  • Movie Clips Actions Get Out Of Synch With Audio

My movie is five about minutes long with audio and an offscreen timeline move clip containing action script to control other movie clips or play the root directory.   After about a minute or so, movie clips get out-of-synch with the audio, apparently its getting bogged down.
My swf file doesn't seem that big, about 2.2MB and my move clips aren't that complex, although up to three levels deep.
My version is Flash 8 Professional and my laptop was on the high end about 18 months ago.
Am I missing something or expecting too much from Flash?
    Thanks,
Mike (who seems to know enough to be dangerous)

  • Why do my audio and video get out of synch?

No matter what sort of video I'm trying to play: Youtube, a movie on DVD, a movie on an external hard drive, etc, after a short time the audio and video get out of synch with each other.  This is often, though not always, signaled by a short audio phrase being repeated (eg: "I don't know, Scully, how about you? about you?").  I can solve the problem by quitting the app and starting it back up but it will eventually screw up again.
I'm using a MacBook running OS 10.6.8 with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory.

The first thing that we need to know are the properties of what you are putting on the Timeline. What works in another software does not necessarily work in Premiere Elements. Each program has its own supported formats.
    a. What is the file extension for this file? .MOV or .MP4?
    b. Does the iPad describe it as 1080p or 720p?
    c. If you open Premiere Elements 12 and go to Edit Menu/Project Settings/General, what do you see for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio, even if those field appear to be grayed out.
Two immediate troubleshooting avenues are going to be in the direction of...
    a. Project settings not set up to match the properties of the source from the iPad. Then we would start a new project and set the project setting manually before importing your video. Details for manually setting the project preset are in the following.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
    b. The iPad video being recorded with a variable frame rate instead of a constant one...the remedy then would probably be to take your video in a program like HandBrake to change the variable to a constant frame rate. And after that, import the corrected video into the Premiere Elements project which has the correct project preset (preferably set manual to assure the correct result).
Please see what you can put together in the way of video details, and we will sort this out.
    Thanks.

  • Audio & Video Out Of Synch after Editing

I edited a clip, and the audio went out of synch with the video. What did I do wrong? How do I fix it?
    Kate

    Kate,
Tell us more about this Clip. What format is it in? Be as specific as possible. AVI doesn't tell us enough. What CODEC is inside? G-Spot is a great freeware program for giving you that info www.headbands.com/gspot
How does it go out of sync, i.e. drifts from beginning until it's way out at the end, or starts out of sync in the beginning?
There are likely workarounds for getting it back into sync, but those methods will depend on your answers.
    Good luck,

  • Slideshow audio gets out of sync when exported to iDvd

I made a large slideshow for a 40th anniversary party. It has 244 images & 7 songs. It is 29 min 54 seconds long. When I view the slideshow in iPhoto it works fine & the last image ends right at the end of the last song.
When I exported it to iDvd, the audio gets out of sync with the video. By the end of the first song, the video is about 2 seconds ahead. By the end of the last image, the last song is cut of by about 30 to 45 seconds. I tried exporting the slideshow directly to iDvd. I also exported it as a large movie & it did the same thing.
    I'm using a 17" 1.67ghz powerbook with 1.5 gigs of ram.
    I'm using OS 10.4.2.
    I'm using iPhoto 5.0.4
    I'm using iDvd 5.0.1
The images are scanned tiffs. I also have jpegs that I shot with my canon eos digital rebel xt.
Anybody have any ideas or work-arounds?

I suggest you either use iDVD to create two slideshows or use iMovie to get all 277 images and the 8 audio tracks into one slideshow. If you use iMovie after you get the slideshow/movie put together and completed quit iMovie. Then go into the iMovie project package (Control-click and select Show Package Contents). The find your movie in the Shared Movies folder and drag it into an open iDVD menu. This allows iDVD to to the rendering of the stills and give you a sharper image. That movie file you're dragging is a reference movie so leave it where it is and just drag it into iDVD's window.
If you can live with two separate slideshow (consider it a potty break between the two) and you don't have or need the Ken Burns effect, you can get excellent results by building the slideshows with iDVD from imported stills. The sync to audio in this method works as advertised. I like to add a blank slide at the end of the slideshow so the music fades out during a blank, black slide.

  • I am having trouble playing MFX files in Premiere Pro CC. The audio is out of synch. Is there a way to monitor the audio correctly?

I am having trouble playing MFX files in Premiere Pro CC. The audio is out of synch. Is there a way to monitor the audio correctly?
    Many thanks

Chances are the pinnacle is producing .avi files or MPEFG1/2 streams - iTunes may know how to decode the audio but not the video. Download Handbrake and try running the Pinnacle files through it and adding to iTunes - use Universal format unless you have a specific device in mind.
    Keep copies of the originals.
Another option might be to try to install Perian.  Can't remember if the Apple MPEG2 plugin allows MPEG2 to be played in iTunes.

  • Importing 24p audio falls out of synch

    Hello,
I was just capturing two tapes of a musc video, using a panasonic GS500 to import, shot in 24p on a DVX100, and captured on the standard DV NTSC 48 kHz preset. When I watched my clips afterwards, I found that the audio falls out of synch in the longer clips. I don't understand why this has happened, because I thought the 24p was still recorded on the tape as DV NTSC but with a 3:2 pulldown effect on it. My question is how can I fix this importing problem so it doesn't fall out of synch again when I re-import?
    Thank You,
    Kyle

This can happen with long captures. Better Camera/deck seems to be key here.
For now, you could select the clips that drift and do a 'File'/Export as AIFF...48khz/16bit. Then re-link/replace the new audio with the original video files.
Recapturing in shorter clip length may avoid funky Aud Rates. Either way, you'll likely need to create new multi-clips and edit with those.
Within current multi-clip sequences, you can control-shift/drag left or right on an angle in the viewer to bring the sync back in line. This should only affect the angle/clip following a cut, and not the sync prior to a cut.
If you've already made many cuts througout the timeline, you could use the 'slip' tool on out of sync clips after you've collapsed the multiclip.
    Hope that helps,
    Kevan

  • Tape archive DV tape: the audio gets out of sync.

I have some trouble with FCPX working with my DV tapes and camera (via FW).
When importing a .dv file previously imported with iMovie FCPX crashes. When I convert the file to prores with mpegstreamclip it will import but with incorrect date info.
Now I have made a Tape Archive from within FCPX and I can import from there, but the audio gets out of sync at the end of the tape.
    Any suggestions?

  • My iPads get out of synch even though they're all on iCloud

I have 4 iPads. Pages documents updated on one device sometimes fail to be updated on others. Versions get out of synch. Sometimes I can force a synch by plugging a device into an A/C outlet. Not always. I don't see anything wrong in Settings; they are all set to "use iCloud drive". They are all connected to my wireless home network, going through an airport extreme. I'm connected to iCloud also on my MacBook, and the iCloud drive is visible and current.
I've get all devices updated to the latest operating system. The devices are of different generations, bought at different times. But iCloud recognizes them all.
Any ideas? Any additional information I should supply?

I don't know if this will do the trick, but it's a basic troubleshooting step for a lot of different issues that can arise.
Force an app to close in iOS - Apple Support
If an app isn’t responding, you can force it to close.
If an app is unresponsive and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch still reacts to button presses, you can force the app to close:
Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

  • Disk Image Audio Drifting Out of Synch

Hello, I've searched and can't find a relevant audio synch thread, although I've read several in the past.
    My issue:
I export from FCP a QT file that is perfectly in synch. However, once making a disk image in iDVD, it gets 1 or 2 frames out of synch towards the middle of a 75 min project.
I've ensured that all chapter markers are at least 3 seconds from any transition or keyframe, etc. I also have fully rendered all video 100% and mixed-down all audio. I also preloaded the "text" track in QT to try and head off the synch issue. I am exporting a sequence that has several sequences nested-in from an older (much larger) file. I've further edited, requiring up to 6 audio tracks, but only 2 video tracks. But, again the QT file is perfectly in synch. It only happens when making a Disk Image.
Why is iDVD disk image putting it out of synch? Any more thoughts, suggestions for settings in FCP, QT, or iDVD?

There was a similar issue in an earlier version of compressor to DVD Studio Pro.
You don't say which versions of softeare you are using but it might be related.
The issue was that when a movie was compressed with aif audio as the chosen output this resulted in a loss of sync as time went by on the DVD.
The problem was rectified in later versions of compressor and a workaround until the update was to select AC3 audio as the preferred compression method.
It may be that iDVD uses AIF audio to construct the DVD and is the source of your problem.

  • Digital Copy audio is out of synch

The audio on my digital copy movie starts ok but then becomes out of synch. I have to pause and restart to fix it.

I don't think it's a DVDSP problem from your description. I wonder if it's a compressor problem since everything is in sync on your FCP timeline but the problem shows up on export after going through compressor. (1) What happens if you export your project as a QT file (not self contained) and let DVDSP do the encoding? If that fixes the problem, I'd conclude it is indeed a compressor problem and I'd check that forum to see if anybody else is having a similar problem. (2) If the problem still exists, then maybe the problem is actually back in FCP. If that's the case, I'd use FCP rescue (see that forum to obtain this handy utility), repair permissions, and then see what happens. By the way, I'd repair permissions in any event- you never know when that's going to work!

  • PE3 - Audio & Video out of synch on imported VOB files

I have tried adding some footage imported from DVD & is saved in a folder on the PC (by the PE process).
The file is stored as VOB 1 & VOB 2. When I import this file into the PE project the first half plays OK. When it plays onto the second file, the audio is lagging behind the video by a considerable amount.
If I view the file separately (where it is stored) with Windows Media Player, it plays back fine.
When I view the file in PE in the preview window, the out of synch fault occurs.
Something is happening in the import process to the PE project.
Anyone, have any ideas on the problem?

Here is a reply that I posted to a past thread that will give you options for fixing the Out-of-Sync issues when trying to use VOB files within PE.
In all cases it is better to not import VOB directly to PE, but convert to DV-AVI via one of these methods and then use the AVI format.
The last bullet below sends you to a Muvipix link describing how to combine multiple VOB's from one disc to a single file, this will cure the Sync problem, then convert this file to DV-AVI for import to PE:
I take the min-DVD directly from camcorder to my PC, and capture the disk via Power Director.
PD will convert the VOB's directly to DV-AVI Type 2 on one pass.
    I then load this DV-AVI into PE7.
(PD v7 was pre-installed on my new PC from HP, or it can be purchased from Cyberlink).
    Other options to try:
Copy the VOB's directly from the mini-DVD to your PC and use Prism to convert these to AVI.
Prism is a free convert utility and can be found here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
Or load the VOB or Mpeg into PE, then use that to convert to AVI.
(Export to DV-AVI with PE8 is done with SHARE/PC, not Export under the File Menu, which is greyed out).
I've had many issues trying to work with Mpeg's and VOB's when loaded directly to PE with limited success.
So if you can get it converted successfully to AVI outside of PE, I've found this to be a better approach.
Post results, if any of this works for you...
Note: One other thing, if you are working directly with VOB's to PE, especially multiple VOB's from a single DVD, you can encounter out-of-sync issues between video and audio. If this occurs, review this link from Muvipix:

  • Audio & Video out of Synch

    Hi all,
I'm having a persistent problem with Quicktime movies being out of synch under windows XP. The movies are originally developed on OSX and and as soon as i bring them over to XP the fun starts. I'm guessing it's a hardware compatibility issue as i can find no other posts regarding this matter, if anybody could shed any light i would be extremely grateful.
    AMD Athlon X2 Processor
    Sapphire HD2600 Pro Grafix
    1GB Ram
I've tried Apple basic troubleshooting steps including disabling Direct X in QT and also switching to safe mode, i've also tried updating the ATI drivers and still no joy.
    Thanks in Advance

Calm please. I'm sorry I didn't include that info.
I am calm as a clam. You do not want to see me angry. Or sarcastic.
And just so you know, I've been using FCP since V1.2 and I've just now started seeing this with the current version I'm running.
I don't know you from a jar of Vick's VapoRub and I will not, I promise you, remember these bits on your next post. Neither will anyone else. If it's relevant, include it.
Anyway. I shoot with Cannon [sic] XL-1s on Sony MiniDV premium tape stock and capture using a Panasonic AG-DV2000 deck.
I have no idea what's causing this problem for you but I'd start there with a simple binary test. Take the same tape and capture from the Canon. Issue gone? then there's something about the way the Pano handles the Canon DV that your Macintosh doesn't like any more. I agree, very strange. And totally unacceptable. But there have always been weird and inexplicable discrepancies between Canon's and EVERYONE else's DV codecs. We shoot DVCAM with Sony and play on Sony decks. Seems to make ingestion simple and direct.
If the problem persists, then something Apple has encouraged you to download recently has bollixed the Canon codec's interpolation into Quicktime, once again, totally unacceptable. i just don't know what you will do about it except try to coordinate with other Canon camera users and put your concerns in the FCP Feedback box.
A good place to check and search for simliar issues will be creativecow.net and the LAFCPUG.
Hope you get it fixed, I know it must be exasperating.

  • Simple AUDIO & VIDEO OUT OF SYNCH

Lots of out of synch stuff out there, but all specialized.  Mine is SIMPLE.  COnnect a Canon Vixia HV40 HD DVD, do a capture, and audio and video are out of synch.  It starts fine, but as it goes it drifts away gradually.  I have NO IDEA what to do.  I am not an expert at this, just an ameteur who loves HD DVD.
It happens upon capture - not when buring to Blu Ray, not when converting WMD files to Torpedo or artillery or atomic or U Tube files, or any other fancy stuff.  It's not my brand of BVlu Ray disks, it's not the label I stick on it. I don't do - don't even know how to do fancy editing.
Just copy and burn is REALLY hard.
Just seems so strange that basic capture is so damn difficult and should be so simple - audio just will not line up with video.
    HELP!!
I have Win 7 64 Bit, al;l kinds of processor power, latest biggest hammer bought for video editing and gaming.  If you need specs I can send.

  • When Viewing Adobe Connect Training, why are Audio/Video out of synch

I am a new Captivate 5.5 user and I have been using the Adobe Connect Training material to come up to speed on the product. However, I have noticed that when viewing presentations in Connect, over time, the audio and video eventually are completely out of synch. What is being discussed (in the audio) has nothing to do with what is being shown on the screen. This happens on all Connect Training videos.  I have a high-speed Internet connection and I never have problems with streaming content from other sources such as YouTube, etc.  What am I doing wrong?

Dang, though it was worth a shot.
Now, one user here, Jim Simon, uses similar, and has worked out a percentage that he adjusts the remote mic's material to fit with his camera. Cannot recall exactly now, but it seems that he alters the Audio by a factor of about 104%. My memory is cloudy on the exact figure, and Jim seems to be on extended holiday. Not sure now, if he uses the Rate Stretch, or runs his mic's audio through Audition. Sorry that the memory is so fuzzy now.
Good luck, and maybe Jim will show up with his exact figures, to give you a starting point.
