IF your IOH Temps are INSANELY HOT like mine (up to 110-127 C!!), there might be something wrong with your Heatsink (the giant two-sided one with the copper pipe).  Those plastic pushpins don't seem to hold the heatsink firmly to the two chips (I'm not sure which one is the IOH yet).  Anyway, I tried using pushpins from other boards and using arctic silver thermal paste - no difference.  BIOS 1.1 - no difference.
Finally, I decided to get a little bold and try using some screws to literally screw the heatsink down thru the existing holes into the MB - WARNING do this at your own risk!!  I found some screws that were the diameter of the 4 holes on the heatpipe from the leftover screws that came from my antec case.  I cleaned off the old heatsink material (lots of elbow grease, or rubbing alcohol, q-tips and patience.  I put everything together and now it makes a nice solid contact to the MB.  Be careful not to overtorque - you basically want to fasten it down solid to ensure no movement.
Guess what? The IOH temps are better now !!
CPU 31C
Sys 47C
IOH 86-93C (93 using cooling settings in MSI Overclock tool; 84 using default cooling settings = much improvement from 110-127C!!!)
(If Sys is hotter than IOH, make sure you have the latest version of MSI Overclocking Center program from MSI's website).

If you turn EIST off you should be able to put the multiplier to a specific number between 12 and 21 (or higher if you have an unlocked Extreme CPU) and that is where it will stay.
I believe that is exactly what i did, i disabled EIST, C1E and set multiplier to 21, however, when i run a stability test(Prime95 or Linx) it always drops the multiplier down from 21x to 20x.
It seems to me turbo mode is still working when it is supposed to be disabled when you set multiplier to 21(or maybe it is just simply won't allow x21 multiplier to be used at full load anyway, turbo mode on or off).

Very good point Jack. There you go ravescar & others, give that a try & see if it makes a difference. smile
I experimented a bit with Overspeed Protection enabled and disabled, however i did not notice any difference in this regard, the multiplier still drops to 20 on high load for me.
However this problem do not happen if i set multiplier to 20, it is only the 21 multiplier that have this issue.
    This is on a MSI X58 Eclipse SLI Motherboard + i7 920 D0 stepping + 6gb GSKILL Trident 16000 CL9 RAM.
    Quote
BTW. I've read of a couple of cases where DO stepping 920's getting 22x with Turbo enabled but I'll remain skeptical regarding the validity.
Maybe it is just earlier version of cpu-z mis-reporting multiplier?

  • X58 Eclipse Sli with CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 how to make it run stable in 1600Hz?

    Hello ,
I m new here, so forgive me if i make a mistake somewhere !

    and here is my story:
I have been using TR3X6G1600C9(corsair ver8.1) with XMP enabled so in 1600Hz and everything were going sweet stable pc , then i decided to put something more on it another TR3X6G1600C9(corsair) this time came different ver2.5 with XMP profile off seems work fine , with XMP on blue screen-restart so i asked in corsair forum they show a .pdf from corsair which was saying that mixing modules even with same kind of memory there are posibilities it wont be compatible-work.
Today i just replaced  the 2xTR3X6G1600C9  with CMP12GX3M3A1600C9(corsair) enabled the  XMP profile , everything was looking good all 12gb were working , but after some time i got blue screen and restart :(, so i bet this has to do with options and propably i have to do more than to enable XMP profile in order to make it stable. So any suggetions ? Yes i m totally noob from knowledge in bios only i know is to enable XMP but i m looking forward to learn stuff from ya guys and considering that i might just lost about 230e in order to upgrade ram and i can't make  to work 12gb stable in 1600hz i should of ask much earlier!

  • Two questions re: X58 Eclipse SLI

    Hi all -
two questions regarding my (admittedly older) X58 Eclipse SLI:
1.) When I built the system, I had two IDE DVD devices: one reader and one burner.  I've since replaced the burner with a SATA burner but now I can't get Vista 64 to recognize the reader.  I have the reader setup as 'Master' on the IDE bus and it does get identified when booting the system.  Vista won't see it, though, even with the JMicron drivers installed.
2.) When I bought the board, I also bought an OCZ 1600 DDR3 kit (OCZ model# OCZ3P1600LV6GK).  I FINALLY got the RAM stable at 1333MHz, but I've considered adding more RAM to the system.  Am I likely to experience issues if all the RAM is not matched - especially considering I've had to customize the RAM voltage and timings?
any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated!
    Mike

It may be possibe that a firmware update is available from the device manufacturer that will make the drive compatible with Vista?
Possible, however I doubt that's the issue considering that the drive functioned normally prior to the removal of the 2nd (SLAVE) drive.  To clarify, when both drives were attached to the PATA controller everything worked fine.  When I went to a single drive, the OS no longer recognizes the MASTER device.

  • X58 Eclipse Jmicron Raid

MSI x58 Eclipse SLI  BIOS Version 1.2
    Intel i7 920 2.66
    12 gigs OCZ 1600 OCZ3G1600LV6GK
    2x WD VR 150
    3x WD 750 Caviar Black
    Thermaltake W0116RU 750W PS
    Lite-On 6x Blu-Ray 16x DVD-R iHES206-08
    Thermaltake Speedo VI90001N2Z Case
Building a new system and have been pretty happy so far except I am unable to get into the JMicron raid utility to set up the Raid. The user manual says to press Ctrl-J to enter set up for the Jmicron controller but it does not work. Bios sees the 2 drives and I have their type set as Raid 0 and the Bios reflects that, but during post I am unable to access the Raid controller in order to configure the 2 drives.
The Intel utility is fine. I selected Ctrl-I during post and I was able to select my 3 750 and create the array. I just want to do the same with the 2 WD 150 Raptors. Am I just missing something?
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks

It means i am not having a problem loading the drivers in Windows. It is not a Windows issue. The problem is if you wish it install the OS on a RAID you must set the raid up first then when you install Windows you tell windows what drivers to us with that Raid array.
To summarize i need to know how to get into the Jmicron Raid Controller buring the bios post so i can set up the array.

  • Problem with MSI X58 Platinum SLI - IOH temperature !

    Hi guys.
    I have this PC configuration:
    - MSI X58 Platinum SLI ( Bios Version 3.8 - http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/6707/161020101249.jpg )
    - Intel Core i7 930 2.80 GHz box ( with Intel Turbo Boost running sometimes at 3.06 Ghz )
    - MSI GeForce GT240 1GB DDR5 128-bit HDMI
    - Corsair 6GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 XMS3 Triple Channel Kit ( sets to AUTO and running at 1066 Mhz )
    - Corsair CMPSU-750TXEU
    - Ordinary case ( http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/4200/161020101246.jpg & http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8480/161020101247.jpg ).
    - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
I bought my PC components 2 months ago, so they are new.
    Now, guys I think that is a problem with my motherboard. When I turn on the computer in Bios I have this temps: CPU – 30 C (86 F); IOH – 71 C (159 F); System 30 C (86 F) - http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/394/161020101242.jpg. After 2 minutes the temperatures are: CPU – 34 C (93 F); IOH – 82 C (179 F); System 41 C (105 F) and 2 more minutes later the temperatures are: CPU – 34 C (93 F); IOH – 84 C (183 F); System 43 C (109 F). After 30 minutes of doing nothing I have this temps: CPU – 35 C (95 F); IOH – 85 C (185 F); System 42 C (107 F) -
Guys it is normal with IOH temperature ? I am a little worried about it ( to be honest I am more than “a little” … I am worried a lot ).
Ok, I know I don’t have a good case but in 3 weeks I should receive this Thermaltake Spedo Advance Case (http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1121&ID=1829) and I will buy a new CPU cooler ( I don’t know yet wich one – maybe Corsair CWCH70 or Noctua NH-D14 but I have to see the case first … to be sure there is a plenty of space for those coolers ).
Pls help me with that IOH temperature. It is normal ? What if I intend to make a little OC ( lets say CPU to 3652 Mhz and RAM to 1333 Mhz … but also I will ask for your support ! ) my motherboard will burn ?
If it is necessary I will contact my retailer and send him back the motherboard but … I like MSI a lot.
Thx guys for your support !

    Hey guys,
Here is a nice cheap alternative.
Here is my story about the same issue.  I found it after looking at why my computer freezes sometimes. Not very often but enough for me to do some investigation.   I noticed my IOH temp was a whopping 117 degrees Celsius. lol.  Surprised my mobo didn't burn out by now.  I wanted to evaluate the situation with the heat sink and decided to take it off.  After taking it off I found extremely crusty purple compound on board the chipset and the heatsink.  I took me FOREVER to scrape it off. it was almost like a cement which I found odd.  After scraping and cleaning the surfaces with alcohol, I placed some silver compound on and proceeded to put it back on.
Well, upon hooking everything back up I was still at 95 to 103 degs.   Now I started to really look at the options to replace this.  I had SLI config which means I had to do something clever with the southbridge as well.  A nice thermaltake chipset solution w/fan and a low profile copper southbridge with shipping was about 45 bucks.  Hmm ... This is a sure fix from the threads I have read and its really kid of expensive to fix a simple defect. the problem is not necessarily with the heatsink not being sufficient.  Its the combo of the compound used vs the amount of pressure applied between the heatsink and chipset.  It was completely unacceptable.  I knew this right away when I was watching the temp and then I would press on the top of the IOH heatsink and I would watch it drop another 15 degrees in less then 10 seconds. The springs are extremely weak and not effective at all in transferring the heat from the NB.
Here if my fix.  Cost me less than a dollar at the hardware store and it works ideal thus far.  Do this at your own risk.  Doing this will probably void any warranty too.   All my problems are solved and I am running at 57 degrees, YES, 57 degrees with the stock heatsink and no additional cooling.
For one scrape all that old crap off like I did. Apply your new compound. But when you go to replace your heatsink, use the following method.  The trick is to use metal screws with a mobo washer, original springs from the plastic studs and a nylon locknut.  Use screws that are the same diameter and length (maybe a tad bit longer) as the plastic retainer studs.  Also grab a few of those red nylon mobo washers too, were gonna need them as well.
After scraping and applying compound, reassemble as follows.  Screw with washer inserted into the back of the mobo so the threads are out front.  The plastic/nylon washer is betweeen the screwhead and the back of the mobo as a insulator. Put the heatsink on. With the threads thru the heatsink already, put the springs on and start spinning on the locknut.  I torqued the nut down on the spring until the spring almost became fully compressed.  The purpose of the spring here is really to prevent you breaking something and at the same time using the max force of the spring since it weak to begin with. Thats why we need to compress it down pretty much all the way. There will be little to no room in the spring at this point.  The heatsink at this point should be pretty solid to the board as well.  I noticed with the plastic studs before the heatsink would wobble if you gave it a little rocking back and forth before.  Not this time. Shouldn't move much if at all.  Remember not to torque down too much. You don't want to go beyond the springs compression. Even if you did by accident, its better then not using a spring at all. If you feel that it starts to feel tight when torquing, you torqued too far. Stop an backup a 1/4 turn or so.  It is also very important to make sure both torques are equal on both sides as well. Alternate sides when torquing down.  I could tell by how much thread I had left on both sides and by looking for any uneven sides.
To summarize, the compound is a problem no doubt.  After you resolve the compound issue, its all about the adequate pressure between the heatsink and the IOH.  Much like the amount of pressure needed between your CPU and your heatsink give or take. And the pressure that would be as an aftermarket solution like the thermaltake chipset cooler. You dont see cheesy springs on that.  Wake up MSI. Simpy using a more effective spring could save MSI some cash in the long run. I envision a leafsprin design like the thermaltake chipset one.  The heatsink design could be better, sure, but the design itself is not the problem. Replace the heatsinks if you would like to, if your overclocking and stuff.  Funny, this board I have is a refurb too and only had it for a few weeks. Figured they would have done something about it.
Sorry the pics are not the best. Here is about as close as I could get to the finished product

  • Settings for OCZ3OB1600LV6GK on MSI Eclipse SLI (X58) and i7 @ 920??

    Hello everybody!
Could anyone suggest me the right settings for the RAM (at 1600MHz), in order to pass memtest (in windows) wih no errors?
I've managed to setup the RAM at 1333 MHz without errors at all and my sytem stable. All the Dimms have been examined one by one and found healthy (via memtest in & out of windows). Thank you in advance!
    Here are my computer specs:

    WD2500AAKS
    Corsair HX620W Modular Power Supply

    Henry thank u for answering!
First image settings (in bios): 9-9-9-24 (1T), Memory Ratio 1333Mhz - Uncore Ratio 2666Mhz, DRAM Voltage -Auto (1.50V), Spead Spectrum Disasbled. PASSES MEMTEST
Second image settings (in Bios): 9-9-9-24 (1T), Memory Ratio 1600Mhz - Uncore Ratio 3200Mhz, DRAM Voltage 1.65V, Spead Spectrum Disasbled. FAILS MEMTEST
I have tried a lot of different timings to stabilize at 1600Mhz but no luck  I tried also to icrease the QPI Voltage at 1.35V (as i was suggested by a friend) but i can't read anywhere the default voltage in order to increase it
The CPU-Z SPD tab 1st and 2nd image shows some sets of timings which are the same. They differ a lot than the manufacturer's settings (9-9-9-24 1.65v). Which of these should i use? Could you help me a little by being more specific?

  • Random restarts with Eclipse SLI board

This is a copy from my post on the Vista forums havent gotten much help there.
    Describe the problem in detail!
I just built a new system on December 22nd 2008. I do Tier 2 and 3 Helpdesk work so I can work my way around a system. I put the machine together installed Vista did all the updates got all the newest drivers. Basically since I have built the Machine it will just randomly restart. It will not display a BSOD, I have auto restart turned off, and it does not create an event in the event viewer. It is almost like someone touched the reset button.
    When did the problem start?
December 22nd 2008 the day I built the machine.
What have you tried to fix it?
Tried several different BIOS setups. I have upgraed the bios, did all the windows updates, got all the newest drivers for video, audio, lan etc etc. Removed MSI Live Monitor, disabled green power in Bios, and removed overclocking center. Went through event viewer and corrected three of the four errors that was showing up. One error is the Kerebos one and I am not worried about that one.  I have just run both Memtest86 and Memtest86+ and both of them stop responding about half way through the test.
What is the error message (of any)?
I have Vista set to not auto restart so I should see a BSOD but I get no message. I have had 4 restarts just today and none of them created a new MEMORY.DMP file or any type of event in the viewer.
I do get warnings about something called FLASH.SYS but I cannot seem to track down what this is.
What was the last thing you did before the problem started?
    Built the machine.
    What are your system specs?
    Vista 64
    MSI Eclipse SLI X58
12 Gigs Crucial ram matched to the MoBo using the crucial matching system on the crucial website. The MoBo supports up to 24 and I am using Vista 64bit.
Antec P190 Case (Dual power supplies for a total of 1.2 KW of power)
    Intel Core I7 2.66
Creative Extreme Gamer Edition PCI E sound card
    Mcaffee
    BFG 260 GTX
Coolmaster V8 cooler (CPU under stress runs about 70f well below the max of 208f)
    Do you have a screenshot?
    Nope
My next step is to take out 6 gigs of RAM and see if the issue goes away.
    Any suggestions?

Test one memory module only and see what happens.  If things seem fine, add one more module and test again (and so on).

  • MSI Eclipse Sli and Asus 6950 Direct CU II problem

I’ve recently bought the Asus 6950 Direct CU II 2GB. After I installed it a weird buzzing sound started coming from around the area, where the big heat sink below the cpu socket sits. That only happened when the graphics card was on high profile and particularly when I was in any game.
About a month later my card stopped working properly so thinking it was its fault I used the warranty and got it replaced. However with the new card the system won’t even start. My monitor goes from “Please check signal cable” to “No signal” and apparently the system is not even moving past the bios checks.
The weird think is that when I use my old card (MSI R4870 1GB) the system seems to work properly!!! I tried the 6950 in two different systems and it seems to be working….
I’ve tried resetting the bios removing other devises to test the power supply etc., but nothing works, I can only think that something is wrong with the motherboard.
Any ideas on what might be wrong???
    My system is:
    MB: MSI Eclipse Sli
    CPU: Core I7 920
PSU: TAGAN TG700-U88 PIPEROCK SERIES 700W
    RAM: 3 x CORSAIR TR3X6G1600C9 Triple DDR3
HDD: WD Velociraptor 150GB for the OS

Thanks for the timely reply HU16E.
I don't have another psu available right now but I will in 3 days so I will try that.
On the other hand I have mine working as a single rail from the day I bought it (turbo mode switch on the psu), but i am not sure how this can be connected.
Also while I was playing around with the system it started up, only once, with the 6950, and that happened with everything connected so I still can't figure what the hell is happening!!!! I am thinking that something on the pcie port is wrong so i tried on the other ports too, yet nothing happened.
I am still leaning towards the motherboard but any other ideas would be welcomed.

  • PC shuts down or reboots spontaneously (MSI Eclipse SLI)

    My original post:

I get this same situation.. except the event viewer doesnt state anything.
The system is not bluescreening.. it just hardware powers down and reboots.
I get the same message as the original poster as well, it is very annoying as it often happens in the middle of doing something.
I wonder if it could be thermal related to the high IOH temps on the board (often 80-85C, but not sure what happens to them in the middle of playing a game)? Is there any way to log the temperatures to a file so I can check what they were at the time of the crash?
I get this issue whether I change the default bios settings or not. Ive got a 920 on my eclipse board, my CPU temps are below 30C under load. System temp is about 27C.
    What can I do?
    The following replies:

That's way too high, even for 100% load.  Reinstall the heatsink.
Quote from: Smoke on 05-April-09, 20:46:53
It is? I found another thread on this forum where it was mentioned that intel and msi said the IOH runs hot and to expect temps up to 100C. How do I go about changing the manufacturers heatsink on a board? Ive never done that before and cant find any procedural help thru google...
Ive been able to replicate the issue by running ram up to high usage. When I get above 98% ram allocation, I spontaneously reboot. So It could be a ram issue as well. Of would that be something possible IOH related as well?

    smoke,
Can you list out your full system spec and PSU spec?
    System Spec:
    Core i7 920 w/ TRUE 120
    MSI eclipse SLI (bios 1.4)
    6x 1gb corsair 1866mhz rated ram sticks (TR3X3G1866C9DF)
    1500w thermaltake psu
galaxy gtx295 in the primary x16 pci-e slot
MSI eclipse soundcard in the 1st pci-e x1 slot
    4x 1tb samsung 'UJ' hdd (raid 5)
O/S (= old winxp 32 bit until I get hold of a 64 bit os) running on 128gb PQI SSD
    lg bluray burner
All the drives are sata2 and running on the ICHIOR ports.
For bios settings Ive got the optimised defaults with spread spectrum off and turbo boost on. Once its table then I will OC, but for now its not stable at the baseline yet.
    Temp info:
IOH temps are as I said, around 80 at startup but rise to at least 87 under load, but not really much further that Ive seen.
CPU temps are very low with the dual-fan TRUE 120 heatsink. I havet seen it go above 35C with a reasonably heavy processing load. Usually sits about 0-2C above ambient at most when idle.
System temps get to about 40 under load, or around 27-35 under regular usage, but Im not quite sure what thats measuring the temp of on the board.
The issue is very frustrating but somewhat intermittent - I can go two days without a crash but then get several in a row. I wasnt previously paying attention to my usage at the time tho so I dont remember what I was doing when it crashed that I wasnt doing when it was fine. I have been able to replicate the crash/reboot/shutdown symptom by running multiple memory intensive apps and loading the ram up to just on the 2.99gb mark (the most winxp 32 bit will 'see') and it goes down. No blue screen though.. its a hardware issue not software I am pretty sure.
[edit] Updated the ram part number to be correct.

ok, should I label this possibly as solved?
I followed MSI's advice and checked through on drivers. Ive got totally up to date drivers, but nvidia just put out a .5  driver update (i mean, its increased the driver version by .50) and so I updated to that. I still got a sft reboot on testing, so no real joy.
THEN, I did the big change MSI asked me to do - Ive successfully brought my system up to bios 1.5B3 and pow, massive improvements all round!
Intelburntest runs perfectly now, no crash, no reboot, no errors of any kind. All residuals match. No memory errors. Memtest86 2.11 runs smooth as silk without errors either. PCmark runs out a basic benchmark of almost 19000 (about 3000, or 18.75%, more than the std core i7 920 benchmark without OC'ing) and looks great. Couldnt get that to run previously either.
The previous methods which 100% of the time would replicate the soft reboot of the system now no longer do so at all (i.e. 0% of the time yet) and for that matter I have not been able to get the box to fall over AT ALL since the new bios.
I have the same temps on cpu/ioh/system as I did previously. I recall for the same clock speed the cpu was putting out something well under 20 gigaflops... now its a solid 28. I didnt even realise that was a symptom of anything wrong, else the bios does some amazing extras.
I should note, Im only now using the 'optimised defaults' setting thru the bios. No overclock at all yet.
I'd love to know what MSI changed from 1.4 to 1.5B3, but whatever it was.. it does appear to have solved my issues. I wont say that conclusively just yet, but I cant bring the system to a crash no matter what I try now where it was rather easy to blow it over with a quiet whistle before.
Other things Ive noted is that the page file now seems to be actively utilised. Ive pushed it at load up to almost 3gb where before the bios update I was struggling to see 400mb used. Not sure if that was part of it, but if you get simiar issues go straight to MSI and see about getting hold of the 1.5B3 bios or later.
To quickly address the recent replies:
    1) Ive got to agree with HU16E with my ram. I have no trouble running at the 1333 JDEC spec. And I feel very positive about now being able to achieve the XMP spec with this new bios.
    2) Thanks for the link Aaron. I did end up using the USB flash method from this forum. Worked perfectly. Chalk up another success story!
    3) I did try to swap out the ssd last night, but the system kept soft rebooting while installing the OS on the spin drive. SO I gave up. Seems the ssd isnt a drawback under the new bios tho (assuming it even was a cause earlier).
    4) Ive DL'ed the x64 windows 7 beta and I'll likely as not have a shot installing that and refitting the extra 3gb ram back into the system. I'll let you know how it goes. Theoretically 6x1gb sticks should be as much as 15-20% faster than 3x 2gb sticks (and were about that much cheaper for me at time of purchase) but I'll run some benchmarks now that the benchmarks work and let you know the differences in case anyone wants to build their box the same way.
    Conclusion:
I'll stress the system over a bit for the next few days without overclocking and I'll see if I can bring the system to reboot like it did previously through high usage, and if I cant I'll change the thread to solved and write out a proper solution post for the problem, symptoms and solution.
Id like to take the opportunity to say thanks to all the guys who've given me help and advice. Youve all been really great. Thanks a bundle! I owe you one

  • MOVED: X58 MS-7522 V3.1 Motherboard Failure

This topic has been moved to MSI Intel boards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=253275.0

Without vga or ram there is no way the board could possibly startup. Try any vga and a single stick of ram. Suggest to try it outside case on a non-conductive surface with an alternate psu.
For replacement socket 1366 boards are long out of production and are rarely still for sale. the following MSI boards would be most similar: X58A-GD45, X58A-GD65, X58 Pro(-E) (USB3), X58 Platinum (SLI). Still any 1366 board would do. Considering the prices though it might be not very clever to just buy a board to backup data when a new system is planned.

  • Eclipse SLI CPU fan always on max

Hello i got a problem with my Eclipse SLI. It's look like the CPU smart fan function don't work and the CPU fan is on max all the time.
    My bios temp's goes from 32-40 C. I have used a lot of different bios versions. 1.4 - 1.7 - 1.9 - 1.a none of those could fix it.
    Eclipse SLI
    Intel i7 920 - standard clock
hope anyone got a good answer to my question. thx

They have a switch for "always maximum cooling" and "temperature controlled speed". Check your CPU fan - it may help to read the CPU installation instructions as they show where the switch is. I would guess that you have it in the wrong position, so your BIOS can't do anything...

  • Eclipse Sli, Leds on, No boot

    Hi everybody,
I bought two days ago an Msi Eclipse for my new computer :
Mobo : Msi Eclipse Sli X58
    Proc : I7 965 Extreme / Noctua NH-12 SE2
    Ram : 3 * 2 Go Kingston Hyper X 1600Mhz
    GC : ATI HD 4890 Vapor X
    Power s. : Silencer 520 W
    HD : Samsung SpinPoint 750 * 2 + 500 * 1
    The problem :
When i switch on my PC leds are on and all fans work, but no signal on screen and Dled2 Off.
    What i Tried :
    Ram :
      No ram
      Only one
      Corsair TwinX 1600
    GC :
      No GC
    Fan :
      All tower fans off
Nothing appened and the problem is still the same.
    Regards,
    Sky

    Ok ,
So i successed :D and i'm still alive lol
I think it will be a little bit long to explain what i done in details so i resume :
I put the mobo on a table and used an air cleaner first.
Second, I put on the mobo only the cpu and the cpu fan, I made as you suggest me, clear cmos : the Dled2 worked but blocked on the DRAM.
Finaly I put the DDR3 only one slot and it didn't work , the post was still bloqued on the dram. I tried with an other old one , still bloqued, i put the three slots of the new one, it worked...
I don't know where was the real problem but if it can helps someone
    Regards,
    Sky

  • MSI X58 Platinum SLI how get beyond Intel Matrix Storage v 8.5.0.1030 Option Rom

I would like to know if I can get beyond Intel Matrix Storage v 8.5.0.1030 Option Rom
I am also running a X58 Platinum SLI Bios v3.90

The Intel Matrix Storage Manager Option ROM is pretty much a more or less independent BIOS Module.  It would be MSI's job (the job of MSI's BIOS Engineers) to provide an official BIOS Version that includes an updated version of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Option ROM Module.
Alternatively, it is possible to exchange that particular module via a relatively simple BIOS Modification (given, that one has a copy of v8.5.0.1013).
Follow NovJoe's suggestion to contact MSI first.  If they (for some reason) have second thoughts regarding an Intel Matrix Storage Manager Option ROM Update, we could consider the option of modding a BIOS for you.
