Moved to France and Now Can't Set Up Email Accounts

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520.  When I was living in Canada, I was able to register my gmail email account to receive emails on my phone.  I have now moved to France, and when I access the Setup Wizard to add my email accounts, the option to add my private email account has disappeared.  I only have the option to add a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server.  How can I add my private email account?

Hi lvu
This sounds like your provider in France has not setup the correct BlackBerry data plan for you.  It appears you have their Enterprise Plan, however, you will need their Prosumer plan to setup personal email via BIS.
Thanks

    2. register your  email accounts you want to add to your phone.
    3. then try and register them on your phone. it should work.

5 to make hot mail work you could use the hotmail app found in your text messing folder or download it from the ovi store.

  • I put in my childs birth date and now I cant set up an account.

I was setting up an account for my son. I entered his date of birth since I thought that might help in limiting content. Instead, now I can't set up an account with his email addres at all. Anyone know what I need to do? Thanks!!

Is your child above of the age of 13?
If not you will have to use another web browser or a iOS device to create the account - if they are not of the required age of 13 you will have to create the account under your name and use your own birthdate

Hopefully, this information will be of use to you. Note carefully please the sets of links discussing restrictions regarding the reset email...you must, for example, have separate access to that email account (e.g., from a PC) so as to receive and act upon the reset. Further, you need to be careful about SPAM or other filters you may have on that account.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 - Can't set up email account (Have read previous posts and can't figure out problem. Please help.

    Hi,
I just bought myself a new Blackberry.
I've been trying to set up my email account through the wizard set up and have been largely unsuccessful. I read a couple of posts that have given a step-by-step process. My only problem is that I don't have an option that says 'Add account.' Here are the steps I've followed:
    1) Go to Email Setup
    2) Choose 'I want to create or add an email address.
    3) Click next
    4)Click next again
5)Then, I get a message which says 'Existing Users, to log in, please provide your username and password.'
I don't have an option to add an account.
When I put in my username and password into the fields, I get a message saying please enter a valid username.
(My service provider already set up my Gmail, and couldn't add the other one. I told him I'd figure it out)
    Please help!)
    Thanks so much.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
The reason you can't log in is that, when you had your carrier set up your GMail, they created a BIS account for you. Further, they created BIS credentials on that account -- which are then needed to access the BIS configuration screens even on the BB. You need those credentials. Contact whoever it is that set it up for you and have them tell you those credentials.
    Good luck!

  • Updated to Bundle 3049...and Now Can't Access my Email

    Hi there!
I have an issue. I updated my bundle for OS 6.0 to 3049 (from 2409ish) today (Dec. 10, 2011). Since I was out and about, I updated via OTA rather than thru the comp. So far everything is A.O.K, and not haywire...sort of. Every time I try to verify my email it comes across with:
"Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again.."
I have checked and double checked all of my information, and have verified thru the independant email sites that info is correct...so I know that is not the issue. I also googled the bundle update, and found someone out there has had the same issue...which Sprint has said is a BB issue, not a carrier issue. I have unlimited messages, so that also is not a problem.  The person that I found who had the same issue (found on a related BB site) basically had to do a complete wipe, and then put this bundle in via computer to get the email addresses to stick.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you solve it? I have read of many who have had the Style having to either get new phones, or doing complete wipes to get their phone to work right...and I am hoping that is not me. I have also searched the forum here, and so far, haven't found this topic...maybe others out there have had the same thing.

Found someone with a BOLD 9650 who had the same issue, with the same update. Here is a fix that I found worked well...and I am posting in part from that one so others will know.

  • Error Message- Changed email passwords and now can't scan to email

Changed google email accounts and now wont scan to email, error message.
How o I change or confirm passwords. It has also lost air print.

    Hi @sellingsf ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you need to update teh settings for your scan to email feature and have an Airprint issue.
    I would like to help.
First you will need to gather your printers IP address.
Touch the wireless icon on the front panel of your 8600.
If it says IP no link, your printer has fallen off the network. This would be why Airprint is not working.
Once you have the printers IP address, open safari or chrome.
In the address bar type the printers IP address and press return.
This should take you to the printers Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Once at the EWS you should see the scan to email setup.
Choose the option to edit the email and type in your new password.
    Save and test.
With the inability to Airprint, go into system preferences.
Then go into printers and scanners.
Select the 8600 plus and click the minus icon to remove it.
once the printer is gone, click the plus sign to add the printer again.
If you encounter any 'hiccups' or require further assistance, please let me know.

  • Can't set up email account!

When I purchased my Curve 3g about a year ago, I setup my email account like normal and it worked fine over this past year. Recently I had to change my email password on the computer, and it caused my blackberry to no longer be able to send or receive my emails. So I went back into setup and went to the email set up so that I could change my password on my phone, but when I click the "Email Accounts" button in set up, it doesn't go anywhere. All of the other setup icons work except the email one. Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Craig Little

Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...
    1)
    • Go to mobile.blackberry.com
    • Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
    • Choose the appropriate email set up options.
If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.
If not, follow these additional instructions:
    2) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.
    3) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
    4) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    5) Now, return to the 1) mobile.blackberry.com email setup as mentioned above and follow that.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

  • Can not set up email account on Q10

Click through the add account set up, enter email address.  Add password.  On to gmail access the account, password again, click done then..."at this time your email account can't be added.  Please try again later." I have tried many, many times.  I want to buy an iphone.

    skipperted wrote:
"not at this time try later"
Is that the exact and complete content of the error message? I suspect not, for when I search on that in the public KB database, there are far too many hits to figure out which may apply. You should probably search on the exact error here:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.do
See if perhaps there is a relevant article. You can also try searching on things like BB10 GMail Configuration Error, or something similar, to see if you can find a relevant article.
Also, is this free GMail or paid Google Apps? If free GMail, did you first integrate the account as EAS to this device prior to time when Google cut that off? If not, then you can only use IMAP for configuration, and may also need to beware of whatever authentication levels (1 or 2 step) you have configured on your Google account. Further, you need to be sure you allow GMail to face IMAP to the Internet...you control what GMail faces for free accounts, either POP IMAP or both...I recommend disabling POP and only allowing IMAP to be enabled.
Beyond that, what exact OS are you on please?
Article ID: KB23393 How to check the model number and version of the operating system on a BlackBerry smartphone
Please note carefully that "Software Release" is NOT the number I am requesting. Depending on the age of your device OS, it could well be that you have an older OS with issues that have been resolved with later OS levels.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Can't set up email account for aol!

I tried to check my AOL email account on my phone this morning. Hpwever it said that my username or passwors was incorrect. Thinkong this might be from the 4.2 update I deleted the account and tries to reinstall it. My iphone won't ler me saying my username or password is incorrect. Help please!?!?

I finally got incoming AND outgoing email to work. To the instructions below from tylermacman
you have to add TURN OFF PRIMARY OUTGOING SMTP SERVER AND TURN ON AT&T SMTP Server.
SO- SETTINGS>Mail,Contacts>Acct>scroll down to SMTP click>Turn Off Primary>Scroll down to Other SMTP Servers AT&T>Click on AT&T>Turn On.
I don't own an iPhone, so I had to borrow one from a co-worker. Please follow these steps:
    1. From your iPhone desktop, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    2. Select your Suddenlink email account and remove it by scrolling down and tapping the Delete Account button.
    3. Tap Add Account and select Other.
    4. Enter the appropriate answer for each box, as follows:
    Name - Your name
Address - Your Suddenlink email address
    Password - Your Suddenlink Password
Description - This is the nickname for the account (for example, Home)
    5. Tap Save to continue.
    6. On the next screen, tap POP.
    7. Scroll down to Incoming Mail Server and enter the following:
    Host name - pop.suddenlink.net
User name - your Suddenlink email address
Password - your Suddenlink Password (if not auto-entered)
    8. Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server and enter the following:
    Host name - smtp.suddenlink.net
Username - your Suddenlink email address
Password - your Suddenlink Password (if not auto-entered)
    9. Tap Save to continue.
    10. Tap Yes for Cannot connect using SSL.
    11. Tap OK to dismiss the POP account verification failed warning.
    12. Tap Save, then Save again to continue.
    13. Tap the account you just created.
    14. Scroll down and tap Advanced.
    15. Scroll down and tap Use SSL to turn it to the OFF position. Note that the Server Port field changes from 995 to 110. The authentication method should already be set to Password.
    16. Tap Home, then Mail, then Settings, then return to the iPhone's Home screen and you should be able to send and receive email on your iPhone using Suddenlink's POP/SMTP, Password-authenticated connection.

  • RH8 Moved Source File - Moved it back and now can't access...Yikes

I was upgraded to Windows 7 and asked to move all my folders/files to a shared drive so IT could wipe my laptop clean, install W7 and then they reinstalled all my software.
I was careful to move files within their folders.  I moved  "My RoboHelp Projects" folder with all my projects to our Shared Drive..
When I moved them back to my Laptop, I am unable to open the robohelp project source folder originally created as an .xpj.  I receive the following error messages, one saying it can not open the .cpd file. When looked at the file extension of the folder it is a .cpd.  How could it change from .xpj to a .cpd????  I'm confused....
Any idea why this happened and how I can recover these projects, other than a kick in the head for moving them????  Thanks!

Just to add to Amebr's reply, when the 802 patch was released it had to be treated as an upgraded version for technical reasons. Before the reinstall of Windows you obviously had that patch installed and equally obviously IT did not apply the patches when they reinstalled RoboHelp. Thus when you open a project it knows it is from the "upgraded" 802 version and tells you just that, it then also says it cannot open the CPD, which is what the XPJ does.
Apply the patches and all should be OK.
