Movie streaming yields black picture w/sound

Movies seem to load fine from my library, but don't stream properly. The screen is black, no image coming through though the sound plays fine.
Ideas anyone?

btw, I did not have this issue with v1.1

Hi.
So I decided to a class project, and found this supposedly great app.
I imported all the pictures, recorded the voices, and inserted the soundtrack via iMovie.
Then, once I clicked export and looked at the result, the first half of the product was just all black, with the sound
About a minute within the project (2 minutes total), than the images start appearing.
So basically, in the final product, the first half of my inserted pictures are all just gone, and is replaced with a black screen.
Did anybody else encounter this issue?

In that one I suggested updating to OS X 10.7.3. It fixes a lot of problems, admittedly none of yours specifically.
I understand your frustration but you should decide upon one thread or another. Since this one has more interest I suggest you stick with this one. Tracking two of them will only add to your headaches.

Streaming iCloud movie from iPad to Apple TV via AirPlay resulted no picture but sound.

I notice that movie (iTunes purchased) that store in my iPad 2 when AirPlay to Apple TV 3 everything fine but for iCloud movie streaming (iTunes purchased that store in iCloud), I only manage to get sound from Apple TV 3, no picture. Apple TV only displayed running time. This happen after Apple TV new updates few days ago. Before update, everything is fine.
I used iPad 2 to stream iCloud movies to Apple TV because the streaming is much faster than using Apple TV 3 own streaming which some times the buffer took quite some times to load.
And why on my iPad 2 which still running iOS 5.1.1 the AirPlay icon missing the Mirroring on/off icon. In AirPlay I can only choose iPad or Apple TV but without the Mirroring on/off icon.
If I AirPlay iTunes purchases movies (iCloud Streaming) to Apple TV, my Pioneer AV amp decode Dolby Digital 5.1 but if I connect using Apple Digital AV Adapter via HDMI into Pioneer AV amp, I only manage to get PCM Stereo track.
If the iTunes purchases movies have been downloaded and store on my iPad 2, then either AirPlay or using Apple Digital AV Adapter via HDMI, my Pioneer AV decode Dolby Digital 5.1
I planning to purchase Mac Mini for storage iTunes purchases movies and listening music plus some PC users. Should I ditch Apple TV or should I use both ?

That app has not been enabled for airplay, it is up to the developer to do so

TV@nywhere Master sound but only black picture.

I bought an TV@nywhere Master and i have a serios problem whit it. I can get sound out of it. Both on radio and the tv part. But i just get a black picture when trying to watch tv. But the tv channels sound good. Can you give my any pointers? I curently running the latest drivers for it. My comp has windows xp sp1 installed. My comp is an P4 2,4ghz 512 ram ati radeon 9600pro whit 3.6 catalyst drivers änd directx 9.0b.

Are you by chance running a dual-screen system (2 monitors)? I noticed that with my setup only my primary monitor would display the TV video. In the secondary screen - I would get a black screen and no sound.
Just a thought. Also, this might sound obvious, but make sure that your TV source is set to TV and not Composite or other. (not sure you would get any sound in this scenario, but since sound is piped through you line-in it may just be the case).

Movie has no picture or sound

I just bought star trek on blueray and it came with a digital copy of the movie.. which i downloaded to itunes.
I havent used this program for years.. but when i play the movie no picture or sound come up, but the timer is running like its playing something.
other than the cover and the chapter pictures i see no movies whatsoever

I've got a similar problem with downloaded movies. The timer runs, the chapters show up and the title of the movies but no audio or video. Contacted iTunes support where I got little to no support. Have done a clean removal and reinstall of iTunes and Quicktime but still nothing. I have a couple of older movies in my library that do play fine so problem seems to be in recent downloading? Corruption? Have tried 3 different downloaded and still nothing! paying for movies I can not watch is getting old fast!

Thanks!! but i been fixing now for 10 minute ago by restart my macbook pro. My case is it show normal with Intenal-speakers and nothing mark with red light or mult so i tried to restart that it working again

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Other than that, what version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

NX: Makes picture taking sound, but photo screen is completely black.

I've got awesome lighting in this room. And even if that wasn't true, I literally took a picture of the light, and it was still completely black. I mean.. It makes the picture taking sound, but the square the remains black. What in the world.. The light is constant green on the webcam. It's plugged in correctly, or so as far as know. I'm usually good with computer things.. But I think I'm going to take the dumb 6 year old blonde excuse for this one. Any ideas..

I have the same problem with NX Pro. After finallygetting it to work with my ancient Pentium 2, all programs (Creative software that came with the camera and also other 3rd party software, such as Watcher). All of the programs only show only complete black. I tried the camera on another machine and it worked just fine so it's a computer issue.
I've updated video card drivers, ann Windows 2000 updates from MS (currently have SP4). What I found out was that if the camera was plugged into the other USB port of my computer, Windows would crash to BSOD when starting any of the camera software. When moving it to another port, I no longer get crashes, but this annoying black screen. Could it be related to USB?

Up until 6 hours ago I was able to play youtube videos now I cant in firefox I have no problem playing them in google chrome or IE .But if I am in firefox all I get is a black screen no picture ,no sound, no bar at the bottom. Need suggestion

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

No picture or sound on downloaded video from iTunes

I recently purchased a video from the iTunes store and I searched the forums for nearly an hour and couldn't find anything that helped. The file was rather large (2.18 GB). When it had "finished" it had an error mesage next to it "Network Connection Refused" or something along those lines. After that, it did not automatically load the videos into my "purchased" playlist. I had to manually track down the finished downloaded file on my hard drive. I added the file to my library in iTunes just fine, but if I try to play the video from iTunes (or after I loaded it onto my iPod for that matter)I just get a gray picture and no sound, yet the movie slider is showing the 3:07:55 and is moving as if a movie is playing. I haven't had any trouble with this in the past with music videos or podcasts or anything like that and I have sufficient space on my hard disk. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Dell Inspiron 1501 Windows XP Laptop

I have all the drivers updated for Vista Business (I have switched from XP Pro to Vista Business since I posted). When I had XP Pro all my drivers were up to date as well. I have had several videos work from before. What was interesting though was that because the file was so large (2.17 GB) I had to let the computer sit overnight. When it finished though, there was a network error of some sorts, though it showed that the download had completed. I said "OK" and thought that it would put it into my purchases playlist, but it did not. I had to track down the file manually and imported myself, but what I get is a gray screen when trying to play in iTunes 7 and a black screen when on the iPod. The interesting thing though is that the slidebar for the time is moving with no picture or sound. I think there may be something I need to do to the file, but not quite sure. Any ideas? Thanks!

No picture but sound is there when try to watch anything on web

Just recently start experiencing problems with video content on my Mac Mini. When I try to watch certain videos or video clips on web, screen ( window) turns black or green, sound is there but no picture. Most clips on You tube I have no problem at all but, for example, when I tried to watch new iPad tutorial movie on Apple site sound is there but window is black. Tried all tricks with Quick Time Player, have updated Flip4Mac WMV plug in still nothing. What I do wrong?

Hello! Not 100 percent sure, however this is what I would do first. google flash uninstaller and then download the program to uninstall flash, then reinstall it. Also do an apple software update and make sure there is not anything that needs updating. See if you can't 'reset' your settings in quicktime to default. The flash thing I would try first however as its a big culprit...

Movie Plays in black

DVDSP can't create slug. You can either import a PICT file of a black image at the right dimensions and drop it right into your track in DVDSP, or you go back to FCP and create a few seconds of slug and encode it to MPEG2 and import it as usual.

I bought my Mac in august 2010. Yesterday i was watching a dvd, everything was ok, but after 40min the dvd just stopped. Nothing i did helped, so I tried to restart. Since then, when I put in a dvd, there are a lot of starting sounds, I hear some music from the dvd, then the screen goes totally black. After that; nothing. Is there anything I can do or is it broken?

I've got a similar problem: I had it working, but had terrible sound problems with various components (DVD etc). I updated my HK firmware and that seems to have fixed all the problems with the other components but create new ones with ATV2. I'm running HDMI 1.4 from the ATV2 to the HK 255 amp, and no matter what I try and do, I can't seem to get any picture OR sound...
Does anyone know of a solution?

32DT1U Flat Screen No Picture but sound

My Regza 37hl67, when powering up would blink the picture and then the screen goes black. The sound was fine. It's 6 years old, hanging on the wall and can be moved and tilted. This started 2 years ago, then went away, I don't know why. Now it started again yesterday, but finally came on after about 5 power down/up. Today blink the picture and then black. I went on the website and found a thread about a larger regza getting lines and finally shutting the picture down. One of the speculations was the panel was too heavy for the frame, and their solution was to adjust the frame. Then I noticed my tv was tilted down. I tilted it up, wiggled the frame a little and turned it on. Voila, picture came on and stayed on. Wierd fix.

I got some .h.264 QuickTime .mov files, they open up and usually show the first frame, then it is black, but the sound continues.
I've tried converting them to mp4 or other files from QuickTime player and that doesn't help.

Generally speaking, if the QT player cannot play the content, then QT apps or third party apps that rely on the embedded QT structure/components are usually unlikely to be able to convert them properly unless the issue is simply one of trying to play too much data on an old and underpowered system. Since you say they play correctly in VLC, try using VLC to convert or re-pack the data or try HandBrake for the conversion.
As to the original source of the problem, there is insufficient information to make any guesses at this time. For instance, QT applications do not normally like proprietary or "enhanced" versions of MPEG-4/AVC content which hybridize features/capabilities of higher profiles/levels in lower profile/level combinations.
