Movie playback starts with pink screen

I'm queuing and playing movies with MediaPlayer
When a new movie starts playing for a split second the screen shows pink after which the movie starts playing normally.
This is very unwanted as I'm building a multimedia application that will be projected on a huge screen in a dark room. Having the screen flicker pink every half a minute is something i want to avoid if I can.
Does anyone have experience with this happening? Know how to avoid it?

IMac starts with fan, screen stays black

When attempting to start my iMac G5 (Ambient Light Sensor), fans come on but screen stays black. A couple minutes later, the fans rev up and run very quickly and loudly. This started happening when:
1. One day the screen showed a green question mark with a message indicating that the computer needed to be restarted in a box
2. Green lines were all across the screen
3. I forced it to shut down by holding down the power button
4. When I attempted to start it back up the fans started but the screen stayed black
5. After a couple of minutes, the fans revved up
This has been happening ever since. One time the computer started to the desktop but everything was frozen. I have reset the PMU, checked the diagnostic LEDs, reset the PRAM-basically everything suggested. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Strongly recommend that you update to OS 10.4.11. Your system info confirms you are still using the basic Tiger OS.

Starts with white screen and apple logo

After a software update (or during an update) my apple ipod touch does not start up any more.
It starts with the apple logo and after a while the screen turns white or blue and thats it.
Sometimes (after a reset) it starts looping apple logo , white screen, apple logo and so on.
Is not recognized in itunes.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

After install 2GB memory x2 , Macbook pro start with no screen

I just bought a pair of Transcend 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 memory, and put in my computer. after I installed on my MACBOOK PRO C2D 2.33Ghz, I start comuter with no screen at all, no sound, nothing.
Is there any way can fix the problem?

Qosmio F50-125 starts with black screen after an BIOS update

Hi
after instalation if new bios (v 2.0), computer sometimes starts with the black screen .
Even the first page that show press f2 to enter the bios is not shown.
Do you have somebody old version of the bios?
So I could try if it is the fault of it.

I think the old BIOS will not help you because the notebook would known that you are trying to update the BIOS to the older version and it would break up the procedure.
Furthermore the older BIOS is no available on the Toshiba European driver page.
I think just only a Toshiba ASP has got an older BIOS version.
Anyway, you said this happens sometimes.
This would mean that this issue doesnt persist always
Hmm. in such case I recommend settings the BIOS to the default settings and to update the display driver.

Dm1z starting with no screen... sometimes.

I have pavilion dm1 with the AMD A-450 processor. It has started to have trouble starting and waking up from sleep. when it starts sometimes the screen basically stays black, never posts anything not even when it first comes on. I know it is starting because I can plug in a TV and see that it has started. sometimes it will work as soon as it is restarted sometimes not. however once it starts without a screen it is done, the screen will not come back on until it is restarted. It is not like it flickers, it works 100% or not at all. I started turning it off, taking the battery and bottom cover off and poking around with the end of the screen cable that is accessible near the battery, this does seem to help and it often restarts with the screen after that, but it could be coincidence, who knows.
any ideas?

Welcome to the HP support forums and thank you for posting. So from what you are posting I take it when you boot up your LCD screen remains black and does not come on at all times. This is also hit and miss. One time you turn it on and nothing at all and if you restart then it will kick in.
This may be an issue with a loose connection or the actual video output to the lcd getting weak.

Now if you feel comfortable you can see into opening up the notebook and check to see if the LCD connection cable and connectors are in good shape. This can happen when a connector has worked its way loose or the cable itself has become chafed.
One thing I would check before anything is to make sure you have your system drivers up to date.

IOS app starts with black screen when compiled via ADT (Flex 4.6, AIR3.7)

I was using Flex 4.6 with AIR 3.1 in Flash Builder 4.6 on Windows 7. I used two build methods: 1) "Export Release Build" in Flash Builder during development and 2) the ADT toolchain on my build server.
For the ADT method I would create AIR intermediate files using:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\FlashBuilderC.exe" --launcher.suppressErrors -noSplash -application org.eclipse.ant.core.antRunner -data [PATH_TO_SOURCE] -file [PATH_TO_BUILD_XML] [PROJECT_NAME]
Where my build.xml looks like:

This procedure produced working iOS and Android apps as well.
I decided to upgrade AIR to version 3.7. I used the overlay proceedure described here (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/how-overlay-air-sdk-flex-sdk.html). I also updated the namespace in my project to reflect the new AIR version. Using "Export Release Build" in Flash Builder produces working copies of both the iOS and Android apps. Furthermore, the secondary method (used on my build server), produces both APK and IPA files without error. The APK works just fine but the IPA does not. When running the app on an Apple device, it starts up with a black screen and stays this way.
To summarize:
Flex 4.6, AIR 3.1: "Export Release Build" and ADT tool chain produce working APK and IPA files.
Flex 4.6, AIR 3.7 using overlay procedure: "Export Release Build" produces working APK and IPA files, ADT tool chain produces working APK file but IPA file loads black screen on Apple devices.
More notes:
I had made a back up of the "4.6.0" directory that holds the Flex and AIR SDK files. If I replace the overlayed Flex 4.6.0 SDK directory with the original (which contains AIR 3.1) and revert the namespace back to 3.1 in my project, everything goes back to normal and I get working apps via both methods described above.
Edit: I also should note that I've tried many other combinations of Flex and AIR (Flex 4.9.1 from Apache and AIR 3.5/3.6), which all produce the same issue. It seems that the overlay procedure breaks something for ADT with iOS specifically...
Edit 2: I also noticed that the IPA files output by methods 1 and 2 are slightly different. Opening these with 7-Zip I see that most of the files are the same, but some differ slightly in size (this was due to 'ipa-test' vs 'ipa-ad-hoc'). The odd thing is that in the IPA file that does not work (produced via the ADT method), the SWF file is named "swf3465180827438224920.tmp" while the SWF in the IPA that was created using "Export Release Build is named "[PROJECT_NAME].swf". It almost appears as though ADT fails to rename the temporary SWF file. I also realized that the "Export Release Build" method likely used '-target ipa-ad-hoc', so I tried this in the ADT method with the same result.
Any thoughts?

Thank you for your response. I have tried AIR 3.8 Beta and this did not correct the problem. I downloaded the AIR 3.7 SDK from http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/latest/AdobeAIRSDK.zip . I have also tried with the new compiler as well, with the same result.
To keep things simple, I've created a very lightweight example with which I see the issue. I've also been able to remove the Flash Builder step and reproduce the problem with mxmlc and adt only. Since the files are simple, I will just post them here.

Full screen playback as with 2nd screen blacked?

I've got two Apple displays hooked up to my G5, and unlike DVD Player, which automatically blacks the second screen when I enter full screen playback, Quicktime leaves the second screen unblacked- I'm hoping I can figure out a way to get Quicktime to black the second screen as with DVD Player? As opposed to simply dimming it (since the syst. prefs don't allow for complete dim-to-black) Any other users notice this as an issue? Obviously not a soul-crushing problem, but is kinda annoying...
Searched for previous posts on this topic, didn't see it posted already, which surprised me. But I don't see any settings in the Quicktime full screen playback settings that might address this.

TS2570 macbook air : start with grey screen... help !!!

I have a new macbook air (3 months old) and all the sudden when I start it I have a grey screen with a question mark. The relevant Apple support page doesn't take into consideration the fact that you can't put an install disk into a macbook air. Help !

Unfortunately, I had already tried this online recovery (it also works if you boot holding the option) but the utility program didn't offer me the possibility to repair (when I selected the disk, this option wasn't available. In fact, I couldn't choose any option at all for my disk).
I had just done the last system update proposed by Apple today. I never had any problem with a mac before and I am really in trouble in my work because of that. How can I try to save the most important files I was working on ? I am in Brazil so there is no Apple store available near my house.
I also have external hard disk, an imac and a macbook but I don't know if I can use any of them for that...

ATI 3870 fan noise; Blu-ray movie playback works with 3870.

Is there a better fan/heatsink for 3870? I just replaced my stock 7300GT with 3870 but fan noise is annoying and is louder than my Mac Pro system fans. Thanks.
I just like to share to everybody that 3870 works with Buffalo external USB Blu-ray(tested with Vista). My stock 7300GT will not playback Blu-ray movies because it's not HDCP compliant.

I just removed the fan off my x1900 and it's a joy to listen to now. Dead silent.
Here are some photos of how easy it was. Take off memory heat syncs, take off electric heat syncs, and then the fan off the chip. Wipe it with a tissue. Then take an eraser and rub until all residue is gone. Then just stick and peel the heat syncs where they fit.
The only trick was getting the clips to fit on the board. I had to take off the long metal piece that ran the length of the board so the clips could fit around it.
Anyway hope this helps someone out there.

Any known reason why bootcamp would start with black screen ?

I just got bootcamp installed on a brand new mac pro with two Apple displays.
I was able to start up my machine successfully with bootcamp (windows XP) and with mac OS.
I am able to run the bootcamp partition from VMware. However, recently, I have not beel able to boot into windows.
All I get is a black screen once the windows logo disappears.
Any idea why bootcamp suddenly refuses to boot with windows but has no problem doing so with CMware Fusion ?

You probably want to look through VMware Fusion about what is happening.

BootCamp is just a way to help format drive partitions. Beyond that, it adds HAL and Apple Services.
With Mac Pro, the ideal is to use Disk Utility and 2nd drive, partitioned as Master Boot Record.
Fusion and a BootCamp partition do make it more complicated. Fusion over writes graphic drivers - or did.
Windows Recovery Environment and Safe Mode would be first step.

It's rather unintuitive, but start a video playing and click the "shrink" icon in the on-screen control bar (right end, the two facing arrows) to reduce the playback from full screen down to a window. Then go to the View menu, select "video playback", and set it to "in iTunes Window" or "in separate window" as you prefer.

IMac starts with blank screen

Hello,
My iMac has been acting a little weird lately, until last night, when it got much worse. It's a 2009 iMac running Mavericks.
Every so often when I would turn it on, it would give the Apple chime and the screen would never come on, it would remain blank. I would try restarting a couple of times and it would typically fire right up, Apple chime and the screen would come to life. Last night, I was updating iTunes and a couple other things and my iMac restarted. Except that it did the blank screen thing on restart. Now, I can try restarting it for ten minutes before the screen actually comes to life, but when it does, it goes right back to trying to install updates. After the updates are done installing, the computer restarts itself... And the cycle continues.
It's pretty much stuck in a loop of start-update-restart-blank screen. It won't boot up correctly two consecutive times, no matter how many times I try.
Any advice?

Check System Preferences - Startup Disk and see if your internal HD is highlighted. If it is not please click it and then select restart.

Adobe AIR apps start with black screen on iOS 8

AIR apps that worked fine on iOS 7 now just show a black screen and are unresponsive after updating to iOS 8.
Is this a known issue? Has anyone found a solution yet?

Found a resolution- the apps were published with the AIR 3.4 SDK. Republished with the newest AIR 15 SDK and they work properly in iOS 8.

Satellite m505 problems with booting up programs after started with black screen

I went to start my laptop and after login to my profile, i was getting only a black screen. after restarting many times in both safe mode and regular, miracles i got it to long in correctly...
now the problem is my main program and a few others would not open up, again restarted computer several times and nothing is helping... so i uninstalled the program and attempted to re-install... new problem now it wont reinstall every time i try it opens windows installer and just sits there doing nothing....
help i just want to get my work done!!!!!

Try using clean boot.
How can I perform a clean startup of Windows 7 without my startup items to troubleshoot a problem?
