Movie trailers on iPad 2

When I try to play movie trailers on my iPad2 from the "http://trailers.apple.com/" web page the trailer is displayed way down the page with the only the right half of the trailer visible on the left side of the screen.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Is there a fix?  I have tried resetting my iPad, but that made no difference.

Hey FlorentP75,
I found the following information about syncing SD versions to your iPad:
By default, when syncing video to iPad, iTunes will sync the HD version to iPad when available. You can only sync HD content purchased in 1080p to iPad (3rd generation). You need to download the 720p or SD version from iTunes in the Cloud to sync iPad 2 or earlier, iPhone 4S or earlier, iPod touch (4th generation or earlier), and iPod. Alternatively, you can download the videos directly to your device using iTunes in the Cloud.
If you prefer to sync SD video content to iPad:
With iPad connected to your computer, select it on the left side of the iTunes window.
Click the Summary Tab.
Scroll down to the Options section and select the checkbox for "Prefer standard definition videos."
Now when you sync videos to iPad, only SD versions will be synced.
To undo your change, simply repeat the above steps and uncheck the box next to "Prefer standard definition videos."

  • Cannot install "iTunes Movie Trailers App" on new iPad

    Hello all,
I just got the new iPad (3rd Gen.).
I am trying to install the iTunes Movie Trailer App (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-movie-trailers/id471966214?mt=8)
For some reason, after clicking the install icon, I get an error Pop-up screen that says "Action could not be completed".
I have installed plenty of other Apps with no issues at all.
Is this App only for U.S.  users (I am from Canada)?
I suspect it is something like this because my son also cannot install this App on his iPod touch.
    Any ideas?
    Christian

I am actually seing it in Canada.
Nevertheless, it should be able to say "Not available in your region" before I even get the possibility to download.
Like for example, if I go on the MTV website, I cannot view their videos, they give a proper message.
For sure they would be able to do the same in a more user-friendly message.
Another good example, go see this App for the BBC, first thing they say: Exclusive to the UK.

Simple, one line says it all.

  • Easiest way to get movie trailers to my Video ipod

What is the Easiest way to get movie trailers to my Video ipod like a podcast is that possible or do I have to down load each trailer.
    Thanks Brian

This is the "Apple way": Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
For anything else you'll need 3rd party software.

  • No option to purchase/download movie trailers

So I did the update to both itunes and my ipad last week and I love downloading various movie trailers to share with my friends. Now I see the price as free listed but there is no longer and option to download the movie trailers.
Even when I look at trailers that I downloaded a couple weeks ago the option to download them is gone.

    1. Try reset iPad
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo
    2. Sign out of iTunes & App Store and sign in again
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID>Sign out

  • I want to play a movie from my ipad on my tv, all hooked up and i get an error message that the tv isn't authorized to play it.

I Want to play a movie from my ipad, on a tv but get a tv not authorized message, how do you authorize a tv?

    I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section.  If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
In my iTune I have this, and I believe it is the default.

  • Can I stream the sd version of a purchased movie to my ipad

I have an iPad 2 fully updated. When I sync with the computer I have it set to prefer SD, but if I want to stream a movie from the cloud, it downloads the HD version since there seems to be no option in iOS, which takes up much more space and I find myself getting errors where it won't play because I don't have enough space on my iPad for a 4GB+ movie, but am okay with something under 2GB. Seems silly to have to have go through iTunes to download the SD version rather than just being able to play it through the Videos app. That just seems to defeat the purpose of having everything readily accessible in the cloud. Am I missing a setting or has Apple assumed everyone wants the highest resolution over space conservation?

When buying movies in Tunes you are given the choice to buy HD or SD.  Whatever format you buy is what you get. You don't get access to the other version when you buy one.
Downloading to iTunes makes it so iTunes can compress and adjust the movie for the iPad before syncing the movie. But downloading from the cloud only provides you with the movie version you bought originally. (Be it HD or SD)
Also iTunes and iCloud do not stream.  They simply download the entire movie to your device allowing you to play the movie as long as enough has downloaded.
Streaming plays the movie as it downloads, but you never get the full movie stored on your device as it removes watched portions as it downloads new ones.

But now I can't find the actual movie...I go to iTunes to purchases and view movies , to downloads and searched the title of the movie...I can see an icon of it and it is in a separate place from other purchases but it says downloaded in faded lettering. Where is it?
If you can't find the movie you downloaded on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, check inside your Videos App

I'm trying to watch a movie from my iPad on my tv with Hdmi  cable.  Do I need to do anything to the tv to make this work?

Not really. Using the correct Digital Av adapter and connecting the iPad to the Tv through one of its HDMI ports is all it takes. Of course making sure the correct input is selected in the Video source selection on the TV.

  • I rented a movie on my iPad but cannot move it to my computer to watch on tv via Apple tv. How do I transfer the rented movie to my computer?

I rented a movie on my iPad but cannot move it to my computer to watch on tv via Apple tv. How do I transfer the rented movie to my computer?

I just rented a movie from my iPad2 and tried to play it through my ATV2 with AirPlay and same problem.... This is absurd guys. Apple I know there are copyright hoops to jump through but come on!! The whole pitch behind AirPlay and AppleTV was to make it easy to watch my purchases on my TV no matter what device they were on. Now I've got to hold my iPad in front of my face to watch a movie for nearly 3 hours!! And when I go to the support site I have no option other than to send an email to billing, screw this. I've not bought a DVD since I purchased my ATV2 over a year ago but if you guys are gonna pull this crap then what incentive do I have to continue the use of something that may or may not work the way it was advertised.
By the way, this is the first time I've had this problem because I normally rent straight off the ATV or my computer, which by the way I was considering replacing my PC with an iPad but looks like you guys aren't ready for me to make that kind of a switch.
Don't tell us that a product will do XY and Z then put limits on Y sending to Z.
    FIX THIS!!!

I just redeemed a movie through iTunes, however, my computer says "the disk I'm trying to save to is full", which I'm assuming means my computer is full.  I tried to go on my iPad and just redeem the movie through that, but now it says the code has been redeemed, so I cant redeem it again.  How can I put this movie on my iPad or iCloud?

    Hello johnciti123,
Thank you for ordering a PlayStation Network currency card from Best Buy's eBay store.  I am sorry to hear of the trouble you have had with it when you recently attempted to use it.
While I recognize this may not be what you were hoping to hear, I regret to inform you that Best Buy is unable to support currency cards after they have been sold.  After we activate the cards for use we have no way to verify if or when they ever are, as this information is only available to the company for which the currency card is sold.  In this case that is Sony and PSN.  If there was anything that could be done, it would need to be from Sony.  In this case it sounds like they are likewise taking the stance that they cannot verify who was authorized to use the code so they do not provide support either.
I am sorry there is not something else we can do.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions in the future.
    Sincerely,
    Mike|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate

I was downloading a movie on my iPad and I stopped downloading it and I want to delete it and it won't. How do you delete it in the iTunes for iPad.

If you tap and hold down the icon - and the X does not appear on the icon - you will not be able to delete it without totally downloading it. Finish the download and then delete it.

  • HT1657 if i want to watch a movie on my ipad do i have to order the movie from itunes from my ipad or can i download it from my desktop then sync my ipad

i want to watch a rented movie on my ipad while I am travelling.  Do I have to download the movie from itunes from my ipad or do I access itunes from my desktop then just sync my ipad to watch the movie on my ipad?

Yes that is correct. However there is one slight difference with rented content, in that you need to transfer it to your iPad rather than simply sync. You can do this by selecting the rental in iTunes from the left hand side of the iTunes window and choosing the transfer option.
Yes it will be transferred to the video app on your iPad.
