bios chip. Which to me would be the easiest way to go.  I keep my board intact and everything  stays put.   No loading all the software all over again.  I'm not without, I have my Vaio, but pczilla was my baby........ya know the feeling right.   I don't know of any other course to take unless somebody out there has a better idea, I'm all ears   ............
                                                                                                       Mike

  • Weird annoying noise after flashing bios

I recently built a new computer with the following setup:
    MSI K2N7 Delta ILSR
Athlon XP 2800+ (with stock hsf)
x2 256mb pc2700 Corsair XMS (running dual channel)
    Hitachi Deskstar 120gb harddrive
I flashed the bios yesterday with the MSI Live Update3 utility and the flash went smoothly.  No errors or anything.  I reboot the comp when told to and then as soon as Windows loads up I hear this high pitched electrical noise.  Immediately I shut down windows thinking something was going to get fried.  Then I checked around the components and everything was fine.  So I powered it up again and nothings wrong except this highly irritating sound.  I can't hear it through my headset, and I booted up without the harddrive and cdrom drive plugged in to see if it was those making the noise.  I tried picking up the sound with a mic but it doesn't get picked up.
Another thing is that when I my case and psu (Thermaltake Damier case and Thermaltake Silent PurePower 420w psu which came together), it was on the wrong voltage on the back (220) and although the lights and fans would turn on the computer wouldn't boot, and I think this noise might be from the psu, but it didn't start making the noise until I flashed the bios.  I'm going to a computer shop to have them check it out tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone has had a similiar experience after flashing bios.  My computer works fine but its making this high pitched electrical sound.  I've run various test that come with motherboard monitor 5 and sandra and everything is running fine.  I'm thinking about resetting the bios chip or trying to get the mobo exchanged.
Also, whenever I open a IE window, or open anything it stops for a second, and also when something is loading it stops making the noise for a second.  It doesn't usually start making the noise until windows xp is loading.  I'm definitely sure that its not the hard drive, cd rom drive, or floppy drive making the noise.  I also unplugged the case speaker from the mobo and it still makes the noise.  I turn all the case fans on off and the sounds seems to be coming from the mobo.

I've had both a 300 MHz SiemensNixdorff and a 266 MHz of same brand. Boy, did they take a beeting! Reliable though and good for office work. One of them is still alive, I think. Pentium II both of them, I think.
Two different approaches to noisy system:
    1
    Motherboards making a Siren-sound
If your board is making the sound of a firetruck, BEEP-BOOP-BEEP-BOOP...
    Check the folowing:
    1. CPU too hot
    2. chassis intrusion was enabled in the BIOS
    3. PSU is below min/max allowable value
    2
The beeping is like a siren, High-low-high-low-high-low and it runs till I turn off all power to the system..... I bought a new heatsink and fan today that was copper... waiting till I get home to try it out.....
as far as whether the bios was reading temperature, if I remember right it was set for disabled by default.... will have to check again when I get home what it was set for...

Well, it turns out that it was something to do with my heatsink.... I installed this new one and its running fine as far as I can tell....

  • Z77 MPower loop after flash BIOS

    Hi to all people,
after flashing BIOS from 17.7B4 to 17.8 (from uSB drive in "BIOS Utilities")  the video is black and system is on restart loop but nothing else.
Try to unplug power system, reset  button, gotobios button, clear CMOS with jumper (in power off) but nothing to do: only continuos auto-loop on/off between 20 seconds circa !
    Please help, very frustrating situation.
p.s.: system is in signature, is working great... prior to.

Quote from: Caronte on 30-May-13, 01:26:30
    Hello
manual of Z77 report "do not multi-BIOS  switch when the system is powered on".
I have to go anymore ?
    Ty,
    Adry aka Caronte
ignore that in this situation as its the only way to recover the Failed BIOS without paying a shop to SPI flash the failed chip! (switching BIOS while its on will only cause errors on the chip you switched to but as yours is bricked it cant make it any worse) this will allow you to tell that BIOS CHIP upon restart to Flash by imprinting a copy of the open M-FLASH utility to the chip that can then allow the chip to be re flashed to a functional recovered state.
so just disregard that warning in the manual as the described way we have suggested has a good track record of successfully recovering a bricked chip on M-Power and other boards outfitted with the Multi BIOS hardware switch so just give it a go and all should be good.
the live switching to recover BIOS has been successfully done many times and the info in the manual doesn't have any weight regarding Bricked Chips only ones that are functioning correctly...

  • Problems after flashing msi845pe bios version 3.8

  • Problems after flashing ms-8873 bios

I got an MS-8873 Nvdia GForce 4 MX-440-SES and when i was updating the bios of the AGP Card, my machine freezed in the midle of the process. i gave it 20 minutes before assuming it was freezed and turn it down. Now when i try to boot with this card there is just a series of beeps and no video at all. If i change in the computer BIOS the primary display adapter to onboard vga instead of agp add-on and plug the monitor video conector in the onboard video conector i can boot with the card into the slot but it seems the systems does not asign it resources because when i try to run the vga flash bios update utility it just says there is any nvidia card into the computer. What can I do? I got the next hardware:
    P4 2.4GHZ 533MHZ FSB
    MB ASRock G Pro
    DDR 2100 384MB
Leadtek WinFastTV 2000XP Deluxe TV/FM Tuner
    LG Combo CD-RW/DVD

    xexyrbt,
Check to see if you card has a jumper on it so you can go to the second BIOS.
Word of advice, a Vid Card is not a motherboard. They do not need to have their BIOS' updated, they usually get it right in the first BIOS.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • MSI 770T-C45 won't post after flashing BIOS with M-FLASH

After flashing AMIBIOS 8.3 to v8.7 with M-FLASH via USB stick I can't get any post.
Had I read this forum before I wouldn't have done it, but here I am.
Fan starts, LEDs are off, no beeps at all, power button does nothing. Black screen.
After force flashing (yes, I am THAT stupid) the prompt said it would reboot in 5 seconds and after that nothing.
    Here's my setup:
    Board: MSI 770T-C45
    Original Bios: v8.3
Flashed Bios:  v8.7 (flashed with M-FLASH)
VGA:   EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
    PSU:   Enermax FMAII EG465AX-VE 460W
    CPU: AMD Phenom x4 9650
    MEM: Kingston DDR2-667 4x2GB KVR667D2N5/2G
    HDD: SAMSUNG 840 SSD 250GB
    OS: Windows 8 Pro 64bit
I tried every CMOS clearing method found in previous posts and threads (including this and this.)
    1. Unplugged from power, waited 5 minutes, removed the battery (5mins), changed jumper position (5min), switched it back (5min), plugged it in (5min) and powered up with and without USB stick in the hub next to network hub with old BIOS (v8.3) inside. Pressed CTRL+HOME, anything, not a single message or beep or LED flashing.
Also I removed all RAMs and kept one in the first socket. Nothing.
I really don't know what to do next. What seems to differ from other users is LEDs non working, what does that mean?

The problem here is that after update 8.6 the m-flash module was updated, so yes your mobo is a brick, but there is still hope for it. I had the same situation a few days ago with the exact same model and was able to recover it by following the steps on listed on the below posts:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=133578.0
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=129989.0
It may seem complicated at first, but trust me its not at all.
Anyways you probably already have another mobo, send it for RMA or used it as frisbee, but it may come handy for some other doing the same noob flashing as we did

  • K7N2 Delta problem after flashing from 5.0 to 5.3

I was using my K7N2 Delta nicely but after flashing the BIOS from 5.0 to 5.3 in LiveUpdate3 (all OK) and then when LiveUpdate ask to reboot... GOOD BYE!
When bootin the D-lights show that I have a processor damaged or not intalled properly (two red light up, and two green down...).
My processor is an Old Tbird 1.2 Ghz with 100FSB.
The question is: Why the mother stops recognicing the processor if before flashing BIOS worked nicely?.
    J10 and J11 jumpers:
When I opened case to check out, I had the green J10 and J11 jumpers closed in the mother. The J10 was in safe mode, and the J11 jumper was closed...(133FSB-166FSB??).
I only have another athlon 1.1 ghz FSB100 processor to test the mobo, but I don´t want to take the risk of burn that one two (if is that the problem, of course).
So... I want to know how can I reflash the bios back (I have the old BIOS in a backup floppy disk, of course)... or if anyone else have the same problem as me....
Thanx a lot guys, and please help me... I´m very sad by now... because I don´t know how to get my computer to work.
    Jose.

first of all...lemme apologize for posting this here...it shld go under the BIOS section...but seems like this section gets more reads....
unfortunately i didn't read the forum before flashing my 865GM2-LS from the 5.1 to 5.3 bios version using the "flash in windows" option....flashed the bios as i was having tonnes of prob with the TWINMOS DDR PC3200 512MB ram....blue screen of death kept poppin out with the "error in phyical error dump" or something like dat.....well anyway dats off topic n i had dat resolved
after flashing my SATA hd wasn't detectable...no prob.....simply enabling the SATA controller did the trick..sorry off topic again....juz wanted to highlight all the S**T i had to go thru
however....the prob now is that even with the onboard LAN controller enabled in the BIOS i'm unable to get any IP address...the LAN appears in the windows device column to be working properly...even the icon on the windows tray shows it connected...the thing is that after repeated ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew i'm still unable to get an IP address...i've even disabled the onboard LAN in the BIOS and added a PCI d-link DFE-530TX card n the same problem persists.....windows detects the card n the tray icon shows it as connected....even using USB connection to the modem doesn't work....also i've cleared CMOS using the jumper changes on the m/b.....but i just simply cannot get connected!!!! it definitely is not a ISP prob as i have another pc which i tried connecting...no problem at all
i even tried reinstalling the INTEL INF n the LAN drivers that came with the installation CD all over again....and without avail

u have juz made my day man!!!! after almost 12 hrs of tinkering... changing to the static ip of the other pc....adding PCI LAN card....disabling on board card....reinstalling drivers....ALMOST flashing back to the older firmware version for the m/b...n it boils down to a simple on off switch...muahahaha
