Movie trailer plays in french no language choice

the star trek trailer plays in french with no onscreen option to change language. Why?

The OEM Vista doesn't have language choice unless you use the Ultimate version, the language of the Vista is stated on the bottom of the laptop on the microsoft sticker.

On both my iPad Mini & iPhone 5S, several iTunes-purchased movies...which used to play just fine...are now playing in French--although English is selected.
Yet...on my Mac using iTunes...the same movies play in English.
On the iPad or iPhone...they resume playing where I left off...except in French.
This seems to be the case for both iCloud-based movies and videos downloaded to the iPad or iPhone.
Any ideas? How can English be specified for movie playback on the iPad & iPhone (running iOS 7.0.4)?

Yes; I guess I should have stated that I spent an ~hour researching, searching, trying to fiddle with various settings (of which there are very few) before submitting my question.
The subtitle pane (selected by tapping the icon you highlighted) allows for selecting subtitle language (at least on my iPad Mini and iPhone 5S)...not for selecting the audio language.

When I hit the play icon the little arrow thing goes all the way over to the end of the file and doesn't play at all. What gives?
Is this a minimum information puzzle? It is difficult to diagnose a problem long distance when you provide little or no information regarding what actions you are actually taking to export the data or which version of iPhoto you are using. Based on your latest description of how it doesn't work, my best guess is that you are exporting a single frame from your video clip rather than the "Original" file. This is easily checked by opening the file in QT and simply pressing the left/right arrow keys. If the file only contains a single frame, then your export work flow is at fault. Please select the "File > Original" (or similar) option in the export menu to export the entire file in whatever version of iPhoto you are using..

TS1717 iTunes freezes up only when I try to play a video or movie trailer

my iTunes has been performing perfectly...but all of a sudden today, my iTunes on my Windows 7 PC, completely freezes up ..but only when I try to play a video or movie trailer. Any tips?

Movie trailer or any other links in the quicktime player does not work

When I click on the movie trailer/Hot picks/Quick picks links on the player interface nothing happens. When I move the Mouse it changes to a hand showing the link is clickable.
Also when I click on the "Quicktime Website" or the "Quicktime Player Help" from the Help Menu, nothing happens.
When I go to any apple website and clicks on the sample trailer movies links, it is playing the trailer.
Anybody may please tell how to solve the problem.

Movies to play in a container

Hello
I hope someone can guide me in the right direction. I am
producing a cd in Flash.
I want my flash files to play inside of a container/frame.
The container will be viewed as a red bar at the top and bottom of
the flash, containing my play, pause buttons etc. The flash movie
will play inside of the red bars.
Can the container be a separate object object as I want the
heading to be maintained in the container, so that heading changes
will be updated on the container extending the flash movie
lifespan.
I also want to add a preloader which is built into the
container to let users know that the next movie is loading.
Can the container be built in flash or would I have to use a
scripting language?
My flash files currently run as external movies - is this ok
or would they need to be internal?
Can anyone help?

You could easily accomplish your goal in LiveStage Professional... but since you are writing here with this question I will assume you don't have this program (LiveStage's parent company, TotallyHip, went down the tubes a few years ago).
Which leaves us with an HTML solution (you could use the browser to launch the QuickTime Player instead of playing on a web page). You begin with the default movie and then a list of movies plays as defined by the code structure.
The following is the code frame work:
QTNEXTn="<Filename> T<Target>" or GOTOn
QTNEXT is the command.
n is an index number for your movie.
Filename is the name/pathway for your movie. If you put all your movies into one folder it would make the naming scheme easier.
Target should be "myself" which replaces the current running movie with the next one on the list (as opposed to opening in a new window or the QT Player).

Below shows the style of the code I used in an HTML Snippet in iWeb for the above example:

Note the last line of code... instead of a movie file reference there is a GOTO command, in this case "0" (zero) - which plays the opening default movie (index of 0) again and creates an infinite loop - or it could be any movie (number) in the index - or have a third movie play instead, etc. 255 files is the limit that can be sequenced.
Of course you would want to wrap the above code in an object tag so Windows users could view it.

I have this same problem. On the photo tab I used to have it checked for everything to sync. But it gets stuck on syncing the photos and doesnt complete. The events on my Mac stopped syncing to other devices as soon as I got a new ipad air. The events that were on iphoto at that time are the last to show on all other devices. When I am in photo tab i cant even select the events that havent synced because they are showing as a choice. But they are an event in iphoto on the Mac. Frustrated.

How do you get a movie to play without a menu

I've installed ilife 09 and it now says I'm using version 7.0.4 of IDVD. I've used version 6 for years, so much is new. However, I already created a fairly complex DVD in this version with my own background menu, buttoms, chapters, etc. That was in regular 4x3 format. It seemed pretty self-explanatory. I'm now trying to make a DVD that is 16x9 from a final cut pro file. I don't want any menu, just want the movie to play when it is inserted. I drag my movie to the "drag content here to play automatically" spot and I still get a menu. This should be pretty simple...right? What am I doing wrong?

I prepared the procedure back in iDVD 6 days and I just noticed that how you do some of those things have changed in the latest version. With iDVD 7.x you now need to bring up the Menu Info window (the 'i' button at the bottom left). You need to also deselect the 'Show drop zones and associated graphics' box in that window.
Note that you don't have to put any text in the DVD name or movie name fields.
I'll try to update my procedure in the next couple of days.

I Noticed that when watching the movie trailers from the apple home page, the vide will start and go a random amount of time and then restart. This happens over and over. Can anyone help?

I'm probably not describing these terms correctly but here goes. The progress bar starts and you can see the downloaded portion ahead of the actual time bar. I don't even hit start and once the downloaded section gets out far enough, the movie starts by itself. In the past if the actual time bar caught up with the downloaded portion it would just freeze until more had downloaded. Now I guess what's happening is if it gets too close, it just restarts? I tried what you said and paused the trailer until the whole trailer downloaded. When I did that, the trailer played through without restarting. Is there a setting to adjust this or am I just a victim of slow DSL?

How can I download movie trailer from Music Store for iPod?

Movie trailers are produced to attract audience to see the film, so there shouldn't be any coryright issues. But why is it that I cannot copy and paste or download movie trailers from Music Store onto my iTunes and iPod? If Apple puts it on the Music Store, it expects people want to transfer it to their iPod. Sometimes just could not understand what these people think!

Thanks ALpinaoman, I am afraid things (and life in the world of Apple) are not as simple as you described it. First of all, some movie trailers - when they are played - do not have a little drop down menu arrow to the far right. Secondly, after transferring (i.e. saving) the movie trailer onto the iTunes on my iMac, only a few can be updated onto the iPod, most can't. The error message on the iMac is: "Some of the videos in you iTunes library, including the video "breakfastonpluto.ref" were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. Click More Info to visit www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n301461 for more information on creating videos compatible with your iPod." What the xxxx is this ".ref" format? Why can't these stupid IT people sit down and agree on ONE format instead of MP4, MOV, AVi, WMV, asx etc etc etc.
I have used the video iPod for a month now and have all kinds of hurdles transferring video to the unit (easier for DVD, very difficult for VCD, got visual but no sound, etc etc). I have no idea how technically complex the whole thing was when I bought the iPod. I thought it was like recording your TV show on VCR which was low tech (well tech has advanced quite a bit since VCR was invented and tech was supposed to make life easier not more complicated). I guess I need to attend a one year training on computer engineering before I know how to use "user friendly" Apple products.

New Laptop, no language choice

I bought a Thinkpad T61 with windows Vista on it today. On installation I would normally have a language selection (dutch, french, english, german).
I suspect that the device has already been started in the store for whatever reason, only problem is that now, there is no possibility to change the windows interface to dutch. what can I do to get it installed correctly (haven't finished the first time boot yet)?

How do get a QuickTime movie to play?

I have a QuickTime movie on one of my web pages. It is located here: http://www.bagsnaggers.com/ourhistory.html
It seems to play fine on Macs, which I use and where I created it, but I have been looking at some Windows computers and it doesn't seem to play. I can get other QuickTime movies to play on them, so I know QuickTime is installed; other movies seem to open automatically and start to play. But on Windows machines, when I click my movie nothing happens. There's a little icon in the corner, but right-clicking, option-clicking, etc. does nothing. I have asked friends with Windows and QuickTime to see if they can play it, but no luck. Can anyone tell me how I should put the movie up on my page so that people who have Windows with QuickTime can play it? Many thanks for help.

If you encode the video for Flash, the most common format used on YouTube, then people will be able to view the video as long as they have Flash Player installed. Without Flash, they can't see YouTube videos, so there's still something that some people may have to install. More and more videos, particularly those intended for playback on iPhones, are using h.264, so you may just want to tell people that they need QuickTime 7 to play your videos. Your choice, of course.

Movie trailer page

Hello!
Has anyone used the new movie trailer page? I seems to be annoyingly slow to play the trailers. Prior to IOS5 the trailers would play almost immediately, now when I attempt to view a trailer it chews on it for a while and then either plays and stops to buffer several times or times out altogether saying I am not connected to the internet. all other connections work fine (netflix, you tube etc..) its particularly slow on the Avenger trailer

Just to save any more brain pain... I got it! Somehow (?) the quicktime object was turned off in 'add-ons'
No idea how I came across it but all is now sorted

How do you prevent the itunes trailers from playing in a different language when traveling abroad?

I am traveling in the Dominican Republic and I was looking to download a move, but I wanted to watch the trailer first. The trailer played well but in Spanish and I don't speak or understand Spanish. How do I change the setting so all trailers play in English? Does the same apply to what I download?
