Movie and music did not transfer in sync....

The kids usually  purchase directly through iTunes on the computer but this time my daughter bought a movie and some music directly on her iPhone.   When she went to sync to iTunes, they did not transfer and are now not on her phone.   Any suggestions??

  • My purchased TV shows are on Apple TV, but my purchased Movies and Music is not, what gives?

My purchased TV shows are visible on Apple TV, but my purchased Movies and Music are not, what gives?
From Apple TV menu, I used to click on "Computer" and choose my laptop and I could watch TV, Movies, Photos, Music, whatever....
but now the "Computer" button incorrectly tells me that Home Sharing is turned off (which it isn't) and I can't find my purchased movies anywhere.  Plus, it appears that I can't listen to music without iTunes Match which costs $25 a year...  any advice out there?

I don't believe Apple is currently listing purchased movie content, like they do with TV episodes because of licensing restrictions.  Big Movies views that as a streaming service, and not purchased content, so it is licensed differently.
As to your Home Sharing, there has been no change there.  You can still Home Share your videos, photos, music from your computer that has Home Sharing turned on.  Keep in mind iTunes needs to be running on that computer at the same time.
Also, one in awhile my computer is on, but it does not show under Home Sharing on Apple TV. When this happens, I do a hard boot (unplug from power and plug back in) of the Apple TV, and also restart my computer.  Something happens once in awhile that it loses that connection. I haven't troubleshooted more than just doing a reboot.  Obviously there is a root cause, but it doesn't happen to me enough to worry about tracking it down.

  • I updated os on my iphone and itunes did not transfer my apps, what can i do?

I updated my iphone 4 to IOS 5, in the processs itunes asked me if i wanted to transfer my purchased apps to my iphone, I clicked on transfer, however itunes did not transfer the apps and removed them from my iphone. How can i recover the apps I purchased?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
For device connectivity issues see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, and TS4062: iTunes 10.5 and later: Troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi syncing.

  • My purchases, such as movies and music, are not showing up on my new laptop even though its the same account

I just got a new laptop and recently downloaded itunes. I logged on to my apple account, and everything was right except none of the movies and songs I had bought before getting this laptop show up in the library. I authoried my computer with my apple account, but still nothing showed up. What is wrong and how can I fix this?

    - You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.
    - If y wnat to switch syncing libraries/computer see:
go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
If all the synced media like music is in the iTunes library of the second computer it is very easy.

  • Movies and Music will not output sound on home receiver

Just hooked up Apple TV and got the wireless sync to work but why have a gadget that you cant use in suround sound? or even play at all on your stereo?. Funny that the apple never tells you in any manuals that this is a restriction or will have to wait until they upgrade their unit with decoders for gerneration 2 or 3?. Is there a way to get around this?. I cant get anything to play even in stereo mode. What's up that?. Suggestions?

Funny that the apple never tells you in any manuals that this is a restriction or will have to wait until they upgrade their unit with decoders for gerneration 2 or 3?.While Apple may not have been willing to repeated emphasize this weakness or the fact that AC3 has never been natively supported by QT, most experienced users were well aware of the problem as evidenced by the many complaints and discussions in the TV Pre-Release Forum. So this should not have come as a surprise.
Is there a way to get around this? Not in its current form.
I cant get anything to play even in stereo mode. What's up that?.How are you connected? HDMI to HDMI -- if so what TV and model? HDMI to DVI, if so did you remember to connect the PC Audio lines? Component to component -- did you connect either analog or optical line? If using an optical input to a digital receiver, did you remember to reprogram the line if required?

  • Playcounts and Ratings did not transfer over

I did a clean reinstall (HIGHLY recommended every new OS) and imported my iTunes files and preferences. However, my playcounts and ratings are missing. Anyone know which folder those are kept in? Thanks...

    Tux hello,
I'm not sure what you did when you say you imported your iTunes files and preferences...
The playcounts and ratings etc. are stored in the iTunes Library file in your iTunes folder... if you replace the current iTunes Library file with your backup and check that the name of the file is the same as one you are replacing... restart iTunes with a double/click on the backup copy of the iTunes Library file you put in the iTunes folder...
come back if you need to know more Tux .... TP

  • ITunes music files did not transfer afte rebooting OS software

    hi there
I had to reboot system 10.3 software- I was happy because I had everything backed up on a Lacie external drive that i had formatted as a bootable disk. So when my iBook came back from the repair shop with a new blank OS and asked me if I wanted to transfer files from another computer, I did, from the Lacie hard drive. Only my iTunes music did not transfer, and so far it seems like I have to import files one by one- I can not figure out how to import the whole lot of music files.
Additionally, all my other files, mostly Word, were imported with the "created on" date all set to 1970, for some reason. That is annoying; any ideas from anyone? Thank you very much

You transferred your library to your Mac a couple of years ago?
Or you have been using the Mac for a couple of years and just now transferred the library?

  • I bought song on my iphone and they did not show up on my computer

I bought music on my iphone and it did not transfer to my computer. Also the itunes on my computer will not let me purchase any music.

    Hi Chase!
Here's an article to download purchases directly onto other devices like your MacBook Pro after already purchasing them on a different device:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
You'd want to go to Apps, Books, Music, Movies, or TV shows on a computer, then whichever iTunes version you are using.
I've also linked this article in case you want to have new items download automatically:

  • Upgraded from PE9 to PE12: ratings did not transfer on organizer

Upgraded from PE9 to PE12 and the ratings and tags did not transfer to the organizer - or maybe they are there, but I do not know how find.
I also upgraded from Vista to Microsoft 7. Do I need to uninstall the Vista version and reinstall,  or is there a different solution?

Upgraded from PE9 to PE12 and the ratings and tags did not transfer to the organizer -
When you installed PSE12 and opened the organizer, you should have been asked to convert your catalog. That would have created a new catalog with the contents of your old catalog; that old catalog being still available to PSE9. If, instead of letting the conversion automatically take place, you have simply imported your pictures into the new empty PSE12, the tags and captions are not recovered (unless you specifically 'wrote metadata to files' in the PSE9 organizer).
Now, use the menu file/catalog (Ctrl Maj C) and click on the  'convert' button. Check the option to show already converted catalogs. You should see your PSE9 catalog and start the conversion.
