Movie quit playing twice

I just bought my Apple TV device, downloaded my first rental and twice during watching it, it quit working. There was a message on the TV screen about enabling home sharing, which of course was turned on or else I wouldn't been able to be watching it on my TV.  The first time this happened, it came back on just as suddenly after a few minutes.  The second time was near the end and I just gave up. Any ideas what the issue could be?  There was an error message on my PC: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working."  Related? Co-incidence?  I hope this isn't indicative of what future uses of the Apple TV brings.

Right I should have mentioned that, I do have stop() on the
animation and the mc that I generate an interface in is just 1
frame, which normally means it will run just once. (and if that was
the problem it would load a whole lot more times then twice, now it
loads twice and then it's done.)

I just downloaded a tv series.  Got through the first 3 shows.  When I started playing the 4th show, it turns off and goes back to the menu after just a minute into the show!  How can I get this show to play?  The season I purchased cost me $27, I would really like to get my money's worth!

    1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo.

I downloaded an HD movie onto my laptop from i-tunes.  It plays fine on my laptop, but when I plug in my HD projector, the movie quits.  When I unplug the projector, the movie starts again. I have never had a problem with projecting an itunes movie before this. Someone told me that i-tunes changed something so that movies can no longer be projected.  We have a home theatre and have watched movies this way quite regularly, so it would be a drag if Apple will prevent us from doing this in the future.

I don’t know about projection, but I’m unable to watch HD content in iTunes because my Apple 30-inch Cinema Display is not HDCP-compliant (which is part of an HD copy-protection scheme).
The other movies you’ve projected, were they HD as well? If not, it could be the same problem: your projector is not HDCP-compliant.

  • Ipad quite playing itunes movie

Has anyone rented a movie via itunes and had it quite playing after about an hour of watching the movie?

This has happened to me as well. I can't open up any sort of videos on my iPad.

  • IPod quit playing movies

I have been using the iPod fifth gen to play movies now for well over a month. Today it quit playing movies. Not just one, but all of them. They worked yesterday. I have checked the settings and everything seems normal. I even re-imported the movies and still they don't work. The movies play fine in iTunes. This also goes for video podcasts. Plays fine in iTunes but no go on the iPod. I am running version 1.2.3.

So, I reverted back to 1.2.1 and the iPod is still doing the same thing. I am beginning to think that an iPod was a mistake.
Only thing I can figure is that Steve didn't like the case I put on it and decided to somehow punish me. He did it to the iPhone users.
If someone has an idea of how to solve the problem, please let me know.

  • Songs playing twice on iphone & ipod

just downloaded some songs and transferred them to my iphone & ipod. i've noticed that some songs are playing twice even if the curved arrow on the side is not even highlighted, meaning its supposed to play just once and move to the next song. any input on this matter would be appreciated. tnx.

Double syncs can be a result of syncing via iCloud and iTunes both. It's one or the other.

  • .flv movie quits when viewing in web browser

I'm still having problems with my flash movies. I'm using the
.flv playback component in flash and when I preview my movie (an
.flv file) in flash it plays all the way through, but when I view
through a web browser the movie quits after 25 seconds (it's 30
seconds long). At 25 seconds in, the movie freezes (like when a DVD
movie freezes/messes up and the jumbled up boxes appear) and then
the movie quits even though it didn't have any problems loading.
I've encoded using Adobe Media Encoder 5 different times and
rerendered the movie from After Effects but am still having a
problem. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

The jquery is there to animate the marquee, so even without the JS file the div container should still be showing up right? Part of the video tutorial said to switch to "live view" to make sure one of the div containers was positioning correctly, and when I do this nothing happens. It works for the guy on the tutorial so I am not sure what I am doing differently. Since it is not working at this point I have not added the jQuery, should I just assume it is a JQuery problem and continue on? I just don't understand why it is showing up in design view but just a blank white page in live view.

  • Movie stopped playing back smoothly

I'm working on a movie that is presently about 19 gigs, using a new eMac (G4) at my job site. Have the latest version of Tiger OS. Everything up to date for iMovie HD. Playback has worked perfectly until this afternoon. Now frames drop so badly that it looks like a series of stills instead of a film. The audio works perfectly. I have done a lot of audio work- extracting tracks and dropping them elsewhere. Other than that, nothing unusual. I've rebooted, taken out clips, tried all sorts of things to find the culprit but to no avail. Now I am worried that the work is lost. Would appreciate any help you can give.
    Thanks

Mary, THANK YOU. Your solution did indeed help a lot. I had to boot up from my system disk to do the repair but there is a definite improvement. The movie now plays smooth enough for me to finish editing. It still drops frames but at least I get flow.
However, Apple, I would like to understand what causes this problem in the first place. It seems quite eccentric to have to repair permissions constantly when editing a film. And I am on a brand new eMac with very little on its hard drive other than the movie and some graphics applications that are closed when I edit. Here is the info on my machine:
    Machine Name:     eMac
    Machine Model:     PowerMac6,4
    CPU Type:     PowerPC G4 (1.2)
    Number Of CPUs:     1
    CPU Speed:     1.42 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):     512 KB
    Memory:     1 GB
    Bus Speed:     167 MHz
    Boot ROM Version:     4.9.2f1
I had planned to purchase a powerbook in the next few months but am now having second thoughts. Too expensive for something that needs constant tweeking unless I can find out what causes it. I know people who do not have this problem at all so what am I doing to cause it? C'mon, Apple, How about a tech note.

  • How do I stop movie  from playing when I leave frame?

    Hi,
I have designed a website using Flash and ActionScript 3. In
the portfolio page, I have TV commercial that are available to
play. What I need is 1) when the user leaves the TV ad page, I want
the tv commercial to quit playing (right now, it continues even
though the user has moved on to other pages). I am using the flv
playback component. My TV commercial are external flv file.
All of my pages are just individual frames in a main
timeline. Each page has a frame label.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me with this. I
have tried for weeks now, to solve this problem and I just don't
know enough actionscript or flash to figure it out.
    Thanks in Advance

Give your FLVPlayback component an instance name and then,
possibly from the navigation element that moves the user from that
    frame, tell that component instance to stop();
Without a more complete description of your movie's structure
its difficult to tell where, or in how many places, you should
    issue the stop() command.

  • ITunes movie purchase downloading twice

    Hello all;
I just purchased a movie on iTunes. The first time I clicked BUY, the system told me that it could not read my Apple account and to try a few minutes later. So I tried a little later but I clicked the BUY button again!
Is this why the movie is downloading twice? One HD version and one standard version?
Does this mean I will be charged twice? If so, will I get a refund?
Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

I do not believe that Real Player Plus can burn any videos purchased from the iTunes Store to video DVD. RP Plus can burn non-protected videos from iTunes, but not the copy-protected files from the iTunes Store. If you have yourself successfully burned videos from the iTunes Store to a vide DVD (one that plays in a standard DVD player) with Real Player Plus, I'm sure many of us would be interested in such confirmation, as it would indicate that Real has hacked Apple's DRM in some way.

  • Purchased and Rented movies not playing

recently any movies that i have downloded form itunes store or movies that i have previously downloaded haven't been playing back.
when i go to choose a movie itunes can see my movies are there but when i play them it comes up with a blank screen ( no audio or visual) and the timer counts down as if the movie is playing. This also happends with movie clips/video clips i steam from the store.
i have removed, repaird and reinstalled itunes 64bit about 6 times, downloaded quicktime and reinstalled it twice. Updated my drivers and made sure everything else was up to date, even did a system restore and still no luck.
i am running windows 8 pro 64bit but this problem has only happend with in the last 2 weeks and i have been running win8 since the start of the year.
    please help

I assume you mean, "I can't view either my purchased or rented movies on Apple TV"
The white screen indicates an authorisation issue, try restarting your tv and if that is unsuccessful, try de/re-authorising your itms account.

    Hi,
Already mentioned on the following post:
       http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/VGA-on-laptop-HDMI-on-TV-needs-connected/m-...
You need a CONVERTER, not ADAPTER The setup:
    The following list may help:
         http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/sis.html?_kw=HDMI+To+VGA+COMPONENT+Adaptor+A+V+Digital+Converter
Laptop (VGA) ---- Converter from VGA to HDMI ------ TV
You also need sound, you can buy a converter with sound OR connect sound directly from laptop to TV.

  • Hello there - I am sharing an iPhoto library across two accounts on the same computer - it works fine EXCEPT for Quicktime movies - they play on one account and claim I don't have the rights on the other - all permissions are on and ok?

Hello there - I am sharing an iPhoto library across two accounts on the same computer - it works fine EXCEPT for Quicktime movies - they play on one account and claim I don't have the rights on the other - all permissions are on and ok?

It should be in the Users/ Shared folder.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Note the option to check and repair Library Permissions

While watching an iTunes movie from my Apple TV, why does my movie stop playing at the 1 hour mark?  I'm assuming I have a setting causing this to happen, but I have no idea what setting needs to be changed.  Can someone help me?

It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.

  • How can I accurately move the play bar back exactly to where I need to re-listen to?

I'm not sure if this an OS, app, software or hardware question, and couldn't find a better place to post. Hope it's OK. Apologies if not.
When i need to re-listen or re-watch a few seconds on an online school lecture using Safari or a song in iTunes to lean a part on my guitar, the play bar always moves much farther back past where & what I want to hear again - forcing me to watch or listen to unwanted material waiting until the play bar gets back to the part I want. This extra time really adds up!.
Is it possible to move the play bar back (or forward) to the exact place I want?
If the file is on my computer, I open it in recording/editing software, which allows pinpoint accuracy. If the file is online only, I record it to my computer so I can open in my recording app. All needlessly time consuming.
But i cant do this on my iPad or iPhone and a finger on a touch screen trying to move a play bar is much worse than using a mouse or trackpad on a computer.
Can I move the play bar back or forward to exactly where I need it when using simple playback type software (like maybe using the arrow keys) with the same or close to placement accuracy of a recording/editing program?
    Thx!

    Ah.. yes I see now.
Yes I have my eye glued on the time but the slider doesn't work in sync with what I want.
Meaning. lets say I'm listening to a lecture audio and miss the last sentence, I hit pause at 1:14, and assume I need to review 5 seconds back and want to go to 1:09. I move the slider and it goes from 1:14 to 1:00. And I can't seem to get a smooth second by second relation going with the slider. Just jumps of time.
I can get back to 1:14 and when I try again it goes back to 1:00 which feels like there is a preconfigured minimum block of time that you can go back or move forward.
So what happens is I have to listen from 1:00. So instead of 5 seconds, with the time fidgetting with the slider, I've spent a bit of time. Multiply this over the course (no pun) of a 1.5 hr lecture and the time I spend with the lecture can easily double much of it wasted time, either trying to pinpoint the spot I want, or relistening to material that precedes the point in the track I want.
the only way I've gotten around this is to use a sound editor for audio tracks which has a fluid relationship between the slider and time so I can move back in time second by second.
I am at a loss for why the standard playback apps like QuickTime and Preview are so "clunky" and choppie and why they don't allow for a second by second review, that should be both slider and arrow key initiated.
I don't think I made my point clear at first. Is this better?
    Thanks,
    Steven
