Movement Types - In Transit
Greetings,
I'm working on a project where we'll be managing several retail store locations inventory using storage locations within the same plant, we will be implementing a store to store (SLoc to SLoc) transfer of finished goods where it is necessary to show goods in transit (two step process). I know in a multi-plant landscape we would use the 313/315 movement types and intransit would be view via MB5T however this doesn't seem to work when doing a transfer under the same plant between two SLoc's. Does anyone if there movement types in 46C for transfers that are two step and the tcode to view the intransit? If not can I copy an existing movement type and change the config to allow a two step?
Thanks!!
Hi,
In addition to other member said, use TCode MB52 and enter plant and store location -- > excute , you can see un. rest. stock and transfer stock in seprate column
or
you can customized report using
Table MARD, fields MARD-UMLME gt 0

Movement type for transfer of stock from Stock-in-transit to Vendor
Hello,
Is there any movement type for transfer of stock from Stock-in-transit to Vendor.
For internal transfer from Plant to Plant we follow Purchase Requisition -> Stock Transfer Order (PO Modified) -> Delivery (VL04) -> MIGO (Goods Receipt against Delivery) method.
The problem arises when the actual delivery quantity is less then what is entered in the system (due to clerical error). That is, physically less quantity were dispatched and received at the receiving plant. Now the balance quantity is lying as stock-in-transit. To clear it we are receiving the material and using transfer posting for plant to plant transfer. Though physically there is no transfer of goods. Now we do not want to receive the material instead we want it to transfer from stock in transit to the supplying plant. Is it possible ?
Thanks.
AshishHi Ashish,
When You issue the stock, the accounting document is posted . There is no accounting entires when you do Goods receipt at receving plant . In case , we are developing to make it happen , I feel it may have impact on the Material Valuation aspects .
Hence, I feel it is better to adopt any of the following 2 options.
1) Cancellation of the entire delivery and make new delivery or 2) Receive the entire qty at the receiving plant and decide what you want to do with the unavl qty . For example in your case of loss of material due to accident , you can scrap the material in the receving plant itself or return the material back to the sending plant.

Movement type 351 Goods isue for STO without shipping
The qty is transferred from unrestricted use in the issuing plant to stock in transit in the receiving plant
351 movement type is used if the goods issue is posted without delivery in shipping
A goods issue for a STO with delivery in shipping is posted using movement type 641,643,645,647
This is the explanation of 351 movement type
I see a link between your earlier post and this
You have done STO with shipping and delivery with a wrong movement type
This 351 movement type is for t code MB1B only
For intracompany STO 641 is the movement type
For intercompany STO 643 is the movement type

Stock Transfer using movement type 309 of in-transit material
Hi Gurus,
We have a scenario where we want to post a 309 movement type on an intransit STO stock (sto is done from PWO, this is done to solve a SOX compliance problem). But it seems that this is not possible as the 309 can not be posted without a s. loc. Is there any alternative to this? Can a two step transfer using 313 and 315 do the trick? Please advise.
ThanksIn real life you cannot do anything to a material that is somewhere on the road, hence it is pretty limited what you can do in SAP.
What exactly do you want to do? -
MB5B report consider movement type 351 as a receipt.
Hi Experts,
I want to know why MB5B report consider 351 movement as receipt on the date of issue iteself & why it did not consider receipt on the GR date.
Thanks,
KiranDear Kiran,
When we transfer the material using 351 movement type system creates the material document containing 2 lines
Line 1 for issuing plant with Negative quantity
Line 2 for receiving plant with positive quantity (this line auto created, you can find in MSEG table XAUTO field)
And posts the material into stock in transit in receiving plant
So when we post 351 accounting document is also generated (Cr. in issuing plant ,Dr. in receiving plant)
i.e stock account postings already completed after 351 (That is why no accounting doc generated after 101)
Now in MB5B Report there is a selection option Stock Type now when you select Valuated stock
It will show the quantity in receiving plant (As accounting doc generated, although 101 not yet done)
But if you select Storage Loc./Batch Stock you will find that 351 will not show
That is the logic of valuated stock -
Automatic Creation of MIGO for stock transfer order with movement type 351
I have used the BAPI - BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE_OIL to create the material document number. But the test ended with error "Goods movement not possible with mvmt type 351".
Is there any ways to eliminate the above error....
Friends need your help351 Goods issue for a stock transport order (without SD)
The quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use stock in the issuing plant to stock in transit in the receiving plant.
Movement type 351 is only used if the goods issue is posted without an SD delivery. A goods issue for a stock transport order with SD delivery is posted using movement type 641 or 643.
The transfer posting is also possible for materials valuated separately.
The goods issue for a stock transport order takes place using movement type 101.
Possible special stock indicators: E, Q
For special stock indicators E and Q and for purchase orders assigned to an account, ensure that the quantity is not posted to the stock in transit in the receiving plant. -

I want to kw that, is there any problem in our system or its a standard and how to handle this situation.
ThnaksHi,
For this you need to set up Strategies for Stock determination.
Trasncation code : OSPX
Go to new entries.
Enter your plant code and any 4 digit key and save.
Select this entry and click on the stock determination rule. Type any 4 digit key and save.
Click on Stock determination header. Select your entry, which is having your given plant code, stock determination group and stock determination rule and click on the stock determination item table.
there you have to maintain all ur batches as per the combination of Periotity indicator, Storage location and stock indicator.
For first periority - 1& second periority - 2 & third periority - 3
Storage location - 0001
stock indicator - F for standard & K for consignment.
F 0001 1 A
F 0001 2 b
F 0001 3 c
F 0001 4 d
This stock determination group ( 4 digit key), you have to maintain in the material master record - MRP2 view.
Maintain stock determination group and MRP profile - ND
Then during GR, system will check stock determination group in the MMR and based on that first system stock availability for the first periority batch. If stock is there, it will pick. If stock is not there, system will pick second one.

Movement type 1-step in Schedule line category for STO
Hello Experts,
What is the difference between single step and two step movement type in Stock Transport Order? What is its significance?
My understanding in case of stock to stock and plant to plant material movements in Inventory management:
If we use single step, once the goods are issued at the issuing plant stocks are updated immediately both at the issuing plant (reduced) and receiving plant (increased).
In case of two steps,
Stock to stock material will be in <u>stock in transfer</u> for receiving plant once the goods are issued at issuing plant
Plant to plant Material will be in <u>stock in transit</u> for receiving plant once the goods are issued at issuing plant.
Is this the same concept in STO?
OR
What is the significance of Movement type 1-step in Scheudle line category?Have a look there

Goods Issuance: movement type 303 and 305
Hi!
What happens after performing movement type 303? Is it automatically charged to the receiving plant? Or does the receiving plant have to perform 305 first before it will be charged to them?
What will happen if movement type 305 is not performed? Can a plant do 305 without doing 303 first?
Hope you can explain the whole process of 303 and 305..
Thanks,

303 and 305 are two step transfer postings where issuing plant issues stock through movement type 303 to stock in transit and the stock stays in transit until the material is received by the receiving plant through movement 305.
If 305 is not performed, the stock will remain in transit and will keep on showing in MB5T report as stock in transit.
Without 303, 305 cannot take place. 305 is continuation of 303.
I guess the entries for 303 will be
Issuing plant - Credit
Stock in transit - Debit
Then at 305
Stock in transit - Credit
Receiving plant - Debit
Basically two step transfer posting is required for reporting and tracking purpose, where when stock is in transit, it should show in report that goods are still in transit and when the goods are received. -
Custom Movement Type - Hybrid of 671 and 657
Summary:
Due to a business process we are looking for a movement type similar
to a 671, but instead of inventory going to unrestricted stock, it goes
to blocked stock instead.
Detail:
We have a business process where one plant (store) will create a return
STO (RETPO=X) to another plant (warehouse). This STO utilizes delivery
processing. Following the creation of the STO, a negative goods receipt
is perform at the original receiving plant (store) using movement type
161. This stock leaves the store as unrestricted stock type. When it
arrives at the warehouse, a negative goods issue is performed using a
671 movement types. This brings the stock back into the original
shipping location as unrestricted stock.
Since the product being returned is defective we would like this product
to be brought back into the warehouse (original shipping location) as
blocked stock.
We have tried using movement type 657 instead of 671, and while it posts
to the desired stock type, the movement does not update the STO with the
negative goods issue, nor does it remove it from stock in-transit.
Question:
This there either, a standard movement type or settings to create a
custom movement type, which will be a hybrid of 671 and 657? We want
this movement type to remove the stock in-transit and update the STO (as
671), and go into blocked stock (as 657).there is no such Hybrid movement type.
you cannot really create own movement types, you can only create new movement types by copy of an existing one.
If such combination is not forseen (and no coding in SAP programs) then it is not possible to create such a movement type yourself.
Stock in transit has no stock categories to differentiate between unrestricted, quality or blocked stock, you can only post unrestricted stock into transit. Hence you can only get unrestricted stock from in-transit.
QM would have been an option as you can define inspection types and they trigger that a stock will go into quality inspection instead directly to unrestricted.
But you already said that you do not use QM - so there is not much what you can do except remembering that you do a transfer posting to bring returns into blocked stock . -
Movement types 101,131,132
what is the difference between movement types 101,131,132. All are goods receipt so when to use which one?
Sandip,
101 Goods receipt for purchase order or order
If the purchase order or order has not been assigned to an account, a stock type (unrestricted-use stock, stock in quality inspection, blocked stock) can be entered during goods receipt.
If the purchase order or order has been assigned to an account, the goods receipt is not posted to the warehouse, but to consumption.
In the case of non-valuated materials, the goods receipt is posted to the warehouse, although the purchase order has not been assigned to an account.
Possible special stock indicators:
K Goods receipt for purchase order to consignment stock
O Goods receipt for purchase order to stock of material provided to vendor
E GR for purchase order or order to sales order stock
Q GR for purchase order or order to project stock.
Goods receipt for subcontract order: at goods receipt, the consumption of the components is posted at the same time (see movement type 543)
Goods receipt for stock transport order: at goods receipt the transported quantity is posted in the receiving plant from stock in transit into unrestricted-use stock (stock in quality inspection or blocked stock).
131 Goods receipt for run schedule header
This movement type cannot be entered manually. It is generated automatically at notification of goods receipt for a run schedule header.
Possible special stock indicators:
E, Q
Hope this was helpful
