Movie Maker Problems

Hello Microsoft! I am just reporting that when I downloaded Movie Maker from the official microsoft site, I did not get MovieMaker. wlsetup appeared and it downloaded windows essentials but that was not anywhere in my computer. I clicked start and searched
Movie Maker and Microsoft Essentials but nothing appeared. When I redownloaded the installer and installed, it said I already had the programs on my computer. I have checked everywhere, but there is no Movie Maker. I believe there may be a problem. Please

You can try few steps and check if it helps..
i) First make sure all windows updates are completed and there are no pending updates.
ii) Open HP Support Assistant from Start-->All Programs--> HP Help and Support. In HP Support Assitant click on
Maintain and check if there are any pending updates. If there are pending updates then complete all the updates.
Sometimes it could be due to display and audio drivers.. You can try updating the the display and audio drivers from here:

If none of the above helps then you can try uninstalling and reinstalling Movie maker from control panel.

If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

QuickTime 7 Upgrade and Windows Movie Maker v6 Audio Problem

Since ITunes up graded my quick time player to the latest version I can no longer add audio to my movies made on Windows Movie Maker version 6. The application crashes. Uninstalling Quick Time player seven and installing Quick Time Player 6 solves the problem but I loose the use of ITunes. I have included the crash information how do I correct this issue.

Custom install QT right from the system DVD (#1) that originally came w/your computer.
Your cam files can be redownload/reinstalled from where ever you originally got them from, CD/DVD or the manufacturer's website.
You did not provide your OS information nor the rest of the files that were deleted. Therefore, all I can tell you is that your "Apple" files can be redownloaded from the above mentioned DVD. Your 3rd party files can be reinstalled from their CD/DVD or from the vendor websites.

Problems with Movie Maker under Parallels.

Hello, I run Windows 7 on my iMAC via Parallells without any problems normally. It works e.g. fine to run the Windows Office programs. But I run into problems when I try to run Windows Movie Maker.
I get the instruction to run dxdiag.exe to verify my DDI-version.
And then I get the following message from Windows:
'"The file prl_umdd.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft Windows
Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You can maybe get a WHQL-signed file from the hardware supplyer."
Is this a wellknown problem among mac-users who run Windows via Parallels?
Any suggestion what I should do?

You should probably post your question on the Parallels or Windows forum as neither are Apple products and this is not a compatibility issue btween Mac OS and Windows, which is the focus of this forum'

Probleme bei Text avi.Datei Movie Maker nach Premiere 6 - Import.

Hallo alle zusammen,
spezielle Titel im Movie Maker aufgenommen, lassen sich als avi speichern auf DV Band ausspielen und am TV abspielen. Windows Player spielt die Titel auch im Computer anstandslos ab. Pinnacle Studio 8 hat teilweise Probleme beim Import.
Die Titel lassen sich in Premiere importieren. Sie lassen sich allerdings nicht im Monitorfenster oder Vorschaufenster abspielen. Keine Wiedergabe möglich. Je nach titel bewegt sich der Wiedergabe-Zeiger aber man sieht keinen Titel. Rendern hilft auch nicht.
Worin liegt der Fehler?
Der einzige Fehler den ich mir vorstellen kann ist "24 Bit Farbtiefe, bzw. je nach Titel 0 Bit Farbtiefe " (Anzeige bei Eigenschaften Premiere 6).
Bearbeitet und gespeichert wird alles im Digital Format *.avi
System: Win XP, Intel Pentium 4 Prozessor m. Hyperthreading,
Prozessortakt - 3.000 MHz Hauptspeicher - 512 MB, Bustakt - 800 MHz, Direkt X9,

How do I burn a DVD R disc with Windows Movie Maker? It indicates disc error on my DVD player. Someone thought it had something to do with Itunes? I reloaded Itunes 1 month ago and had no problem creating this disc then. Help

I have made several DVD+R discs in the past using Windows Live Movie Maker sucessfully. I made one about one month ago for my son's b-day. I am using the same discs as I had then. When I tried to burn the disc, it indicates that it is burning, however, when I insert it into the DVD player at home on our TV (like I"ve always done), it indicates disc error. Someone mentioned that the burner goes out every now and then when Itunes is uploaded? When I burn the disc, I can pull it up on my home and work computers, so I know that it is there.

Yes, you can distribute a burned disk of the project to those who can create duplicate disks. Or create a disk image of the iDVD project using the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
Then you can distribute the disk image to those who will burn the disks. For PCs you'll have to convert the .dmg file to a .iso file so they can burn it. This website describer how: Mac Help - Convert and Burn Mac .dmg or .img to .iso Windows PC-Compatible Disk Image
Suggest to them to burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
It would be prudent to rest your optical drive for about 30 minutes after burning 3 disks in a row. That will give the laser time to cool down before you start another batch.

Sync problems- Movie Maker

I just started using Movie Maker and started with a simple video, a background staying the same throughout the entire video (a solid picture just coppied and pasted throughout the entire thing, a music track layered on top of that and then I added lyrics
to go with the song via captions. When I export it any way the captions fall behind by like three seconds give or take, and I can't figure out why. Does someone know how to fix this? Or make it right?

Windows Vista Movie Maker and Itunes Music

I am asking for help and apologize if I am in the wrong area - we just purchased a computer and I need some help - we have an HP that came w/ Windows Vista. I am trying to make a movie on Windows Movie Maker and tried to import a song from Itunes that I purchased and it keeps coming up w/ an error about my system not having the codec. I have no idea what this means and need to know if I am doing something wrong. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated-I am trying to make a movie w/ my all my daughters pictures-she will be 1 this month-I know TMI, sorry. Thank you again

Well, there are two problems probably:
1. I'm not sure if Windows Movie Maker can use AAC format files, and all of the files you download through iTunes are in AAC format.
2. Even if Windows Movie Maker can use AAC format files (which I doubt it can), the AAC files through iTunes are DRM-encoded, which means they have copywrite protection which prevents their use outside of a specific set of iPods/iTunes.
If you want to use that particular song in your movie, it would be best to either find a source that is not copy-protected to download it from (notice I didn't suggest downloading it illegally ;>), or ... you can buy a CD with that song on it, and then rip it to MP3 to import into Windows Movie Maker.

hi I have a w520 with a quadro 1000m graphics card running on windows 7 - im trying to get windows moviemaker to work but keep getting the message saying that my system isn't equipped to do this - ive downloaded the nvidea driver updates and also windows 7 latest updates as well but to no avail - can anyone help ?

Hi I am having the same problem. We have regularly used windows movie maker to make videos and since yesterday we are unable to open the programme - we keep getting the message "windows movie maker can't start. Make sure your computer meets minimum requirements before trying to start WMM again and then try to update the driver for your video card if MM doesn't start". I have followed other threads regarding this problem, have uninstalled, re-installed WMM. Have updated drivers through Lenovo website. Have downloaded Graphics Media Accelerator Drivers from Intel all to no avail. Could somebody PLEASE help as soon as possible as my daughter has a film to make in less than 48 hours!!!! Thank you. Our computer is an H3 series - don't know if you need further info.

Windows Movie Maker 2 for Windows XP SP3 32 Bit

Hey Guys,
I'm having a small issue with Windows Movie Maker . I work for a school district and in the lab we have about 25 machines and I'd say over half of them are having this issue. The issue is that when you open up WMM - click on Import Pictures
and then go to the sample pictures directory and import any of the pictures into collections and then drag that into the Video time line. It doesn't show up in the video preview it's just a black window and when you click narration it gives me a "Class Not
Registered" error. Now, I've been doing some digging and a lot of people on different forums suggested to do a rundllsvr32 for a couple of dlls that fixed the class not registered issue for some people, but not for me. I even tried reinstalling WMM by going
into systemroot\inf and hitting install on moviemk and that didn't work either. Does anyone know what this problem could relate to ? Whether it's a matter of video drivers ( I have latest one ) or video codecs ? I did also try deleting all the video codecs
under Sound and Audio Devices too. So, if anyone knows anything about this that would be Highly Appreciated.

Windows Movie Maker - no sound on QT video clips

I'm trying to combine QuickTime video clips (downloaded from Casio camera) into one movie, using Windows Movie Maker (Vista). All the clips have sound when I open them in their folder but after importing the clips in to MovieMaker, there is no sound. How do I import these clips so that their sound is also there? I have no problem with other video clips, only those saved as QT.

Lenovo C560 with Windows 8.1 (16-gb RAM) will not successfully load Windows Movie Maker

I loaded Windows Movie Maker 12 with Windows Essentials. -This is exactly the same setup I am using on a HP desktop at work with Windows 8.1, but for some reason my C560 keeps giving me a "low memory" warning and will not load a AVI clip. -Worse, after trying... my whole computer gets glitchy and nothing seems to work properly until I shut it down, and restart it.
Quick recap on what I have tried. Upgraded from 6-gb to 16-gb of RAM. Increased the size of my Virtual Memory as much as it would let me. Nothing has made the slightest bit of difference.

If you have a flashlight available I would shine it into each of the USB ports to make sure all the contacts are aligned straight and to see there is no debris in the port that could be shorting out the data contacts.
Another thing to try is going into Windows Device Manager and uninstall the USB and then reboot the computer. When the computer restarts it will again install the USB ports. This procedure will make sure the operating system correctly has them installed.
If the USB ports are still not functioning I would recommend you contact Lenovo Support for warranty service. You can find the phone number for Lenovo Support in your country or area by using the link below....

How to stop audio from sputtering on Windows Live Movie Maker

I hope that I'm asking this in the right place. If not, if someone could direct me to the right place it would be greatly appreciated.
The video and audio in some of my videos are sputtering and spitting even though the sound is correct when I listen to them directly on the computer (not in MM.) If I split and delete all but a few seconds (:15 or so) off of the original video
it's "almost" okay in MM, but the longer the video, the bigger the problem. (More sputtering, longer pauses, video freezes but audio is fine, the whole thing is slow, etc...)
I have a combination of clips from an android (MP4) and iPhone (MOV) files that I am editing together.
I am using Windows 7 Professional and installed Movie Maker a few weeks ago. I can't tell which version I have, but assume it's the latest since I just downloaded it.
I've tried the FixIt link from some other suggestions in posts about the same problem, but it says there's nothing to fix. I don't understand what codec is.
Is there something simple I can do to smooth out the sound, or should I just use YouTube for the editing? (I plan to put this up on YouTube anyway.)
