Movement Type in Production

Hi SAP,
Please can one of them say the common movement types which is used in production eg..Goods Issue against production order , Goods reciept to warehouse etc...

261 Goods issue for an order
This refers to all withdrawals for orders (for example,
DS:GLOS.3526C388AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>production orders,
maintenance orders), with the exception of customer orders.
Possible special stock indicators:
E, K, P, Q, W
The goods issue can be posted manually in Inventory Management or
automatically when an order is confirmed or via a delivery in
Shipping.
The reverse 262
131 Goods receipt for run schedule header
This movement type cannot be entered manually. It is generated
automatically at notification of goods receipt for a run schedule
header.
Possible special stock indicators:
E, Q
The reverse 132
but scrapping eg
can be 551
by product 531 etc
Dont forget It changes according to customization
(Foe xample you define the movements can be done whether you use Production order or mass )

All I can suggest is checking the master data:
Must have at least one Prod. Supply Area and one control cycle set up.
PSAs are part of the WM-PP interface and are created in WM and are used to group together Work Centres (which are Production master data).
Created under application menu:
Logistics/LE/Master data/Warehouse/Production Supply (Tx LPK1/2/3 see also LS41) and assigned to Work Centres under application menu:
Logistics/Production/Master data/Work centres/Work centre/Change (Basic data view).
(To find out the PSA aka Supply Area from Process Order Display Tx select: Goto \ List \ WM Picklist and scroll to right)
A Control Cycle defines for a given material, Plant and PSA:
which WHS to get the material from
which interim storage type to take it to
which bin to place it in (can be dynamic for pick parts)
Logistics/LE/WM
Master data/Control cycle record/Create

Movement type for production Reversal-102

Hi Experts
Our client has a requirement as such what transaction MB31 is providing for reversal of Production order,we can do only 4 at a Time.
Our client requires same thing to be done in migo against production order so that we can reverse production 14 lines at a time(i,e 14 different Pos).
I tried in MIGO i got error message
Update control of movement type is incorrect(entry 102X x )
Can we configure this movement type or not.

asfar as reversing PO isconcerned it is not a good idea to use MIGo or MB31 as the childpart consumption is not increased automativcally.
So you should try CO13,where you can reverse 1 PO at a time
and automatically 262 also takes place.
Moreover why is that you have to revers so many POs which is a bad practice.

Stock is shown as outstanding although 261 movement type has been performed

Hi all,
I was doing 261 movement type against production order without passing reservation number but the client said that if we do not pass reservation number stock is shown as outstanding against reservation leading to inaccurate results on MRP run etc....But this is not clear to me... Can anyone tell me that if I post 2 good issues one without passing reservation number and another passing reservation number how can I test the difference betwen two scenarios like what do I need to check after I pass the reservation number.. I did as client said but dont know why and what difference do I see in SAP..Any thing which I need to check in MMBE after passing the reservation or any other transcation...

This statement was clear but passing reservation has impact on reserved stock..I myself checked programitically ie I am calling BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE for doing 261 . I had 2 components for my production order..For 1 item I passed reservation number and for 2nd item I did not pass reservation in 2nd item..Then I checked the stocks in MMBE.. In both cases unrestricted stock is getting reduced but the reserved stock is getting reduced only in 1st case and not in 2nd case.
My issue is for my order type and plant all components is checked in OPK4..So I need to do 261 all components (backflush and non-backflush) ...Earlier I was replicating CO11N programitically and I was able to pass goods movement data along with confirmation creation passing reservation number.My requirement was fulfilled but then suddenly we found that in 1 case this approach was failing and that was If i was doing 261 for a serialized component it gives me message 'Serial no obligatory materail cannot b updated' and in my case serialized components will be there..
For the above problem we are now doing 261 replicationg MIGO_GI and not CO11N where we can pass serial number also and reservation also .. But the problem with this approach is that we are not able to pass reservation number for backflushed items..If we pass reservation no for backflush items I am getting the error 'For reservation xxx item xxx,goodsmvt not possible'..Not clear why SAP has some type of limitation in both the approaches..
Where in I can d 261 for all components ( serialized or non serialized ) and also pass reservation number for both backflush and non backflush items..Can you suggest me an approach by which I can meet the desired functionality..
It would be great if you can suggest some thing...As you have knowledge about the whole process you can surely help me by at least saying that if I do not pass reservation then how can I reduce the reserved stock by the 2nd approach or by saying that why SAP does not allow 261 from CO11N for serialized component...

Single Report for production scrap and Movement type 551 scrap

Hi All,
Can we include the scrap information from production and scrap from movement type 551 into a single BW report?.......My assumption is we cannot include it into a single report coz production scrap will have a different material information and scrap from movement type 551 will have a different material information..please correct me ig i am wrong......

hello,
you can have a single report by two options
1. have a variable on movement type.If you choose 551..U will get materials of tht movt type.
also if the select teh movt type for prodcution, it wil display its materials.
or
2. U have to place movt type in the rows.Place movt type and then material in the rows.
Then u will get for each movt type..its corresponding materials.No variable selection needed here.

How to change movement type 531 for by-product ???

Hi,
While creating production order (CO01), by-product component with negative quantity is automatically assigned movement type 531. Can anybody tell how this movement type is picked automatically ? How can it be changed to some other movement type (say Z31 i.e. copy of movement type 531) ?

Hi Bijay,
It might be better if i share it with you.While creating the order SAP automaticallly assigns the movement type.The order created is of Devlopment class CO and GI-BY-Order is by default 531.
As you were talking about.SAP has provided us the transaction OPKA to adjust if the change is required.So please give it a try.Hoping it be you help.

Movement type 501 in MIGO doing GR for FG Product

I am using movement type 501 in MIGO doing GR for FG Product, at that time its giving error 'no manual posting allow to GL Account'
We dont want to allow any manual posting in this GL . Can be configure this Movement type like that whenever we do GR for FG product it will be automatic posting to GL Account

hi,
you can use OMJJ trx for assigning the coreesponding stock G/L to the accounting modifier
In the selection screen give the mov type as 501 and then select the account groupng for mov.types,
there you will the find the account modifier

Print indicator assigned to the MM movement type 101 F ( GR for Production Order )

Hello!
I'd like to know how to assign a print indicator to the movement type GR for Production Order 101_F
When I use the IMG path : Material management/ Inventory Management and Physical Inventory/ Print Control/ Maintain Print Indicator for Goods Receipt Document, I can only assign the movement type 101 (Goods receipt) but not the movement 101_F.

Hello Dev!
The movement 101 F is Goods Receipt for Production Order. The letter "F" corresponds to the movement indicator.
I'd like to dissociate the movements types 101 and 101_F to have only one printed label.

Backflush Components With Movement Type 101 When Confirm Production Order

Hi PP Gurus,
I found that we have a backflushing material (procurement type: F) in 'Good Movement' with movement type 101 instead of 261.
The movement type of this material (procurement type: F) in reservation is 261. How did system determine the movement type 101 there?
Is there any user exit used there?

Use a different movement type for Scrap in Production Order Confirmation

Hello gurus. I have the following question.
Is it possible to have the "Scrap" quantity during Production confirmation in a separate movement type?
Currently, when I type in the "Yield" and "Scrap" quantities, both of them are summarized into one backflush line under Movement Type 261. So for example: Yield: 10 pieces and Scrap 5 pieces; I only get one Goods Movement for 15 pieces with MvT 261.
The requirement is that whatever is typed under "Scrap" goes on a different movement type (e.g. 551), because then it will be easy to follow (inventory-wise) how many pieces were used in production and how many were scrapped.
Is it possible?

Well, I notice that when I type a quantity in the "Scrap" field, the difference with "Yield" is that I simply don't get the produced material on stock (in the case of the last operation with a GR for instance). I just get the backflushed quantity.
But yes, I guess in this transaction, I'm scrapping the produced material, the components are still issued. I was just wondering if perhaps they could be split in 261 for normal backflush and 551 for backflush that didn't generate any finished assembly.

Hello John,
551 is a transaction for scrapping inventory against a cost center. In a way, 261 is doing the same txn by moving inventory from stock to Process order.
Why are you trying to perform a 551 against a process order? There might be another solution to the business issue.

Updating materials issued for production thru movement type

we are using repetitive manufacturing scenario, and we are using back flush, how to find out the materials issued for production thru movement types, from which tables can i get the data
from AUFK i am getting the movement types and the order number, and i am unable to find out material numbers.
the requirement is need to update the costs of the materials based on the movement types for the production

You can use MB51 to get the desired info.. It will give you the Material Consumed + mvt type (261) and Order where the Material is consumed

I WM process, issue or transfer to Production process results in picking of material from the RM storge location / storage type.
If you mean your production stoarge location is same as that of the RM stoage location, it is just a tranfer within a warehous.
which you could do with posting change document. This doesnt reduce your WM stock.
If the production stoarge location is differnt from RM stiage location, then it is picking process from WM and goods issue.
this reduces your WM stock.

Yes you do not have WM-PP interface.
With WM-PP Interface you can automate the entire process based on Production order status.
For example when you confirm the Production order system will genearate TR automatically for all the components. This can be further automated to complete the warehouse operation by changing the status of Production order.

GR mov type for inwarding scrap of by product

Dear all Guru,
we enter scrap / byproduct in BOM of semi finished subcontracting material.
so when we inward this material SAP select the mov type 545 and puts this stock to sp stock "O"
so if now i need to inward this material to our stock....ex : scrap material 5 kg lying at sp stock at vendor and need to make entry to my inventory so how do i do it,

542 is the cancellation of the material document and i think it's not the right method to inward the material...
No. mvt 542 is not the cancellation of material document. 542 is the reverse mvt of 541. You can send goods to subcontractor by mvt 541 and get the goods back by 542 (except FG by mvt 101 during goods receipt).
Material document cancellation is a different thing from MB1B + 542.
If you know any better please tell us.
