lDaGGerl my friend , it worked !!! i don't know why but i did what u are saying and the PC booted normally !!! i didn't left the battery for a whole day but for 3 hours and it worked ...
anyway , after arriving at the welcome screen of Windows (it was such a sweet image !!) , the same thing happened. The pc froze and after restarting then it doesn't post again ... the proccessor is ok , the mobo was showing bios version 1.8 , so i guess it is an issue with the RAM ... I will run a test with different ram and let u know ...

It should be related with your Maxtor SATA-II HDDs. You might connect them to SATA1/2/3/4,which are controlled by nForce4 chip. So first set them as SATA-I mode and update their firmware. You need to contact Maxtor Technical Support and get the latest firmware. Check Maxtor's knowledge and you can find the correpsonding information. Also you can also find the related in this forum such as the following thread.

  • Problems with tomcat-3.3 (urgent help needed)

    Hello!
I am using servlets with tomcat3.3. I'm using JDBC to gain access to an ODBC MS-Access db. My problem is that at the client site a SocketException is generated which says 'socket write error-connection reset by peer" or 'socket write error (error code =10053) . My observation(belief) is that this happens only when user press refresh(F5) of the browser before the first request gets processed. At that time error is ignored but the server gets sort of hanged in a couple of hours. The error does not get caught when entire code inside doGet() is put inside a try-catch block. PLease please help.

  • 2 'problems' with the K8N Diamond Plus

    Hi there.
I just bought a K8N Diamond Plus and I'm having some troubles installing my system in conjunction to my Decklink Extreme PCI-E ( http://www.decklink.com/products/sd/ ).
    Here's my configuration:
    MSI K8N Diamond Plus
    AMD64 X2 4400+
    ROSEWILL 6600GT PCI-E VGA
    Decklink Extreme PCI-E
    2GB  RAM ( 2 x 1gb) Kingston
    OCZ-520 12U Modstream Power Supply
    plus 6 HD's (7200rpm) and 1 DVD-+RW
The problem is, when I try to initialize the system with the Decklink, which it's a PCI-E 1x, it just don't boot. Neither putting the Decklink on the 1x, nor in the 4x slot and nor in the 16x.
The Decklink is working just fine in another system and doesn't seem to be a problem with this card.
I wondered if there's any limitation in the K8N Diamond Plus with working with the ROSEWILL 6600GT PCI-E VGA plus the Decklink.
    =======================
The other thig is that when I take off the Decklink, the system boots normaly but a message appears while booting: "Not enough space to copy PCI option ROM 00:13:00".
And I don't have a clue about what's going on.
    =======================
Please enlighten me with this questions if possible.
    Thank you very much.
    Greets.
    Igor Bineli

Remove the battery away for 10 minutes, clear CMOS, start the system to load setup/optimized defauts in bios setup. After that, disable all onboard items in bios setup that you won't to use.  Save and exit.
Plug ROSEWILL 6600GT PCI-E VGA card,  and start your system to check if there is the error message. If there is, borrow another brand VGA card to do a test.
Besides, update your MB bios and driver version to the latest one.

    rohini,
go to RSA1->Modeling->Source Systems and right-click on your BW system, and click on 'Replicate Datasources'.
also, go to the ODS that's causing the problem (via RSA1->InfoProvider and go to your ODS), right click and click on 'Generate Export Datasource'.
one more thing, make sure that all your record/s in the source ODS is active. if you're not sure manage its contents and click on 'Activate'. if there are any entries in the the next screen that comes up, you need to activate it first, then try everything again.
let me know what happens. also try to look for error messages in ST22 and SM21 that may be related to this and post whatever possible error you see there here.

  • Problem uninstalling MaxMSPRuntime on mac - urgent help needed

    Hello there,
I've been using Cycle 74's MaxMSP Runtime version 5.1 for a while but recently had to witch to an earlier version to make some hardware function along side the Max runtime environment. The problem is that where i would usually just drag and drop Max 5.1 into the trash to uninstall it, for some reason, after i have done this and try to install the older version of Max, OSX wont let me install Max 4.0.8 as it says an updated version is currently installed. I have scoured my hard drive for the remanence of Max 5.1. and deleted everything i've found. Is there a way of overriding macosx and getting it to replace Max5.1 with an older version?
Urgent help needed as i am playing a show this weekend and currently am not able to get my equipment to function.
A shiny nickel for the one who saves my ***.
    Thanks
    Henry

    Hi- Try this...
If you can, reinstall or use time machine to recover your recently deleted MaxMSP Runtime 5.1.
Then, download AppZapper. It is a utility that helps you cleanly delete programs off your mac. It is free for the first 5 uses.
    http://appzapper.com/
Then, install AppZapper, and then go ahead and drag the MaxMSP Runtime 5.1 into it, and it should hopefully get rid of the pesky program

  • Reboot problem with MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and 250 GB SATA HDD

I'm having a "reboot" problem with my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. After turning my system on it will run without any problems, until I reboot. After a reboot it will always hang after the initial windows-bootscreen. The HDD-light will remain on. If, instead of going into Windows XP SP2, I try to enter the BIOS after a reboot (DEL) the system will also hang (blank screen with blinking cursor).
It started doing this after I installed the Maxtor 250 GB SATA disk. Before, I didn't have problems rebooting. If I disconnect the Maxtor drive I can reboot and enter BIOS and Windows each and every time. Reconnecting the Maxtor 250 GB SATA drive will return the reboot problem. I always have to use the power swith to get a working system again. It's not enough to do a hard reset (this has the same effect as rebooting).
Here are the details of my system:
    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (BIOS 1.B)
    Athlon 64 3200+ (Winchester, 2 Ghz, 512 KB cache, stepping DH-D0)
    2 x Kingston KVR400X64C25/512, 512 MB, DDR, PC3200 (2,5-3-3-8 T1)
Asus Radeon AX800 Pro (256 MB)
    PSU Antec Sonata 380W
HDD Maxtor 80Gb ATA (6Y080P0, Pri Master)
    HDD Seagate 250Gb SATA (ST3200822AS)
HDD Maxtor 250Gb SATA (6V250F0 - jumpered in SATA150 mode, the mobo wouldn't work with the drive in SATA300-mode)
Aopen COM5232/AAH Pro CD-Writer ATA (Sec Master)
BenQ DW1640 DVD-Writer ATA (Sec Slave)
P.S. The NVidia IDE-drivers are NOT installed. System is not overclocked.

Thank you for all the replies. Upgrading to the latest Nvidia IDE-drivers did not fix my problem. Moving to other SATA-ports did not help either. Upgrading the mobo's BIOS is not really an option (I'm using one version before the most recent and there isn't anything in the fixlist of the latest BIOS).
Now I've contacted Maxtor for (hopefully) a new firmware.

You may firstly clear cmos and load defaults in the bios, and if it is available, please attach us a picture of the screen which the issue occurred when you hit enter during the its detecting the SATA hard disk. I am a little confused about what you said. Please tell me what changes have you made before the issue took place. I just want to help, so do many other people. But please firstly give us more detailed information.
I did it and nothing! Should I restore the original bios version that came with the mother?
I'll explain the problem: You enter BIOS, go to the disk properties (where says LBA, LARGE, CYLINDERS, HEAD, etc) and hit enter, usually the screen goes blue and shows a line at the bottom of the screen (they are like triangles pointing downside) and 2 seconds after everithing comes back showing the data of the disk ok? Well, now it hangs forever in the "triangles pointing downside" part and I have to restart the machine...
Does this belongs to the issue of the K8n neo4 platinum with the maxtor hdd's ??? The mobo is malfunctioning?
    Please helpppp! Thanks!

  • Problems with MSI K8N-Neo3 and Command Queing.

I had some problems with two computers, based on the MSI K8N-Neo3 mainboard - they wouldn't boot into Windows after installing the drivers for the graphiccards. Before the breakdown of the forum, some people suggested that I was using to small PSUs. In the meantime I've solved the problem, by disabling the Command Queing feature in the drivers. Seems there may be a problem with the MSI board, and Maxtor SATA drives with Command Queing.
Key system components for the two computers:
    AMD Sempron 3000+
    MSI K8N-Neo3
    1 GB Kingston PC3200 DDR-SDRAM
MSI GeForce 6600GT or MSI GeForce 6600LE graphics
Maxtor 120 GB SATA disk (6L120M0)
    Sony DVD-RW drive
Anyway, I wanna say thanks for the quick answers...

Thats not what I read (assuming this is the same correct model)

    +3.3V 28 Amp.
    -5V 0.5 Amp.

Agreed that one is 420W, but is that it or not?

  • Optical Out problems with MSI-K8NS Motherboard Adapter

I have an MSI-K8NS motherboard which came with an extra PCI mount bracket for coax/fiber digital out sound. I just bought a Creative surround sound system set with digital decoder. I hooked the header into where I believe the pins should go into the motherboard and even have a light at the ends of the cable (seemingly has a signal, I presume). I have no idea how to enable this in software, however. The Realtek software that is installed doesn't seem to have any configuration for this digital out, and I can't find a way to use it. I've searched these forums, but still have no idea what's going on. Could someone please help?
    Thanks!
Edit: Ok, so it looks like the SoundManager software needs to be in 8 channel mode for spdif to work. I don't understand that, but at least I got it working. Hope this bit of info could help someone else out!

My best guess is because you are running the default BIOS. Try running with one stick of ram just to start with, so that you have a stable enough system to upgrade your bios to 1.3
I tried running the system with a single stick of ram and still the same thing happens
    Quote
did i miss it or have you not mentioned that since your ram is 166MHZ you have changed the memory divider to 166 in BIOS?
When I started the computer up, the motherboard automatically picked the memory modules up as 166Mhz.
    To Paul:
I tried to run the memtest86 several times.  It starts off for a while, then the computer hangs up as pervious situations.  It could just be that the RAM i am using is imcompatible.  I may have to invest into Corsair RAM modules.

  • Problems With MSI K8N Neo Platinum

Posting some probems I have face and wondering if you folks have experience similar problems. I bought 2 and bot hahve same problems (sold both of it). Another friend of mine have also same problems with the board.
    1. SATA 1/2 don't work properly. I have detection problems using SATA ports 1/2. The comp will not detect my IDE devices and hang at POST screen. Reboot/reset don't solve the problem. I have to turn off and on to get it to work. Problem is only sovled after switching to SATA 3/4.
    2. Network disconnection problem. The NIC will auto disconnect and reconnect back by itself, esp. when under overclocked conditions.
    3. Cannot overclock much using DIMM slot-1 esp. when mem is over 230MHz. Must change to slot 2/3. Even so, I do face BSOD stating an USB driver is the cause of the issue.
    4. Comp will sometimes unable to reboot at FSB between ~210-240MHz. 250Mz and above seems OK.
Now, I am using Abit KV8 Pro 1.1 and it works fine though. No FSB reboot issues. I am using 1.1 with latest BIOS, thus not AGP/PCI lock issues. Hope MSI will fix those problems mentioned ASAP cause my Abit don't work with mobile A64s. :(

Seriously, I have absolutely no idea. It may be a QC problem, it may be a design problem, its may be BIOS or others. The only thing I know that after I jump ship to Abit KV8 Pro 1.1, all these problems are gone. Only problem is that Abit don't support mobile A64s.
BTe, just another problem or maybe over conservative restrictions. When using DDR333 RAMs, the BIOS will not allow you to manually set it to 400. Thus at 200MHz FSB/HTT, your RAM is stuck at 166MHz. Pretty stupid restriction I have to say.

i ve got this mobo last week and when i tried to install the card to it nothing comes on screen, no beeps or nothing, ive changed the power supply, the card works fine on my old pc with both power supplies (old pc was 2500+ amd with epox 8rda+) i ve tried booting up with nothing else connected on the psu except the card itself, it still doesnt seem to work, the new motherboard works fine with my old radeon 9600 pro.

  • Big problem with MSI K8N neo 2!!!

I don't know what it is, but it's a big porblem that many people have with their new K8N Neo 2 Pl motherboard. The problem is that the system freezes and you must push the power button or the reset button.
It happens randomly, when i move my mouse, when i am copying something, when i download something.
I have already updated my bios, with no result. My brother has totally the same specs like me. We bought it at the same time and he has no problems and my pc freezes all the time.
    What could it be?
    specs:
    3800+
    POV 6800 Ultra
    Twinmos Matched 1Gb PC3200
    2 x 160 Gb maxtor Diamandplus 9
    Akasa 460 Watt.
Msi what the have you done with my motherboard?

How does that dual power rail thing work? can one device pull from both at the same time? (i.e. the cpu) if not the 14/15 amps from only one of the rails wouldnt be enough, if that is not the problem, it sounds like you got ahold of some dodgy memory. run memtest86+ from a boot floppy, if it clears 10 hours, well start looking for other culprits. it may very well be the motherboard, but the best way to get help is not to go on a forum dedicated to that manufacturer and start cussing at them.

  • Sudden shutoffs with MSI K8N Neo4-F motherboard

I have reviewed other posts on this forum and it appears that this is usually a PSU problem, but mine is somewhat recurring, so I thought I would post to check.
I built this computer ~3 years ago. After a couple of years I would experience random shutoffs. Either when I was using the computer or not, the computer would suddenly shutoff without warning ~ once or twice a day (often but not always associated with reading/writing to a second hard drive as part of a backup routine). In order to start the computer again I have to unplug it, wait for the flashing power light to turn off completely and then plug it back in again.
I replaced the power supply with a RAIDMAX Hybrid 2 RX-530SS +3.3V@28A,+5V@34A,+12V1@20A,+12V2@17A, [email protected], [email protected] and the problem was corrected for several months.
A few days ago the problem reappeared exactly as it was before. What is the probability that it is again the power supply? Could something about the motherboard be frying the power supplies? I don't have access to another one so I would like to narrow it down before I have to replace something. Replacing this old 939 motherboard won't be easy, so I hope to avoid this.
    Thanks!

I got a new one of the Raidmax power supply, which did not resolve the issue. Because the same exact configuration had worked for over 100 days (and for about 2 years with a previous, weaker power supply), I decided it was the motherboard. I realize this wasn't an ideal power supply, but again, the fact that this configuration had worked for so long indicates to me that it is very unlikely to be the power supply (unless the motherboard has become more picky with time).
I replaced it with a ASRock 939Dual-Sata2 and everything appears to be working great now!
Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I thought I would update the status so that other people searching in the future would know that replacing the motherboard could solve these problems (although because I didn't replace with the same motherboard I can't be 100% sure that it was solely to blame here).
