Movie direct on DVD without leading theme

i would like to burn a .mov-movie directly on DVD without a theme lead. I would like to perform the film endless  on a exibition.
Thanks rudolf

Hi Rudolf
If I guess right You want
• a Self Starting DVD
• Auto looping DVD
Self Starting:
Open a new iDVD project
Change the view to out-line (small round button down under main window with three small boxes)
Drop movie into the now visibly top left most box.
This will now be an Auto-Starting DVD
Looping:
Top menu Row (Apple/iDVD/File/Edit etc ----> Advance
Down to Loop
Done
That it still get to Menu when Halted !
Hard to do anything about
You can select a very simple theme and change background picture to a Black Photo
Then it looks like nothing. But that's about the best one can do.
Yours Bengt W

  • What I can do to eliminate movies on my Mac without losing them?

I bought and downloaded movies on my MacBook Pro (Retina,13 inch, Mid 2014), but I lose space on the hard drive, what I can do to eliminate these movies on my Mac without losing them? Thank You

Some people delete files thinking they can re-download them in perpetuity.  This is a mistake and Apple itself warns against doing this.  An item can be removed without warning with from Store and may not be available for re-download.  Keep copies on local drives.

  • Burning a DVD without a Theme

"I recommend an autostart dvd where you drag and drop your QT movie to the top box while in map view and then set the movie to loop. That way it will play in kiosk mode w/o much user interaction other than inserting the Dvd."
Hi all, I am fairly new to IDVD, however this is exactly how I have used it twice in the past to burn a DVD from a presentation created in iMovie. Both times it worked without any problems. However, I just followed this same procedure for a new presentation. And the DVD ran just fine on my computer, on my TV, and on the receiving persons computer and TV also. It even ran just fine on the audio/visual equipment at the rehearsal for the presentation. But what a shocker when the disk was played for the actual event and the Travel Theme with the blaring clarinet started up. Luckily I was seated close to the media room and I asked the tech person to stop it. I also had the insight to bring a back copy that I had in my jacket pocket that worked just fine.
Anyway, to make long story short, can anyone give me a little insight as to what happen here. I have the DVD now, it works just fine. I also noticed a Theme is copied and burned at the beginning of each DVD, but there does seem to be any directory to it. Is this correct or am doing something wrong here
And just to be on the safe I did drop in some relate image and music into the Theme boxes for future presentations.

Apparently the autostart feature doesn't annihilate the underlying theme, but just overlays it. I can't explain why it sometimes pops up but other times doesn't. It seems like sometimes the DVD player doesn't read the auto start cue and goes right to the menu theme.
There are ways other than auto start to make an iDVD project without a theme. I usually just select a theme like Green Linen and drag a black clip into the main menu window, then delete any remaining buttons. You can add a title using a text box. Or you can create a "play movie" button if you want.

  • Making movie project in iDVD without a theme - still having trouble. help!

I am trying to make a movie in iDVD without a theme. I am following previous instructions but having a problem. I open up iDVD, create a new project. Pick a theme, then select the map view. When the screen opens I drag my movie into the first box which says "Drop content here to play....". I also loop the movie to play over. I am not able to move forward with burning a disc because there is a yellow triangle warning in the main theme box which says "menu contains no buttons". Nothing in HELP addresses this as far as I could find. Since I don't want to use menus and just want to burn my movie, how do I get around this problem. I finally decided to try and burn a disc anyway and iDVD quit during encoding process about half thru. Help....

Thanks Geoff - Your suggestion seems to be what I am looking for. However, halfway thru encoding/burning iDVD app quits on me. I don't know why that is happening??????

  • Burn DVD without a Theme

I have some digital video in iMovie that I would like to burn to a DVD but do not want a Theme or Menu. I know I can put video in the box above the theme which will autostart when I put the DVD in a player but I suspect the theme would come up after it. Is there any way to delete the theme/menu so I just have the movie on the DVD?
    Thanks,
    David

If you create a OneStep DVD your content will loop and you will never see a menu.
If you don't loop the content, a menu must and will be displayed after the content has been played.
This: http://homepage.mac.com/profpixel/AutostartDVD/autostart.htm is an approach I use.

  • Converting Premiere Movie to a DVD without Encore

I finished my movie and cannot seem to find a way to get this burned successfully to a DVD.  Encore did not download with my month purchase of premiere pro cc and when I open the creative cloud there is not additional options to download encore.  I have tried exporting the media to a MPEG-2 DVD file however, windows media player cannot seem to open that file and I have not been able to successfully burn it to a disc.  I just want to burn my movie to a DVD to play on the television - please help!

Another way is to go to
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/premiere
and click on the Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 in the dropdown shown in the attached image.
Then use the upper right link to download PrPro CS6, which should include Encore.

  • How to store movies on Apple TV without keeping them in the iTunes library

I'd like to know how I can store movies on the Apple TV without having to keep them in the iTunes library. I'd like to use the 160Gb of space on my Apple TV without having to use the same space on my nearly full MBP hard disk !
    Thanks in advance...

Ah! Of course... I wasn't even considering this b/c I'm one of these people who almost never has his computer off b/c I work from home and also do a lot of web surfing, etc. but obviously many many people have the computer shut off much more often than it is on.
So, alright. I see why the hard drive is there... it just seems so tempting for it to be able to be more of a stand alone device, more like another computer with iTunes on it rather than like a big iPod that sits under my TV. I guess I'll file that away in my tech wish list...

  • How can I get 20 different movies onto one dvd and have them play consecutively?

I am having a hard time converting all of the videos I've taken of my kids from my iphone onto a dvd. I would like the videos to play consecutively as if we were watching home movies from our regular video recorder. How can I convert my videos to one dvd?

If the total playing time for all of the videos is less than 120 minutes create a slideshow in iDVD and add the movies to it in the order you want them to play.  Select any slide duration time except manual.  Do not add any music to the slideshow as it will override the audio in the video files and do not add any transition as it won't be a smooth transition.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Burning a DVD without titles or themes, how?

I have taken a few of my old movies on VHS and using the Formac Studio DV I imported them into iMovie HD 6. Then I transferred the movie to iDVD 6 to burn to DVD, but I just want to do a straight burn and not have any themes or titles but cannot find a way to accomplish this.
I'm just looking to make an exact copy of the VHS movie onto a DVD without any fancy menus or chapter markers, etc. Is this possible?

This questions is asked repeatedly for some reason....personally, I like some of the themes....:)

  • How to make a DVD video with iDVD without using themes

How can I record my DVD without using iDVD themes. I do not care about the selections. I just want a simple slide show showing only photos.

    Hello puzzledbon,
Than you for the question.  You can make a OneStep DVD from a movie to avoid adding a theme to you DVD.  Before you can do that, you will have to create your slideshow and export it in iPhoto.
Use the steps in the section titled "Make a saved slideshow" in the following article to create a slideshow in iPhoto '11:
    iPhoto '11: Make a slideshow
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2333
Next, you will have to export the slideshow as a movie using the steps in this article:
    iPhoto '11: Export a slideshow
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2428
If you are using iPhoto '09, you can use the steps in this video to create and export your slideshow:
iPhoto '09: Create and Share a Slideshow
    http://support.apple.com/kb/vi14
Exporting the slideshow as a movie will give you a video file that you can use in conjunction with the steps in the following article to make a DVD without a theme:

  • How to view photo thumbnails directly from DVD?

Years after the event, I've got my hands on a DVD of photos from a wedding where I was the best man. Rather than import all 1500 images into iPhoto (do I even have room?!), I'd like to view thumbnails off the DVD, and choose a small selection to save and print.
Does iPhoto (or some other application) allow me to view images directly from DVD, without importing? The images are JPEGs in a hierarchy of directories.
    Thanks.

Preview will do this for you.

  • What will happen to my purchased movies/TV shows if iTunes removed them from the store?

I'm honestly sorry to bother you. I tried to google this and cloudn't find a good answer.
What will happen to my purchased movies/TV shows (that I haven't downloaded on my devices) if iTunes removed them from the store? Will I still be able to watch/download them from iCloud?
I'm trying to buy all my favourite movies and TV shows without downloading them, to keep them in iCloud that I can access from all my devices whenever I want, but I'm scared that iTunes will remove them from my iCloud if something happens to the contract between them and the production company. Should I worry about that?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it.
    Best,
    Faisal

Thank you for taking the time to explain this.
But the thing is, I don't want to download ANYTHING because I don't have storage. That's why I want to buy them and watch them through iCloud (on my Mac iTunes) without downloading.
I know that it's safer to download them. But does "safer" mean that iTunes might not let me access my purchases through iCloud?

  • Audio in movie burned to DVD missing or sporadic.

I have converted a movie to Quicktime using MPeG Streamclip; something I have done numerous times.  The converted movie plays fine with good audio on my iMac hard drive.  I want to simply burn the movie to a DVD (without turning it into a project).   But, after burning the movie to a DVD the audio only comes though sporadically and out of sync,  AND it seems the DVD does not want to respond to my "control".  Meaning, when I hit the stop button the DVD continues to play a bit before stopping.  I have burned a number of DVDs with this burner - succesfully I might add - and this is the first I have had this problem.  Is it possible the burner is failing or is there another problem I am missing?  Thanks!

Further to the above problem, I burned a DVD of the same movie in another machine and have the same problem with the playback. The sound plays only intermittantly.  Seems is may be a problem with the conversion of the movie but still hoping for feedback from the community.  Thanks.

  • How can i add videos, movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

how can i add videos, movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type.  The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support
"H.264 video: 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Baseline, Main, and High-Profile level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 Mbps, 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats"
    http://www.apple.com/ipod-nano/specs.html
(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes).  If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

  • Unable to burn movie to DVD without theme

I created a movie on iMovie and would like to create a DVD without any of the themes offered in iDVD. Don't know or unable to do so.
I finally settled on a theme with one drop zone. However, the trimmed clips I created in iMovie when dropped to the drop zone are untrimmed. I deleted the trimmed sections from the iMovie trash. Still it insists on transfering the whole silly clip. Don't have Quicktime Pro so can't do editing there. Any suggestions before I go crazy over this 4 minute movie!

If you have a copy of Toast 7 you can do it. Create your DVD in iDVD (or in Toast if you like) and save it as a disc image. Open the disc image then select the option in Toast to convert a DVD from a VIDEO_TS folder. You'll then find there's an option to burn the main feature only. Select that and burn a DVD. Worked fine the last time I tried it - when you put the DVD in your DVD player it'll automatically play the movie and stop when it gets to the end which, I think, is what you want to do. The only two downers are that (a) it's a two stage process and (b) you need to buy a copy of Toast. It's really silly that iDVD won't let you do this but then quite a lot about iDVD is silly anyway.
