Movie has no picture or sound
I just bought star trek on blueray and it came with a digital copy of the movie.. which i downloaded to itunes.
I havent used this program for years.. but when i play the movie no picture or sound come up, but the timer is running like its playing something.
other than the cover and the chapter pictures i see no movies whatsoever
I've got a similar problem with downloaded movies. The timer runs, the chapters show up and the title of the movies but no audio or video. Contacted iTunes support where I got little to no support. Have done a clean removal and reinstall of iTunes and Quicktime but still nothing. I have a couple of older movies in my library that do play fine so problem seems to be in recent downloading? Corruption? Have tried 3 different downloaded and still nothing! paying for movies I can not watch is getting old fast!

the 9300 supports more media encoders than the old 9520. You can re-encode the video files you want to play on the 9520.
I suggest you use Handbrake on Windows/Linux, and reencode the video using MPEG4 video encoder and AC3 audio encoder, encapsulated into an MP4 file.

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ38 HD camera and have lots of hd movie clips stored on my old Windows Pc using Photofun software supplied by Panasonic, which I want to transfer to my new Imac computer. I am able to copy my most recent movies that are still on the memory card from my camera onto Imovie and view them with no problems at all. When it comes to copying my old existing hd movies stored on my Windows Pc (and which are no longer stored on a memory card), I discover that when I view them on the Imovie, the speed has doubled but the sound is normal. In order to transfer my old movies I have copied them back onto a memory card (SDHC - the same card as previously used) and then put the card back into my camera and then copied them onto my Imac via the camera USB. I have also used a card reader but get the same result. If I view the same movie through my camera, or look at it on my old pc, it plays at normal speed. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening please?

iM is a bit.. iffy, when it comes to the definition, what a 'camera' is. historically, only tape based machines were a movie-camera. nowadays still-cams allow movin' images too..
but, as mentioned above: the intended workflow is: material from photo cameras (even when they move) => import via iPhoto; material from video cameras (even when they don't move.. ) => iMovie
when the import is done, you'll notice in all iLife apps the 'media browser' - in iM09, on the very right, the icon with a camera on.. click it, presto, all (incl. your 'videos') your iPhoto Library at hand for usage in iMovie.

my idvd wont play sound in some parts of my i movie project, even though i can hear the sound in imovie. dont get it??? and at the end of my i movie i added pictures with music. it appears as tough there is some kind of ripple effect when i play in idvd??? i dont know why, i did not add anty effect.

Many companies with streaming services block video airplay so you just get audio - check the Amazon site as I don't use this service.
This is often down to usage restrictions imposed by the movie companies that make little sense to consumers.

For MacBookPro users, Leopard, please help. Suddently the sound froze. The icon on the top right hand bar doesn't move and there is no sound coming from my computer. It happened after I shut down my computer, which I do rarely, rather than put it to sleep. Please help.

Connecting a macbook to a tv: correct cables, still no picture or sound
I have the correct cables connected securely and I have no picture or sound displaying on the tv. The mac screen "blinks" once when I unplug the adapter, so it is aware that it is connected to something.
Current setup: 2010 13" Macbook--> Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter --> VGA Display cable --> Toshiba TV.
Also: Macbook--> Stereo Mini to RCA Y Cable --> TV.
If I hit system pref--> displays --> detect displays, nothing happens. The tv is showing its default "I have no dvd in me so I will do nothing" screen. I have tried changing the channel and input on the tv, restarting my computer, turning the TV on/off, unpluging and repluging cables, all to no avail. The tv plays dvds just fine and is otherwise in working order as far as I know. What's wrong here?Input button already tried. It doesn't do anything.
New thing: a display icon has now appeared on the top of the screen. I selected "turn on mirroring" which my television has blatantly ignored. No progress.
Also: guy at Best Buy seemed pretty sure that the RCA cable mentioned previously would do the job for sound, not that that is working either. -

You can't save a PDF directly to the photos app, but if you can open the PDF in the mail app and get the entire PDF to appear on the screen, take a screenshot of it and that will be saved to the photos app camera roll.
Hold down on the sleep button and the home button at the same time briefly until you see the white flash on the screen and hear the shutter sound. That's how to take a screenshot.
You should probably tap and hold down on the PDF in the mail app and select it to open in iBooks or another PDF app that you might have on the iPad. -
I am not able to play youtube videos. No picture no sound
I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

I have an original Ipad, I tired to update it, but during the update it gave me an error message (1602) an now it just has a picture of itunes and a ubs cord? Please help!!
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
I have bopped around the forums here for a while now, and while other people seem to have had the same problem as I am having in the past, I come to find that all of the solutions that have worked for others, do not in fact, work for me.
I am running Flash Professional CS6 On an Acer Aspire. 4 Gigs of RAM, 500 Gigs of HD.
The exact problem that I am having is as follows:
I record a sound bit in Audacity, Export the sound as and MP3 File on my main computer Hard Drive.
go to File>Import>Import to Library, I locate the file that I had created, then select it to be imported to my Library.
I then create a new layer in my timeline, Label it as sound, place a new key frame into the timeline layer at the place in the animation that i hope the sound would start, set the audio sync to stream instead of event, then press CTRL+ENTER, which initiates the Test Movie function.
At this time, the "Output" box Pops up and it states,
"Sound has no valid device sound path although exporting device sounds was requested in the export settings. This sound will be ignored."
No sound is played and i cannot, for the life of me, figure out why. I have tried all the troubleshoots that i can find online. I checked the publishing settings and nothing is being Overridden, I've attempted to untick the "export device sounds" option, but it is grayed out and cannot be toggled. I have attempted switching the MP3 format sound clip to a WAV format sound clip. I have attempted to re-recording the sound clip and re-importing the clip to the library. I have checked my computers speakers and everything is in working order and i have even checked to see if other projects sound works.
I pulled up a previous project that i had finished a while back that had loads of sound imported the exact same way and it all works exactly as i expect it too. The sound plays, there is not "Output" box claiming an issue. It seems that the issue, whatever it might be, is stuck to this project itself.
I have even started a new project, imported and placed both the MP3 and the WAV files into the sound layer created, CTRL+ENTER, and it works just fine without problem.
If there is anything that i might have accidentally messed up in this projected that you know about, like settings that may have been changed that would cause such an annoying and seemingly unfixable issue, please let me know. I really do not want to loose this project over such an utterly stupid error.I've moved your question to the Flash Pro CC forum.

No picture or sound on downloaded video from iTunes
I recently purchased a video from the iTunes store and I searched the forums for nearly an hour and couldn't find anything that helped. The file was rather large (2.18 GB). When it had "finished" it had an error mesage next to it "Network Connection Refused" or something along those lines. After that, it did not automatically load the videos into my "purchased" playlist. I had to manually track down the finished downloaded file on my hard drive. I added the file to my library in iTunes just fine, but if I try to play the video from iTunes (or after I loaded it onto my iPod for that matter)I just get a gray picture and no sound, yet the movie slider is showing the 3:07:55 and is moving as if a movie is playing. I haven't had any trouble with this in the past with music videos or podcasts or anything like that and I have sufficient space on my hard disk. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Dell Inspiron 1501 Windows XP LaptopI have all the drivers updated for Vista Business (I have switched from XP Pro to Vista Business since I posted). When I had XP Pro all my drivers were up to date as well. I have had several videos work from before. What was interesting though was that because the file was so large (2.17 GB) I had to let the computer sit overnight. When it finished though, there was a network error of some sorts, though it showed that the download had completed. I said "OK" and thought that it would put it into my purchases playlist, but it did not. I had to track down the file manually and imported myself, but what I get is a gray screen when trying to play in iTunes 7 and a black screen when on the iPod. The interesting thing though is that the slidebar for the time is moving with no picture or sound. I think there may be something I need to do to the file, but not quite sure. Any ideas? Thanks!

My iTunes library wont finish library update. How can I fix this?
