Movie compilation

Hey, I have lots of music compliations, but I can't seem to do the same (iTunes Windows 11.0.0.163) with my movies.  Such as Schoolhouse Rock! disc 1 and 2.  I want 1 set of album art showing the 2 shows as tracks.  Can iTunes not handle this?  I've selected "part of a compilation" on both of them, set disc x of x for each, they have the same name (Schoolhouse Rock!), I've even added Album (Schoolhouse Rock!) and Grouping (Schoolhouse Rock!) to try to get them to combine.  This is really silly where you've got a whole season of a show like Walking Dead!  HELP!
Brett

Argh... that's disappointing.  What about movies like "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1/2" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1/2"?  We have to treat them as separate movies just because of Apple's lack of imagination?  Are even Star Wars... would much rather have the option to show them as episodes.  Thanks for the reply, though, I thought that was likely the answer.

    When you render a Pr sequence in the standalone version of AME, it actually loads Pr in the background to do the file parsing but in a special 'headless' mode that omits a bunch of stuff (e.g. the user interface classes). When an encoding job works in AME but fails in Pr, it strongly indicates a memory management bug is in play.
    I agree the 'unknown error' error is stupid, but some of the encoding class libraries simply don't tell their parent process why they stop. In the case of the H.264 DLL, it throws a low-level exception - a fatal error which isn't "translated" into a meaningful string to display to the user. In an ideal world, programmers should ensure that every exception handler they write has a translator, but that assumes they know the error is going to happen and they've bothered to wrap the offending code in a try-catch loop. If it's an out-of-the-blue fault such as divide-by-zero in the normal sequence of code, it just kills the process stone dead. In effect the parent process doesn't have a better idea what caused the error.
    The class responsible for the exception is usually recorded in the error log file - see Media Encoder Help | Working with log files - but to diagnose the cause Adobe needs a stack trace from the moment of failure, and AME doesn't save one.

  • Exporting HD Movie?

    I usually export my projects by going Share > Export Movie > HD. I exported it to a Quicktime movie once, then realized I needed to make some changes. I made those changes and tried to export it again (in HD) but the option was not available (I could not click it).
    How do I export the project again in HD?
    I am using iMovie 09, by the way.

    I have had the same issue after exporting and then trying to re-export at a later date. I have seen a few other unanswered issues for exporting in general. I cannot select any compile, export or otherwise change my finished project to a complete movie file.
    I have also got 0sec title pages and cross overs that I cannot delete - they don't show when playing back but are as icons in the project page.
    I also tried to play back my 7minute movie compilation in full screen and all I get is black screen that I cannot get out of without restarting my computer and loosing the last couple of edit steps. I am using the latest version of iMovie as computer is only 1 week old.

  • Movie Creator doesn't work after install

    I know many people are having this issue.  Installed Movie Creator from the Update Center app but when you open it the program just sits there on the main intro screen and you can't do anything with it.  Have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache nothing will work.  This issue is present on my Z2 and Z Ultra, both running latest completely stock firmware from Sony.  Has anyone found a way to fix this?

    I can see that you're missing some dots in the lower part of the app (indicating next steps).
    have you tried to swipe to the right and check if you can move on to the next step even if its not indicated in the app?
    Do you have several photos taken during the same period of time? If not do a test by taking several pictures and check if the movie application can find them and suggest a movie compilation for you.

  • Downloaded movie genres

    After downloading a movie from iTunes I change the genre to suit the location of where iwant it in iTunes. This works but eventually the movie will go back into its original genre but will show my edited genre when I go back into the movie info.
    An annoying example is that xmen is sci fi but x2 is action & adventure, I want my compilations in the same genre field.
    It's also very annoying when I have a mix of DVDs and iTunes downloads for the same movie compilations.
    I don't want to keep changing genres everytime, there should be a permament fix for this and as its my collection I want to file my movies as I see fit!

    Same exact issue here.

  • Netflix Cargo Movie (compression)

    I haven't had too many glitches on Netflix movies when streaming on my ATV.. maybe one Western with Clint Eastwood... but I noticed last night things seemed pretty bad with one movie in particular:  Cargo    Some sort of sci-fi thriller or something.
    In any case, if anyone is bored feel free to give it a shot, as I am curious if you see the same horrible colour-banding & compression artifacts, particularly on the CGI scenes. I suspect that the poor SGI rendering also happened to somehow get saved in a lossy format before recompiling the movie.
    Since this is very hard to believe a movie compilation could screw that up, so I am wondering if maybe it's an issue that got added in this way on NetFlix's end.  Those artifacts were quite noticable starting from the begining credits titles.

    LOL...well... I wasn't expecting much... just happened to earlier see a similar related movie so decided what the ****. I'm getting sick of the horror genre.
    Anyway, I'm doing some experiements with my setting options, I'll come back to it at a later time to see if there are any changes on my end.
    Too bad there wasn't a screen-shot feature for the ATV...

  • How do I create Blu Ray Disc with DVD Studio Pro ?

    Folks, I think that I'm in trouble... I created 3 HD projects with DSP (i do not have the tapes and fcp project anymore, neither the HDV 1080i mov file) and I need to be burned it with a Blu-Ray Media, and play it with a BR Player... So far I made the following steps:
    1-) In FCP, I exported some Quicktime Movies with HDV 1080i60 codec (movie with chapters, menu bg movie, extras).
    2-) In Compressor, I used the preset HD MPEG-2 19,0 MBPS for videos, and Dolby digital professional 2.0 for audios.
    3-) In DSP I created a HD DVD Project (DISC window, GENERAL tab, DVD STANDARD = HD DVD; DISC WINDOW, DISC/VOLUME tab, DISC MEDIA = BLUE LASER, LAYER OPTION = OTP) with movies, extras, menus...
    4-) In ADVANCE BURN (under FILE MENU) I chose BUILD.
    5-) Now I got a HVDVD_TS folder, with my movie compilation...
    NOW, my doubt is... The folder HVDVD_TS can be burned on a BR Media and be played on a BR Player ?
    If not, what can I do with my HVDVD_TS folders to be compatible with Blu Ray ?
    thanks a lot for any help.
    Best Regards
    Marcelo

    That can't be done. Get the tapes back and start over. Get the new Toast in the tutorial I posted to make a Blu ray disc.
    You could try this tool to demux the streams, transcode to QT then re-encode for Blu Ray but I wouldn't go that direction unless you know what your doing. You would also be encoding twice which is not good.
    Get the original source back and go the toast route from the start.

  • International characters in IOS filenames

    Hello,
    My movie compiles fine but when I add this file name to the package:
    ahí1.wav
    I get an applicationverificationfailed message when I try to send it to the device from flash cc
    if I rename it to:
    ahi1.wav
    It will work without failure.
    I've got hundreds of files that have international characters do I have to rename them all or is there a special flag, switch, or trick I can use to get around this?

    Stefan,
    It's good news that you are not having this problem, as it means that perhaps I won't shortly either. If we can characterize the differences between our setups, maybe I can have the same result as you do.
    I've just run the obvious case - I've created a file using TextEdit with a German name out on the volume from the Mac, stopped TextEdit, and successfully retrieved it. So it doesn't look like a filesystem mounting issue. I wonder what is so weird about these files. There must be something odd in the header, because it is definitely at the file info level that it is going off the rails. While the name is the obvious differentiator, maybe something else is odd as well.
    One thing I could try is to zip one of the directories affected on the Windows side and then try unzipping it into place there, then boot over to the Mac side and see if things have improved. If that doesn't resolve the problem, I could try unzipping it into place on the Mac side, but first I'll boot over to the Windows side and make sure it can read the file I just created in TextEdit from that end.
    By the way, the KB article you referenced was about shares and about problems with punctuation mounting Mac shares on Windows, so I don't think it pertains. In any case, I'm mounting a FAT volume, not a share, so the drivers would be completely different.
    Anyway, thank you for your help. Now that I'm no longer chasing phantoms, I can attend the real problem.
    Thanks,
    Ralph

  • Handling runtime errors

    We have an AS3 application made in Flash Builder that I would like to compile such that the script continues to execute after encountering a runtime error.
    We made a simple AS3 test movie and compiled it with Flash CS3 and then Flash Builder.
    The movie tries to evaluate a variable that does not exist, and then puts a yellow square on the stage.
    Here is the core of the code:
    if(this["d"] == 1){ } // this line throws a runtime error because d is not declared.
    var s:Sprite = new Sprite();
    s.graphics.beginFill(0xFFCC00);
    s.graphics.drawRect(0,0,200,200);
    addChild(s);
    In the movie compiled in CS3 (with this code in a frame on the timeline) the runtime error seems to be ignored - and the square appears.
    In the movie compiled in FB with this code wrapped in a simple Class, or if this class is used as the document class for a CS3 movie - then the resulting swf throws the runtime error and does not add the sprite to the stage.
    Here is the simple Class:
    package
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    public class ErrorTest extends MovieClip
    public function ErrorTest()
    if(this["d"] == 1){ } // this line throws a runtime error because d is not declared.
    var s:Sprite = new Sprite();
    s.graphics.beginFill(0xFFCC00);
    s.graphics.drawRect(0,0,200,200);
    addChild(s);
    Why does it ignore the error when I just publish this code on the timeline?
    How can we compile a swf that will emulate this behavior using class files?
    Does the timeline code extend a class that ignores runtime errors?
    We read this http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=11_Handling_er rors_03.html and it seems that the description in the documentation is inaccurate as is pointed out in the comment:
    The following statement regarding uncaught exceptions seems to be either inaccurate or misleading:
    "At run time, Flash Player ignores, by design, uncaught errors and tries to continue playing if the error doesn't stop the current SWF file"
    Script execution does NOT continue when hitting an error - even in a non-debug player.  Previous versions of AS/Flash Player used to continue.  For the non-debug Player, this is arguably a better approach as it prevents small errors from bringing down an entire block of script.
    Our experience confirms this.  Is there any way to globally specify that the application should continue on uncaught errors?
    We saw this class: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/fla sh/events/UncaughtErrorEvents.html
    It seems to be only available in 10.1 - which is higher than we would like to target.

    Thanks Anirudh,
    In Flash Builder, try doing
    if(this.hasOwnProperty("d") && this["d"] == 1){ }
    I was just throwing this error as an example of throwing an error, and not looking to fix it in particular.  We have a large and complex application which is used by many people.  Unfortunately, some of our users are experiencing runtime errors that are stopping the execution of the script - and we do not know exactly where those are.  They may be easy to fix once we can locate them. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reproduce them locally.
    If the flash player encounters an error in the constructor of the sprite/movieclip which is the main class, it will not be able to continue. If this error had occurred in an event handler, then you'd be able to continue.
    Can you tell us more about the rules of uncaught runtime error handling? For example: when I compile this code - the sprite is not shown on the stage and the second trace is not executed - despite having moved the code to an event handler function.
    package
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.events.TimerEvent;
    import flash.utils.Timer;
    import org.osmf.events.TimeEvent;
    public class ErrorTest extends MovieClip
    public function ErrorTest()
    var t:Timer = new Timer(100, 1);
    t.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, eventHandler);
    t.start();
    protected function eventHandler(e:Event):void {
    trace("1");
    if(this["d"] == 1){}
    trace("2");
    var s:Sprite = new Sprite();
    s.graphics.beginFill(0xFFCC00);
    s.graphics.drawRect(0,0,200,200);
    addChild(s);
    I'd like to publish our application such that it would ignore all run time errors. Are there any compiler or other options to achieve that.
    Ideally we'd like to collate the errors such that end users could open a hidden text field and copy the error messages and send them to us.

  • Can't load class 'mx.transitions.BroadcasterMX'

    I have a flash piece that I programmed last year in CS4 and now I had to change a little bit of the content, nothing code related, just modify an image. Now I'm using CS5 but when I try to publish the movie, I get an error: Can't load class or interface 'mx.transitions.BroadcasterMX' (I'm translating fom spanish)
    I have reduced the fla to the minimal expression. just a frame with the following AS:
    import mx.transitions.Tween;
    import mx.transitions.easing.*;
    new Tween(MCcore, "_y", None.easeNone, MCcore._y, 0, 2, true);
    stop();
    Where MCcore is just a square in the bottom of the screen that should move to the top.
    I've checked that BroadcasterMX is in the correct path of the hard drive and is not corrupted.
    I've tried with several publishing options from flash player 6 to flash player 10 but always the same error.
    As I said, the movie compiled correctly in CS4. What is going wrong?

    As I said, this movie was compiling correctly in Flash CS4 using ActionScript 2
    BroadcasterMX.as is called from Tween.as. If you have Flash installed in your machine you can go to your user files path and then to Adobe\Flash CS5\es_ES\Configuration\Classes\mx\transitions and you will find it there (maybe you have to replace es_ES by en_US or whatever your install language is)
    any other more helpful answer?
    Anyhow, I would be insterested in any other code that moves the clip from the bottom of the screen where it is to the top in two seconds while the rest of the movie keeps running. (the original code did more things and also moved the clip in the x coordinates and changed size and opacity, so there were 4 tweens and several other objects that also Tweened in and by the stage)

  • Device fonts on korean win98 and \u00a0

    I've created some movie to test display of some characters on

    Thank you.
    So, what the OP is actually trying to say is that his ID3 tags are mojibake. (Not that his Korean fonts are 'scrambled' or some files are 'unreadable'.)
    crystalchung worte:
    I tried the id3 tags and reverse unicode and the whole 9 yards.
    If the above is correct, what was that about, trying "the id3 tags and reverse unicode and the whole 9 yards"? You haven't even gone 9 inches, let alone 9 yards…
    IMHO, the best way to fix this is at the source. On Win, convert the ID3 tags in your Korean music files to ID3 v2.4 and their text encoding from CP 949 (presumably that's what they're in) to Unicode (UTF-8). If your media manager doesn't have this capability, get mp3tag.
    <http://mp3tag.de/>
    Here are some basic instructions
    <http://www.nixer.org/encoding-id3-tags-mp3>
    (Note that options in the most recent version of mp3tag may be slightly different; also, the author recommends ID3 v2.3/UTF-16. It's up to you; I prefer v2.4/UTF-8.)
    If you no longer have access to the PC, you can try to run mp3tag on your Mac in a compatibility layer (Wine), or a VM (eg, Parallels), or under Boot Camp. Look here for a Mac app-plus-integrated compatibility wrapper version of mp3tag.
    <http://vortexbox.org/threads/3251-Mac-OS-X-version-of-mp3tag>
    I've never used it, so I don't know how well it runs.
    Whatever option you choose, try it first on a couple of files and check if fixes the issue before processing all your files. And it's best to work on a copy of your music library, just in case anything goes wrong.

  • Setup TLF

    Hi,
    I downloaded the last build (437) of TLF and added the .swc file to the directory:
      C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\Common\Configuration\Components
    I have a test application in Flash 4 and as3 that was working with the previous
    version of TLF: now when I publish the movie, compiler writes this error in output panel:
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TextLayout is not defined.
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable ComponentShim is not defined.
    Thanks

    Now,
    I installed the Text Layout Flash Component.mxp
    and I have this error:
    EditManager (Compiled Clip), Line 1:
    5000: The class 'flashx.textLayout.edit.EditManager' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.

    V3 LOOKUP Reply (Call In ....) Error: NFS3ERR_NOENT  -   This is by design of OneFS, we coalesce files and then flush them out to disk which is why the commit time is accurate but the file is not immediately available. however when an async option is used within the mount options this should be avoided if writing asynchronously to the cluster.  Has anyone else seen this behavior lately? (current workaround is to store locally and transfer to the cluster via Finder)

    That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard.  FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs.  And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error.  I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check.  1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs?  2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".

    Hello.
    Im not sure if i should have posted in the hardware section.
    I have done some reaserch on this problem but haven't really got the solution.
    It doesnt matter what format i export it always gives me this error. With h264 and some else, its a bit different too.

    I downloaded and installed the Win7 codecs by Shark. Because...there are any other codecs available for win 7 ?
    Tell me if need any more info..which u probably do.
    If there are any better forums for this kind of problem then please tell me.
    I hope we can fix this prooblem.
    I think i haven't said my motherboard. Its P5E3 PRO. It has EPU engine and it turns off the hard drive when its idle...Premiere pro and all the sytem files are installed on my C drive which is like the main drive. On D drive i keep my music, downloads and stuff. I think it can turn of both drives then idle, but mostly it turns off D drive, I think. I have a new motherboard and i haven't got the hang of it how it shuts them down.
    But i think this really isnt a problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Serious hardware problems!
    Go for a fresh install of OS & programs, but be prepared to first check your disks with a utility from the drive manufacturer (WD and Samsung). You may need new disks.
    Great to include these details, but for readability I suggest you include these as an attachment instead of in the text. It may scare people off reading all that detail.
