Movement of mouse hides window behind title bar at the top of the display

My roommate's daughter was visiting and changed a bunch of settings. I got everything restored except one - at times when I move my mouse (usually in the direction of the title bar), the window "auto hides" behind the title bar. A small border at the bottom of the hidden window remains visible just below the title/tool bar, which, when I click on it, returns it to the screen.
This seems like it might be a good feature to use, IF I only knew what causes it to do this only when I want it to. Can this be turned off if I don't want to use it?
Help & Thanks!

I am having the same problem. Has anyone come up with an answer? Rick M

  • My opened apps don't show a bar on the top of the screen when I move my mouse there.

When I open an app, for example Reading List or Camera, and move my mouse to the top of the screen, no title bar appears (with an 'X' on the right to close the program, if clicked). Can I fix this?

  • [Flex 4.5.1] Focus on TextInput hides windows 7 language bar when in Chrome, Firefox works fine

Focus on TextInput hides windows 7 language bar when in Chrome (latest version by the time of the writting) - very odd behavior, if the user clicks away from the flex app then the language bar reappears but even if you change the language if you focus back on the application the language is back to what it was the last time the application was focused, though you can't actually see this since the language bar is gone.
This is kind of a serious bug since an avarage user probably would't be able to change the language with key combinations...
Does someone know anything about this issue ?

Actually giving focus on the entire flex application results in hiding the windows 7 language bar in chrome. I just reported this. Here is the link for the bug + an extra issue:

When safari is in full screen mode and I move the mouse to the top of the screen to bring up the menu bar and the bookmark bar, it does nothing.  Is anyone else having this issue?
    Thanks

I just tested that since I hardly ever use full screen mode, this was the first time since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and it worked fine for me.
Try shutting Safari down and see if that changes anything.
If that doesn't change anything, try shutting down and then rebooting.

  • Customising the color of a window's title bar

I am using form 10g. How can I customise the color of a window's title bar besides the changes that are brought about by toggling formsweb.cfg parameter look and feel? I mean if I wanted it to be gray/black?
Is the way just for interest. Does anyone know?
    Thanks

    Hi,
as far as i am aware of, there is no such option

  • How to get standard Windows (7) title bars in Visual Studio 2013 Express?

With the "title bar" background color changing when active vs inactive like all my other Windows.
Using Win 7 in "Windows Classic" theme.

    Hi sponge_bob_128,
    >>How to get standard Windows (7) title bars in Visual Studio 2013 Express?
Based on your issue, could you please tell me more detailed message about your issue.
    For example:
(1)What did you would like to do in the Visual Studio 2013 Express?
    (2) If you want to develop a program like the "title bar" background color changing when active vs inactive from the VS2013 Express.
Generally, I know that when we set the theme as "Windows Classic" theme on the Windows 7 and then start two VS windows, it will show an active VS window like the following screen shot.
To further help you solve this issue, please tell me more detailed message for me.

Safari status bar disappears. I have tried clicking on show status bar, under the View tab and it will only appear when I move the cursor to the top of the screen. I can not minimize the open page, only full screen or close the browser. Any idea how the rectify this issue?

One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

I'm not techinal so please bear with me. I don't have the bar that allows me to type in a website. I did have a few minutes ago. When I make the page full screen and move my cursor to the top of the page, the bar drops down and I can use it. I've tried restarting my computer, didn't work. Help!

Well I figured it out, right click the arrow that makes the screen bigger and unclick the Hide Toolbar. I knew it couldn't be that hard.

  • Menu bar disappearing in full-screen (I mean, not sliding down when mouse is at the top of the screen)

Well, I guess the title speaks for itself.
Sometimes (once yesterday, once today) the menu bar disappears and fails to reappear when i point my mouse at the top of the screen. It's a minor nuisance in some apps, but it's boring as **** in Safari, as it doesn't allow me to quickly open pages from my history...
I've tried rebooting and that seemed to solve the problem. Restarting Finder via force quit doesn't seem to solve anything, though.
Has something like this happened to someone else?

  • When I maximize my screen on my Mac it hides the menu bar and the typed tool bar at the top of the screen - how do i fix this

When I maximize the screen on my Mac Book Pro it hides the menu bar and the typed tool bar at the top of the screen as well.  How do I undo this?

10.7 "Full Screen" is a feature imported from IOS, the land of tiny screens.
To use a larger window on a REAL computer, adjust the Window's size to suit your needs. Do not use "Full Screen".

  • Navigation bar pinned to the top of the browser window

I have a navigation bar and graphic pinned to the top of the window, but when scrolling the page content goes over the nav bar. How can I keep it on top of all the other content?

    Hello,
    It is quite simple.
The menu is on the master page and this page is always in the background so beneath everything.
Go to your masterpage, click on the menu en use the shortcut crtl x to cut.
Now the menu is on the clipboard.
To paste it use the shortcut crtl/alt/shift/v in every page of your site. (this is called pasteing in place).
Now press in every page (with the menu selected) on the shortcut crtl/shift / ] to get the menu infront of everything.
    Greetings Alex

  • I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 The firefox menu-bar is on the top of the screen - how can I get it into the firefox window?

Maybe I'm an idiot - this does seem a very simple issue. I can right click on the tab bar and check things like Navigation Bar, or Add-on bar and they all work fine - but the menu bar is stuck on the top of the screen and appears when I role over it. However, sometimes when firefox is automatically opened by some other application (LibreOffice) it comes up in a window with menu-bar onboard. I'm sorry if this is so obvious to everybody else - but it is irritating to me

    Try hitting '''F11'''.

  • TS3408 When I open safari from the dock it opens as a small window at the top of the screen that is totally white and does not have a tool bar or exit options.  All I can do is force quit to exit.  What do I do?

When I open safari from the dock it opens as a small window at the top of the screen that is totally white and does not have a tool bar or exit options.  All I can do is force quit to exit.  What do I do?

With Safari open, press Command ,   (comma) to open Safari Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Turn that off, quit (or force quit) Safari then relaunch to test.
