Movie downloads but stays in temp folder with no artwork

I purchased the old classic Forrest Gump and watched it fully download. However when completed it showed up in movies but with no artwork and when i double clicked it could not locate the file and showed the '!' symbol. When i searched around i noticed the 'Dowbloads' folder inside the Itunes Media folder. Inside that was Forrest Gump.tmp folder with a download.m4v file which was indeed my movie which would play in itunes but with no artwork and no authorization for Apple TV.
I found a free movie today on itunes which downloaded just fine, placed itself where it should go, with artwork and working fine on the Apple TV..
Is it possible for there to be a currupted file on the itunes servers?
I accidently purchased Forrest Gump again and it did exactly the same thing. This morning it had moved itself to the right location but still artwork or authorization for apple TV
I got a responce from support saying they noticed the double purchase and would refund me but they still didn't listen or solve my problem.

The general method of use is to download the script to a folder of your choice, e.g. your Desktop, Downloads folder or create a folder at ...\iTunes\Scripts. Select a playlist or highlight some tracks in iTunes and then double-click on the script to execute it. If no specific tracks are selected the script will try to work with all tracks in the current playlist. Some scripts offer a choice of track by track confirmation of changes or fully automatic processing of the selection. Many of the scripts can optionally display a progress bar while running.
You are strongly advised to backup your entire library, or at the very least the iTunes Library.itl file, before use. Test the behaviour of your chosen script on a small group of files first to make sure it does what you want before applying it to large numbers of files.
Most builds of Windows will execute *.vbs scripts when you double-click them. If that doesn't happen then you might need to visit the Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features control panel to enable the Windows Scripting Host. I can track down details if you have issues.
Backing up and restoring data is an area that is often glossed over. Most people don't try to learn much about it until they've lost something important. (Me too )
If your iTunes library was in the usual layout then normally copying the whole iTunes folder from the User's Music folder in the old computer to the User's Music folder in the new one will usually work fine. Ideally this is done before iTunes is installed so that there is no empty library to replace, and all settings are picked up from the old library. This post contains more details.

I recommend purchasing lion on a USB drive at Apple Store. This will avoid all of the downloading hassles.
Also, be sure you clone your hard drive first. A lot of people want to go back to Snow Leopard and if you choose to do this cloning will make the process very easy.

It's just a view that shows you everything that's in your other albums and events in one place...

Downloads going to The "Temp" Folder

Hi! I've had this problem for a while now and now i want to fix it. I see other people have this problem too. When i download a file and open it dircetl, its saves in the Temp folder on my C drive(witch is an SSD) I don't want it there and i have not asked them to go there, I want it on my 2nd harddrive, Witch is where i got it set up to go. Is there any way to get files you open directly to go to the folder that you set? or is this impossible?
Troubleshooting Information Included.

Firefox immediately starts downloading the file in the background and saves the file to the temp folder and doesn't wait until you specify the name and the location (destination folder).
If the file stays in the temp folder then it is possible that your security software is blocking the file and prevents Firefox from moving the file to the specified destination folder.
You would have to change the TMP and TEMP environment variables to point to a location (X:\\temp) on that other drive.

Itunes Movie Downloaded but won't Play

I purchased a movie from iTunes, it has downloaded but it won't play. The title menu comes up but when you click on play nothing happens nor does anything happen my you click on different chapters. My Macbook is authorized.

Hello Hannah and anyone else who has this problem. I had the same issue and it was very annoying, because I was also told it was an authorization issue. So I deauthorized and reauthorized multiple times, restarted my computer, tried to play in SD instead of HD, set the settings to 32bit and all that. Sadly but fortunately it was just a small issue. Go to Finder, click on go to folder and type "/Users/Shared/SC Info"
Make sure you change the folder view to column view. You can do this by clicking the 3rd tab that looks like 4 rectangles side by side on the menu bar of that window. You will see a folder called SC Info. Trash that and restart your computer. Then... Deathorize and Re-Authorize your itunes and you will be good to go.

BTW AppleCare gave me this information. They were awesome because they continued to call me and update me on their efforts to solve the issue. The engineers ultimately figured it out and the customer care person called me and walked me through it.

My company blocks executables from running in the Temp folder. How can I install Firefox without it trying to run download.exe from a temp folder?

I found a workaround for the problem of not being able to run executables from the Temp folder.
I happened upon the Full Firefox installer download page. I downloaded the full installer and used WinRar to extract the downloaded file to a folder then I could run setup.exe and Firefox installed successfully.
Please publish the link to the full Firefox installer on the same page where the stub installer is published.

Rental movie downloaded but credit card didn't get through??

I tried to rent a movie today but after the download it didn't playback properly so I thought the copy was bad and have to download again. I delete the movie and report a problem on iTunes but then I now realized that was because my credit card was incorrect.
Is there anyway I can download the rented movie back on Apple TV? I corrected my credit card into and the transaction did went through but I still haven't watch the movie yet. Please help.

Apart from doing a Check for Downloads in either iTunes or AppleTV Settings menus, and hoping it pops up, there's not a lot you or anyone here can do.
You need to contact iTunes Store support using the Support pages in your country for iTunes Store, and then ask them to look into it either using a live chat if available or raising a support query which they'll respond to by e-mail.

Installed ssd on new macbook but getting a grey folder with a question mark?

Hi, I bought a new macbook pro, late 2011. Installed aftermarket SSD myself. Switched mac on and i get a question mark in a grey folder with a white background. I rang Apple and they said they mac cannot find the operating system.
Any help?

You have to install OS X on the SSD in order to use it. Start with:
Drive Preparation for Lion
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Once formatting is completed quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
The installation is done via the internet so you will need an active network connection which can be wired or wireless. The installation can take several hours.

Move/copy a pict, in another folder with history

i did found a way to do this so it can be seen as a wish list item,
i would like to be able to move a pic from a folder to another with history on it, let me explain.
suppose i work on a shoot serie of car into nature, and find a delicious natural spot, castle, forest, even portrait, whatever.
i import my car serie with all the images into ligthroom. in "mysupercarfolder" and see a pic who doesnt fit here, but i start tweak it, make it fun and pretty
i want to be able to move it into "mysupernaturalimagesfolder" with all the history of my modifications.
i'm missing something, or is that impossible ?

Movie Downloads but won't play

Dear Apple,
I love your product, you are the coolest company on the planet - but this all goes out the window when I try and watch a movie on iTunes.
You see, my wife and I love to watch movies, we have a nice fast broadband connection and we probably spend more than what our monthly sky subscription was.
But there is one problem: We download the movie, click play and start at a blank screen for half an hour. Well, normally just 5 or 10 mins before reloading, restarting, browsing the forums and generally getting so pi$$ed off that we want to murder the neighbour's whining dog with a flying macbook. This would surely be more fun than waiting for your stupid movie to start.
I notice on your forums that there are a lot of people with this same problem. There have been for a few YEARS now...
I wonder if you might consider how many people just like us who spend good money to rent your videos are leaving in their droves to watch illegally downloaded movies...
oh, hang on - my movie just started...
catch ya - can't press pause - it might take another hour to get going again.
I like Apple a little less each time I watch an iTunes movie...
