we just downloaded flightplan and it has english subtitles and is in a different language did i download it wrong or how do i change it?

i have a U.S. itunes account but i want to practice my german and french before going to europe this summer by watching some disney movies in those languages. Is that possible?? i'm curious to know why itunes doesnt have all of their content accessible no matter where your account is located. If I purchase a movie from itunes while in a different country, will i get the movie in that country's language? or can I change it to english/original movie language?

No. For example, here is one from the USA iTunes Store that is in French:
Check the language before you buy -- both for audio and subtitles -- and make sure you are getting what you want.

You can add movies from iphoto to itunes by dragging them from iphoto to itunes. You can convert any movies you need to by selecting them in itunes and choosing 'Create Apple TV Version from the advanced menu.
If you want to tell us more about your movies we can tell you whether you are likely to need a 3rd party converter or not. Open them in quicktime and See This

Different languages for movies?

Hi to everybody. I have ripped some movies with 2 audio tracks in different languages. There is any way in front row to choose which language you want to hear? Or do I have to encode the movie 2 times in different languages?

Is the option to select the language not in the DVD's menu? Or is the video not from a DVD? Since Front Row doesn't really have any controls, you can't make a choice without a DVD menu.

ITunes Movie Subtitles in different languages - unavailable

I think this would be a digital rights distribution issue, however my wife who's from Taiwan can rent or purchase a good 90% (from what I can tell) of the content we get on the Australian iTunes store, however there are three notable differences...
1) They get all the international content too - I admit, I would never really have preferred to listen to a song in a different language before meeting someone who spoke a different language, but even though my wife speaks Mandarin the iTunes store has Korean, Japanese, Cantonese, etc, plus English / western songs. Although I have found some of the international songs in the Australian store - but we get maybe 5% or less...again, just from my observation.
2) The Movies in the Australian iTunes store come with English Subtitles as standard, and sometimes with German and French. The same movie on the Taiwan store comes with subtitles for; english, french, hebrew, indonesian, malay, mandarin, russian, chinese (both simplified and traditional), thai, turkish, ukrainian, and vietnamese.
3) In Australia, we rent Tangled for $4.99 for the HD version, in Taiwan it's $2.85 for the same HD version
Needless to say, as far as costs go, the differences are huge across music and video clips too. $3.29 for a video clip in Australia, $1.07 for the same clip in Taiwan. Now, some might say it's scale of economies - however I disagree...afterall, the iPhone/ipad/mac's are about the same price here as they are in Taiwan (after money conversion), which makes them almost 3 times more expensive than we have to pay in Australia. I have no idea how they can afford tech over there. Anyway, I don't think Apple can discount the price of hardware - I don't know how much it costs to make an iPhone, but it seems like there's not loads of margin in it perhaps after paying for all the R&D and what-nots.
I also wouldn't think the Music industry is losing money selling tracks at the price they are in Taiwan, so that would just mean they're making an absolute killing in Australia and even the US - yes...it seems some Asian countries pay even less than what those in the US pay. (Call me maybe $2.19 AUS, $1.29 US, $0.70 Taiwan)
What's your thoughts?

Thanks, I left feedback...and I totally understand - what you've mentioned is nothing I haven't already heard before.
But as it was noted on the other thread you linked, this issue should've been resolved via electronic distribution (aside from media licensing), although it appears that I can't see a justification for an Asian country to have all the English content - if we can't get the other content too.
Actually, i'm not even bothered that we can't get Asian films and content, it's more surrounding the question of why the things like subtitles are stripped off our content when it might actually help people who live here to enjoy content available from a legal source. After all Australia is a multicultural hotpot.
By comparison, other Asian countries as used in my example really only have a few immigrants, but most are usually just understanding Asian languages.

How to use different languages in iDVD

I want to create a DVD with different languages or with an audio comment to be chosen. Is this possible?

If You want as an commercial DVD - NO - this function is not in iDVD
Can it be faked? - YES for small videos as iDVD is limiting in TIME not Gbs
So for as Single Layer DVD the limit is about 120 minutes (Pro-Quality Encoding and High Quality Encoding) and by keeping Menu as simple possibly this will be close to 118 minutes.
For a four language version then the max time per movie will be about 19 min 30 sec.
So the fake is made by making four individual movies one in each language and add all four to the DVD project.

User folders in different language!

I got some serious computer troubles some days ago that now seems to be fixed but my USER ACCOUNT folders (I mean Documents, Library, Movies, Music, Pictures, Public and Sites) are in a different language (It could be in spanish but now appears in english). I suspect that i moved or trashed some of the USER preferences. Can you help me to solve it, please? I'm losing my sanity :-/ Thanks so much!

Thanks Eric. I did it but it seems not to solve the problem. If I go to International, into the System Preferences, and change to other languages I get after reboot the logical results in the whole computer system, but my user folders remains fixed in ENGLISH no matter the language I chose.
If I try to rename the folders in spanish, like the rest of the system, I lose the icons and the MacOS wont recognize it as user folders :-/
Please, any other help?

Ipod nano 5th gen stopped working and now is in different language, wants a passcode

I was listening to a movie when it suddenly stopped. When I looked at the ipod it was in a different language and looking for a passcode. When I plugged it into a computer I got a"usb device not recognized" error message. I've hooked it up to 2 different computers using 2 different usb cables and I still get the same results.

Search for a solution over on Knowledge Base, call U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) and/or take a trip to your local Apple Store or AASP.
Another option is to check out the DIY iPod Repair website.

Download movies in italian language on iTunes living outbroad

Hello everyone. I'm Mattia, I'm italian but I live in France. I would like to buy movies from iTunes in Italian language but I can purchase movies only from iTunes France beacause my credit card works on a french circuit only and it doesn't work on iTunes Italia.
How can I download movies in Italian language from iTunes France? Is there any solution for this?

You can only buy content from your own country's store, so if you are in France then you can only buy from the French store. Some films might have multiple audio tracks on them - what language(s) a particular film is in should be listed on its description page in the store e.g.
If there is a particular film that you'd like the Italian version of then you can try requesting that it be added to the French store, but ultimately it's the film studio that will have to grant Apple a license to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

Whatdoes it mean when the project I open has a red screen with different languages,media off line?

I finished my movied. and then tried to move everything into a new file labeled TAJE files. Now when I try to open the last version of the movie, I get nothing but 2 of the title clips and then every clip is a red one with different languages saying something about media off line? I deleted old copies but thought that was ok?

Yes, if you have a completed DVD and just want to copy it then use disk burning software, not PRE. I use Nero and ImgBurn as my main burning applications - Nero is commercial, ImgBurn is free.
If you want to make extra copies over time you would be better to copy the VIDEO_TS folder from your DVD to your Hard Disk and then point ImgBurn at the folder.
For new projects requiring multiple DVDs to be burnt you would be better during Share to burn it to disk. Again, once it's there you can just point ImgBurn at it.

HT2371 everytime my apps need to be install .. it keep going to a different language when i keep it in english for everything .. and i dont understand why it have a different language when my default is english.. it only happen when the app want me to acc

for ex:
i go into family feud and when i sign into facebook it have a different language.. and my default is english .
it does that to every app i have.. and sometimes my browser is a diff language..knowing my ipod is english

Is this a problem with the computer or with the word processor? MS Word for example seems to think its grammar and spelling are better than mine - they are not. You have to go into MS Word preferences and uncheck all the useless "help" it wants to provide.

Dunning Letters in Different Language

Hi All,
Need help from your side. I have requirement that I need dunning letters in different language's. If we customer is from Germany the letter should be prininted in Geman language, If the customer is from Spain then it should have Spanish language, If Italy language is Italian.
So can any one guide me on same is there any config for this or how can I mange to do this.

Hi Kiran,
The forms are stored by language key. In each case, the print program selects the form in the language entered in the master record of the customer/vendor. If there is no form in this language, the default
language of the form is used, and the dunning program issues an error message in the dunning run log.
Pls enter language key DE/ES/IT in Customer master record (you can do it in tab 'Address'). Then, you will see that the dunning program prints the form in the requested language.
