Movie won't download, error 9006

Hi! I recently attempted to download 6 movies at one time. All were successful except for the last one, which will start to download and then say error 9006, check for purchases. I check for purchases and the same thing happens. This also happens when I click the resume download button. Can anyone help me to fix this problem, so that I can download the movie? Thanks!

everything and anything i tried wouldn't work until today when i wasn't even trying here's how you fix it.
With your internet connected go to tools
-go all the way down to internet options
-click on the security tab-go to custom level
there will be a list there enable anything that has to do with downloading
-right below the list it says reset custom settings
-in the drop down menu change it to Medium-low
then click reset. When you are done click on apply, this might take a miute. When it is done. Click Ok
If this doesn't work you can email me at [email protected]
-Hope it helps

I think you've linked to the wrong thread.
Generally speaking its a network issue when downloads fail to start or complete, in many but not all cases a restart is enough to get things working again.

  • Download error 9006, internet intermittent.

download error 9006.  internet intermittent. Tthis is normal for where we live, it just drops for a second and everytime it drops you have to start over with the download, is there a way to pickup where it dropped off?

traffic shaping prioritises "core" services, so web browsing and email are not affected.
P2P traffic and video sharing/downloading are the services that are often throttled (sometimes to the point where it's not usable).
all ISPs do this (even the ones that say they don't).
Sky's broadband services all do this expect for the 16MB Max LLU package which has no throttling or download limits (the 8MB services has shaping during peak times and a 40GB a month usage limit).
apple have no control over this and will give an error message that is relevant to the problem in question (ie problem downloading the file). it has no control over what throttling an ISP is doing and is unable to tell if throttling is the issue or not.

  • Download error 9006

    hi.
i was hoping someone might have some suggestions for a cure for this.
trying to rent a film, all fine and good. entered itunes account etc. but when i come to download i get an error. and when i goto the general/download menu. it repeatedly immediately comes up with "download error 9006".
i've tried switching it off and on again.
the wireless connection seems good. its managed to sync a few new photo's and home vid's from my pc just fine, and has performed a network connection test.
nothing seems to make any difference. and can't find anything sensible on the apple site.
its a 140gb model running software version 2.3.1 if this makes any difference.
    thanks
    alistair.

  • TS3694 Need help for ipad 3 download error 9006

Have downloaded Itunes app and iphone5 IOS 7 successfully.
Have installed IOS7 on Iphone 5 it works great.
After Iphone successful install I moved to my Ipad 3.
I get download error 9006 when connecting Ipad 3 in middle of the download.
    I have rebooted both Windows7 and Ipad3.
I have tried 3 times. I get the error.

Launch iTunes on your computer and see if you have available downloads. After you open iTunes, click on the apps tab on the left side under the Library heading. You will see a window with all of the apps that you have purchased. If there is a number next to the word apps - say the number 2 - that means you have available downloads. Look in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window and there should be a message sating 2 downloads available. Click on that to get to the next window and you may be able to finish downloading the stuck apps in there.
Do this first and then worry about deleting the apps from the iPad. I want you to see if you can finish downloading them in iTunes on your computer - then sync - then delete.
    This is step one.

  • Lync 2010 won't download - error says it requires Windows 7

    Lync 2010 won't download - error says it requires Windows 7 BUT I HAVE WINDOWS 7 !!
Very frustrating. After using Lync 2010 for the last year it did an auto-update and at first said it was missing a file. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and now am told that "Only windows XP3, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported. Please upgrade
your PC" But I DO have Windows 7.
Yes I know it's old. My new PC is sitting here waiting for me to change over but that can't happen for another month or so as I need more memory in it. In the meantime, I need to get my Lync 2010 working again.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
This was finally figured out by someone internal to my company, a Lync specialist. This is what the solution was (in I.T. speak - sorry, I'm not I.T.):
Resolution: Checked and found COE was configured to run on XP SP3 where the minimum requirement is SP3
He definitely was opening files and checking boxes way beyond my simple "uninstall" and "reinstall".
    Thanks!

  • ITunes Store movie won't download it says error movie can't download right now try again later

It just won't download it have enough room for it

    Hello, emmanuel1122.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try closing down iTunes and restarting it.  Once this is down attempt to resume the interrupted download.  If this is a purchased movie, try canceling the download and download it again via your past purchases.  If the issue persists, you may need to troubleshoot the connection to the iTunes Store.

  • Movie Won't Download - No Error Message - Just Starts Telling Me It'll Be 1000s of Hours

I actually have this same issue from my iPhone. I didn't know until tonight. After several fruitless emails to Apple support, I removed all my pictures and videos on my iPhone to make room for the movie I bought and after downloading 4.8mb the issue started there too. Here's the initial issue:
I am running Itunes on my PC Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, running service pac 3. It's a Dell Inspiron 1011, Intel Atom, CPU N270 @1.60Ghz, 0.99 GB of Ram. I have broadband internet with a download speed (according to speedtest.net) of 6.11mbps.
I purchased The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in SD one night before bed and in the morning (roughly 8 hours later), it had completely downloaded the extras, but the movie itself only downloaded 250kb and told me it had 261 hours remaining to download. However after watching it for a minute or so, one moment it told me it had 50 hrs to go then as many as 600, when I checked a few minutes later, it said 126 hrs remaining and went as high as 64,000 hrs remaining. I'd really love to be able to watch this movie in iTunes on one of my devices. I have another $30 on account that I'd love to use.
    Assistance would be greatly appreciated,
    Geno Allen

Thanks again - I've had limited success with this.
Erasing the iPod disk (which, for any other luddites who worry like me, does not delete the OS - just the music data) meant that iTunes could finally find the iPod and restore it. It started syncing and all appeared well...
...until, that is, the sync finishes and you hit disconnect. The iPod ejects from iTunes, and shows the 'OK to disconnect' screen with the usual white progress bar.
When the disconnect progress bar is full, the iPod resets itself, and afterwards has no accessible content on it (0KB free under 'settings'). Which is odd, as when you reconnect it iTunes it syncs OK, as if nothing were wrong (the capacity and disk usage is shown correctly).
I've tried restoring again since and the pattern happens routinely. It doesn't matter if it's left plugged in during the 'ok to disconnect' screen or unplugged - it resets itself all the same.
I suspect this is heading towards 'terminal' status but am all ears if there are any other potential solutions!
    Nick

  • Movie Won't Download from iTunes on iPad

I recently purchased two movies from iTunes using a gift card I got for Christmas. I started the download and once the first movie got too about 3.2 GB of 6.2' it stopped and started over for no apparent reason. I tried multiple times to download both movies with no luck the first 24 hours. Was hoping to have it for my flight for my vacation. Over the course of the next three days I have tried downloading the first movie at least 15 times on various WiFi networks, It always begins the download and then either restarts it on it's own or now gives me an error message saying the movie cannot be downloaded at this time, please try again later. I finally got the second movie to download after 10 attempts, but still no luck with the first. I know for certain I had a continuous WiFi connection every time. I am EXTREMELY frustrated at this point. I still have remaining dollars to spend from my gift card, but figure why even bother? I really hope someone can give me an idea which works. So far I have deleted the beginning download on multiple occasions and also tried restarting after this 4 times and nothing seems to work.

I have been having this problem since iOS 7 released.  I have a 32gb 3rd gen iPad.  I seem to have some artificial cap of 7 items from iTunes on my iPad at once.  Even with 6 movies I have 5.8gb left.  I only download the SD versions.
As soon as I hit 7 movies/tv shows on my iPad downloads fail almost 100% of the time.  They get near the end, freeze and then loop.  Ocassionally I'll get a "Unable to download" error but most times it just keeps going over and over.  Not only do I have this extremely annoying issue, but during this problem my iPad becomes nearly unusable.  While downloading, my iPad runs so poorly I'll open my cover or press the wake button and the screen will remain off.  I can press both buttons, open/close the cover and NOTHING.  It will stay like that for a minute sometimes.  IF it becomes usable apps will take 30 seconds just to open/close, scrolling is unresponsive for many seconds at a time and then scrolls all at once.  It almost as if the download is using all of the CPU's power.
I have 253 movies I've bought in iTunes.  I own 6 Apple TV's, 2 Retina Macbooks, 1 iMac, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.  iTunes works great on all of those devices minus my iPad.  My wife's, which is the same model minus a cell connection is fine.  I am extremely annoyed with this problem.  I've started to loathe using my iPad and thats just rediculous.
If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears, I've tried these fixes:
Erased all content/settings and restored from iCloud Back up
Erased all content/settings and restored but DID NOT use iCloud back up. (I did notice downloads worked great for the first few weeks, then went to crap.)
Tried force restarting the iPad when its acting up
Used my Time Capsule's Wifi - No change
Used my guest network from my Netgear router - No Change
Used my parent's wifi today - No change.
This doesnt seem to be a widespread problem, I've had trouble finding help on these forums.  Apple is constantly silent and most other users never reply with the same problem.  I'm close to giving up and getting a replacement from Square Trade.  I will not buy a new iPad less than two years after getting that one, mainly out of protest.  I have little confidence in the Air doing much better or lasting longer than this current one.

  • Movie won't download from the store

I recently purchased a movie through the iTunes store, and it won't download.  I think my version of iTunes froze, and now it won't work.  I went to store and check for available downloads, and it still would not download.

  • HT1725 Movie won't download

I only have wifi access and my movie will not download.  The connection has not been broken, it started downloading and has not moved for 15 mins.  There is not an option to resume or even pause.  I am on the road and cant connect to another inet connection or sync to my main computer.  How can I finish my movie download that I've already paid for?  I feel duped. Not easy or helpful when on the road.  I'm on my ipad2.

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:
