sounds like a bad motherboard, trying different kind/brand of RAM would help. also, I am assuming the CPU fan is firmly plugged in in "CPU fan header" on the board, right? is there 1 or 2 of those? try one RAM stick in all slots one at a time, then same with other stick. if all that fails, i would think it's a mobo.

    GSkill oh dear.
Use 1 RAM stick with GPUs of your choice. I am not just sure if 295X2 should be mixed with 290x.

  • Z87-GD65 won´t boot.

When I press the power button on the MB, the mainboard lights up (A Bios light), and fans start spinning, this happens for a split second, then it just dies.
This is what I have done:
    1. Disconnected every cable and visually checked motherboard and connections.
    2. Tried the motherboard outside the chassis.
    3. Relocated the memories. (Single and double)
    4. Tried with an old PSU, and the new in my old computer. New one works.
    5. Removed the CMOS battery and replaced it.
    6. Shifted the RESET and ON/OFF button.
    7. Removed the graphics card.
    8. Removed the CPU and cooler and checked them visually.  All pins are intact.
    9. On-board display does not show any codes.
Any ideas?  Board is still under warranty but I am hoping I don't have to wait that long to be up and running again.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

  • Z87-GD65 fails to boot when I enable X.M.P.

Guys, Looking for any advise out there.  I have two systems with new Z87-GD65 with an Intel 4770K and 16GB ADATA RAM and one of the systems fails to boot whenever I enable X.M.P.  I've switched out the RAM from one system to the other and everything is fine on one and same thing on the other.  I've tried clearing out the CMOS and booting from both sets of bios.  I have OC turned off.  Everything is fine until I enable X.M.P.  I'm at a loss any ideas?

  • Z87-GD65 won't Overclock

Got My Z87-GD65 back from RMA.When i try to set my 4770k to 4.2ghz in bios its reverts to 39 only.I have flash to latest bios and still same thing. It wont let me overclock at all.I switched to bios B,and still locked at 3.9ghz.Even OC Genie won't overclock it.Did i get a worst board than the one i RMA'd.The one i sent in had a bricked bios A,but B still worked.Even my ram i set the xmp profile to 2400,but only does 1600.

  • MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Motherboard Booting Windows 7 Trouble

Hi guys, today I bought the MSI Z87-GD65 Mobo, 2 Sticks of 4GB RAM and the Intel i7 4770. I bought these to upgrade my old system and the only other parts im using is my Nvidia GTX570, PSU and my 2TB Seagate HDD.
Everything hardware works normal, no abnormal signs.
My problem is when it boots up, it says "find --set-root --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd /win7ldr. Error 15: File not found"
I've tried using my windows 7 disc and it says all my stuff is still there and the startup troubleshooter doesn't find any issues. I tried putting my RAM in properly and its in nicely. (they are in the 3rd and 4th slot though) My power is fine, its just the BIOS isn't booting it =(
    -The BIOS is updated
    -No Hardware faults
Note: when i press any key to continue, it comes up with GRUB4DOS and has options like: "Windows 7 with SLIC Loader (Default)"
Please help me if you know anything!

Its a fresh install of Windows 7, i had to do it to fix my original problem =/
Update: I changed the RAM and put them in the slots u suggested, no change.
Sorry, when i post my last anser, i didnt know your new problem
Sounds like old problem from time of XP to Vista.
Firsth. Take out that USB connection of your headset from PC.
Secend. Uninstall any driver that headset (or you) may have installed to your OS.
    Third. Run registercleaner program.
Fourth. Shotdown PC and then start again (dont just reboot!)
Fifth. Download and/or Install drivers for that USB headset.
    Sixth. Reboot that PC.
    Seventh. Insert that USB connection.
I hope this helps! Cheers, Mummy
If not i would try to ubdate intel chipset drivers(if MSI ones dont work, i would go to Intel site and try them from there) and if those dont help then another reinstall of OS and member to inser USB device after installing drivers for the device.

  • P55-GD65 won't boot with OC Genie activated

I have an P55-GD65 mobo that runs just fine with no problems except when I tried to activate the OC Genie. When I pressed the button and then tried to boot the machine -- it would begin the boot process then reboot over and over again without actually completing the boot process. When I pressed the OC Genie button again to deactivate it -- the machine booted just fine.
I've got Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed.
What is my problem and how do I fix it so the OC Genie works?
    Thanks,
    Crockett

What is your current BIOS Version?

What memory frequency, timings and Comman Rate does the BIOS set when everything is set to default (check with CPU-Z)?
The BIOS has a tendency to automatically set the Command Rate to 1T instead of 2T which causes stability problems in many cases.

If the RAM is running at 1600MHz the OC Genie won't work properly.
There is a flip site to this kind of observation:  The CPU does not natively support DDR3-1600 and most modules sold as DDR3-1600 are actually just factory overclocked DDR3-1333 modules that require higher than standard voltages settings to have a chance to run stable.  This in itself already is an inherently tricky situation that does not get better when you enable the OC Genie.

  • Z87-G43 won't boot from Windows 8.1 64-bit DVD UEFI

    Hello,
I recently purchased a Z87-G43. I have just updated it to the 1.7 firmware (I was having no end of strange issues with the 1.6 firmware that came on the board, the BIOS menu items would disappear, but that seems to have been resolved with the update to 1.7).
Regardless, I am unable to boot from a 64-bit Windows 8.1 DVD in UEFI mode. The disc will boot fine in UEFI+Legacy mode, but I would like to use only UEFI mode if possible.
I have verified that the system will boot from a UEFI CD by using the GParted live CD.
Is this a known issue with this mainboard?
    Board: Z87-G43
    Bios: 1.7
    VGA: MSI R7 260X
PSU: Powerman 500W (don't know the rails at the moment)
    CPU: Intel Core-i5 4670
    MEM: Corsair 1333 2x8 GB CMV16GX3M2A1333C9
HDD: Kingston SSD 120 GB, WD Green 2 TB
    OS: None

Set the board to Legacy & UEFI
It should work then. If you are trying to do a UEFI installation, with SOME Optical devices it wont work. I usualy transfer all of the install files to  USB stick along with the most recent drivers. The install is faster and drivers are already there for you.

  • Z77A-GD65 - Won't boot

    Hi all,
I'm trying to boot my pc but for some reason doesn't work.
    Board: MSI Z77A-GD65 ver. 2.1
Bios: ? (I do not know because I never get into the bios)
VGA:   XFX ATI HD 5770 1Gb (tested with and without)
    PSU:   Corsair GS600 (CMPSU-600G)
    Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7-3770K 3.5Ghz 8MB LGA1155 BX80637I73770K (tested and ok)
    MEM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10  (tested with and without)
HDD: 2x Western WD10EARS 1TB Green (tested with and without)
COOLER: Cooler master V6 GT and intel stock cooler (tested both)
    OC: none
    OS: none
When I turn on my pc, LED1 lights up and after 5 secs restarts. When is restarting, two another leds blinks, one near multi-bios swtich and the other near JFP1.
No code appear on the debug display.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    >>Posting Guide<<
please give a more detailed list of parts your using in your machine as what you post is always the only thing we have to base any reply on as we do not have your actual machine to see what is there!
1: possibly bad or incompatible memory so what memory you using?
2: what PSU do you have as it may just be that there isn't enougth power to fuel the machine (give us the +12V rail/s rating/s)?
3: have you connected the 8pin CPU power header and is it fully seated?
4: have you tried the board outside of your case on a non conductive surface?
5: have you checked the CPU socket to see if any of the small connection pins are bent with a bright light and a magnifier as thats a common problem?

Open http://www.speedtest.net/ site from Internet explorer [Not with other browsers]
and let flash player to install
the flash player version must be for Internet explorer, not for other browsers.
then killer manager will able to perform the tests

First, try the network driver here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=174229.0
I installed this via Device Manage > Update Driver > Browse Computer For Folder > Killer E220x/Win 7(I'm assuming it's backwards compatible with Vista 32bit)
It says it's installed, but it gave me Error Code 39.

    thanks for your comment ...
BIOS updating is a necessary thing as MSI does not support my GPU on its mainstream BIOS updates.
as it happens, another member of the forum told me that these BIOS updates were actually supported by MSI:

    ABOUT the broken pin ..
well, if this motherboard worked as it was supposed to - there would be no need to spend days trying to troubleshoot it
in short, I would say **avoid** MSI like to plague

I had the exact same symptoms and managed to fix this issue by resetting the BIOS.
If you're not afraid of taking a screwdriver to your laptop, do the following:
    - unscrew the bottom plate
    - find the battery, in my case it was covered in blue plastic
    - pull the wire that's attached to it, from its connector on the motherboard
    - after a minute, plug it back in
The above worked for me, I hope it helps someone else as well.
