Movie I Downloaded is only Playing Sound Part...

I just got a 30 GB movie ipod for Christmas and was eager to try and download some movies. I downloaded the "Gnome" movie and now only the sound is playing on my ipod. While, the actual movie plays on itunes.
I noticed that the same thing happend to my national geographic video podcast. It played like 2 times and then would only play the sound part..

Using the Netflix Application when I move it from IPAD to TV it ONLY plays sound on the TV. In contrast movies or videos from the itunes library play correctly

I am assuming you photos are loaded into your ipad?? If so start by selecting the photo app & the album you wish to play. Select "slideshow" on the ipad, once it is started, tap the top right hand corner of the ipad and you will see the airplay symbol (like an envelope), tap it and select airplay & your photo's will display on the TV
(Make sure the TV and the apple airpaly device are switched on)

Step 1:
In troublshooting the problem you may follow the steps provided below.
a. Click Start, type Sound in the Start Search box.
b. Click Sound in the search results at the top of the Start menu.
c. Click the Playback tab. Notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users,the default device is speaker, change it to headphones. Make sure that your audio settings are configured as expected.
Step 2:
On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and make sure that the Default Format is set to the value that you expect. When you finish, close this window to return to the previous window.
Step 3:
On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Configure, and then make sure the configurations are set correctly.
Method 2:
If the issue persists then I suggest you to follow these below mentioned steps to mute all other sounds when windows detects any communications activity.
a. Click Start, type Sound in the Start Search box.
b. Click Sound in the search results at the top of the Start menu.
c. Click the Communications tab.
d. Click on the radio button according to your convenience, under When Windows detects communications activity.
After performing the above steps you may check for the issue.

HT5517 When im doing an airplay how come only audio no video on the TV? and its showing to my iphone this device can only play sounds to airplay!

what video are you trying to stream via airplay?
currently only video from youtube app or ipod app is supported.
any other app will only stream the audio.

Airplay only playing sound

I have an iPhone 4 and just got the new iPhone 5 today and on both devices, airplay is only playing sound when I try to mirror a youtube vidio from my iphones to my appleTV. When I set the iphone to mirror to my appletv, i get the message "this device can only play sound over airplay."
Any thoughts as to why?? Don't get it...

What an obnoxious reply. It sounds like you are completely confused by what I was suggesting, so let me try again ...
I had suggested using the Remote app on your iOS device -- not the slim remote control that came with your ATV. Using the Remote app on your iOS device is much easier than the ATV remote control, and using the iOS app is no harder (or slower) than navigating YouTube on your iOS device.
If you don't know what the Remote app is, then you're you're not only missing out on a great way to control your ATV, you're also showing your ignorance (or is it arrogance?)

Any Headphones I plug into my Macbook it only Plays sound out of the Left Earphone??

I got New headphones and after about a week i noticed when I plugged it in it only played sound out of the left headphone, i plugged it into my phone and I pod and it Played out of both, then I plugged in different headphones into my Macbook and had the same problmem. I took a thin cotton swab and a TINY bit of rubbing alcohal and cleaned it out, still didnt work. Any ideas would help thanks! Im in panic mode!!

First check the balance in the Sound System Preferences.
If that is set correct I would bring it in to an Apple store and have them take a look at it.

Can only play sound as root (Solved)

I have the same probelm and I'm trying to find out.

Audio out jack only plays sound in the right speaker.

Whenever I plug anything (speakers, earphones, etc.) into the Audio Output jack, it only plays sound through the right speaker/earphone. The left speaker/earphone hardly has any sound at all.
How should I go about fixing this problem?

my daughter has the ipod touch 4th generation and it started only having sound come out of the right speakers in both of my vehicles. I read also it could be a broken socket causing it. Do you know about this? How does one break a socket and how would I repair that? The person on y*hoo answers said to either send it to apple refurbished unit or replace it. Replace it? Really? It's a 64 GB ipod touch that I won at work with reward points which is the only reason I could afford it. Looking for better solution like your's above but I'm worried I will have to send it in. I was looking on my iphone 4 and noticed the volume balance was under Settings>General>Accessibility so I guess it's different on an ipod touch?

Do the Music and Videos app still play through the iPad's speakers ? If so then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. If the store in your country does allow it, try to download the song again, see this support article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise report a problem with your purchase. Sign into the iTunes Store and view your purchase history in your account section. Beside the recently bought song should be a link "Report a problem".

My A520 Speaker is only playing sound on the subwoofer and 2 other speakers i tried every thing I could, but cant seem to find the problem (win 8.1)

I think because your source is stereo that's why you are only hearing sound from 2 speakers and the subwoofer. You will need to enable virtual surround in your sound card to be able to get all the speakers playing I think.
You can do a speaker test by going to sound, playback devices and click on configure to test the channels in Windows.

Mov files only play sound

I wanted to send (email) a movie clip shot from an ipad 2 to our parents. When I open up the mov attachment on my pc I only get sound the video doesn't come in and is purple or green. The video will only open up in itunes, it also opens up and plays great on the device that created it (ipad 2). TS1424 some albums when downloaded only play partial parts of songs then skips to the next song how do i fix this?

i downloaded Korn the path of totality and the first 4 songs work the next 4-5 just plays 10-12 seconds of the song then skips to the next the last 4 songs seems to work. Also i downloaded Tyga- carless world and each song shows up twice on my iphone and it only plays a couple of the songs, it wont play some and skips to others ones it seems random, but it plays fine on my itunes on my computer.

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
