Mover's coupon denied on Sony TV purchase (XBR-65X850B)

Hello,
Having read the forums here and seen a much fancier TV being OK'ed for mover's 10% coupon, I headed to Bestbuy store today to buy a lower version of the same (XBR-65X850B) but was told that the mover's coupon did not work.
Can someone here tell me why it works for a much more premium model but not for this one? I am off to Fry's in the meantime who is offering the same models at same price and are returning all taxes. Once that order is placed, I will cancel my order with Best Buy - I simply don't see any reason to take my business there specially since the mover's coupon would only match Fry's offer (even though considering I am an Elite plus member).
Thank you.

Hello dawizard,
I understand that you took the time to research the Mover’s coupon on our forum before heading out to your local Best Buy store. I am disheartened to read that you were not able apply your Mover’s coupon to your purchase of a Sony - 65" Class (64-1/2" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV. It must have been frustrating to learn that the coupon would not be applied to the television of your choice.
As you might have already read the in the Mover’s Coupon exclusions, selected premium televisions from LG, Samsung, Sharp and Sony may not qualify for the discount. I have verified the model that you tried to purchase does not qualify for the Mover’s coupon I apologize for any disappointment that this causes you.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know of your experience, and I hope Best Buy can provide you with a better experience in the future.

  • Why can't I use mover's coupon on Macbook?

    Hi,
Happy thanksgiving everyone, but my experience at Best Buy today was so disappointed.
I recently moved to new home and received a mover's coupon for Best Buy. I tried to buy a Macbook Air 13.3 at 8251 Gateway Overlook Dr, Elkridge, MD 21075. At checkout, I showed the associate the coupon and I was told I could not use it. He said Apple Macbooks are "Unlateral Minimum Resale Price (UMRP) products". I don't even know what UMRP means, but I thought ok, it's thanksgiving, there is no need to give anybody a hard time. Then I paid the full price for it which is 899.99. Then I went back and told a friend about the purchase. He was shocked I paid so much for it. He told me he WAS able to use the mover's coupon as well as student discounts on the exact same Macbook, and he paid $170 dollars less than I did. I went back to the store and talked to the customer service, I even showed them my friend's receipt. But the associates in the store kept telling me the UMRP non-sense. There is nowhere on the coupon saying Macbooks are excluded. After 30 mins talk, I still could not get the discount. And I felt so disappointed about Best Buy, especially at Thanksgiving eve.
I did some research online, and I found this post in this forum : http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-Buy-Store-Purchase/Why-can-t-I-use-a-Movers-Coupon-on-a-MacBook/td.... Apparently, somebody else had the same problem and it was solved. Can any moderators here give me some help? At least give me an explaination that makes sense (Please, no more UMRP non-sense).
    Thank you.
PS: I want to insert the images of my receipt, the coupon and my friend's receipt. But I am not able to insert them. But I can provide them if needed.

    Hello Disappointedme-
I absolutely apologize for the lateness of my reply, we are extremely backlogged from the holiday and Black Friday and we’re trying to catch up.
No pun intended, but it’s definitely disappointing to hear that you were unable to utilize the mover’s coupon on the MacBook Air you purchased.  Based on what you are stating the store said, they may have been misinterpreting what qualified under the terms and conditions of the coupon.  In this situation, I believe that the coupon should have been applied, but I would need to do some more research.  If you could send me a private message with your full name as well as the Customer Service Pin from your purchase, I would be happy to look into this further.
You can generally find the Customer Service Pin near the middle of the receipt, where it should say “Your Customer Service Pin is” and underneath it will be four sets of numbers.  You can send me a private message by logging into the forum and clicking on the button across from my name on this post.
I look forward to hearing back from you!

  • Can I use 'mover's coupon' on iMac 27" 5K?

last friday I went to best buy at Paramus, NJ to buy 5K iMac 27"and there's a black friday sale going on.I tried to use my mover's coupon(it was already activated and printed)and the sales associate told me it can be used on "ANY" apple products.I read all policy on website but I couldn't find that policy. but they didn't apply my mover's coupon on that purchaseI also bought apple track pad, but I couldn't use mover's coupon, too. could you anyone just clarify this issue?thank you

    Hello boramee,
It seems you went into the store very prepared having taken the time to carefully read the terms of your coupon which you had activated and printed before your visit. That’s about as ready as you could have been, in my opinion. I apologize for any confusion you have experienced after noticing your Movers Coupon was not applied to your transaction.
This program has had some changes to the coupon and how it can be used, and it should be able to be used on Apple products. The store employee should have been able to validate this using the terms printed on your coupon or ask a member of leadership to be sure this information was correct. Using the information you supplied here on the forums, I was able to pull up your purchase history and locate this transaction to confirm it was not applied.
To investigate this for you further, I have sent you a private message to obtain some more details. You may check you private messages by clicking on the envelope in the upper right-hand corner while you are logged into the forums.
    Kindest regards,

  • Movers Coupon Denied on 11/26 for Macbook Pro

    Hello and Happy Thanksgiving!
I was hoping I could get some help and/or clarification on my shopping experience tonight.
I went to store# 849 this evening to purchase this 15" Macbook Pro that is on sale for $1699, at the register I tried to use my 10% off movers coupon that I received from the USPS and the system wouldn't take the coupon, the assistant manager then came over to try to assist and same problem, he then explained that the system is not able to accept the coupon because the item is considered to be a UMRP item and on top of that it's on sale.  The store manager then came over and confirmed the same thing that the movers coupons cannot be used on Apple computers, laptops, iphones, etc.
Both the assistant manager and store manager then looked over the T&C's as well as restrictions for the coupon and noticed nothing that stated that the coupon could not be used on this item and came to the conclusion that the coupon most likely won't stack because the item is on sale for $300 under Apple's MSRP.
Before I went into the store to try to purchase the Macbook, I read the T&C's for the coupon on Best Buy's site and saw that I shouldn't have this issue and I also read on this forum that the Macbook should be allowed for purchase with the coupon and didn't expect to walk out of the store empty handed.
Since the coupon could not be applied, I did not purchase the item however I would still like to purchase this item at it's current sale price as well as use my 10% coupon however my new issue is, I'm told by the store that the item will be off sale for $1699 on Friday and my coupon is only good from 10/1/14-11/26/14 and then 12/2/14-2/28/14.  If I should've been able to use this coupon, then I just lost a great opportunity to purchase this item at a great price. I would also like to know if I'm able to use this coupon on an open box Macbook Pro that is at another store, this could be a possible alternative to not getting this item this evening.
Can someone from Best Buy please offer some clarification on this issue and also advise what kind of resolution can be made?  I am an elite member and this item would've kept my elite status into next year but I'm fine with taking my business elsewhere if needed.
Thank you in advance for any help that can be offered.
    Solved!

    Hello johnny_hotsauce-
I absolutely apologize for the lateness of my reply, we are extremely backlogged from the holiday and Black Friday and we’re trying to catch up.
Our mover’s coupons can offer a great opportunity to our customers to get some great savings on their purchase.  I am sorry to hear that you were not able to take advantage of the coupon on Thanksgiving with this particular MacBook Pro.
As the coupon called out, it was not valid from 11/27-12/1, which would mean that it could not be used on the MacBook that evening.  Regrettably, the sale price on that item has since ended, so we would not be able to offer that sale price along with the coupon.  Otherwise, you should still be able to use it with the MacBook if you would like to purchase it at this time.
I apologize for any disappointment that this causes you.
    Sincerely,

  • Mover's Coupon Macbook Pro 13" Retina

I posted a few weeks ago on this forum about the ability to combine a mover's coupon with a $100 student coupon, to which I was informed the policy is now either or, which is understandable. However, I purchased a Macbook Pro 13" Retina earlier this afternoon and was not allowed to use my mover's coupon, to which I explained I was told by a Best Buy representative that I had the ability to use it toward my purchase of a Macbook. The employee still refused the coupon and I was unable to use it toward my purchase. This frustrates me as I was told by someone within the Best Buy community that this would be allowed, yet clearly there are not universal standards commuicated within the organization.

    Hey there collinreko –
It’s so exciting to hear that you ended up purchasing your Macbook yesterday after more than a few weeks of considering it. It is displeasing to hear that you were provided conflicting information about what the mover’s coupon is applicable to. Based on what you have told me, this coupon should have been applied to your purchase. I am more than happy to help you with this.
Using the email address you provided when you registered with us, I was unable to locate any purchases of a Macbook Pro 13” Retina. In order for me to look further into the situation, I will need to locate the purchase. If you were provided a receipt, please send me a private message and include either the customer PIN or order number starting with BBY01. If you do not have those readily available, please supply me with the following information:
    ·         Phone numbers or email addresses that may have been used during purchase
    ·         Exact store location at which the product was purchased
    ·         Description of any other items purchased on the same transaction
    ·         Total amount of purchase
You can send me a message through the Private Message link across from my name below the post. Feel free to let me know if there are any additional concerns as well.
I look forward to hearing from you,

  • Mover's Coupon Terms - Severe Lack of Clarity

As indicated in the thread title, Best Buy's terms / conditions / and exclusions for the mover's coupon is stupefyingly vague.  Best Buy does not post on it web pages just which items are Unilateral Minimum Resale Price (UMRP) and the exlcuions list only indicates "Some" Samsung and Sony TVs... well which ones?!
    I will be buying at least two TV's from the following list: 1) UN65HU9000; 2) UN55HU9000; 3) UN65HU8700; UN65HU8550; 4) a Sony 900B; 5) a PN60F8500; and/or 6) a PN64F8500.  One for bedroom and for the family room.
Calling a nearby big box store resulted in no useful info.  I called the national number and after being transferred to three different phone reps (two in geek squad for some unknown reason) nobody could actually give me any infoirmation.  This is the sort of aggravation that initially led me away from Best Buy when back in 2010 the local Best Buy for my old address were rather rude in refusing to price match some video cards (where I swore off shopping for myself from Best Buy) and in 2011 Black Friday when the customer service department tried to pass off as new some clearly open-box, refurb Klipsch speakers that a friend asked me to buy.  That swore me off Best Buy entirely until now.
After three years I thought I'd give Best Buy another chance, but this has been surprisingly more opaque than the back and forth in getting the mortgage for the home I just moved to.
So, are any of those TV's on the coupon list, and if prices drop post-Thanksgiving would I be out luck from Best Buy's price matching?
I intend on buying at least two of these mid-upper tier TVs in the immediate future, it's just a question of where.

    Hi Aggroed_Buyer,
The terms of these coupons shouldn’t be vague at all, and I really am sorry if we were not able to get the answers you deserve in a timely manner. I just read through the terms of this coupon and it seems pretty straight-forward to me what is accepted and what is not.
It is correct that we don’t list ever specific model TV that is accepted or not as that would be a very long list given the sheer number of TVs we carry. Any store could have told you if a specific model is accepted or not. I look at all the models you listed and the only model that this coupon could be used on is model UN65HU8700.
    I hope this helps,

  • HT201272 I have purchased a movie and elected to download later; when I go to the iTunes store, it shows where it is purchased yet when I go to the movie it ask for it to be purchased, will I be charged twice for the movie I have not downloaded yet?

I purchased the movie "Black Nativity" at midnight and selected to download later; it shows that the movie has been charged in my account for billing, however; I when I go to download the movie, it ask for it to be purchased versus download.  I would like to know if I will be charged again for the movie upon selecting  purchase movie?  I would like some direction as for how to download the movie that I already purchased.

Clicking on its purchase price again may result in you being charged again. Does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option download it
Or does it show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for downloading

  • Mover's Coupon Activation Code

    Hello wuyiL,
That's strange.  Is it the official address that the postal service would recognize?

    Hello there Gatsky-
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve experienced this issue with the activation website for our mover’s coupon.  Not being able to get your coupon activated is definitely frustrating and not something we would have our customers deal with.
We are aware of the issue and are currently looking into the problem.  However, some customers have had success by clearing their browser or by using Firefox as a browser.  Otherwise, if we find out what the issue is, we’ll be updating customers as necessary.  The best advice I can give it to continue to try the activation site here periodically.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.
    Sincerely,

Welcome to the Apple Community Jebson.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
        1.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
        2.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
        3.    Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
        4.    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
        5.    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

The best solution I've come across so far is to dump all movies into a shareware app called iVI. It'll show whether each movie has subtitles or not.

  • Order get cancelled, my mover's coupon and points got messed up.

i placed a order online for an open-box moto360. The price was good, so i redeemed my points into a certificate and made a order.
Everything went well till my order got cancelled.
Bestbuy returned my certificate as a promotion code and nothing else!
My mover coupon cannot be used again! Also i have to use my promotion code in one month or it will get expired.
I saved my points for my fav stuffs and now it will expired in one month.
now i just want my point back and get my mover's coupon back.

Greetings syt1100, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,
I can imagine your surprise to find that after your order was cancelled the Mover's Coupon was not reissued and a digital coupon was issued rather than points.  The Mover's Coupon was not reissued after your order was cancelled because it cannot be reissued.  It is a one-time use coupon.
While it is not all that common, there are times where a My Best Buy™ certificate will be reissued in the form of a digital coupon following a return/cancellation rather than just reissuing the points.  That is done because it can generally take 3 to 6 business days for a certificates point value to repost to a member's account and the digital coupon allows for a quicker turnaround since you were trying to place an order.  If you have decided to wait and not place a second order, then the expiration date could potentially pose a problem.
I do apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and would like to go over your My Best Buy™ account with you to see if there are any other questions I can help answer.  To accomplish that, I will be sending you a private message.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the little yellow envelope at the top of the page.

  • How do I send a Q-Time movie thru Email??Must I ''Purchase/Buy?

ok...this confuses me. We just got back from Hawaii(Yes, wonderful..) and I recorded on my SONY dig.camera, 3 movies of hula -girls/music. I can play them ON MY MAC PRO no problem...but QuickTime Player does not "let me -SAVE it as a FILE so I could send these videos ' to friends.....It says "Purchase Quicktime /Q-time PRO.......wwhhaa???? Why can't I just SAVE these movies as files..on my harddrive and send as an attachment? again, they play ON MY Computer,, just fine.I'm on TIGER 10.4.11 MAC PRO tower.. thx any advice!!

Why can't I just SAVE these movies as files..on my harddrive and send as an attachment?
Sounds like you may not have QT 7 Player "Pro" keyed and/or are not using a QT-based application having similar access. To maximize your options, you may wish to download MPEG Streamclip (or a similar application). This/these apps allow you to both edit, as well as, convert your files. By this, I mean, you can cut and/or re-compress the files to make them small enough to e-mailed as attachments. Other alternatives would be to upload large files to an online service and simply send the URL to your potential viewers in an email message.

  • Purchased movies are missing and no longer on purchase list

I purchased quite a few digital movies off of iTunes and they used to show on my list of purchased movies.  Now they are gone and they aren't in my iTunes anymore.  I spent a lot of money.  Has anyone else run into this problem?

When you say "they used to show on my list of purchased movies", and that "Now they are gone", where are you looking for your "list of purchased movies" now?
I recently needed to re-download a purchased movie, because my iTunes backup failed to restore (a different issue altogether), I was having trouble seeing my purchase, and, worse, finding how to re-download without having to re-purchase.  It all turned out to be that iTunes and the iTunes Store had changed to the point that I had to look for such in very different places.  It was all there and OK, I just had to get there in a very different way than I was expecting.
First off, if you go into your account on the iTunes Store, and pull up your Purchase History (click on your Apple ID, choose Account, scroll down to Purchase History, and choose "See All >"), do you find the purchases you remember?  If so, then at least that record is OK.
Now, go to the iTunes Store Home, or almost anywhere besides your Purchase History.  Scroll to the bottom and click on "Purchased" under "Features".  You should be able to select Movies and find your purchased movies (under either the "All" tab, or the "Not in My Library" tab).
The main trouble here is that simply clicking almost anywhere on the images will do nothing!  You have to actually click on the little cloud with the downward pointing arrow in the upper right-hand corner to download the previously purchased content,
Unfortunately, if you don't find your previously purchased content here (especially if it doesn't show up in your Purchase History) then you have a problem I can't help you solve, and you should check the possible issues King_Penguin has suggested.
    Happy hunting.
