Agree with RX8, the battery had been designed inside the machine, not an easy job to take it off.

Hi there,
this is my first post here so I may have picked the wrong section for this thread.
Yesterday I got my first MSI laptop, a GS60 2PE (the full HD one..had a very good deal). I don't plan to carry it a lot but more about staying at home and doing 3D modeling and videogame, so I think I will stress it a lot. Should I remove the battery and keep going with the AC adapter?
I read a lot of review before buying it. Some of them thought that the hot temperature was due to cpu,gpu AND the battery, so maybe removing the battery will give a bit of space for air ventilation without having another component getting warm.
Doing this will mean turning off the hybrid system. Is that worth it?

  • Qosmio X - Should I remove the battery during mains use?

Just a quick question. I'm using the laptop mostly at home so its plugged in via the mains adapter most of the time. Question will this shorten the life of the battery by permanently trying to trickle charge it, or is the internal electronic sophisticated enough to stop trickle charging the battery and hence a slow degradation of the expensive battery?
I am just wondering if I should remove the battery during mains use if this is the case.

    Hey,
Its really no problem when you leave the battery installed in notebook even you work the most of time with AC adapter.
I dont have QosmioX notebook but the most time I also work at home and battery is always installed and AC adapter is connected. No problems at all for years now.
Furthermore if the battery is charged, the charging will be stopped and battery will not be used anymore. Power will only be used from mains. :)

  • Should I remove the battery when...

I have my MBP plugged on AC?
    if so, why?
    Thank you
    Guido

You could have looked this up. It's been discussed many times. Running your MBP without the battery (a) risks loss of data if the power is disconnected, which can happen easily with the MagSafe adapter; and (b) throttles the CPU speed to a maximum of 1 GHz. If you want those features, then by all means take the battery out.

  • Should I remove my battery from my macbook Al?

If I am using my macbook Al "for-days-on-end" connected to a 24"LED Display should I remove the battery or does it not matter?
I read Li-ion batteries are not affected and have a set lifespan no matter how long or how many times you charge them - but wanted to confirm this info.
    Thanks!

Leave the battery in. Running it a few hour a week without external power may extend the battery life a bit. If you run without the batter, it won't run at full speed.

  • Small electric shocks, laptop refused to start until I remove the battery and put it back in.

    I own a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series i7537T-5005sLV.
A short while ago I tried to power on my laptop but it didn't come on. I thought that the battery drained and I didn't notice however when I plugged in the power cord no lights came on. I decided to open up the laptop and remove the battery and put back the battery and try to power on the laptop. It came on after doing that and I saw lights again.
I also notice that after reseating the battery, the latency between pressing the power button and the laptop actually coming on is shorter. It is almost instantaneous. Before there was about a 1.5 seconds delay. (THIS COULD BE MY IMAGINATION THOUGH)
I also noticed that I got little "pinches" or small shocks when my skin comes in contact with the edge of the laptop, especially at the end of the palm rest area. The shocking sensation could be cause the hair on my hands as my skin brush along the edges of the laptop as I type. I say this because I've never experienced a shock touching anywhere else on the laptop and I never felt a shock while using the tips of my fingers to touch the edges.
One last thing I feel I should mention. Around the SD card slot area there is a small dent protruding outwards; barely noticeable. It was a brand new laptop and the seal on the box wasn't broken or tampered with so I am assuming that this was a manufacture's defect. One I was willing to overlook since the dent wasn't that bad and added some character to the laptop. However I am beginning to worry that the unit might be damaged and that is why I had the power issue.
The laptop is about two weeks old. I had to replace the first one because the display had horizontal waves running from top to bottom. Even in the BIOS. They were especially visible against gray backgrounds.
I don't want to have to return another one and I like the laptop but if it is unsafe to use then I'd rather send it back and keep my life.

    Hi Groudie,
I would suggest you to use the system in a work place or your friends place to check if issue reoccurs.

  • Is it true? Do I need to remove the battery?

Another post mentions the need to remove the battery when the laptop is on AC power  I hadn't heard this before.  Should I be removing the battery when I have it plugged in?  (Which is most of the time)

    Hi
When computer is connected to wall outlet it will charge the battery until 100%. Is it harmful to battery if it is kept at 100% charged for     long time.
This is now becoming an urban myth   Once upon a time it might have some basis in fact however with lithium-ion batteries it doesn't matter.  For a start, they are not constantly charged, as this would cause an explosion, so they charge to full and then the charging stops.
Some articles state it is best to keep battery at 40-50% when it is not to be used for long time. How to achieve when it is always     attached to the computer?
That's only required for long term storage when the battery isn't being used to help prevent it aging.
Lithium-ion batteries whether being used or not slowly degrade from the very first day they leave the factory, you might as well have it in the laptop even if you use the mains 99% of the time to get some benefit of an un-interruptible power supply rather than leave it in the box where it will age anyway.

    Phil

  • CAMILEO P10 - How to remove the battery ?

    Hello,
How can i remove the battery from my CAMILEO P10 ?
I wanna use two batterys, but can't remove the first :(
    PLS HELP !
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi
The battery is placed at the bottom of the camera near the SD card slot.
It should not be very tricky to remove the battery.
You need to push out the cover which secures the battery bay in order to get access to the battery. Then press the battery inwards to release it.

  • Removing the battery

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there were any steps to take before removing the battery? I dont like to leave it plugged in fully charged, but i like to listen to a lot of iTunes. Yesterday I tried to remove the battery (my first time doing so on this machine), When i woke the computer back up it had crashed and told me to restart. It was plugged in to the power source the whole time. Did I do something wrong? I'm nervous to try it again... Any help?

I'm running mine with the battery out a lot of the time, too. I think the biggest win is not having the battery cooking away at MBP degrees, that sort of heat is one thing that the lithium batteries really don't like.
The worry about charge cycles killing it has 3 stages - firstly, once upon a time, laptops would just keep on charging the batteries - that was bad. To stop this, lappie makers started putting in the debouncing step, so the battery has to drop to 95% (or whatever) after a full charge before it'd get charged again. Only over time, batteries max capacity falls off anyway, so after a while it'll think it's only 95% charged, and cook it. The recalibration option is the 3rd step, it should be happier if you do actually recalibrate it every couple of months, so that the lappie knows what full charged is for that battery. Maybe apple should go as far as prompting you occasionally.

  • Can't remove the battery

Hi, I know it's a problem hardly resolvable via internet, but... Why not to ask? I want to remove the battery of my mbp because I guess that by using directly the power plug I could prolong the battery life (isn't it?). BUT I am not been able to remove it: I push the buttons until the red appear and I hear the click, but then the battery is still blocked. There is some special procedure?
    (sorry for my english)

    To remove the battery
    - Shut down the computer (or put it to sleep). Disconnect any cords connected to the computer.
    - Turn the computer over.
    - Locate the battery release latches on each side of the battery.
    - Slide both latches up. The battery should pop up slightly.
    - Lift the battery out.

  • Remove the battery by myself?

Hi, my battery runs out for months and discover that the battery was inflate and is pressing the trackpad up. So I decided to remove the battery.  Question: Should work without the battery? It will affect something?.
I do this because I live in Peru and there is no apple support here, only resellers.
    Srry for the bad english.

  • Should I drain the battery of NEW iPad to 0 before fully charing it or not?

I am first time New iPad owner and I like to find out if i should complete drain the battery on the new iPad before giving it a full charge or just charge it right out of box for a better battery life in the long run. I think i read it somewhere that I should fully charge a NEW iPad for a better battery life, but I forget if i should drain all the battery (my ipad already has 92% battery life when turned on) on it before charing for the first time or just charing it right away for a full charge.

If it needs charging then charge it. Don't worry about it. There's nothing specific you need to do.

  • Should i keep the battery on when it is connected to the AC

    hello
    i have a question:
my macbook is always vonnected to the ac,, i don't move it around"seldom"
so i'm owndering,,will this affect my battery,,
should i keep the battery on when it is connected to the AC?
    or should i remove it?
    thanks in advance

    Hi multiple 1,
Modern battery technology now prevent battery becoming overcharged or create memory effect, so like First Magus said, it is ok to leave the battery in your macbook all the time.
But apple also recommend user to use their battery once a while or calibrate to refresh the battery cell.
    Good Luck.

  • Updated to 4.4 and now my Bluetooth 'studders' when listening to music and a phone call. Yes I have reset the phone and removed the battery.

I just updated my Note 3 to 4.4.2. Since then when I listen to music or make a call on my Bluetooth my music and calls 'studders' and has some type of 'drop-outs' during the music and calls. This was not the case prior to the update.
Yes, I have power down the phone. Yes, I have removed the battery and restarted the phone. My Bluetooth headset is an LG 730. I tried listening to music on my other Bluetooth devices and they also 'studders' and has drop-outs during calls and music. I connected with a wired headset and the 'studdering' disappeared.
Is there a way to revert back to the previous 4.3 version of Android. I use my phone extensively for business and drive with it. The law for my state requires 'hands free' usage of my phone.

Unfortunately, I was forced to do a factory Reset. This wiped the device to a new state.
Afterwards all Blue-tooth, wi-fi and calls operated fine.
I would advise that you notify your customers that they would most likely have to do a Factory Reset once they update their device.
All contacts, pictures, data and applications were either lost or had to be reinstalled.
