Movieclip wont appear on the scene (AS3)

Question

Hi,
I have one movieClip and a button in my library and I would
like to bring them on stage by prog. I right cliked and my
movieClip which is named carre_mc and named its class carre_mc and
cheked the Export for ActionScript box. this is what I have and
theres no errors but nothin appears
var carre_mc:MovieClip=new MovieClip();
addChild(carre_mc);
I'm new to it wonder if its alright would like to define the
properties of x and y but later on, first I want to see it appear
on stage
please help I have posted this in the actionsScript 3 forum
and no answer I know it might sound likr the easiest thing but why
isnt it working and try to find it in the Oreily book and its not
there except if youre using package which I dont want to. I want to
start from the bottom.

if you've 'named' your class 'carre_mc' then that is the
class that you are creating an instance of, so you need to add it
to the display list like so:
var mc:carre_mc = new carre_mc();
addChild(mc);
