MOVED: X48C - New\Beta BIOS \ FTP

Gday ladies and gents,
I've been MIA for a lil bit...  glad to be back
I've received alot of help with My X48C and we're getting closer and closer to total sweetness....
I am currently using 7.2B1 and for the most part she does ok.  A couple of issues tho:
Legacy USB support seems to be a lil wonky....  every 2nd reboot BIOS tells me I have no Keyboard... I enter BIOS and sometimes it still says enabled....sometimes it switches back to disabled.  No matter which setting I choose the keyboard always works in BIOS post, so I can always get into bios, however I can never use my keyboard until I actually get into windows.  Its a minor inconvenience but this lil glitch prevents me from using the VISTA boot options.  IE I cant get into safe mode or even invoke the boot menu with F8 unless I hook up a wired keyboard.  I use a logitech wireless mouse \ KB combo not sure if its a hardware conflict or something -Asus had issues with Razor mice \ KBs for instance-
The other issue is that damned 1N timing I keep moaning about...  On this BIOS it is intermittant...  sometimes it registers command rate 1 in everest etc... sometimes it doesnt.  Also my timings are a lil unstable.  Unless I specify them manually sometimes I'm 6-6-6-18, 6-6-6-16, 7-7-7-20 or 7-7-7-22.  The previous 7.1 beta bios I received -cant remember the build...but it was on of the later ones before the 7.2 beta- always had command rate 1 functioning but the board would be finiky posting...sometimes taking me 5+ mins to get it off the ground...  but once she posted all was good
Are there any other betas or foolish experimental builds that I could take for a spin...  I love the rapid bios evolutions that this board seems to receive and am always up for further testing!  I'll be sure to be a regular PITA -pain in the @$$- again
Thanks again for all the test builds and wicked support!  You guys rock!   Its good to be back again!

It is not a problem.  The access to the server you are referring to is restricted in the first place.  The password gets changed on a regular basis and it was just changed again recently.  We do not alow that these passwords are posted in the forum.  So please don't ask for it, as any reply that includes the password will be deleted.
What do you need a new BETA BIOS for?  Is there any problem you are trying to fix?

What cpus does this bios support? Just curious if it will do a phenom 9750.
Please start your own new topic instead of bringing up one that's been dead for 5 years.

Edit: No the K9N Platinum does not support AM2+ CPUs of any kind with any BIOS.

  • Z77A-GD65 GAMING Beta BIOS request

Is there any new beta bios for this mobo ?
The latest 25.1B2 is very buggy for me. After ~10-15min System/GPU "heavy" gaming (Crysis 3) the whole PC starts freezing (2 sec. running - 4 sec. total freezing). Moreover this freezing continues after exiting the game and still continue freezing when: "System Windows is shutting down" appears when I try to restart. When I look at task manager it shows 100%-0%-100% cpu spikes in this 2-4sec intervals.
I am 100% sure it is caused by this bios. It started with this bios and after switching to older bios everything runs fine.
So why using this bios? Because it fixes another issue. I tried 3 different 25.x (beta/official) versions and every one of them has issue with "remembering" BIOS fan settings after power loss (or power supply switched off). In spite of that settings are still there after power loss, they have no effect and fans (esp. CPU) run in default state (very noisy). It's enough to enter the bios, save, restart and thats it, but why.
This issue is fixed in 25.1B2.

No newer beta. If you are sure it is a bios issue report it to MSI so they can work on another beta to possibly fix that issue: >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • My motherboard is dead ase to upgrade to the latest beta bios. MSI Z68 GD65 G3

    Good night.
Yesterday update the motherboard BIOS the 23.7 to 25.6 but had problems with overclocking and stability.
Update motherboard bios because with 23.7 mi new graphics card had no video signal.
Today I was recommended to update to a new beta bios, the latest for msi z68 GD65 G3 that could be better.
The process is completed perfectly with the forum tool.
Now comes on but restarts constantly. The second bios will not start either. No lights light and remove the memory but makes no noise.
Clear cmos, remove the battery, ... I have not earned at all.
    Any solutions?

have you done >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed?
have you tried to boot with 1 memory stick only?

  • Where can i find beta bios?

i have K7N2G-LISR and the v1.8 bios would not let my memory to run at CAS2 (it is rated CL2). my pretty sure that v1.0 allowed me, at least it seemed so in the bios. so, where do i go to download beta bios?

I take it will run at SPD. What are the timings? Did you reset the timings after flashing to new BIOS? CPU speed?
What is the least it will run?
Instead of a beta BIOS how about flashing backwards to a known BIOS that will let it run.

  • RS482M4 TV-OUT problems / Better BIOS?

RS482M4-ILD is the board i have
Using on board Video /W the D-SUB connection.
What i have tried is the CD-Driver, MSI's,  Latest Driver and now am using ATI's IPG 5.13 Driver.
However i can not use both TV-OUT and VGA at the same time, anyone have any idea for me?
Also does anyone know of a better BIOS for this board?
Beta or modified it doesnt matter, memory settings are VERY VERY poor, CAS only
And Voltage HTT options at all.
I am using my old RAM on this board, and would like to run it properly, its PC4000 / DDR 500
SO the goal is to run the RAM at a 1:1 ratio.
Dont plan on overclocking so i would be lowering the multiplier (currently the only option i have) to keep the CPU at around stock speed
I will also probly lower the Vcore on this CPU to keep heat low as its in a SFF case.
CPU is a 3200+ that did 2.7GHz in its day

This is a cross-post from another thread discussing the same problem.
It is not documented anywhere in the MSI manual, but the problem is the VGA and TV Out video ports share the same RAMDAC (video channel) and cannot both be active at the same time.  Or if they can (I have a discrete ATI card that allows this), it is not yet supported in the driver.
Thus, the only way you can get TV Out with the VGA port in use is to use *only* TV Out.  You can do this in Catalyst Control Center by dragging the image of the TV or HDTV in the "Displays connected but not in use" list to the "Main Monitor" (CRT) above the list and selecting the only available option, "Swap".  This will enable TV Out and disable your CRT.  Do the reverse to re-enable the CRT & disable the TV Out.  You can I'm sure assign these two configurations to hotkeys (I usually use Ctrl-Alt-F1 for normal, & Ctrl-Alt-F2 for TV Out).
I assume with a DVI monitor plugged in that both the digital flat panel and TV Out could be active at the same time, but I haven't tested this.  I will get a chance to in the coming week though.
If you have an LCD flat panel with both VGA and DVI plugs, try using a DVI cable instead to enable dual displays.  If you don't have one already order from ComputerCableStore.com, which I have found the cheapest anywhere (DVI cables start at under $14 before shipping; the local big box stores sell them for $40-$130(!) in comparison).
Otherwise, you may have to buy a new DVI-capable LCD monitor to enable this functionality.  If you do pay attention to what comes in the box - I just bought a Samsung 19" display for around $300 and it didn't include a DVI cable in the box.  It may or may not make sense to order the cable separately depending on the price difference for models that do or do not include a cable.  If you are not sure if a cable is included with a particular model, see if it is listed on NewEgg.com - their product pages are the best on the web and usually include pictures of the contents of boxes, as well as links directly to the manufacturer's product page which often list detailed specs.

  • MSI 880GMA-35 FX [MS-7641 rev 2.1] - BETA BIOS Request

Hi, there beta bios for this motherboard?

I asked in this section to check for new updates in development. Since I bought this card in bundle with a processor AMD PHENOM X II, I'm having a series of problems:
    - Lack of recognition of the AMD Phenom II x 960T BE (it was declared like supported but i must upgrade bios and clear cmos twice to recognize it successfully)
    - Incompatibility with Samsung Hard Disk 502HJ (i found a incompatibility between SB850 and this HDD that i fix with a firmware update)
    - problem with the Crucial M4 SSD (installation in AHCI mode only)
    - Not being able to individually set the mode of access to individual devices (ide or ahci)
and look forward to some improvement:
    - Unlock function on the core (which is not handled of software UNLOCK CAP as promised on the website of the motherboard where says "This new MSI software tool allows users to unlock CPU cores from Windows with just a few simple clicks, no need to enter the BIOS." )
I hope Msi coul emprove some function in next release and provide the software MSI's UNLOCKCAP with this motherboard.
    (it's the same chip 880)

  • [nForce] K7N2 Delta2 B61 Beta Bios

Anyone have try new b61 bios? I have try a B56 bios but it suck  . For my question, it is better than B30 bios? I read it a lot I other forum and they said it great. How about it temperature? It is low like B30?
Sorry for asking to much because my system is still in RMA

I have tried b5, b6.1, b6.0 and b3.  As you can see from my signature b3 works best for me; it is the only one that allows a change to high performance mode (from optimised) withoou enabling DOT and seems more stable than the others; cpu temp was lower as well, although that may be a bug.
If you do an advanced search with my user name and b3 in text you will see many posts.

  • 865 beta bios with raid 1

you will have to wait for joshin who i gave 875 bios to to put it on his server
but there should be a link here soon thanks to him
afraid i know nothing else re whats fixed in it
just resoponding to those who moaned in the beta 875 thread

I do like to thanks the programming team  of this Bios .
I have noticed  from the first minute , after installing it  , all the necessary voltage corrections , that this Bios includes  , and I totally agree with them .
At my board with 533 Bus based CPU chip , and by working as suggested at the turbo mode , the  AGP bus it is locked . ( In the 3Dmark 2003  ,got lower by a little  marks) .
I would suggest , one also voltage correction on the CPU core voltage , like setting it at 1.58 or 1.60 by default , any way  this is not a critical issue , as the CPU it is forgiving in the voltage hovering , but the rest sub system is not .
As  bug report , I have to say that the clock generator , in the Slow setting , clocks the CPU even higher than the 1.3 and 1.4 Ver bios ,   from 135.5  the new forced bus is like 138 Mhz .
But if the setting Turbo is set  , as the team suggests , everything is normal , like 135.5 Mhz .
With locked AGP , and the rest fixes .
In my system after of many hours testing , I found that this Bios works fantastic , and  there is Zero instability issues  . :D
I do not know if this is the right place to report this , but I have one small issue , with the on board NIC , my report  haves nothing to do with this Bios release .
So , here is the story  ,    in my setup  I have connected the NIC  with one Compex switching Hub  ,  when I power down my system  , the NIC it does not power down completely ,  and the result is that  the  Led  Port indicator  on the Hub,  indicates that the computer is On , or that the connection is active .
To be honest , the  NIC it does power down , but one second later , after the total system  shut down  procedure,  the NIC power up it self  , indicating 100Mbits connection  ..
The on board NIC Led indicator  becomes active,  and accordingly my Switching Hub , indicates  a live connection at 100 Mbits .
Is this normal ?? I guess, is not .  ?(
Is there any tip that I should know , if there is not one , I would like to add this in my wish list , of what it would  be nice to be included in the next official or Beta Bios update .
I would like to say one Big Thanks to the MSI programming Team , I know that they  hiding  around this forum , thanks again people .
I wish you all the best , and ask some extra money for MSI for your overtimes too , you worth it .  8)

In my experience, for a 2700k, UEFI/BIOS v1.H proved to be the very best one.
I would go ahead and use what P D says there, he did a lot of testing on his many builds the past few years and knows more about it that most other people.
What I had in my last reply was just the basic required info you needed to answer question about 2700K support after going through 1/2 dozen lists needed to find my info.
