  • Xfinity Movers Edge Seamless?? Let's explore

    Please be aware that xfinity’s Movers Edge service does not work.  As a result and after sticking with the company since 2002, I will be taking my internet/tv business elsewhere…anywhere else. Where to begin?  First of all, the program sells how easy and seamless it is.  To me, seamless does not include me being without service for 20 days.  20 days!  I work from home.  How am I supposed to accept that?  “Oh, we’re busy.”  Well, I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have enough staff to cover demand.  The way I see it, their view is that new customers are more important than retaining existing customers.  That’s bad for business.   Secondly, this was after xfinity/Comcast tells me they will call me to finish setting-up the transfer for the date requested.  They did not call.  I only move the process forward by calling back several days later.  The new rep is not even able to acknowledge that my move request was a call back.  I’m quickly told that I can self-install that can work for me but later in the call I find out that no, really they have to send out a tech…but no tech is available for 20 days.  So the program is neither seamless nor easy. Oh, it gets worse.  I’m told, let’s just put in the transfer and you can call the local office to see if they may have cancelations.  I don‘t like the idea but agree.  The next day, I call the number given to me and I get a general Comcast message saying the number does not work.  You must be kidding me.  I ask Google to be sure I didn’t transpose the digit.  Sure enough, I dialed the right number and it doesn’t work.  Come on. There are many other internet and TV options out there competing with xfinity/Comcast.  After 15 min of quick research, I decide to cancel my service.  I call to cancel.  Retention says, “We’re busy.  The next available transfer/install date is the same 20 days later than my move date.”  Well, that wraps it up.  My business is not important to them.  It is not hard to find a new partner.  So in a nutshell, xfinity needs to say that the move program works if you give 3-6 months’ notice of a move.  Maybe then they’ll be able to find a tech to assist because you likely won’t be able to self-install anyway.  Oh yeah, for the longtime customers, xfinity appreciates your loyalty, but their loyalty?…draw your own conclusion.  xfinity, you have to do better.

    I did create 100x100px rectangle at 0x0px. Then I exported that to tiff with anti aliasing on (composition, or whatever it's called in English. Unfortunately changing language in Illustrator is not that easy. Anyway not text anti aliasing).
    Problem still exists.
    (here is ai file: rectangle.ai)
    after export gives:
    exported_rectangle.tif
    So I believe what you suggested is not an issue.
    Edit:
    Just to make sure I did export it with text anti aliasing on as well. Effect is the same. I used following export settings:
    Color model - RGB
    Resolution - 300dpi
    Anti aliasing - both as mentioned above
    Compression LZA - checked
    ICC profile - Adobe RGB (1998)
    Edit 2:
    Here is screenshot with transparency mask on. That proves there is no white background behind rectangle:
    What's even more interesting, when I accidentally pressed Ctrl+C instead of Prt Scr to make print screen and pasted that to MS Paint, I've got exactly same thing as with export:

  • Movers edge told me my account and promo was transferred to my new home - was not

    I had the HD Preferred Plus XF for 109.99 until May 2016
    Old package included
    Preferred channels
    HD Technology fee
    HBO Stars
    High Speed BLAST internet - All for 109.99
    I need one DVR one HD box and we rent the Gateway. So that like $139.00 before taxes and fees
    I was told nothing changed and my package and promo was set up at my new location by the movers edge people but not the case here. I even confirmed with the movers edge guy what I wanted since my last move was a disaster. I said i have my HD Preferred Plus XF same price no changes expect I'll save since I don't need as many boxes and I was told "yes!"
    I now have the Starter Triple play for 79.99 until 7/2016 then its $99.99 (but yet I was told the 79.99 was for two years)
    with a fee for Preferred Channels $17.95
    with a fee for HD Technology $9.95
    with a fee for HBO Stars $21.95 (got that free for 6 months with all my calls into get this fixed)
    my blast internet will be $12 next year too
    with boxes and free HBO for 6 months its $138.00 (all prices are before taxes) but after 6 months when the movie channels I HAD with my old package aren't free that $160. And add in the blast going to $12 next year and the package going up $20 thats a huge rate for next year.
    This is not anything close to what I had price wise and I've called in several times and they tell me I can't keep my promo since I moved. BUT I took this promo with my last time I move back in 7/2013 after 5 days of calls some lady named Kamina (not sure of the spelling) FINALLY got into my account and found my promo and got a supervisor to give me what I had. Please tell me you can help me! I was told an email was being sent to review my account and someone would get back to me in 5 days. I cant wait that long. I know someone can give make this happen - all I want is what I had why am I being punished for moving.

  • Movers Edge issues

    I'm having frustrating situation when attempting to move my services.  A few weeks ago I went to the Movers Edge website to transfer my services.  It seemsed pretty easy but after my transaction processed, I got a conformation number but I never recieved a confirmation email AND the transfer never took place.  I tried again on the website with the same results.  I have also called the Movers Edge hotline multiple times but there seems to be technical or systems issues every time I call.  I just want to move my services and change to a new package.  The website was very easy to use but it seems like my transactions never go through.  Is there something I am doing incorrectly?  I would love some help getting this taken care of ASAP.  Thanks

    Did they offer you a visa gift card to transfer service? Then when you ask why it hasn't arrived, they say, "Who? What gift card?" Then when you say you have a screenshot of the offer and the confirmation chat... The phone starts acting funny?
    Yeah, me neither... I'm sure people are just making this up...

  • I am going to buy a macbook pro for grade 12, and I need to know wheather I should get a macbook pro or a macbook pro retina. If someone could tell me (in a very simple way) which one is,better for me and why, I would be ever so apprreciative.

    Why do you need a expensive MacBook Pro?
    Your attending high school and unless everyone else is rich also your likely going to be a target by the more poorer students for theft or damage to the machine.
    You could keep it home, but if you need it for class then your exposed again.
    Also at that age your not very careful yet, a MacBook Pro is a expensive and easily damaged machine.
    Unless your made of money and so are others at your school, I would recommned a low profile, just does the job cheap Windows PC.
    If it dies, gets lost, stolen or damaged because of your inexperince handling senstivie electronics then it's no big deal.
    You can buy a Mac later on when your sure you have a need for it, currently there isn't much advantage of owning a Mac compared to a PC, they do just about the same things now, one just looks prettier than the other.
    Since 95% of the world uses Windows PC's your going to have to install Windows on the Mac in order to keep your skills up there or be unemployed, so it's a extra headache and expense.
    good luck

  • Which is better of MANY_TO_ONE and ONE_TO_MANY

    I am trying je.
    A little confuse is , that suppose A has one_to_many relation to B, then B can have many_to_one relation to A. And both solution is acceptable to my application. Which should I choose?

    Hello Jie,
    This is a very good question, since we do not describe in the documentation how to choose between MANY_TO_ONE and ONE_TO_MANY. As you point out, it can be done either way when a related entity is used.
    For example, here is how MANY_TO_ONE can be used:
    @Entity
    class Person {
      @PrimaryKey(sequence="ID")
      long id;
      @SecondaryKey(relate=MANY_TO_ONE, relatedEntity=Employer.class)
      long employerId;
      String name;
    @Entity
    class Employer {
      @PrimaryKey(sequence="ID")
      long id;
      String description;
    }Of course we will need primary indexes for both entities:
    PrimaryIndex<Long,Person> personById = ...;
    PrimaryIndex<Long,Employer> employerById = ...;To get the employer of a person, we simply pass the employerId to the primary index:
    Person person = ...;
    Employer employer = employerById.get(person.employerId);To get the employees for a given employer, we get a sub-index for the employerId secondary key:
    long anEmployerId = ...;
    SecondaryIndex<Long,Long,Person> personByEmployerId = ...;
    EntityIndex<Long,Person> employees = personByEmployerId.subIndex(anEmployerId);
    EntityCursor<Person> cursor = employees.entities();
    try {
      for (Person employee : cursor) {
        // do something with employee
    } finally {
      cursor.close();
    }And here is how ONE_TO_MANY can be used to provide the same functionality:
    @Entity
    class Person {
      @PrimaryKey(sequence="ID")
      long id;
      String name;
    @Entity
    class Employer {
      @PrimaryKey(sequence="ID")
      long id;
      @SecondaryKey(relate=ONE_TO_MANY, relatedEntity=Person.class)
      Set<Long> employeeIds;
      String description;
    }To get the employer of a person, we simply pass the person id to the employer's secondary index:
    Person person = ...;
    SecondaryIndex<Long,Long,Employer> employerByEmployeeIds = ...;
    Employer employer = employerByEmployeeIds.get(person.id);The primary difference is that with MANY_TO_ONE the collection of employee IDs is maintained by the secondary index, while with ONE_TO_MANY the collection of employee IDs is embedded in the Employer entity.
    Therefore to get the employees for a given employer with ONE_TO_MANY, we get the Employer object from the employerById primary index and then get each person in the employeeIds set:
    long anEmployerId = ...;
    SecondaryIndex<Long,Long,Person> personByEmployerId = ...;
    Employer employer = employerById.get(anEmployerId);
    for (long employeeId : employer.employeeIds) {
      Person employee = personById.get(employeeId);
      // do something with employee
    }There is a major difference in terms of performance and scalability. With ONE_TO_MANY, if the number of employees for a single employer is very large, then the Employer record will be large because the list of employee IDs is embedded in the Employer object. This means that it will be more expensive to load the employer, for example, if all you want is the employer description field. The list of employee IDs will always be loaded whenever you access an employer.
    On the other hand, with MANY_TO_ONE, the set of employers is stored in the sub-index. The sub-index is a Btree. It is very scalable and can easily support large numbers of employees per employer, even millions. And when simply loading the Employer record, the set of employeeIds for that employer will not be loaded. The Employer record will be very small.
    There are four factors in deciding whether to use MANY_TO_ONE or ONE_TO_MANY.
    (1) As shown above, it is slightly easier to use ONE_TO_MANY, because you don't need to use a sub-index as you must do with MANY_TO_ONE.
    (2) MANY_TO_ONE will scale to larger number of entities per relationship, since a sub-index Btree is used to store the related entities.
    (3) With MANY_TO_ONE, the entity object will not grow to a large size as many related entities are added. Smaller records are always better for performance and resource consumption.
    In general, I advise using MANY_TO_ONE because it does not have the potential performance problems of ONE_TO_MANY (items 2 and 3 above).
    But if you know that the number of related entities per relationship will be small, then either technique works well, and you should choose whichever you prefer. You may find that ONE_TO_MANY is slightly easier to use (item 1 above). Or you may choose one technique over the other because you prefer to maintain the relationship via the Person.employerId field or the Employer.employeeIds set.
    There is one additional factor. If you have a secondary key where there is no related entity, just related keys, then you have no choice. There is only one entity, and you choose the relationship type accordingly.
    For example, a Person may have many email addresses, and you may choose not to have an EmailAddress entity. The email addresses are simply secondary keys, not the key of another related entity. If a user can only have one email address, you would use ONE_TO_ONE. If the user can have multiple email addresses, you would use ONE_TO_MANY as shown below.
    @Entity
    class Person {
      @PrimaryKey(sequence="ID")
      long id;
      @SecondaryKey(relate=ONE_TO_MANY)
      Set<String> emailAddresses;
      String name;
    }A gender (male or female) secondary key is an example of a MANY_TO_ONE relationship where no related entity is involved:
    @Entity
    class Person {
      @PrimaryKey(sequence="ID")
      long id;
      @SecondaryKey(relate=MANY_TO_ONE)
      char gender; // M or F
      String name;
    }In this last example, there is no choice about whether to use ONE_TO_MANY or MANY_TO_ONE because there is only one entity involved. So this last rule is:
    (4) If there is no related entity, then because there is only one entity involved the relationship type is determined by the cardinality (number) of entities and keys in each relationship.

  • Is there a better free video conversion program than handbrake?

    I wanna be able to make videos into the iphone format or convert .flv files to a watchable format and I usually use handbrake but lately it seems to only successfully finish converting 1 in 50 files I attempt, so is there a better, more reliable and most importantly free way to convert file types?

    No, there is not.
    There are other ways to rip homemade DVD's and convert, but not an all in one universal converter.
    Are you using the most current version of handbrake?
    Have you gone to the handbrake forums, posted your problem with an activity log?

  • What is difference bet  call transaction and session method in BDC

    hi
    what is difference bet  call transaction and session method in BDC
    thanks.

    Hi,
    Session method.
    1) synchronous processing.
    2) can tranfer large amount of data.
    3) processing is slower.
    4) error log is created
    5) data is not updated until session is processed.
    Call transaction.
    1) asynchronous processing
    2) can transfer small amount of data
    3) processing is faster.
    4) errors need to be handled explicitly
    5) data is updated automatically

    Hi,
    In SRM there are different Partner functions like REQUESTER, GOODS RECIPIENT, VENDOR ,LOCATION.
    All the org units or users in SRM will have a unique identification number called Business Partner Number maintained in table BUT000.
    The users can have differnt partner functions in differnt documents and accordingly mainatained in table CRMD_PARTNER.
    Hope this will give you some infomation.

    Is the battery life better on the iphone 5s than on the iphone 5?

    I have the iPhone 5s and my wife has the iPhone 5.  They both last a few days between charges.
    I am not sure that I can tell a difference, as I use mine less than she uses hers, but they both seem to last.

  • What is better to use and why?

    Hi,
    What is better to use and why?
    We have written follwing statements to check the existence of interested record in table.
    1).
    select count(*) from emp where deptno = 20;
    2).
    select 'X'
    from dual
    where exists (
    select 'X' from emp
    where deptno = 20);
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rushang Kansara

    Assuming a large table, number two would be the fastest. If empno in unique, you can leave out the where exists part and just select x from emp where empno = 20. If empno is not unique, then using where exists can be faster. Assuming that empno is not unique, query 1 may elect to scan the whole table looking for that empno. Number 2 can use the index and return your result in, typically, three LIOs.
    Again, it all depends on your indexing, size of tables, and uniqueness of key upon which you are searching.

  • How much better is VBR 2 Pass than VBR 1 Pass or CBR?

    Hi,
    I had a 2 hour and 40 minute wedding on a Premiere Pro CS 5.5 Timeline. (I exported it as a QT Reference File from Final Cut Pro 7)
    I added my Encore Chapter markers in PPro and went File ----- Export ---- Media.
    Media Encoder opened and I set my settings the following way:
    H.264 Blu-Ray
    1440 x 1080 29.97 FPS
    PCM Audio
    Target Bit Rat = 18.5
    Max Bit Rate 20
    VBR 2 Pass
    When it first started encoding it said that it was going to take 8 hours.
    It has taken 14 Hours and it's finally finished.
    My question is,
    How much better is VBR 2 Pass than VBR 1 Pass or CBR?
    The first pass of this job took about 3 and a half hours. The last 11 hours was the full 2 Pass.
    Would VBR 1 Pass or CBR give a good enough quality as an H.264 Blu-Ray to give to clients.
    Thanks in advance
    Premiere Pro CS 5.5
    Media Encoder 5.5
    Encore 5
    Mac Pro
    10 GB RAM
    2.66 GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    Depends what you mean by "better". Multiple passes are done to reduce the file size (by more appropriate changes in bitrate for each moment in the footage). It's not designed to change the quality of the displayed frames, though it can have a small-but-noticeable quality effect on certain types of footage (e.g. a presentation that mixes static slides with high-motion video). If you can't see the difference in your footage, and you don't care about making the smallest possible file, VBR1 will get your clips done a lot faster.

  • Can i use my Corp discount to buy a phone and pay the balance after discount thru Edge?

    Can i use my Corp discount to buy a phone and pay the balance after discount thru Edge?
    Are Corporate discounts usable against the full purchase price of the phone?
    How does Corporate discount work on More Everything Edge.

    Ok so another question are you going to pay full price up front for the phone, use Edge or do it on a subsidy? Also which model since they vary in price from $650-$950.
    Line fees on a More Everything plan are typically $40 per line.As I said being on Edge or being off contract would reduce that by $25 if you have a 10 GB data plan as you state you would. The 10 GB data portion is $100 but since your discount is 26% it will only cost $74.
    So to keep this simple until I get more info from you if you still had all 3 lines under contract, 3 smartphone lines and 10 GB with a 26% discount would be $194 a month before taxes and fees.
    Since you have 2 lines currently of contract, if you kept using your current phones or paid full price upfront for new phones you'd have 2 month2month discounts of $25 so that would drop your bill to $144 before taxes/fees
    If you bought the cheapest iPhone 6 on Edge your Edge payment would be $32.50 a month for 20 months. So for two iPhones 6es( assuming you got the cheapest one ) that would be $65. That would on top of the $144. So a total of $209
