Movement 531 in COGI

Hi,
In BOM we maintain by-product with –ve quantity.
After confirming production order with CO11N, I can see one of material stuck in COGI with movement 531 but –ve quantity (eg: 15.5-). As per my knowledge system never move material to COGI with –ve quantity.
I tried number of scenarios with CO11N but didn’t able to move material in COGI with –ve value.
My question is how it happen? Can anyone suggest procedure/way to simulate this scenario?
Regards,

Hi,
For additional information, I already checked SAP note 126346, which says:
In general symptom (error M7192) can occur if changes are made on the component overview.
I tried by doing changes in component overview also tried in verious other ways but no success.
Please suggest.

1.Individual Entry General tab -->put tick mark Godds Movement & Terminate for In correct goods Movement.
You can also configure an error, warning, or no check in general validity setting tab for over delivery and under delivery.

  • Goods movements in cogi

    HI,
I have created my own z module as similar to COR6N using bapi_procordconf_create_tt.
I have to stop all the possible cases when goods movement are being posted in COGI.
can any one suggest me the conditions , when goods movements are posted in cogi ?

    Hi,
    thanx 4 d reply
but actually wat I need was that how can stop the goods movement to move in the cogi.
or you can say that I want a check on this bapi such that goods movemnt are not posted in cogi
whereas can anyone suggest , how can I identify that the goods movement which have been done by this bapi FM have moved to COGI
and what is the use of post wrong entry in it.
and is it possible that the goods movement have been posted in cogi and detail_return doesn't show the message.

  • Error in Goods Movement during order confirmation

    Hi,
I am trying to confirm a production order through CO11n,but i am getting an error in Goods Movement .
The following message is displayed in the log -  "* Posting only possible in /11 anperiods 2008d 2008/10 in company code A100*".  Can any one guide me what should i do to confirm the order without any error in Goods Movement,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
It is advisable to correct the Goods Movement Errors in COGI in the same period (before closing the period by MM in MMPV). You cannot correct the same if the period is closed.
Only option is you need to open the closed period in consulatation with FI and MM team members
    OR
Delete the Error movement records in COGI and post the Goods Issue for the production order in Tcode : MB1A with movt type 261 and go inside and mention the materials which you want to issue to the order.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Production Order : COGI Clarifications

    Hi Team,
I am having some clarifications on COGI transaction processing.
    1. Is the production order can be settled (production order settlement) if the error exists in COGI against the production order?
    2. Sometimes, user deletes the entry in the COGI instead of re-processing. I think the entry in the COGI should not be deleted for any reason. Am i right?
    3. How to restrict the user to NOT to delete the entry in the COGI? Is it through authorization?
    4. I am understanding that due to the below reasons, the entry will be in COGI against the production order. Apart from these reasons, do we have any other reason?
    A. During order confirmation (CO15), if the storage location is not available for the backflush items, it will be posted to COGI
    B. During order confirmation (CO15), if the stock is not available for the backflush items, it will be posted to COGI
    5. Assume that, i have restricted the "Over Delivery" for my production order type. And my production order quantity is 5. I am trying the confirm 6 quantity. I am getting the error that "Over Delivery not permitted". Will this case also be posted to COGI?
    6. During order confirmation (CO15), if the storage location is not available for the good receipt item (ie, 101 movement type item), will this case be posted to COGI?
    Thanks

    Hi Selva,
    1. Is the production order can be settled (production order settlement) if the error exists in COGI against the production order?
Yes you can settle the order if order status is CNF or DLV or TECO even with error's in COGI, but  the accounting will not be correct if you have COGI errors.
    2. Sometimes, user deletes the entry in the COGI instead of re-processing. I think the entry in the COGI should not be deleted for any reason. Am i right?
Yes you are right. COGI error should not be deleted.
    3. How to restrict the user to NOT to delete the entry in the COGI? Is it through authorization?
Check the authorization object C_AFFW_TWK CIM and C_AFKO_ATY CIM
    4. I am understanding that due to the below reasons, the entry will be in COGI against the production order. Apart from these reasons, do we have any other reason?
    A. During order confirmation (CO15), if the storage location is not available for the backflush items, it will be posted to COGI
    Yes
    B. During order confirmation (CO15), if the stock is not available for the backflush items, it will be posted to COGI
    Yes
    5. Assume that, i have restricted the "Over Delivery" for my production order type. And my production order quantity is 5. I am trying the confirm 6 quantity. I am getting the error that "Over Delivery not permitted". Will this case also be posted to COGI?
No. System will restrict to post the entry
    6. During order confirmation (CO15), if the storage location is not available for the good receipt item (ie, 101 movement type item), will this case be posted to COGI?
Yes it will post to COGI.
Good practise is before doing settlement - month-end first activity is to clear all the COGI errors and do settlement. Posting dates also is another reason for COGI errors.
Best way is to fail the trasaction in confirmation for any error records through OPK4 config. Under Individual entry screen - Error Handling - Select Goods movement and Terminate for incorrect goods movements.
    Read COGI-Error and Impact
Many threads from your end are still open. Try to close if you got anwers.

  • COGI and MF47

    Dear all,
In COGI and MF47 we can see the materials that are not posted in the transaction.
In COGI we will be able to see the reasons for the  posting not happened.
But how to find the reason in MF47 .
    Please explain

    Dear SAP125,
If my understanding is correct, I guess the system records the reason for the failed goods movements only in COGI and not in
    MF47.
But as per the REM profile settings the post processing records are created or included only if the error correction in dialog mode
is kept optional. So if there any deficit of stock those materials and respective quantity get's accumulated in MF47 and also in COGI
(as per the REM profile if it's included for also create individual post processing record).

  • Value restriction in COGI

    Hi all,
We want to restrict user by specifying certain limit for value of transactions carried outin COGI FOr example up to Rs 20000. how to restrict user by allowing goods movement with errors by value of transaction?
    Regards,
    Milind.

    Hi all,
COGI restriction issue is solved through user exit. But now i have queroies regarding configuration settings required to enable COGI in plant.I have came up with following observation:
    01. In order confirmation parameters OPK4 if i remove tick from goods movement & Error handling, COGI is set.i.e. System doesn't restrict at the time of confirmation despite material shortage.
How can i use COGI facility without any configuration changes to order type?
If i don't change configuration in order type & tries with user status, It seems that configuration settings overrides User settings as confirmation is  allowed even with user status restricting it.
    Any clue?
    Regards,
    Milind.

  • Problems with goods movements cancelling network confirmations

    Hello experts,
I'm having some problems with goods movement when cancelling network confirmations.
I assign a component for a operation in the project builder (CJ20N). Then when I execute a confirmation for that operation in CN25 everything works correctly, I can assign the time for the confirmation and SAP automatically carries the component assigned to the operation. Once I have done the confirmation the goods movements and the hours have a correct account assignment.
The problem is that if I cancel this confirmation, the hours are correctly cancelled but the component is still there. If I try to cancel the goods movement with MIGO it is no possible because the system says that must be cancelled with the corresponding transaction (CN29) but, as I have said, the system does not cancel it.
On the other hand, If the goods movement goes to COGI transaction and then I post-process the error, If later I cancel the confirmation, everything works correctly.
Does anybody know why this could happen?
    Thanks and regards
    Laura

    Hi
I think this question was raised earlier also. The best way is to allot a fixed time slot for your users so as to avoid clash. I suppose i explained that the master data of any material is stored at one place only and if you schedule a background job for this then all your good movement transaction will be in que and performed in orderly manner.
If automatic posting is not possible then use the time slot method.

  • Group two movement types

    Hello,
I would like create a new movement type 971 which group two movement type :
    - movement type 531 and
    - movement type 541
It is possible ? How to do that ?
Thanks for your help. Best regards.

    hi ,
It is not possible to combine two movement into  one
    1. Movement 531 - is for By product
At the time of production confirmation, the by-product that is produced gets transferred to the respective location. In this case the SCRAP, the goods movement takes place with the movement type ‘531 – Receipt of by-product into unrestricted use.
    2. Movement 541 -   is for sending the material to the subcontracting end.

  • MB1C-531 getting Posted without order reference

    Dear Gurus,
I have a by-product defined in the production order with negative sign.
When i receive the by-product in MB1C with mov 531 System is not asking the order reference.
Is there any setting required to solve this issue.
System should not allow the 531 posting without the order reference.

    Dear sapuser,
Dont do manuall GR for Byproduct, when u do the MB1A to order, with 531 mov type GR happens automaticaly for order. to do this follow the below method.
    1. go to MB1A, give mov type 261, plant and st. location click on order.
    2. when u click on order one small pop up window opens" Reference order"
Here give ur order no. after this st. Loc filed , after this there are two small boxes one for special stock second box is for Biproduct in this put 1 and at the bottom click on adopt details.
It proposes all 261 and 531 mov type materials then save it.
    Test it and come back

  • Complex Formula

I need to create a formula for this requirement:
Business Warehouse ABC Analysis report will be designed to rate and rank each material within the total inventory of one Plant with an ABC Indicator value. The process is as follows:
    1. Materials are sorted highest to lowest based on number of material movements in the period.
    2. The total value of the movements is calculated for each material by applying the standard cost to the quantity of movements = Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
    3. The cumulative percentage of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is calculated, moving from highest to lowest movements.
    4. An ABC Indicator is assigned to each material based on its position in the cumulative COGS using the selected u201CAnalysis Strategyu201D. For example:
    u2022 less than or equal to 70% = A
u2022 greater than 70% but less than or equal to 90% = B
    u2022 greater than 90% up to 100% =C.
    5. ABC Indicator u201CDu201D is assigned to materials with both no movements and zero COGS.
    6. ABC Indicator u201CNu201D (new) is assigned only to u201CCu201D or u201CDu201D items for which material masters were created within a specified number of months prior to the date of the ABC Analysis.
    Please advise

    1. I'm guessing you can sort by Movement Amount (descending).
    2. COGS * Movement Amount
    3. RunningSum(Percentage([COGS * Movement Amount]))
    4. Create an alerter based on 3. <=.7 = A, <=.9 = B else C
    5. Create a variable to evaluate this condition and insert the variable or create an alerter based on it.
    6. As above, using RelativeDate() as the basis for your formula.
I can't be any more exact but it should give you a good idea of how to tackle it.

    Hi,
If I am not wrong, with OSS Note: 412329, it is not saying anything about Batch.
It is very well possible that it may be not useful, There are couple of other OSS Notes also adressing the same problem. Check those also, may be useful..

    ============================================================
When you post a dependent goods movement using Transaction COGI, only the goods receipt is posted and the corresponding goods issue remains as a error record. This must not occur for dependent goods movements. As a consequence, you can no longer find and edit the goods issue using Transaction COGI.
The error only occurs when you execute the following functions and confirm the dialog box with the confirmation prompt.
    You choose the 'Back' button.
    You choose the 'Cancel' button.
    You choose the 'Exit' button.
    You choose the 'Refresh' button.
The error can occur on both the cumulated display as well as on the single record display.

  • Job scenario plz help

    Dear Experts
In the following scenario plz help.
in the job work tht client is doing. we r making a production order of a NON VALUATED DUMMY MATERIAL.
the raw material which the customer gave to us was lets say 100 kg.
after doing the job work i.e. after confirming the producion order the quantity made is 105 kg.
I have to give customer only 100 kg.
so rest 5 kg is in my stock.
client want to convert it into its valuated stock.
can u please help in mapping this scenario in SAP

    One suggestion,
Do with tcodes, after you can do it with BAPI's
    1. Do an entry of subproducts: mov 531 with tcode MB11
    2. Do a transfer between materials (from a free good to a valuated good): mov 309 with tcode MB1B
    I hope this help you,

    Regards,
    Krish

    Hi,
As per standard practice, it is not recommended to use negative stocks. It may result in serious inventory control issues. Since you will continue to do GI for raw materials etc. irrespective of stock availability.
You can avoid COGI by following way :
In OPK4 Production Order confirmation parameters select your respective production order types go to Individual Entry General tab where you need to maintain tick in check boxes Goods Movements & Termination of Incorrect Goods Movements under Error Handling / Logs tab.
This practice will help you incorrect goods movement going to COGI and also prevent confirmation without proper goods movements.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Tejas
