Movie of the week trouble

The iTunes movie of the week is The Hurt Locker. It should be 99 cents to rent. When I go to rent it, the HD version is $4.99 and the SD version is $3.99. How do I get it for $0.99 and does it have to be the SD version or can I download the HD version?

Does anybody know how often does the Australian iTunes Store change their movie of the week selection? It seems more like a movie of the month or even more than that...
The US store makes changes to their features every Tuesday, how about Oz? Can anybody enlighten me..?

Don't hold your breath mate: no rules here.
Sometimes it's a week but more often it seems like 6-8 weeks they stick with one discounted title. ***** big time, but nothing you can do. I've e-mailed them several times but to no avail.

Why is the $.99 movie of the week $1.99?

Wanted to rent the $.99 movie of the week but when I get to the movie page with the rental and purchase options, the rental price is $1.99. If I rent it, will the price be adjusted in my account? Thanks

See if the HD version is 1.99 but the standard version is .99. That's my guess.

I think he is experiencing the same problem I've been having. When trying to download iTunes the page finishes loading without downloading anything.

Where can you see discount movies of the week listed?

supposedly these are already available in Canada but i can't see where the discounted movies are listed.

thanks... i see this on the US site but not on Canadian site. This is supposed to exist on the Canadian site as well. on the US site Ghost is the 99 cent movie but this movie is 3.99 in Canada?
maybe it hasn't come to Canada yet? an article i read said that it was already in US & Canada and was now coming to the UK... maybe the article was in error.

The newest operating system on the iPhone has successfully confused Iphone users access to iTunes for communication and account issues. That is a new flaw to repair. I rented a movie. "The house I live in" that was advertised as the .99 movie of the week and iTunes billed me 4.99. If I had known that they would charge me that I would not have rented the movie. I feel that iTunes misrepresented the price and I cannot find the iTunes customer service system to address this.

Where is the TV series of the week?

I am looking for the TV Series of the week, which I assume is 'The Revolution will be Televised' as mentioned in the iTunes Editor's Notes shown, for some obscure reason, under movie of the week, Babel. Does anyone know where to find the download?

Do a File/Get Info in iTunes and you'll see what I mean.
Each file (music or video) has a number of tags embedded in it. These cover things like name, artist, album, genre, etc.,
For videos, there's also one that says what type of video it is - Movie, Music Video or TV Show. That's how iTunes puts the video file in the correct category/section.
If that tag is missing, iTunes will include your video in the default Movies section.
When I rip - sorry convert - a DVD I own have have paid for, I use an application called Lostify (Google it) to add the correct tags.
But, my point is you don't need to worry about any of that. If you don't want your movies/tv shows on your iPod, then there's no need to add them to iTunes. Just put them in a sub-folder under your Movies folder for them to appear in Front Row.

No web site expert here but I would suggest changing the .m4v to .mp4 and ask one of those friends if they still have problems. .m4v is something I always associate with iTunes and don't really see it used elsewhere.

I am having trouble downloading a previously purchased movie from the Cloud.

The movie in question is "The Mist." I have purchased a lot of movies from iTunes lately, and to save room on my Mac, I have moved all the movie files onto a portable hard drive and simply deleted them from my Mac. Thus, whenever I want to watch a movie, I just transfer it from my hard drive back onto my Mac no problem, and watch the movie. Somehow, "The Mist" got deleted from my hard drive, so I figured "No worries, I'll just download it from the Cloud and get the file back. I've done it before!"
iTunes does this frustrating thing where even if you delete the video file from your computer, the movie thumbnail still shows up in your movies library, and I guess the Cloud considers this as you still having the movie on your computer, because when I went to my purchase history, it said the movie was already downloaded on my computer, when in fact it was not (it also said this for all my other movies, which are not on my computer but on my PHD). Only after I deleted the thumbnail for the movie did it show up under "Not on this computer" and allow me to hit the download button. Then I get this message saying "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 80 days." It will not let me download my previously purchased movie!
I have already tried logging out and back in again, that did nothing. Do I seriously have to wait 90 days to redownload my movie again? Like, is that a thing? What if you have a hard drive wipe, and have to redownload everything from the Cloud again; would you seriously only be able to redownload all your movies in 90 day incriments? What if I need to redownload multiple purchased movies at once, do I have to wait 90 days in between each one?
Am I the only one having this problem? If so, any help would be appreciated.
If this is not a "problem" and merely a "thing" iTunes does for security reasons, then this is a complaint. I have legally purchased this movie under the same account that I'm currently trying to redownload it through, I find it ridiculous that I should have to wait 90 days; you don't have to wait this long for downloading multiple apps/songs/books. Alternatively, trying to redownload the movie from its store page on iTunes is not an option, because as far as I can tell, iTunes does not let you redownload already purchased movies from their store page, as with apps/songs/books. If you try to re-purchase a movie, in the hopes that it will simply let you download it for free, seeing as how you've ALREADY purchased it, instead it'll gladly charge you again for movie. So no, I am not willing to purchase the movie again, I would just like to re-download it from the Cloud as I've done with other movies before it. I don't know what makes this one different.

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

Trouble downloading movies from the cloud to new pc computer (windows 8)

We just added our itunes account to a new computer and are trying to download our previously purchased movies from the cloud but they will not download. it keeps freezing. any suggestions?

Not able to download 'single of the week'---- why?

I live in Canada. Why is it that i can't dwnload the single of the week, in this case, Alex Cuba, .... which is supposed to be a single song given for free each week....?From what I can remember in the past, ....i tried downloading the single of the week before but it says i can't.Why is this?....
By the way, i tried to downloading the $19.99 apps for the ipod's touch but it also says i can't b/c the itunes is busy .... or is it b/c i am from canada and this is the real reason?.....anybody out there from canada that has these two troubles with itunes library purchasing//downloading?....

well. .... i finally got the single of the week downloaded by MGMT or whatever they are called but i really wanted that Alex Cuba free download but it never happened. And i got that ipod touch apps downloaded as well. It is weird that I can't get every free offer download as it is usually pretty good. Yes i am on a wireless router at home with my iMac but No problems with it at all......

Moving a GregorianCalendar to the first day of the week

I'm using a GregorianCalendar class in order to get the time stamp for the nearest Sunday's date.
here's what I'm trying to do:
1. get a timeStamp and set it into a date
Date startDate = new Date(startTime);2. create a new GregorianCalendar using the above date as the start time.
GregorianCalendar calendar = new GregorianCalendar((startDate.getYear()+1900),startDate.getMonth(),startDate.getDate());3. the tricky part: make sure the calnedar's date is set to Sunday, if the current date is on any day other then Sunday, I will have to move it back to the nearest Sunday. I'm trying to do this by using:
calendar.set(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK, 0); for some reason this does not work...
am I doing anything wrong here?

Tech Tip of the Week: Syncing Distribution Groups in Office 365

Having trouble getting your distribution groups to sync when migrating to Office 365?
We recently worked with a customer who had over 300 distribution groups that were not syncing to Office 365. Upon review, we noticed that the distribution groups did not have a Display Name.
Here are the steps we took in order to resolve the problem:
1. Open ADUC “Active Directory Users and Computers “On the top menu click on view and select Advanced Features.
2. Find the Distribution List that is not syncing to your Office 365 tenant > right click the Distribution List > select Properties > click on the attribute editor tab.
3. There are a couple attributes that must be filled out in order for it to Synchronize to Office 365.
Attributes: mail,
displayName – if they do not have any data, fill it in. Once completed click ok.
4. Open the MIISClient. This is located on your DIRSYNC Server. The default path is: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Online Directory Sync\SYNCBUS\Synchronization Service\UIShell\miisclient.exe”
5. Click on Metaverse Search > input the following:
Attribute: Mail
Operator: Contains
Value:
“Email Address of the DG”
6. Once filled in click on search > double click the search results > click on the connectors tab. Note: If
you only see SourceAD Management Agent, perform the following:
7. Click on Management Agents > Right click SourceAD > click on Run > click on Full Import Stage Only > click on ok.
8. Right click SourceAD > click on run > click on Full Sync > click on ok.
9. Right click TargetWebService > click on Run > click on Full Confirming Import Stage > click on ok.
10. Right click TargetWebService > click on Run > click on Full Confirming Sync > click on ok.
11. Right click TargetWebService > click on Run > click on Export > click on ok.
